Family visit for lunch and was not disappointed. 2 course lunch was excellent value for money, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Great service, couldn’t fault it.

Great restaurant/pub. Service v good. Venue extensive and freshly prepared. Drinks reasonably priced and wine list covers most taste.

We ate at the Britannia on Monday 2nd. (Quiz Night), We had Gammon, Scampi and Parmigiano. 2 x White wines, 2 x Morreti, 2 x Beers. The bill was for £80.35. The food was well cooked and presented, service was fine. We enjoyed our evening at the Britannia. ——. Paul Reynolds

What a difference since the pub has been taken, the food and service are fabulous. Good size portions of food with lots of choice and happy to do a small portion if they can. Great service, have to say I couldn’t fault it and will be back for a big family do in a few weeks time.

Popped in here mid week. We were greeted with a friendly face and smile. Menus explained, drinks served and seated swiftly. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable too. Food served quickly. I had pizza which was very tasty. The steak also looked nice. Would return...

Starter was ok, nothing to write home about but when my steak came out I thought it was a joke. For the best part of £20 there was a tough steak 2 onion rings(frozen) and a very small portion of chips which weren’t very nice....

Went to the Britannia today together with my husband and 2 friends visiting us for the day. We all had the lunchtime menu, 2 meals for £7.95. The meals were hot, tasty and generous helpings. Staff as always friendly and helpful, Thankyou to our waitress Nicola who was friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. I like the way the waitress checks half way through your meal that everything is ok, good old fashioned service, bring it on. I would thoroughly recommend the Britannia to anyone.

Great selection- specials board offered something different. Was so impressed with the Camembert, fig and onion tart. Delicious and hubby enjoyed his lunch too. Highly recommend the mint choc chip sundae too! Go large (& share!)! Thanks for prompt service. Nice pub find :) 👍

Visited with friends and enjoyed a very good meal. Portion sizes were plenty for a hearty appetite, I had a small gammon which left room for a dessert, i did not regret my decision as the bread and butter pudding was delicious. It was quite busy but the service was still very good and served with a smile. Will visit again soon.

We went to The Britannia following a recommendation from a friend for lunch on the basis that there are smaller lunchtime portions. We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was hot, fresh and well cooked.

My wife and I visited this pub mid October 2018 for Sunday lunch as recommended by friends. Thank goodness we did. We had a lovely lunch with my wife having a roast dinner and I had steak. The food portions are generous at a reasonable price. The Roast has fresh veg and the waitresses are very helpful and attentive and are always happy to get a drink. My steak was very reasonably priced and was lovely and tender. There is a good variety of beers. The pub had family’s with children and couples and caters for all family/ couple units. I decided to have a large ice cream for desert with malteasers and other sprinkles for just under £4 and when it arrived it looked like a large ice cream Sundae and was delicious. The menu is packed with a variety of home made food. We again went for pie night last week and again had a perfect reasonably priced evening with beautifully cooked pub food with a lovely family friendly atmosphere. We will be back again for sure.

I visited the Britannia for a celebration meal with a group of 15, so we had to pre order our food. They were very accommodating and gave us our own small section so we didn’t disturb the other guests! The pub is really traditional and cosy inside with separate drinking and dining areas.

Monday night is Steak night so we gave it a try. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome and the waitress came to explain the offer and take our drinks order. This arrived without any undue delay and our food order taken. The service continued to be outstanding all the time. The food was cooked exactly as requested and we had a great evening - not rushed but not kept waiting.

Thirteen of us (seven adults and four children) gathered at The Britannia for a family meal. We had a very pleasant time with friendly and efficient service as well as great food. We had pre-booked our starter and main course requirements and this helped to make things run smoothly.

Booked in advance, arrived got sat down immediatly. Drinks menu was complete. We ordered food and it was prompt and exactly as we'd hoped. Staff all polite and generally good value for money. We have been before and we will go again. GREAT PIZZAS !

We ate at the Britannia on Saturday 23 June, We had 3 prawn starters, Lamb Shank, Steak pie and Lasagne mains, 2 dishes of Olives, 4 beers, Bottle of house Pinot, Bill was for £90. All was perfect, Food and Service, The Britannia is highly recommended.

Lovely atmosphere, plenty of availability seating wise. Very helpful staff. Food was excellent, chicken and bacon pasta, hunters chicken and salmon fishcake. All served hot, plenty of it, couldn't finish it all.

I'm a regular, visited to celebrate my son's birthday. Tried lamb koffa (new choice for me) which was delicious. Kids tucking into their favourite pizza and husband is enjoying the sizzling fajitas!

We were surprised how few pubs in the area were serving food all day on a bank holiday so it was a welcome relief to find a lovely table waiting for us - cool beers a great choice of food and more importantly a friendly smile...A buzzing pub - lots going on and easy to park right outside (wheelchair user). We even managed a stroll up and down the village to walk off the delicious steaks and apple crumble. Thanks all !

Having visited the other pub in the village and surrounding areas, me and my family did enjoy the food. It was a little over priced for what we had and the staff didn't seem to be enjoying themselves. However I tried one of their burgers in a ciabatta bun, it was very tasty! It just lacked a bit of atmosphere. But we would return.

Great food at good prices, this place is a real gem the Sunday lunch with 3 meats is the best £10.00 i have ever spent............

We attended as a family of 4 with a small baby. The staff are wonderful and friendly and so helpful! The only down side was the steak was quite thin, other than that I cannot recommend highly enough!!

Always have great food here. The Sunday roasts are very good, vegetables are slightly hard but that’s only because I like mine soft. Drinks are very expensive! They have a good selection of gins

The Britannia sits back from the road. Inside the front door, one turns right into a 'Snug' bar. Turn left into a large but cosy restaurant. Staff are really good here in this busy pub. We visited and ate there on a Tuesday so got a table easily but at the weekend, I imagine it would be really busy. Food was well presented and served in a very pleasant way. The pub is run by a very busy lady called Kate. She is obviously enjoying herself! We will be eating there again next month.

Lovely meal , reasonably priced, best hunters chicken , I have had in years , my child’s pizza was lovely and loved the fact the half she didn’t eat was boxed up , my husband also loved his bangers and mash . Will definitely visit again

I've been to this pub many times, since 1973, but have always drunk and never eaten there. That was until the past month. Since then I have had two lunches! It's a busy pub and that really says something.

The Britannia is a proper village pub with a traditional bar and an excellent restaurant, We have eaten at the Britannia on numerous occasions and always found the Pub and Staff very welcoming and efficient, On Saturday 3rd March we had Cooked camembert and Mushrooms in pepper sauce starters, Two Prawn Linguini mains, Olives side dish, 2 x Large white wines and 2 x Beers, The bill was for £56, All was perfect, The Britannia is highly recommended. Eaten and drank here a few times with various friends and everyone is impressed by the friendly staff and the food.

The fish was juicy and plenty full. The chips a tad dry and hard but the service was swift and welcoming. During December the restaurant could look a little more festive the atmosphere didn’t make me feel Christmassy, but that is a personal opinion. The gin selection was great and I loved having more than one option of gin.

The food here was good. The nachos we had for a starter fed two. The staff were very efficient and polite. Main meals were enjoyed by all. Good choice of beers.

We go here a lot to have Wine and sit in the garden. The staff are so friendly and it has a great local feel to it. Only tried the wine and pizza once, but it did not disappoint! was fresh and really tasty. Def worth a visit and a try :)

My friend and I first visit, looking for a cheapish lunch: menu offered 2 meals for £7.95. We opted for the cheddar mash with Queniborough sausages, veg and onion gravy. This was excellent value for money but veg was cold. We advised the waitress at end of meal and realise we should have perhaps said so at the time. However we have returned to this restaurant, ordered the same meal, asking that the veg be hot and we were not disappointed, the meal was very good, nice ambiance and value for money. We will be going again.

Visitado recientemente a la hora de almuerzo con un grupo de amigos. Pedimos el menú oferta especial, 2 comidas por 7 libras. 99 o £9. 99. Una buena opción, hay algo para todo el mundo. Tuve el dúo de salchichas locales, estos eran de proveniencia de la carnicería local justo al final de la carretera. Vinieron con puré de cebolla y la salsa deliciosa cursi con un plato de verduras frescas de temporada. Increíble por el precio! Personal amable y eficiente hizo de nuestra visita a la hora del almuerzo de lo más agradable.

Encantador lugar en el idílico Queniborough una corta distancia en coche de Leicester donde yo vivo. Llegamos tarde en la noche a las 6:30 no era demasiado concurrida, pero muchos en el lugar. Menú es variado cubriendo algunos platos continentales, así como comida tradicional. Todo a un precio razonable. Hay ofertas de lunes a viernes que dan un gran valor. Nos sirvieron a pocos minutos de llegar y el camarero y camareras eran muy atento sin ser dominantes. No espere mucho para cualquier campo y trataron con cordialidad y amabilidad. La comida era de buena calidad, bien presentado y sabroso fresco. Buenas porciones de tamaño confirmó que hice la decisión correcta para compartir un plato. El salmón ahumado y gambas plato es excelente. Como es el principal lomo de bacalao. Encantador y sabores muy equilibrados. Hay una gran variedad de postres tradicionales de dick vió a fruta fresca n helados. Para nosotros cuatro factura total incluyendo bebidas era £67. Lo único que lamento es no dejar una propina para los camareros trabajando duro ya que fui a la barra a pagar y la terminal no dar la opcion de propina. Sin embargo me solucionará que en mi próxima visita. Disculpas por eso. Hay algunas buenas ofertas de lunes a viernes quiero aprovechar así que sin duda volveremos muy pronto. Recomendaría este lugar para una comida informal o una cena sin dudarlo.

Estado aquí unas cuantas veces. Buena comida. Deletrear el nombre equivocado en mesa reservada que es molesto. La última vez que fui en que entramos con la gente caminando en después de mí, a quien yo supongo que para ser gente y conseguí ignorados para que pudieran ser servidos. No después de eso y no volveré. Si eres un local 5 / 5 si no, espera a ser tratados de manera diferente.

Had Sunday lunch. Great service. There was a nice break between courses, so we could all talk. The food was prepared brilliantly and tasted great. A nice selection of desserts. Great real ale selection at the bar. Nice quaint interior. Always love coming here.

Popped in unexpectedly, didn't book and luckily got a table. I had steak and ale pie, my wife had home made pizza and my son had the burger. All were freshly cooked, huge portion sizes and tasted fantastic. Bill came to £40, will definitely return.

No es nuestra primera visita, pero no han sido por un tiempo. Muy buen menú. Un montón de opciones. Comimos bistec, fajitas, pollo bacon linguini n n pollo Cajun. Todo perfectamente preparado. Buen servicio del personal amable. 50 libras bill n que incluía extras. Patatas con pan de ajo. Tienen noches temáticas con ofertas especiales. Creo que fue la noche de jueves italiano. Pero no parecía muy popular entre tan lleno que tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo. Lugar muy agradable. Volveré.

Sólo tenía una excelente comida de Navidad con la familia. La comida era muy buena y el personal trabajó duro para hacer que la tarde agradable. Sí, estaba muy lleno, pero no esperes nada más en diciembre en este pub popular del pueblo. Los tres platos estaban muy bien presentado y todo estaba buenísimo. La camarera agradable aseguraron que estaban bien cuidadas y comprobó que tenía suficiente para beber, y que estábamos contentos con nuestras comidas. Bien hecho a todos y cada uno y no puedo esperar para comer aquí. Para los bebedores de cerveza siempre hay una gran variedad de cervezas a mano, uno de los grandes atractivos para mí.

Tuvimos un almuerzo de domingo con la familia realmente precioso hoy en día. El ambiente era muy acogedor y el personal es amable y servicial. Era fácil de conseguir algo para mi sin gluten necesidades gratis también. La comida era realmente deliciosa y la factura fue una agradable sorpresa. Es una lástima que no hay más espacio para aparcar, ya que estaban muy ocupados. Buen trabajo que habíamos reservado con antelación, de lo contrario no creo que tendría una mesa.

Tuve gambas y patatas fritas como me apetecía. Mi compañero tenía una pizza. Puedo decir honestamente que la comida aquí es pésima. Cata de sosa y simplemente no es genial.

Have visited this lovely village pub many times because of the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, but the steak night has alluded me till now....well it was the absolute best value £19.99 for two rump steaks and a nice bottle of Merlot fab!!!! I don't think you could make it at home for that,the steak was cooked to perfection,would also recommend the home made soup which varies from day to say but I have tried many and have not been disappointed....we'll worth a visit

Visitamos el Britannia temprano el jueves por la noche sin reserva y observó que era de noche italiana con dos platos principales de las ofertas especiales y una botella de vino por solo 20 libras que parecía una excelente relación calidad-precio. Varias mesas estaban reservadas que muestra que este es un lugar popular pero encontramos una mesa cerca del bar que era gratis. El Britannia pronto comenzó a llenarse de clientes. Comida de cumpleaños de la familia, la mayoría de la comida era bastante normalito, pan de ajo era 100% no fresco y no estoy seguro de la comida aparte de los aperitivos y quizás los postres.

A friend suggested we stop at The Brittania and I'm very glad we did. Friendly staff and great lunch made for an ideal break from our travels through the beautiful countryside. Although there was a wide variety of food choices available, we were both drawn to the Steak, Ale and Red Leicester pie on the specials board and it was delicious! Topped with a crunchy pastry, this hearty pie served with fresh vegetables and chips, ticked all the boxes. The board outside advertises Monday Steak Night, Tuesday Pie Night and Thursday Italian Night and it is a pity I live in Suffolk as I would love to come back and see what the chef can do with a steak....The Brittania is dog-friendly with a separate bar area (or outside) for our travelling companions and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. 5 stars!!

Hemos estado aquí varias veces y siempre me ha gustado mucho, el servicio es excelente, incluso cuando está lleno, hay un fantástico menú complementadas por ofertas y lo que realmente atrae a los platos de la familia en los tamaños más pequeños de la porción para aquellos con gustos más pequeñas. Todos los platos que hemos tenido aquí son siempre muy sabroso y bien presentado a excelentes precios, que siempre quieren volver.

Nos detuvimos para comer como parecía bastante ocupado - parece ser un popular local favorito. Ofrecen un menú variado y barato de 2 por 1 almuerzo en alrededor de 8 libras, que era realmente bueno.

Such a shame have been to this restaurant many times and have never had a bad meal the service has always been excellent the waitresses really polite and friendly but on this occasion very disappointed had to send my wine back due to a foreign body in it to be fair it was replaced immediately, then my main course came out I ordered salmon and prawns in a cream and chilli sauce which I have had on numerous occasions was not what I ordered was in a tomato sauce and bland so had to be sent back it was replaced with a rather bland sauce and over cooked salmon which was in edible, the waitress did offer to replace it but by this time everyone else has eaten I hope this is a one off as I really enjoy eating here. Have to add can't fault the manager or waitresses who dealt with it efficiently and were very apologetic just shame I had to leave without having any dinner and put a bit of a dampener on the night

Visitamos sin reservar una mesa en su popular 'italiano noche' donde tienen una junta especial y si pides de allí te dan una botella de vino o dos botellas de eg Peroni incluido con su comida. Te da una selección limitada de diferentes platos italianos pero suficiente para elegir uno. La comida era excelente - tuve un Americano Pizza con extra por encima y fue mejor de lo que me he comido en un restaurante de pizza. Los postres también eran excelentes, el personal era muy amable y aunque estaban ocupados el servicio era también muy bueno. Creo que recurren a proveedores locales para su carne que es conocido. También tienen una pequeña habitación ideal para pequeñas fiestas privadas.

Fuimos en italiano noche tan amplia variedad, el servicio era excelente a pesar de que es bastante concurrida, noche italiana opciones muy claramente explicó entrantes eran muy buenos, la salsa de ajo con champiñones era muy sabroso. La cosa realmente excelente sobre las principales es que muchos pueden ser ordenados en porciones más pequeñas que cubría el apetito más pequeño de mi esposa. Volveremos una y otra vez! Lo recomendaría también todos nuestros amigos para una muy buena comida de pub, una amplia selección, excelente servicio y precios razonables.

Fuimos para una comida Impromptu, fue bizee y no reservar. Pero nos las arreglamos para encontrar un espacio libre. Sin duda recomiendo reservar para ahorrar decepción. La comida era fantástico. Perfecto!!! Estuvimos muy impresionados y pensamos que era impecable. Los jóvenes camareras también eran geniales. No podían hacer más por ti. Good price for 2 pie meals + a bottle of wine for £16.50.However, the chips were undercooked and the peas not cooked. Not the 1st time this has happened.

Recently visited this place with friends to sample the pie night. The staff were really helpful and attentive. The pies were amazing. I had chicken and Stilton and the others had the steak and ale. Wonderful atmosphere. Definitely wil visit again. It was about £20 for two meLs and a bottle of good wine.

We had a table for four people booked for 6.30pmjust before Christmas. We didn't have a Christmas dinner as we didn't realise that you had to give them notice if you wanted to eat off the Christmas menu. So we ordered from their everyday menu. The choice was a little limited, but whe. The food came it was good.Service was good considering they were very busy with Christmas meals and the staff were very pleasant.I would definitely return again if in the area.

Have eaten here several times over the last few weeks. Monday night steak nights are good value and Thursday night Italian nights are a good way to start the weekend early without breaking the bank. Good food and good value.

The Brittania was recommended by friends so had high hopes. The service was friendly and quick. Unfortunately the food was diabolic. We arrived to be told they had run out of Yorkshire puddings, but we could have extra stuffing. The meal did arrive quickly...(maybe not such a good sign). The meats (both beef and turkey were ordered) was of the 'boned and rolled' variety, such as you might get at school. There were 2 tiny roast potato cubes and about 3 new potatoes. The veg was ok (at least it was fresh) but the stuffing balls were completely uncooked! To add insult to injury, the portions were child sized. I definitely will not be going back.

We dropped in for a quick lunch, ordered some nachos and a pizza off the 2 meals for £10 menu. Both were really nice.

We recently stopped in for a pint and ended up having lunch. We ordered a burger and wings. The burger came in ciabatta bread and the patty was cooked medium rare as per my request. The wingers were very much like KFC hot wings, just without the oil. The staff are friendly, the food is OK to good and the prices are reasonable. It's not a "Gastro Pub" but it is indeed a place for something to eat and drink if you are in need.

having lived in the village for some years and eaten in the pub on many occasions my wife and I have both noticed that the prices being requested for the meals on offer were becoming more like prices charged in a restaurant,which the Britannia certainly isn't.Whilst the service is always first class and the welcome friendly the final straw came when ordering a vegetarian curry,£10.75 and enough to feed a 10 year old,A very small bowl of Pillar rice equally small serving of curry and two nan breads presumably to try to make the plate look full.I refused the meal due to its bad value and was offered an alternative which I refused,last week when my wife ordered a pasta dish she encountered the same problem,but being with friends she did not wish to cause a scene.Sufficient to say that we shall not be returning to the Britannia in future.This is a pub nothing more! Whilst the food is good quality and the service excellent the management should be aware that they depend on good reviews which this obviously is not." Buyer Beware "

My first and last time at The Britannia. I was attracted by the fact that this was a pub regularly serving Timothy Taylor Landlord. Unfortunately I went on the last evening of a Beer Festival weekend. All the regular beers had been replaced by offerings from small breweries. These breweries are small because they brew beer that mainstream drinkers don't want. If that wasn't bad enough the only beer left was what hadn't already sold. The prices are steep. The food is OK but poor value for money. After the rather full dining room empties because people have finished there is little reason to stay - no decent beer, no conversation, no locals, no entertainment and no games.

Expected nothing more than a pub meal but was served food of a better quality than average. The meat is sourced from a local butcher and was very good. Waiter service is a nice touch rather than giving an order at the bar. Nice selection of beers too.

This is one of my local pubs ,I have eaten here a few times, food offering is somewhere between traditional pub food and one of the modern chains, it definitely isn't a gourmet pub but it has it's place. Food prices are slightly more expensive than other local pubs, you can however get a reasonable bottle of wine. Staff, mainly local boys and girls always seem friendly and polite.Steak Night (Monday), Pie Night (Tuesday) and Italian Night (Thursday) are all really good value - see previous posts, you may need to book on Mondays.

Eat here regularly and meals are always good quality and served hot, with a courteous smile and follow up attention. Steak nights and Italian nights are tremendous value at 2 meals and a bottle of wine £18.95 and £17.95 respectively. Bar drinks are on the expensive side.

The Britannia Inn has been tastefully refurbished and there is a lovely village Inn atmosphere here. I have dined here twice since the refurbishment and enjoyed both meals. The last visit was with family an a Monday night. We visited at 5.30pm and it was busy but we were seated and our order taken quickly. There is a good variety of dishes on the menu and specials on the board. We visited on "steak night", steaks for 2 and a bottle of wine for £18.95. We all chose steak and they were cooked to perfection with a choice of potatoes, chips, veg, salad and sauces. The food was hot and tasty. The wine was also very good. The service was excellent and the surroundings clean and comfortable.

i will keep this short, hard peas and carrots ,sticky tables they cant clean them properly! expensive and not good value , i will not be returning
