Brick Lane Brasserie in Tower Hamlets

I was exploring my tastecard options and found this restaurant and thought I’d give it a go, as I am a fan of Bangladeshi food, but it was a shambles. I showed them my tastecard discount, but they said they couldn’t verify it (?) they then said they’d provide the 50% discount anyway, and so I ordered a meal which was around £32 total. After I finished my meal, they said the bill was too low for the discount to be valid (there was no guidance of any minimum price on the discount). That’s fine, what’s next? I pay the bill and leave the restaurant and moments later I see that the bill is £40 on the receipt!

If I could rate it 10, I would. Recommended a top tier dish by staff, tender as you like mate. Such an accommodating atmosphere, perfect for couples and groups! Absolutely loved it, best I’ve had in ages!

I’ve worked in hospitality businesses and various indian / pan asian restaurants myself but I have to hand it to them, the food here was nothing short of incredible. Started off with some poppadoms and the chutney. I was particularly impressed by the chilli mango which was a perfect combination with the onion chutney which had some carrots in it too, which if I may add, is a unusually great addition to the chutney tray. We followed up with the lamb chops starter, perfectly marinaded and served on a sizzling platter with onions and some mint sauce on the side. For main dish I myself tried the hyderabadi style lamb curry. Slow cooked perfectly tenderised marinaded generous pieces of meat! Service & chat was great. Friendly staff. I think this is definitely one of my latest favourites. Highly recommend!

Outstanding from the outset. Great atmosphere and Mamou was excellent service. My child had several allergies but they were very accommodating.

Absolutely one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a London restaurant. Shocking. My son and I were enticed into the restaurant by a man in a parka offering free beer and 25% of the menu. When we went in and sat down, we were presented with a menu where the average price was around £16.00 just for a main meal and £26.00 for a simple curry with rice. When I mentioned to the waiter that I thought the prices were expensive, he immediately called another man over who said, ‘ what is your problem? ‘ I said to him that I thought the prices were expensive and not what I was used to in Brick Lane. ( I have been eating in Brick Lane for over 25 years) . He said ‘what do you expect? Why do you think we are giving you 25% off’. I told him the prices were exorbitant and said I had eaten an Indian in Brick Lane only the previous week and the price was less than half. He then said, if you don’t want to eat, get out’. I said, ‘please can I speak to the manager?’. He said, ‘He’s not here, get out’. I said, ‘ ok , we will leave’. He then rushed off and came back with a bill for £17.70, saying, ‘Pay the bill and get out’. My son said, ‘but we haven’t eaten anything’. The man said you’ve had beers and popadoms, none of which we’d touched. I said, ‘this is disgraceful’ , so he then Snatched the beer and with 3 or 4 other staff literally, pushed us out of the restaurant. When outside, I said to the man in the parka that He had deceived us and what they were doing was wrong. Then , two of the waiters and the ‘man’ came out and started threatening us physically and insulting me and my son and calling us paupers and insulting us accusing us of being scroungers. I told them I was shocked and appalled by their behaviour and they started threatening us and one waiter came up into my face and threatened me with violence. It was absolutely disgraceful. I work in hospitality in London and have done so for 35 years and never ever in my life suffered such ignominy and shame ever. The way this restaurant treated us was completely disgraceful and shocking to think that their staff , several of them, were prepared to intimidate, threaten and physically and verbally abuse customers in such a way and to the extent that I was considering calling the police due to their intimidation and threatening behaviour. I will never, ever eat in Brick Lane again as long as the Brick Lane Indian Brasserie is open. The worst most frightening, experience I have ever had in hospitality in London. Do not eat here!!

Genuinely lovely spot on Brick Lane, there's so many options and it's easy to get lost but you know you will be well treated here. Love my chicken jalfrezi, just spicy enough.

When we enter the restaurant they tell us about a discount and free drinks but when we are inside there are absurd conditions!! very bad service

The food was excellent. We booked a reservation for Christmas dinner at 19:00. When we got there, the staff informed us the kitchen was closing soon (?). This was strange since I recall later reservation times available when I booked it. As I said, the food was outstanding, it was too base we felt rushed (we ended up being the last customers in there shortly after 20:00).

I must say, I have been to many restaurants in my life time, but this restaurant tops it all, absolutely amazing, amaizing food, the quality and generous portion was just outstanding. The meat was of quality, the hospitality was at it’s best. My family really enjoyed the food and the hospitality. Thank you so much for a great evening at your restaurant.

First curry in Brick Lane and didn't disappoint. Didn't have access to full menu as we were getting the £20 a head offer. Chicken bhuna and chicken dopiaza were fantastic as were the samosas. Service was excellent. Can highly recommend.

Visiting London from the U.S. and decided on lunch at Brick Lane. I've never had Indian cuisine before but my son encouraged my wife and I to try.....so glad I did! I love hot/spicy foods and our meals at Brick Lane were perfect....not overboard but a good amount of heat! Service was on point and we couldn't have been happier with our decision! I will certainly visit Brick Lane Brasserie again in the future Thanks for everything!

We had an enjoyable meal, we tried a good cross section across all of the offerings and spice ranges. The lamb chops were tender and immensely flavorful. The service was friendly and supportive of our questions. I highly recommend.

This was an excellent choice for delicious Indian food. The staff were friendly and helpful; the food was delicious; the drinks were delightful. They will bargain with you for a good deal and it was worth it in every way. I ordered the poppadoms, samosas, butter chicken, naan bread and rice pilau. The only reason I didn't finish the meal was because there was so much of it, I got too full. If you get the chance, it's worth going!

I had a great lunch here. I stared with King Prawn Puri. The puri was light and fluffy but the actual prawns and the sauce were to die for. Spicier than most places I’ve had this (which was a plus for me) the sauce was tasty and topped with fresh coriander. For the main I had chicken rezalla, motor paneer and pilau rice. The chicken was good quality, in a thick tomato and pepper sauce. The motor paneer was excellent. I couldn’t eat it all so I got the rest to take away - which I rarely do. The service was good, they checked in on me, even the chef checked I was ok. I have been here before and will definitely be going back.

Brilliant. So friendly and food delicious. Lamb Balti perfect, chicken biryani so tasty and tandoori grilled chicken so tender. The garlic Nana and mushroom pilau were delicious and poppadoms and dips so tasty. Cobra beer completed our feast. Fabulous atmosphere made our Saturday night visit spot on .
