Waited ages for delivery and when it finally arrived it was wrong and missing items. When I phoned I didn't get much of a response. Nearly 2 hours later ans still waiting for missing items!!!

Used to love this chip shop, but the standards seem to be slipping The past 3 orders haven't been up to there usual standard dry fish, smaller portions even though large had been ordered, and the chicken.... Well I gave it to the cat instead

Delivering Flowers from Heathrow to Eastbourne, Had Chickem Burger and Chips, proper chippy chips ,cooked to perfection, Chicken Burger was Banging, and the Guy serving was Lovely, I will be back next time im in town 😁🍟🍔

This chippy is local to me and fortunately the best of the chippys in Hampden Park. The cod is usually cooked to perfection and the batter isn’t too soggy or greasy, just right. The portions of chips I would say are extremely generous and a large will easily do two people. Everything is cooked fresh to order so expect a 5-10 minute wait but that can be negated by phoning ahead.

I just wanted to tell you how disappointed I am with your serve. Tonight was the second time in as many weeks that I came to you just before your listed closing time of 9pm. I was there at 8:50pm only to find that you were closed. What I thought was terrible customer service was even though I knocked politely on the glass 3 times the young lady behind the counter and the owner never even had the manners to look up to acknowledge me. A sorry would have been nice. I won't be back nor will I recommend you again.

The delivery was extremely long and arrived much later than time expected. It looked like a really decent place having looked at previous reviews. I was wrong- nothing cooked from fresh at all. Such a waste of money as I had quite a large order! Calamari was dry and tough, chips were similar, the pastry on the pie rock hard… i thought the lamb samosas would be similar to a normal samosa- they’re not. The savaloy was gristly in bits but maybe that’s just how they are? Disappointing

Chips aren’t that bad, but the owner really lets his business down... Clean, well presented and with reasonable prices. The female member of staff who always seems to be there is a credit to the business. The owner / manager however is rather rude and obnoxious. Given the amount of chip shops in the area, you’d think he’d pull out all the stops to keep regular custom. We however have agreed that today is our last visit here after yet another really rude interaction with him. Now to the best nearby!

We order from here frequently, I am addicted to the chilli bomb burgers! They are beautiful! Also love the cheesy chips and curry sauce. Never had a bad meal from here and I'm so glad I gave them a try! Have recomended to friends and family who have thanked me as they loved it too! One of my favourite takeaways to order from!

I have ordered quite a few times from The Broadway Chippy “Apparently” and can honestly say that the food has been nothing but superb. The cod is simply beautiful and the only criticism is there is not enough of it but that is fine as it has to be the best around. BUT tonight I am in shock. Closing time is 9.30 I rang at 9.15 asking to place an order and was met with an almost comical sorry I can’t hear you but but but phones breaking up kind of attitude. I was quite happy to pick up but didn’t get the chance to say that as the “lovely” chap at the other end put the phone down on me. I rang straight back to be told that they were basically shutting in 5 mins (At this point 10 mins early) followed by a load of abuse. Naturally I retaliated with like minded abuse as quite frankly I’m bloody starving. What I don’t understand is that if you are open until 9.30 then surely you are cooking until 9.30 If you are going home at 9.15 then maybe you want to change your opening hours to 9.00 for arguments sake. Sad thing is, I have never felt the need to leave a negative review before. The other stupid thing is all he needed to do was to say that they were a bit quite tonight and decided to shut early which would have been frustrating but totally understandable. But no “Apparently” it’s me that’s the issue. Good luck in the current climate but you have lost us.

It was the first time I'd ordered from this restaurant last night and it will be the last. We wanted a delivery as we had people staying, The web page said delivery would be 60 minutes, so as we didn't want to eat until 7.30 we ordered at 6.15, after waiting until 8pm we phoned and we finally got delivery at 8.15. Was it worth the wait ??NO the fish tasted ok. But the batter was so thin it was no better than buying a frozen birds eye fish in batter and the chips enemic. So no I won't be ordering again.

First time we've used Broadway Chippy. Great food - best fish I've tasted outside Yorkshire. Big portions too. Would definitely recommend

I ordered for the first time today from this fish and chip shop If you like chips that look like they've been sitting in a box for weeks on end you've come to the right place It's was shocking I decided to support a small business to be paying for chips that where unfit for human consumption I'll stick to Trawlers from now on not even the seagulls wanted them Disgusting how they think giving someone food like this is acceptable I would of been better of making my own as you could see from miles away that the chips was inedible never never again

Just visited here, first time for a year or so, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, a very varied menu, all food cooked to order. Food was fantastic, the best I have ever had, fish and chips served in a box with a piece of lemon and parsley on top, perfect. Please give them s try you will not be disappointed.

Has to be the best fish and chips in the town. Plus a great selction of food and all priced very reasonably always very busy so fone your order in.

This place does quite possibly the best fish and chips ever, they have a good menu with random items that I’ve not tried but it’s mainly the fish and chips I go for. It’s a good value place too. And not many chippies that give you a chunk of lemon and a sprig of parsley either.

We placed a large order here for our Charities Fish and Chips evening. The feedback from our guests was that the food was lovely and tasty. It was delivered on time and nice and hot. We would recommend The Broadway Chippy to anyone else that has upcoming events. Thankyou

Went in and ordered 3 Hawaiian quarter pounders - £2.50 each and 3 medium chips.

There food is of a nice quality and always fresh, would go there more often when i have the chance, would recommend there food

When compared with other F&C; restaurants, this one is very good. However, like practically all of them, it serves soft chips and sometimes the fish batter can be found sticking to the underlying paper, both signs of a not quite hot enough fat temperature during cooking, especially prior serving.

The staff are great, the chef on par and the ingredients especially sourced for the best takeaway and Indian curry in Eastbourne. Succulent delicious food 🥘

The difference since the new owner has taken over is amazing. Their is now more choices on the memo, a loyalty card system. Proper fish and chips, southern fried chicken , Indian curries and the usual fare. All freshly cooked. Really tasty.

Visited recently based on recommendations, and was not disappointed at all!! Really tasty food, great value for money, brilliant service (all the staff and owner are so nice)!

Had a family meal there we bought some Fish & Chips and burgers it was amazing food taste was so good our stomach was full but mouth wanted more. Portions are very generous and service is friendly. They also do kids menu which we did not try but we will be going back regularly now. Boss is witty place felt very friendly and homely.

I gave this place a try as it had taken place of Aqua and was not disappointed. I ordered gourmet burgers and chips, which they warned would take a while to cook. They were worth the wait, good quality, lots of flavour and really filling. The chips were also very good. They sell fish, burgers, chicken and are starting to do some Indian dishes so I am looking forward to having another takeaway soon.
