The best Indian meal I have ever had! Such a hidden gem. I cannot rave about this place’s food enough….absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Lower stars on atmosphere only because we went on a Thursday evening.

It was a great experience.. The service is extremely good and food was very tasty & delicious 😋💯👌 If you like to have experience of South Indian foods I would like to recommend this restaurant.

The food is very very good and tasty. They customised the items in your order according to your taste( more spice or salty like that) I seen most of the restaurant in preston there no options like this according to the customer taste. The staff are very friendly and polite and respectfully treat the customers. Better to go with the family for this restaurant on your special days. If your busy to go the restaurant call the restaurant and order your food they will deliver you in promised time.

I had a great time here. Got some delicious south Indian style food. They serve finely the dishes, just tell them about how spicy the food should be, you can have it in your traditional Indian style. Great place enjoyed it, lovely people

The staff here are just lovely. Whilst waiting they brought me some rice pudding and I felt awful refusing as I can’t have milky stuff but they were so nice about it. Food lovely. Discounted by near a tenner for collecting and booking directly with them. Great value for money Thank you

long time since I have been there used to be pretty good. vindaloo was salty and watery, pilau rice bland, chapatis no better than supermarket ones.

It was a delightful experience from the side of Maharani restaurant. The service is extremely good and a way worth for the money. If you like to have experience of South Indian foods I would like to recommend this restaurant.

Delicious Indian food and plenty of quantity.

Kerala paratha is nice with their kothamali chicken curry. We had Briyani which we are not happy. It taste nothing no spice at all. Waiter should have asked before taking order about spice level he considered by himself and mentioned that we are okay with minimum spice level.

Amazing curries full of flavour. Slight error in order however they went above and beyond to correct. Will definitely order again.

We came here on Saturday the 29th after booking a table online. When we arrived they were not aware of our reservation and it took a few minutes for us to be seated. They weren't busy and there was plenty of tables free. The floor throughout was very slippy, I'm assuming they'd waxed it or something but We had to walk cautiously to avoid slipping. We ordered and was then told a few minutes later they had no pakoras, disappointed. Our poppadoms came with a Chutney tray. With consisted of two mango Chutneys, onion's and some other dip that resemblanced a medicine taste. There was no mint yoghurt or chilli sauce. The chicken tikka starter and the other recommended starter came and they were nice. However, I'd ordered a chicken tikka rogan josh and couldn't eat it, it tasted like chicken cooked in a marinara sauce, not resembling a rogan josh at all. We weren't asked at any point if our food was okay either. We asked for the bill and was told to go and pay at the reception to pay. Once round there we had to wait again for a few minutes whilst a man had to manually type everything individual we'd ordered into the till. We were not asked if everything has been ok at this point either. Unfortunately our experience was not a great one and we would not return. The staff were pleasant, but not attentive at all.

Staff so nice and friendly. Food is excellent. Biryani is a must. And the lamb dishes melt in your mouth like they should do. Can't speak highly enough of this wonderful restaurant 👍

We thought we’d try this Indian restaurant as we’ve driven past a few times. We are glad we did and we’d definitely come again. Staff so friendly and the food tasted delicious we are happy with our experience. There were limited parking spaces but had no trouble finding a spot. We really enjoyed the food and would most definitely come back

Delicious Kerala cuisine. Kizha parotta and kothamalli kozhi curry - adipole! Great food

Not a brilliant experience at all. Food was not to my liking at all, fairly bland and onion bahjis did not seem fresh at all. Service was the area it was let down the most, waited an hour for starters and they all came at different times. Won't be going again.

Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere

We had very good experience here. The food was reminding the authentic aromo. Loved the vegetable biryani. Which was customized to my taste. They use coconut oil and coconut milk which was very evident. The dosa is on the menu but you need to pre order it as the batter is prepapred freshly.

The dining experience was highly disappointing, earning a mere one-star rating. The food was excessively oily, leaving a greasy residue on every dish. Moreover, portion sizes were inconsistent, with some dishes barely filling the plate. The lack of attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of the food was evident. Overall, the experience failed to meet even the most basic expectations, leaving a dissatisfied taste in every bite. It's regrettable to say that I cannot recommend this establishment based on my unfortunate encounter.

Had a very wonderful dinner experience here. The service was really really good. The restaurant even arranged a cake for my friend's bday dinner within a short notice. Loved the ambience and service of the restaurant.

Travelled a long distance to explore the food from Maharani by seeing great reviews in social media. But unfortunately the decision was a disaster, the food was not up to the level both in quantity and quality. Service was also very bad, once after taking the initial order no one was there to enquire what else we needed. Overall it was a bad experience

Me and my mate went there on a Tuesday. We traveled almost 70 miles to reach as people were posting reels about the restaurant. I would comment the choice as a DISASTER. We ordered " Fish Pollichathu " , which they served in a banana leaf , as a mallu I was giving too much expectation before opening the item, the entire fish was just a fillet covered with 1 kg of Onion with loads of semi cooked Indian masala. Genuinely it is NOT a recommending item from my side. The "Beef Ularthyathu" was the second item I ordered, unlike the above,this time we were lucky as we got many coconut pieces and the rest of the onion from above along with 2 beef piece each. " Tholpichu kalanju njngale ' The poratta was too nice and tasty. Overall it was NOT a worth to money buying option when comparing with quality and quantity of Food being served. NOTE : (To so called Food Vloggers) don't give over hype to people when your Machan and Mamen is working over there.

Wow. I’ve ordered from here before and usually ordered my usual madras and I have always been impressed with the quality and flavour of the food. This time I went for one of their specialities ‘Nadan Beef Curry’ and that was just another level. Restaurant quality and then some. Amazing flavours from southern India. I lived every mouthful.

Restaurant was very cold, people should not be sat in coats eating. Took around 45-60mins to get papadums from ordering, food was good but spoilt by restaurant temperature and long waits

Nice South Indian place at the heart of Preston. We ordered Dosa which wasn't available (pre-order only) well that's a major bummer. However the order was flavourful and rooted to the origins. Overall nice experience but the ambiance could be made alot better.

The curry was full of water, wasn't very nice at all, some strange bone was in it aswell, I ate some, then 4am this morning I was throwing up! Not good.

Good service and excellent food

I’ve just had probably the worst takeaway curry meal I’ve ever had, in the Preston area!! 5 small pieces of chicken per meal ( there was 3 of us) very watery sauce with no flavour. All this for £9 per portion (without rice). We’ll never get a takeaway from there again and I advise you not to get one either

Had their Onam sadhya and was really impressed with the quality of the food and the way it was served. Their hospitality was top notch. Would go back to try the other items on their menu.

Brings everything authentic to Kerala - decor, vibes and the food. Had vada, pepper calamari, lamb, iddyappam and porotta. Food was delicious and authentic. The staff is very warm and polite too. Strongly recommend to all who loves South Indian cuisine. Would definitely visit again.

First time here on our visit to Preston. Based on the reviews here it sounded good. We both like a hot curry and we discussed this with the waiter whome advised us not to go for the hottest and we settled on a prawn vindaloo each, naan and rice. We were not disappointed! The curry was amazing. Great flavour and boy was it hot, (we were glad we didn't go for the hottest), The rice was good and the garlic naan was excellent. We also washed it down with a lovely chilled large bottle of kingfisher. We are usually disappointed with many curry houses that don't seem to be able to make a flavourful very hot curry, not the case here. These guys certainly deliver. We will certainly be back and hopefully spend more time sampling this lovely food which also offered great value for money Great work guys. 👌

decided to try this restaurant as my daughter has recently moved to Preston and rather than go to one of our usual Indian cuisine haunts thought we would try somewhere new and what a disappointment this was. We first ordered poppadoms and a tray of dips. The poppadoms did not seem freshly cooked and we were provided with very small portions of dip for the price. Usually we love the freshness of the finely chopped onions with the crispness of the poppadoms but for some reason these onions seemed to be cooked and mixed with tomato ketchup which was a very odd choice to make. We then followed this with chicken pakoras which are a family favourite - this time however it was not. We have had this dish at many other places and it is usually a lovely piece of chicken coated in a tasty batter - what we were presented with was some shredded chicken in a flavourless batter and a lot of pieces of crispy batter with absolutely nothing inside and was extremely bland. For my main I ordered tandoor chicken - this is one of my favourite dishes - it is usually aromatic with spices and just the right amount of heat for me - this time I got 2 big pieces of chicken which were cooked beautifully however there was absolutely no taste to chicken other than the ghee it was smothered in - so much ghee in fact that when it cooled it had solidified one of my pieces of chicken to the bottom of the dish it came in. My daughters ordered a paneer bhuna and a chicken madras and both said there was no taste to the curry at all. The chips were tasty although they also had a flavour to them that suggested they had also been cooked in ghee. We also ordered 2 garlic naan breads and although the chef seemed like he was afraid of spice with the rest of our food he was definitely not afraid of garlic. I would expect a nice fluffy bread with a thin coating of garlic and herbs and what we got was a flat hard bread with enough garlic to ward off nosferatu from 3 miles away. I blame myself for trying somewhere new instead of sticking to one of our old favourites but lesson learnt and we will definitely not be going back here.

The order was late, misplaced and I was told I'll be able to order again for the mistake. But the offer was taken back and asked to pay for delivery service. Pathetic.

Good service. Mixed starter was not great a small portion for the price, but the main course pulled it back, really enjoyed it and would come again. Staff were polite and helpful and they had Cobra on draught.

Uninspired decor that is showing its age. Wait staff limited which meant waiting for drinks - order a hot curry, got a mild one that lacked any depth of flavour. Confront staff about this and just got fobbed-off Will not got back there - EVER - - Stay Away!!! There are much better curry houses in Preston

Really really so delicious food we ordered different types of naan’s like garlic,keema…and starters like paneer,chicken 65 ,chicken soup,noodles all are reached our expectations.Even my kid liked so much big hittt

Food was really good.. but toilet facilities was very poor. My wife said the ladies toilet was not hygienic and cleaned.. I can't close the male toilet door from inside as well. After serving food the staff didn't come to the dine in room for further helps. I was planning to order something more but sadly no one come to the dine in room.

The food was excellent, and cooked really well, the breads were very fresh and the service was excellent. The food took a little longer than we thought to arrive, but you can't rush quality.

I found the Maharani almost by accident. It's an old school restaurant with beautifully cooked Indian dishes. Their spice blends are a real treat for your taste-buds - highly recommended.

Pro- the aubergine curry and chilli sauce vegetable were perfect. The food was hot and perfectly cooked. Kerela paratha👍 and the naan is also thinner than most of the other restaurants 👍and not chewy. The staff recommendations were very helpful and perfect to taste. A bit more spicy than typical British Indian food. Cons- We reached the restaurant by 8.30 pm to be told that they are not serving dosa and vada. Being vegetarian, options are always limited so that was disappointing. And thankfully there were only 3 tables occupied at any time as there was only one staff member doing all the work. So service was a bit slower.

They asked everyone if they wanted anything but us. I been there lots of times and the food was good but this time it was well it was not so good at all.

What a change in this place prices astronomical breads up by £1 same with rices. As for mains prawn passanda up over £3 and only 6 very small prawns in the dish, and duck balti the same big increase and more duck fat than actual duck in the dish. So overall £32.50 not well spent and sorry to say we shan't be back to Maharani anytime soon.

had a meal here with 7 people recently for a work function, it went absolutely great. food was amazing, fresh and hot and all arrived promtly and together. not one complaint by anybody, staff were lovely made sure we were all enjoying our food. we will be coming back every time

I would advise anybody thinking of going here to eat, to think again. Party of 14, went for my friends birthday, not one person enjoyed, or finished their meal, infact hardly anything got ate, absolutely diabolical. Spoke to them and still got charged full price, over £200, disgusting, never again!!! Birthday ruined, gone home to order a takeaway. What a joke!!!!

Portion sizes pretty good but the food was absolutely stone cold, and I mean, cold (not even luke warm). The lid was also missing from the raita which meant it had leaked all over everything in the bag.

Food was great! Asked for it spicy and it was certainly spicy! Only downside to say was that the delivery arrived late due to the driver not using the full address provided (driver visited the wrong postcode), hence food required reheating. No blame to the restaurant, out of their control (I'd assume 🤷).
