British Raj in Preston

This was our go-to curry place, but over the last few weeks, quality and taste have dipped. We have tried most of the Chefs Specials and always found them to be tasty with depth of flavour and completely different from each other, but several weeks ago, things changed. As we have always enjoyed the food we gave the place, 3 goes to see if things improved. Sadly, they have not. The final straw came at the weekend. We ordered a chicken tikka achari, and what we got was nothing like what we've had before. No pickle flavour, and to top it off, apart from the chicken pieces, there was nothing else apart from sauce. Sorry, but ee will not be returning. Such a shame.

Not really late night more 19.00 We had a take away just passing on or way to a campsite Really quick service but that didn't compromise the food it was excellent We had lamb bhuna ,pakoras onion bhajis rice which was light fluffy tri colour excellent ingredients quality meat really enjoyed

Had home delivery of our food and it arrived piping hot, I had chicken tikka jalfrezi and my husband had chicken tikka dopiaza, we had boiled and pilau rice, popadoms and chutneys and a delicious garlic naan bread which was great for dipping in the sauce. I have picked up take-aways in the past from The British Raj but this delivered one was the best for the fact it was really hot when it arrived. The jalfrezi was hot in a spicey way and delicious as was the Dopiaza.

Quick delivery, very nice quality food came piping hot were very happy and will be ordering again Recommend the chicken, Rogan, Josh and chicken pakoras

First time ordering from British Raj. I have to say the food was delicious. Only bad mark was they forgot to put the poppadoms in with the order, but after phoning them they had them delivered to our door in less than ten minutes with extra chutneys and a heartfelt apology. We will definitely be ordering from British Raj again. Yayyy.

Ordered a takeaway from here. Couldnt use the app so phone through the oder. was told 45 minutes for delivery which was ok. However over 2 hours and 3 phone calls later out food finally arrived. No real apology either. The food was also very mediocre :(

I ordered via the app only to find the shop computer was down so they didn't get my order. I phoned it through and went to collect, paying cash. While in the shop waiting I realised the app (foodhub) had charged my card, so I ended up paying twice. When I told the owner, he could not have been less interested, he was annoyed that I was asking how I get my money back and kept walking off in to the kitchen mid conversation, very rude. He wouldn't refund my cash payment and gave me foodhubs number to call. Can't be helped the computer was down and I don't mind going through foodhub to get my 2nd payment back. Only his attitude was awful, he was really rude. Shame as the food was good but I'll spend my money somewhere where they aren't so rude.

Ordered on line to collect however on arrival system was down and order had not been received, gentleman on front of house very apologetic as i live close by was not an issue. When the food was received it was very good hot ,very fresh and tasty. Will definitely be making further visits in the near future.

Was really impressed. This was a takeaway order. I live quite nearby but hadn’t ordered from there until now. Didn’t have high hopes for some reason but have to say the food was delightful. My wife is Indian and I’m used to really good home made Indian food, so don’t dish praise out easily. Staff were really nice too and one of the chefs came out when I collected to say he’d thrown a couple of onion bhajis in which was a lovely gesture and they were absolutely unreal…probably the best I’ve had. Highly recommended!

Absolutely awful only ordered because of reviews, they must be writing them themselves as the food was awful, do your self a favour and order elsewhere, I will never use them again as absolutely rubbish
