Stopped here while travelling back up the road to Scotland. Food is basic but you don’t expect much from a Brewers Fayre. Jam roly poly for dessert was extremely dry with a distinct lack of jam within which was a shame.

Demi gave brilliant service in the soft play was so lovely and even managed to get my 3 yo out of the soft play at closing time with minimal stress from me 😂👌🏽

Went today for a meal with 6 friends. Absolutely beautiful. Very quick service and lovely staff. Will definitely be back. Had fish chips and mushy peas. Delightful

I arrived for meal alone whilst my husband was attending local event. Was served very quickly and made to feel at home by the very friendly staff. Steak was cooked well and was even able to change chips for salad. Really enjoyed meal after thinking it was going to be an awkward situation.

Excellent place, wonderful staff without exception (but especially a young lad by the name of Paul) who can't do enough for you. Service has always been great, the soft play is a favourite of my little girl and the food has always been very good. We're regulars here for all of the above reasons. 6 out of 5

Came for some tea, pretty slow service, very loud children screaming, food was alright (nothing special) ketchup came in a bowl instead of a bottle! The bathroom was filthy, frootshoot bottles everywhere, toilet role was on the ceiling, overall average experience.

Took the children during half term so was quite busy in the children's soft play area. Was served by a lady named Demi who was absolutely amazing with our daughter who is on the autism spectrum. Went out of her way for us and always had time to speak with my daughter who interrupts as she doesn't understand social queues and all this whilst she also had to deal with an unpleasant and rude family at the same time. She is such a lovely staff member and deserves recognition

Great little place to keep the kids entertained while you eat and decent food at a fair price. The only complaint would be the poor young woman managing the play area had to deal with older kids which weren't supposed to be on there and then abused by the parents which should have been dealt with by a senior member if staff. Wasnt nicecseeing her crying but was a great day otherwise

Visited here as a couple before the Portsmouth game at Carlisle and booked a table. Booking was easy by phone and they were very helpful, plus if you eat on a match day, your drinks come in glasses rather than plastic cups which is great. The food was lovely, although I forgot to take a photo until our was half eaten. You also get 20% off food with a Blue Light Card if you have one. We found it to be perfect and included free parking, so if we ever play Carlisle again, we will be back. Thank you

Thought we would try the carvery arrived at 1 pm no turkey left ,beef last few slices which we were unable to cut ,but was told there was no more to bring out ,only the gammon was decent roast .potatoes were not crispy as were pilled on top of each other ,same as parsnips soggy .we did complain but was told they would speak to kitchen staff .so dissapointing ,won’t be back Should have taken a pic of the beef sorry I didn’t

Visited lakelandgate on the 9th Feb for dinner. We were seated promptly by the Manager Tom who was very welcoming and pleasant. We ordered the Haddock and chips, the service at the bar was quick and efficient the staff were very pleasant. The meal came very quickly and was lovely and hot, and cooked to perfection. We ordered banoffee cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. I always fined the staff friendly and happy to help. Would highly recommend. Thank you Lakelandgate.

Would not return to this mouse infested place it makes me feel sick to think there is mice running around the restaurant don’t even want to imagine what behind the scenes look like! Absolute dump of a place would not recommend to anyone

First time visiting this brewers fayre. Great service from Lottie and lovely food. Nice softplay for kids to have a run around.

The staff were amazing.huge shout out to the manager. We didn’t book and it was breakfast with Santa. The place was bouncing and she opened up tables in the bar , which accommodated my husband in a wheelchair and me on crutches. They were run off their feet but stayed polite and kind. They kept the hot and continental buffet well stocked. In fact they were more efficient than the poor coffee machines as they couldn’t keep up with demand. You really need to give them more staff when running promotions like this . You really need to hang on to them as they are real assests to your company. Food was good quality, fresh and great selection. Impressive value for money. Nothing was too much trouble for front of house or the kitchen. The place was clean and they cleared tables as quickly as they could. The place does need some routine maintenance on things like cupboard doors at the buffet areas.

Lovely staff and good soft play, as always, however the portions were uncharacteristically tiny! Paid extra for large and would hate to see a small. Never had such small portions here before and quite disappointed. Wonder if there's new kitchen staff as this was enough to make us not return here.

Having visited over the Xmas and leading up-to New Year must praise the “Festive Menu” that was on and say how enjoyable it was “ Turkey with all the Xmas trimmings” was exceptional followed by “Profiterole’s “ it was so enjoyable along with the “Excellent Service” provided by the staff all so customer friendly where nothing was any trouble. It was so good as stated I visited again before “New Year” and again excellent Xmas food and service couldn’t be faulted. The Manager Tom has got staff that’s well trained and Customer Focused at all times. As stated friendly staff and all parts of premises exceptionally clean and hygienic.

Went in with my family as someone who works at Brewers Fayre, I wanted to take them there to eat and drink and take advantage of the staff discount. I provided my privilege card number although the manager wanted to see the physical card when all she needed was the number to associate myself to the store. I offered to provide my ID and ring up the store to confirm and the manager didn’t really care, all she was interested in is getting away. Even when the server went over to her she looked fed up and shrugged me away on first attempt. Besides the manager being rude and disinterested on providing a good service. Overall the place was clean, service was good and food good. Although, Men’s toilets could do with a refurb.

We stayed at the Premier Inn nextdoor and paid for breakfast which was in this Brewers Fayre. When we arrived we had to join a long queue behind non-residents just to give our room number. The girl who eventually took our details and showed us to our table treated us like we were an inconvenience, she was so rude and miserable. Then the real problems began. No clean cups for the tea/coffee machine, which was situated next to the arriving guests queue so you had to squeeze past them. No glasses for juice. No juice. Hot breakfast had a massive queue then most of the items had run out so empty dishes everywhere and the staff were in no hurry to refill. I went to ask a member of staff about it and she was as rude and dismissive as the first girl. The chef finally brought out more food but at his own slow pace, no sense of urgency. Then as soon as he put the filled dishes down they were emptied by the numerous people who’d been waiting ages for food so the problem started again for the rest of the queue. Yet despite the obvious lack of competent staff and food they still kept allowing in paying visitors from outside the Premier Inn so the place was rammed. I would recommend that if you do stay in the Premier Inn you avoid the breakfast option in this place at all costs. The manager urgently needs to address the attitude and performance of the staff, they were appalling. I have given 1 star because when the food finally did arrive it was very nice. But not worth the hassle.
