We regularly visit the “Wessex Flyer” in Hengrove. Faye (the duty manager) and her team are all working together to make our experience very enjoyable. The food is excellent, and the drinks. A special shout-out to Casey, who served us today, a lovely young lady as are all the staff. Faye goes that extra mile to check with all the customers that everything is OK. Highly recommend.

Lovely breakfast at The Wessex Flyer today lots of food choices hot and cold. The hot food was lovely and hot we have already booked to come again next week great for the adults and the kids too great selection. Also lovely staff very helpful and welcoming

Came here for the Sunday carvery. And what happened shocked us…my wife and I is hearing impaired and Andy at the host greeted us with a smile and showed us to our table. After around 10 mins we went to the till where they understood our situation and helped us order our carvery’s. Now this is what shocked us.. the young man with glasses was very patient with us. He pointed out the 3 meats and insured we had a great experience. Once we got our meals. He was very glad and use BSL (British sign language) to say goodbye and thank you. Not many people have the patience and politeness as they do at the Wessex flyer.

This a great place to eat. The food was really nice and good selection. The staff were amazing and it’s reasonably price.

We had a table for 6 for Sunday lunch. We had 5 having carvery and a mixed grill and all were great meals, the staff were all lovely and we had really good service! Would highly recommend 👌

Came in for Sunday lunch and was greeted by a lovely waitress called Keira, upon arrival I asked her about the vegetarian options on the Sunday carvery. She gave me a full run down of all the things I could choose from on the carvery as well as the main menu, she also helped when ordering puddings and what was the best to choose from. The food overall was 10/10 the vegan chicken and veg was one of the best vegan options I’ve ever had in a pub and the chocolate brownie was amazing. The whole team were very kind and helpful and a special thanks to smooth when taking our order and being so patient, will definitely be returning and recommending to others.

The food is..is to die for...and cory the chef makes a banging blue steak..a lovely place to go to .staff are amazing 100%

Booked a table for 5.30pm and the pub was booming had a table in the back end of the restaurant nice clean and quiet. We had a look though the menu and we quickly found what meals we wanted. Headed to the till and amber served us, she was very polite and respectful, headed back to the table and when our food come out Keira & andy brought it, asked if we needed any sauces, what can I say the food was perfect, both streaks cooked to perfection and burger and pie was delicious. Ordered puds and smooth and Keira brought them out and the puds was fantastic.

Came here for a family meal and was pleasantly surprised with The Wessex Flyer. Food was enjoyed by everyone and puds were good too! Also good Vegan options which was appreciated by family members. I must say a special thank you to Isaac who was an amazing host throughout. He was very attentive to all of our needs and was extremely polite. His energy was very infectious and I hope to see you again next time! Also served by a lovely young lady who was also super helpful, but I unfortunately didn't catch her name. We all agreed we would return again. Thank you!

Faye made us very welcome, from taking our order to bringing our desserts, shes a credit to your restaurant, definitely will be returning.

The staff here made the experience so much more enjoyable. Chris especially was super friendly and chatty, his colleague Rihanna too. We ate their several times over the weekend when we stayed next door. He always asked how our day was etc and was genuinely a lovely chap. Food was nice too.

Dirty tables, slow service, poor quality good. Often stay in premier Inns and eat in the adjoining restaurants but this was pretty grim for dinner and breakfast.

We have visited this restaurant a few times this year and must say the staff are absolutely lovely. So accommodating and friendly, always willing to help with anything you need. We were served our food by a lovely waitress Kelly who has served us before, I must say she is a very polite and delightful young lady who has always been extremely helpful. The food was extremely delicious and hot, we would definitely recommend coming here for food and drinks, all staff are so friendly and food was amazing.

Here for dinner and drinks with friends after getting home from Cheltenham. Had the chicken and pulled ham pie, was excellent. Locals seem up for a laugh, and beer and cocktails flowed all night.

The staff was very good and polite and friendly. When we went it wasn’t busy and was quiet. The drinks was good and not too expensive.

Not been here before so thought I'd cone in with my partner just to give it a go. All I have to say is how the staff there really will go above and beyond. Went on Sunday mid afternoon for the Carvery but very disappointed to find there was no cabbage or stuffing on the Carvery deck.I can understand that items may be unavailable from time to time but there were no substitutes nor any mention of this at time of purchasePoor compared to pre COVID when the Carvery also came with help yourself tomato soup and crusty bread.In future, I will ensure I will check availability first before purchasing.The cottage pie would be better if it also came with chips /fries rather than just peas as not worth the money.

Only time the price of a pint here is acceptable is when that Jen girl is working could neck 30 of them just to be served by her great business tactic hiring someone so stunning but actually with a personality constantly bringing up the atmosphere props to you guys and to her

Visited here with my family for a meal and get together.Was greeted by a loverly gentlemen who I later found out was called Isaac.He and the staff couldn’t be more helpful,food was wonderful and if the management could pass on my thanks to there staff and especially Isaac I would grateful….Will definitely be returning as it’s a loverly place to be.

Unfortunately we had to abandon eating here. The staff member greeting us rolled his eyes when I said we had a Premier Inn meal deal voucher. He told us to get our menus from the bar nd find a table. On sitting down, we found a list of all the things on the menu that they didn't have. I appreciate that this isn't their fault but it would have been nice to know before sitting down. It made the our choices very limited. The table and menu were both extremely sticky. In fact the menu stuck to the table which was really unpleasant. Perhaps we were just unlucky as other review are excellent. We got a refund from Premier Inn and headed off elsewhere for dinner.
