Excellent fish and chip shop always ready to serve with the cherry face and smile and the fish is absolutely top class as are the chips and the sausages absolutely excellent fish and chip shop

My sister went to this shop and bought two cod, chips, mushy peas and onion rings. The batter on the fish was so hard it could break your teeth, very little fish inside and dry, the mushy peas were tasteless and the chips were disgusting, cold and greasy.This was our first and last time, definitely don’t recommend as it all ended up in the bin. Wouldn’t even give it to her dog!

Always friendly staff and large portions, not the best fish and chips on the island but you won’t be disappointed with the food here.

I was served by a friendly girl with a lovely smile, she freshly cooked my lunch and it was delicious, light crispy batter, soft moist Roe. Can't wait for my next visit

If you visit during a busy period, then the food is nice a fresh and cannot complain. However, if you go near the end of the serving period or on a quiet day then you will unfortunately get food that has been sitting around for a while instead of cooked to order. In this case it will taste very greasy.

This fish shop is a hit and miss sometimes the food is good and other times it’s no good at all we only use this one as a last thing

The fish is very dry,with more batter than fish. Chips are disgusting,reheated without soubt. I think the owners need to take note of the reviews and and out the youngsters working there. This used to be a lovely local chippie, and needs to get some responsible staff who can turn this place around serving up food as it used to. Friday nights use to see customers queing out of the door, but not anymore. Owners please listen to your ex local customers, and I will certainly be one of them who returns,to that lovely fish n chips you once served up....

Got to be the worst chip shop around popped in here today at lunchtime a got served up the worst food around see photo enclosed when I took them back staff refused to refund me offered to change them just not really interested so avoid I would not even offer them to my dog that’s how bad they was

We got so called fish and chips from here. All I can say is large cod was disgusting and not large at all. No fish just burnt batter. Chips were over cooked. Staff were just kids and didn't have a clue. Have visited last summer and was lovely. Would now never go back and what a let down.

I don't like to bad mouth small businesses but this was poor...everything had the feeling that it had been left to go cold and re-cooked (ie chewy chips) tried it twice in case first time was a one off... having said the above I am a foodie and many people think its fine...maybe its me?

Love the staff love the service love their food a very good menu and they sell roles for chip butties delicious

My favourite chip shop on the island. Have been buying chips from there since I was 10 years old, some 43 years on and I still love their chips :)

chips ok, fish dry, seems to close early most days, it was really nice a few years ago and we went there quite a bit but there are better ones around now unfortunatley

Carlsberg don't make chip shops.... But if they did......... Probably the best on Sheppey. Consistently good quality chips and other items. Obviously use high quality oil and potatos. Give them a try.

Wow not used this place for years and won't be using again popped in here on way home for cod and chips and chicken and chips got home 4miles unwrapped meal we was looking forward to it looked like the chips had been reheated to within a second of there life we even waited five minute for the chicken to be cooked so would of thought at least the chips would of been fresh to and the cod was not much better won't be using again ended up in the bin best place for them

Greasy and full of oil not hot and smelt rough! Went in the bin! Large battered sausage and chips I really wouldn't bother staff very young probably didn't do chip shop food in home ec!

Yo vivo cerca y raramente uso el marino porque está siempre de mala calidad. Hace un par de noches mi esposa y yo llegamos a casa y nos dimos cuenta que no teníamos nada para cenar. Así que decidimos coger el bacalao y patatas fritas. Mala decisión. Eran terribles, grasienta y patatas fritas empapadas, sobre pescado cocinado con gruesas, masa suave. No creo que una pieza era cod. Puedo decir honestamente que estas eran los peores ejemplos de esta gran comida británica rápido que hemos tenido.

Pedí dos grandes piezas y 1 patatas fritas abadejo grande. Esperamos para el pescado fresco. Como fue sacado de la sartén me di cuenta cómo de color marrón oscuro y recocido parecía. A sólo 5 minutos más tarde me unwrapped en casa. El bateador de pescado era muy gruesas y probado gross, el abadejo no tienen un sabor agradable y las patatas fritas eran todas juntas forman una masa atrapados sólida. No hace falta decir que nunca volveremos aquí. Intenté llamando a quejarse, pero nadie contestó el teléfono. Lo intentaré de nuevo mañana. Una completa pérdida de dinero (12 libras. 00).

Tan decepcionado, pensé que tendríamos buen pescado viejo y patatas fritas para celebrar nuestro aniversario como ninguno de nosotros habíamos reservado un restaurante. ¡Nunca más! La comida era realmente horrible y prácticamente incomible.

It is a chip shop, not a cafe or restaurant.I wanted plaice and was prepared to wait a few minutes for it, A very pleasant girl served me and I soon had my meal to take home. I was pleased with the food well worth the few moments wait. Spotless and open area in which to wait made it fine, good job girls.

The service was ok but I was concerned about the colour of the chips they were a weird dark colour, could be the oil they use. It was the same for the batter on my piece of cod, very dark. Not the cleanest of chip shop.

I had fish and chips from here tonight, the fish was tiny and dry and the chips weren't that nice either.There's much better fish and chip shops on the island, so will be going elsewhere

Great service great food at affordable prices, best on the island , have used this chip shop for about 20 years, never been dissappointed

If you are wanting greasy mash instead of chips then this is the place to go,by the looks of it none of the staff are over 14 years old and it shows in their inability to act like adults or wear hairnets

we have a holiday home in minster, last weekend we thought we would have fish and chips for dinner for a change, so we went to this fish shop as we have been many times , (after all we have had a holiday home on the island for over 40 years} we ordered our food and went back to our home to eat only to find that they had not put in 2 bits of fish only one,in the bag so we went back straight away only to find they were closed. so as we only come down at the weekends we couldnt go back in the week so we thought we would come down to the shop to explain what had happened,the next week and the people in the fish shop couldnt do anything about it but said to go next door into londis which we did, after some argueing about it , the owner who happens to own londis aswell refused to give a refund on the piece of fish that we never had ,also threatened to call the police and throw me out of the shop, and took the mickey out of the way i spoke, but then what can you expect from the likes of him being a paksistana. , so we will not go to the fish shop or londis ever again and would advise people not to go there either or if you must to to check there bill.

I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and I feel that this year it has really gone downhill. The young staff don't seem to care about customer service- they are normally chatting to their friends who hang around the waiting area, there are no smiles etc and I never see many hygiene practices being used- such as hair nets or hats etc. The chips are always pretty nice and you always get a good portion size, however that is as good as it gets. I have requested many things that are advertised on the menu board- only to get told 'we haven't got that' and then told to choose from the few cooked things that they have left being held in the holding cabinet. Now I appreciate that if I went near closing time that it would be slim pickings, but I never go in that late at all. I wouldn't even have minded waiting for my request to be cooked, but it is never an option. I had a sausage in batter the other day, which had clearly been kept in the cabinet for ages, as it was unbelievably crispy (and not in a nice way). Unfortunately I will not be going back to Briny and I will be going to the one in Minster Village in future as you get what you ask for- even if you have to wait for it to be cooked sometimes.

Great choice of fish at great prices with regular speciality fish. Tasted great and staff were very friendly will definitely be back if in the area.

I have used the Briny Fish n Chip shop many times in the past and ha e Bern more than happy. However, I have just had the worst piece of fish ever. It was supposed to be haddock but was certainly NOT haddock. It was overcooked,dry and just awful. Seems like I was being "robbed off" with a piece of fish that they couldn't sell. So it's a sorry Briony but you have just lost a customer .
