Gave me food poisoning. Awful. Was on the toilet all night last weekend and now when I eat certain things it makes me ill again. I had the prawn Karai. Avoid this place like the plague

We know the guys here really well, always always really looked after. Called here after the train back from Lytham Festival. The mixed grill was as good as the best I've ever had and we had the chicken chat starter as a main for my wife. Everything absolutely brilliant and excellent service with a big smile. Classic restaurant we will use again and again :)

Called in on spec, not been for ages. Set menu £15.99 between 5.30 and 9.30pm…..excellent value for money. We were the only ones in at 6pm on a Wednesday. We had poppadoms, Chicken shish, chicken tikka for starters, then mixed Balti and chicken masala served with rice and chips for mains. Served very hot and very tasty, highly recommended

Not impressed. Did not taste fresh. The higher prices completely unjustified.

You need to change your oil the popadoms taste disgusting dew to old burnt oil

Food was hot but, chicken rogan josh flavourless, chicken tasted like it was the frozen processed type not fresh, portion of onion Bahai’s only two in a portion, same with the meat samosas unlike other takeaways where you get three per portion for the same price, very disappointed and won’t be ordering from here again

Popadoms tasted oily, curries were generally the same even though the 4 of us had a different main meal. Average spicing and not much flavour. The breads were nice. Overall not the best and expensive for what we had. We split the bill, 2 paid on their cards and 2 paid cash. The waiter returned saying we were short in the cash, but one of us had put a £20 note in and on the return of the platter it was not there just some tenners, we knew what was paid and we were very unhappy at having to top it up, it spoilt the night for us

Bought from here for the first time cus I wanted to try something a bit more expensive than my normal chippy just out of curiosity. Sikh kebab and biryani were offensively bland.4 quid for 2 supermarket samosa's and another 4 quid for 1 single very average nan. But even though the food was a chore, the pricing did make me laugh 😂 thanks for that guys♥️.

Definitely not worth the money. I really had a very bad experience. The staff was very rude. While paying the bill. The staff asked me for the bill. The bill that was written by himself. was not even understandable. maybe it’s different for the people who are going for the drink . But the drink was even so cloudy. definitely not recommended

I had a very awkward experience since the very first encounter with the staff. Didn’t even bothered to say hello. The menu was average, not cheap not to expensive. But the curry and biryani was horrible. so the food is not reasonable with the price at all. I don’t know how this restaurant have got these good reviews, probably fake or the staffs were different at that time.

Not worth the money. Not even worth a one star. The staff was very unprofessional and rude. The curry was £12 but it was not even worth £3 tasteless. Look for alternative restaurants instead.

Very bad experience, Food is not good comparatively with the price. Also The waiter was very rude and was only friendly to the Alcohol drinkers as they know they are going to spend more money. Even others were complaining about the drink too. Not recommended at all.

We had an hour or so to kill, waiting for a train, and fancied a curry. A quick online search suggested this place. It's a typical 'no frills' small curry house in a busy part of town. It was clean, had a great menu, and very friendly staff. The food was freshly prepared. The chapattis and naan bread were some of the best we've ever had. Definitely worth consideration if you're in Preston.

Been many times over 30 years, as this is one of the most long running and established restaurants in Preston. We were on the way home from a local festival, we weren't disappointed. Excellent food, the service was extraordinary and brilliant. A regular place for us!

One pound for each popadom that tasted awful. Food very average and extremely over priced. Prices were different on each menu, the price of naan bread was extortionate. Might be ok if your drunk but otherwise avoid.

Husband & I visited here last Saturday. The maitre’d made us very welcome. The menu is extensive, we tried the chicken livers starter, which I would recommend. Then we had a meat thali meal. It was all good and prices reasonable. The atmosphere is very friendly, it was apparent that a lot of customers are regulars, always a good sign! I would highly recommend.

Friendly restaurant with good selections

The curry sauce was watery which ruined the rest of the meal, it made the chips soggy and the rice watery. We've never had a problem before so it was a bit disappointing, we love going to the restaurant and never had a problem there either.

Came here last night with my partner after having a day out in Preston. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant after being to many Indian restaurants in Preston over the years, and somehow this one was missed by me! I’m so glad we went. The food was amazing. Really nice to see chicken livers as a starter as this is one of my favourite dishes. The livers were succulent and delicately spiced, with a good helping of salad on the side. My main was a Lamb Madras with onion rice. Again the meat was succulent and the curry flavoursome and hot. My partner is a vegan so opted for the vegan choices on the menu and was also very happy with the quality of the food. Atmosphere was okay, personally I like a restaurant to be a bit busy, but this was a Thursday night so I’m sure over the weekend the restaurant will get busier. Not for everyone, just my preference. Service was attentive and staff lovely. I will be returning!

45 minutes late, but it was worth it. Ordered two Mega boxes with lamb curry. Food was absolutely delicious. By far the best we've had in quite some time. I feel mean now for not tipping the driver for being so late but will make up for it next time! 😋😋

After a small issue with my order last week. I received customer service second to none, very apologetic staff who couldn’t do enough to rectify this and have just provided me with a replacement meal which was the best restaurant standard food I’ve had in a long time, delivered to my home If your looking for truly authentic Indian cuisine, you must visit Shahzaad Tandoori Restaurant in Preston... Highly recommend 👍

This is a fantastic indian restaurant the food and hospitality are both superb. We went there for my brother's 60th birthday after good old Covid 19 cancelled a family party. I would recommend this restaurant, well done.

£2.80 for a small chips basically. Hardly any chicken in birriarni, no garlic on a garlic naan. The actually taste of the curry wasn’t too bad. There’s better Indians for less money.

Delivered sooner than expected and some extra snacks were included in the bag, only korma did not taste or look like korma, it was white in colour and completely tasteless.

Food really wasn’t for my liking, the quality wasn’t up to the standards of other establishments out there, the Chicken Korma lacked flavour, Delivery was on time & service was good however it just wasn’t enjoyable for me.

Eaten from here twice now, both times over 20minutes early, both times piping hot, and both times the foods been great so cannot fault this place at all.

The takeaway was busy so food was late. They compensated us with extra samosas which we were happy with. The curries were nice but very oily.

Ordered the mega box meal it was amazing definetly recommend.

Food was great: flavorful, tasty, not too spicy or bland. It also didn't have that greasy layer on top or bright pink/orange colouring. I really enjoyed it and would order again. Only tried once but based upon this order I enjoyed it.

We haven't been here for ages and I don't know why because it has fab food! So we found ourselves this end of town and decided to go for a late night curry. Not too many people in at 10pm. We just ordered drinks and main courses. I had the most delicious mixed balti and husband had very garlicky, chillified chicken curry, just how he likes it, with very fresh chips and rice. With two pints (for him) the meal came to £34. Excellent value and recommended

Haven't visited this restaurant for many years but really enjoyed it. The staff are really friendly the food was delicious and the surroundings lovely although the steps to the toilet were a bit steep😀!! When we asked for the bill we all got a shot of sambuca on the house which was a really nice touch. Definitely go back again.

I was dissatisfied with this curry masala is my all time favourite but this was very watery with a bland taste and the chicken pieces were very small something like you get in a meal at a supermarket it cost me £10.95 for the curry and chips and I just didn’t think it was worth it I have eaten in this restaurant and the food has been lovely not sure what happened here sorry

The worse Indian meal I’ve had. Curry was watery. Chicken tikka was not tikka, neither was the lamb. Rice was watery. Just horrible and so disappointing!

Wir waren zum Essen am frühen Abend. Sehr schnell war der Ober da - 2 Kollegen halfen mit. Das Menü 4 Gänge war lecker..kann ich nur empfehlen. Wir fühlten uns wohl...

Wir waren zu Fünft (alles Männer) dort essen und es hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir wollten querbeet essen, was wir dem Kellner auch gesagt haben und haben für relativ kleines Geld ausreichende und gute Qualität erhalten! Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, hatten wir insgesamt 4 Gänge und haben nicht einmal 120 Pfund bezahlt.

Normally I don't eat everything when I get a takeaway. I ate it all, including the rice and it was lovely! I'd probably say the portions for the curry was a bit on the small side towards other takeaways, but the quality of the food was really good.

Curry sauce is off very poor quality no vegetables or herbs it's just sauce with meat, very disappointed. Chicken must have been old as it was very dry, very bad taste to it couldn't eat it. Anyone who likes proper curry avoid this place. Go to a proper place and pay the same. Staff was nice but if you're looking for nice curry I don't recommend this place.

Whilst on a night out we looked at places to eat near by, we normally don't like changing curry houses, but we thought we would try this one. We had noticed it had been open for 20 years and seemed to have good reviews. We wasn't disappointed, from the popadoms to start to the curry everything was first class. I had chicken tikka Masala and although it was a bit spicier than I normally had, it tasted so much better. Even my husband was mopping up my sauce at the end. Everything came out in a timely manner, would highly recommend you to try.

In the ten yrs I've lived in Preston I have never had a bad meal or been disappointed. A no frills eatery with friendly attentive staff.

The chilli pickle is to die for

Almost perfect - the Prawn Pele Pele ordered was delivered as a Special Pele Pele - I don't mind as I'll eat anything - but others might. Papodums a little bit stale but I'm nit-picking - the rest of the meal was a pleasantly good meal.
