Bricklayers Arms in Chichester

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here this weekend. Good choice of meats (and a vegetarian option) with lots of veg, and they really made an effort with a dietary requirement for one of our party. The bar staff were really friendly and the dogs got lots of treats from them. We all left full and couldn’t manage any of the lovely sounding desserts.

Food was a very good price, the portions were generous and it all tasted great. We had a 30 min wait for food, but were informed of this before we ordered. We were happy to wait as it was a lovely place to sit and enjoy our drinks.

This is a lovely pub, nice food and great service. I will definitely return again and recommend to others.

We had our volunteer Xmas celebration tonight at this lovely cosy pub The Xmas roast dinners were enjoyed by all . Great portions u defiantly wont leave hungry . Nothing was to much trouble great service great food great staff . All volunteers want to say massive thank you and we all will be back 😀

This was our first time at the Bricklayers, but will definitely not be the last. A lovely welcoming Pub with excellent food. We had a slight mix up with the order, with Burgers delivered rather than the steak pie which we ordered, but they were excellent, there was no way we were going to have them changed. We had the two course menu which it is said is not as large as the main course one. I hate to think what the size of the main is like, as this one defeated me and I had to reluctantly decline the dessert as I couldn't manage it. A really nice gesture the Manager said he would leave the cost of the drinks off the bill, to make up for the error, this is something we definitely did not want, but it was a really thoughtful touch. We plan to visit Midhurst again to have a better look round, and we will definitely be visiting the Bricklayers.

Fantastic friendly pub wonderful food at a very fair price. It’s now a must go to for us when we’re in Midhurst. You’d be foolish to not go there for a Sunday lunch as I guarantee you won’t find better in this or any other area.

The staff are brilliant, the food is to die for, portions are more than adequate, I recommend that you visit the Bricklayers Arms in Midhurst and try it out for yourself.

Went here for our wedding anniversary and it should be on everyone’s bucket list who live local. Wonderful all round, food, staff,atmosphere all first class. Trying to plan our next visit when they start serving there Sunday lunches in October. 10/10

We came in as a group of 12 with different allergies and needs and they absolutely delivered. Not only did they get our food out quickly but it was amazing quality. Great pub, nice beer garden and lovely staff.

My mum and her friend visited this lovely pub last Sunday, 7th May 2023. They have been before and liked it. However I am sad to report that their experience on this Sunday was below standard. They were denied a lunch because they are both in their 70s and can not eat a full lunch. They had both ordered a child’s roast and were told they can’t have this because they are not children. The Landlord, who is usually lovely I am told by my Mum, agreed that they could not have a child’s meal. Mum says both he and his staff were rude and offhand, she felt embarrassed and humiliated as well as being unfairly treated due to her age and small appetite. She did not want a large meal placed in front of her, most of which she wouldn’t be able to eat.

when i went 7-5-23 in the manners and customer services of the staff member was not what i would expect it seemed they lady who was working there did not want to be there. as well as the pepsi being flat

Sunday Lunch. Best in the area by far ! Every 2nd Sunday we go out for Sunday lunch and we have now found our go to. We will return every time. Portions - excellent Quality - excellent Variety of veg - excellent, way more than the other places Gravy - loads in a jug and delicious Spuds - excellent Service - landlord and chef wife excellent Seriously can’t fault it. Food was delicious and you get a great selection of veg to go with your main meal. Staff are very friendly and overall a good friendlt atmosphere.

We went for dinner on Friday after we had returned from a trip abroad. Sadly it was nearly empty so a lot,of people missed a very good meal. The Steak and Ale pie is particularly recommended, lots of perfectly trimmed meat and a generous amount of thick tasty gravy with a jug of extra just in case. Served with an excellent mash and fresh vegetables. Too full for a pud but washed it down with a very acceptable bottle of wine. An excellent value filling dinner.

Visited for Sunday roast lunch. Greeted quickly by landlord and had a choice of seating. Glad we booked as quickly filled up. Ordered the roast lunch and was not disappointed. Plenty of meat and potatoes on the plate which was joined with a wide range of vegetables. Excellent quality. I would recommend you come hungry, and book. The deserts looked great but we had no room left!

From the outside we were a little unsure but how wrong we were the staff were amazing we ordered at the bar and sat down and then came out a roast dinner to die for along with more veg than we could eat I would strongly recommend this pub if you want good food and a wonderful atmosphere at a very reasonable price…… we will be returning very soon and more often

Lovely local pub with lots of character. My son and I went for dinner here and menu offered a good selection of meals and the food was not only great value but delicious with huge portion sizes! Visited on last night before #2 lockdown. Despite the uncertain few weeks ahead, landlord and staff were bubbly and in good spirits. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Cannot fault this little gem of a pub and can’t wait to visit again post #2 lockdown, which ends, funnily enough, on my birthday! . Well worth five stars for fantastic food

We decided to have a trip to Midhurst and booked a table at the Bricklayers Arms for lunch, just in time before lock down. What a very warm welcome, excellent service, excellent food plus very large portion and beautifully presented. The pub had a lovely atmosphere, spotlessly clean. Overall was very enjoyable, the lady who looked after customers was very friendly, helpful, polite and made us feel very welcome. We shall definitely go back again for lunch, all the way from Surrey.

If you live in Midhurst as I do or are visiting our lovely town, don’t miss visiting The Bricklayers for excellent home cooked food at reasonable prices.We all need to support our local businesses in these difficult trading times - as the saying goes, if you don’t use it you could loose it and pubs are one of this countries traditions that do not exist anywhere else in the world.If you like really good food that doesn’t cost the earth, you are missing out if you do not support this excellent pub.

I don’t want to advertise this place too much, I may not get in as it’ll be too busy but to be honest it deserves to be.They have adapted this little gem nicely with regard to the current restrictions. It was spotless before but now it’s even cleaner (if that is possible). The staff are polite and all wear masks. Plenty of hand sanitizer and distance signs.The food? The best value in Sussex and trust me, I’ve eaten in many places not only in Sussex but around the world. If you can’t get in for a Sunday roast get a take away. Either way you’ll need to loosen your belt or skirt as the portions are huge and delicious.

Visited on the off chance, the plan was for a small lunch as had planned an evening meal. Well that didn’t happen, one of us had the prawn wrap the other a panini, the portions were huge and the food tasty, couldn’t eat it all but we were tempted to get a doggy bag for the chips because they were so good! Made to feel very welcome by staff and a local when trying to find the loo! Have been looking at the reviews and will be back for a Sunday roast soon.

I was specifically looking for a pub with good food and boy was I lucky with my choice of The Bricklayers Arms. I took my family there for lunch on last Friday lunchtime. The food was the best pub food that I have had in years. Beautifully cooked, good sized portions. The Landlord and his wife did us proud.

I love this little pub. It may be small, but it’s packed full of character, and has a bright and sunny garden. Warm and friendly landlords and staff who provide an excellent service. The Sunday roast is the best in Midhurst. Generous portions at a great price. Their pizzas are to die for too and even when sharing one, we usually can’t eat it all. I particularly like the smokey chicken one. In these challenging times, Alan and Emma have worked hard to make the pub Covid safe, with screens to protect their customers and staff, hand sanitising stations and a very well thought out one-way system. If you haven’t visited yet, give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.....oh, and the beer is great too!

Without a doubt the BEST Sunday roast in the area! I can highly recommend their weekday menu to. There is such a lovely variety to choose from. Great atmosphere & company to. DEFINITELY WORTH A VISIT.

Excellent Sunday Luncheon During Lockdown! I missed the best Sunday luncheon when lockdown started but now Emma and Alan are doing a take away option. I just wish I’d taken a photo before I started to eat!I challenge anyone in the area to cook a roast at home of the same quality for such a great price.Thank you!
