We stopped at Breakers for a rest whilst walking on the beach at St Agnes, there is parking halfway down the hill and it is very steep getting up and down the hill. This did cause me a few pain issues due to a hip injury hence our rest stop at Breakers. A very snug little place with friendly staff and dogs were welcomed. We ordered toasted teacakes that were huge and had plenty of butter to spread on them, my husband had a pot of tea and I had an orange hot chocolate, they did not have any cream for this on the day of our visit, however, I think it might have been too much with cream too as it had a delicious orange chocolate flavour and several chocolate orange segments served with it. Definitely worth the struggle up and down the hill.

Cute little cafe, lovely food and the best coffee we’ve ever had! It’s a shame there isn’t more seating as the view is great, especially if it’s raining. This is a gem of a cafe! Having spent time at the beach we stopped at the cafe as my little boy had a slight marine related injury. The cafe staff couldnt do enough to help, getting him some 1st aid and then a Freddo bar. came down to St Agnes from London for a summer break after working in the NHS during COVID. I have been so careful and wearing masks and gloves to make sure I protect the local people. I was so shocked when ordering an ice cream the staff did not have gloves on, wear masks, use sanitiser and kept touching thier faces. I worked so hard during COVID- The least they can do is protect thier customers. They even served a heavily pregnant woman with an ice cream - hands on the cone and no hygiene, hands all over thier face and utensils. Very worrying.https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g528877-d4066302-r759783722-Breakers_Beach_Cafe-St_Agnes_Truro_District_Cornwall_England.html#

We visited this cafe yesterday to purchase two ice creams. We had to wait a little while, which was fine, but once served the lady was quite surly and abrupt along with her colleague. The food we had tasted great and views of the cove are fantastic from the café. It's a shame there is not enough seating to sit and enjoy it all. It's a small place and mainly caters for beach goers so understandable. It just makes it a little too expensive for a takeaway or have to balance on the steep street bench.

We stopped here a week ago for tea and a pasty after walking from Porthowan. My first attempt to ask for above was met with a lady abruptly telling me no pasties left and not much of anything else, so I left. The following day my partner went into order and managed to get two pasties and two teas, but again was served by the same woman who was very abrupt and said they were shutting up in 20 minutes, so we could NOT sit and enjoy our food inside! We then overheard her saying to a local in a loud voice how she could not wait until October when the tourist season was over! I think this woman would be better off in another profession entirely, as her unfriendly, unhelpful manner is not suited to a tourist cafe. Perhaps they should remember that the tourists are in fact the people who buy the food and drink, pay her salary and keep the cafe in business!!

Myself and a friend came in during the Easter holidays, around 15:50 looking to sit and have a cake and a coffee. We were served very quickly but also very abruptly told they were shutting at 4pm and will be closing the door and cleaning around us. We were told many times that the lady behind the counter that she was “very tired, and really wanted to go home” Understandably, working in a cafe for long hours is tiring as I work in a cafe myself, but this made me and my company feel rather uncomfortable. I feel closing at 4pm during busy times such Easter school holidays is madness and practically throwing trade away! The beach that day wasn’t particularly quiet! When we suggested going somewhere round the corner, she did not hesitate to tell us that they also closed at 4pm. If that is the case then I think all the businesses in that area need to seriously reconsider their opening and closing times during school holidays and tourist season!

Staff or whoever working in there so rude. Left without ice creams and will not ever use it again on our regular visits to St Agnes. Friends daughter verbally abused by staff as she was sitting on the bench outside waiting for us, was VERY rudely told to get off the bench. It is hard to understand why some people go into the catering and service industry. The manageress at this establishment is one of the rudest people we have come across for a long time. Curt, unhelpful, unfriendly and rude. She may not care whether visitors who are on holiday return but with locals and at lower season times she may regret having such a poor attitude towards customers. It couldn’t be in greater contrast to the friendly attitude we experienced next door at Schooners where we had a wonderful meal with super service. We used the beach cafe about 5 days to buy hot drinks and lunch. The staff serving were working hard but the organisation seems to be wrong on some days. There is only one coffee machine so if ordering 3 hot drinks they aren't very hot when receiving. The food is handed over when it is ready so a typical lunch order would arrive in 4 batches over a period of 20 minutes when busy - first the hot and cold drinks and sandwiches, then the pasty, then the toasted sandwich and lastly the chips.

After we had paid over £7 for two dry scones and two cups of awful tea, we were informed that we were only allowed take away cups as they did not want anymore washing up and she did not want to incur extra staff costs. When I requested a fruit scone I was told the only fruit available was jam. My clotted cream was congealed and the milk was added to the tea before the teabags were removed and had had a chance to brew.It was airless inside and the windows need a clean. When I visit a cafe and order a skinny latte (i.e. latte made with skimmed milk) and get asked "is semi skimmed OK" I get slightly grumpy. Semi skimmed latte is not a skinny latte - and where I come from the majority of people drink "skinny" coffees, so for a cafe not to have skimmed milk available is a huge missed opportunity as it simply means I will drink less of it! That said, the coffee we were served was good and the view from the window seat was absolutely amazing. When Schooners re-opens this place will need to up their game if they want to compete.

Do you have any cups for the wine I asked- no replied the young girl serving, perhaps a coffee cup then, which was forthcoming. This place is right on the beach and could be, should be, a great little place, but no half hearted service and lousy stock control make it just the usual British Seaside rip-off.

There were varied reasonable group sizes (he even got a personal lesson on one day) and the teachers were amazing with the children (he loved Jaydeen), very friendly, smiley and loads of positive praise, high fives and thumbs up. He was standing by the end of the first lesson and able to come in on the board nearly every time by day five.A lovely relaxed booking system, lessons are two hours long and can be booked individually or in groups of 5 (with a discount) with friendly people, highly recommended.

Bacon & sausage sandwich was the worst ever. Low grade deep fried value sausage, cheap bread & the slowest service possible. Should have walked out when told they don't turn the friers on until they get their 1st order in the morning but as with Lewsey Lous up the road, they've got a captive audience.A suggestion - rather than drifting along slowly closing at the end of the season, pick a date & give it 100% until then, and then close

With a prime position on Trevaunance Cove, Breakers Cafe should be fantastic. Instead, food is average at best, menu very limited (in contrast to Genki up the road), not particularly cheap (given what it is) and standards of cleanliness really poor. If the owner isn't in, the young, staff struggle to cope with busy periods and the standards of the cafe slip alarmingly - not their fault, they appear highly inexperienced and really shouldn't be left alone to run a cafe like this. I hope this review will be seen as constructive as we live part of the year in St Agnes and really want this place to be good. The menu should be so much better - the kitchen is a fair size and seems reasonably well equipped - the days of people being happy with non fresh/pre-prepared stuff are over, but if you get this place right - clean, efficient and with an interesting/varied menu, you could actually charge a little more and certainly business would build dramatically. If it were mine, I'd also consider longer opening hours - at least in season - and possibly open for more of the year. Trevaunance Cove always has a decent numbers of surfers even in winter and cornish coastal path walkers. With consistent opening, a small place like this can build a year round business.

Firstly, I am local….. Secondly, I speak the truth… Thirdly, I am glad that the prices remain reasonable to the working class family man…… Although the decor might be a little bit tiring, the hospitality compensates…… On the last at least…. This place does amazing food…. Fantastic variety and the special board fluctuates…. I just don’t think that anybody that is down earth Can fully understand what it must be like to run a business. It’s like the same goes spread all your cards out and choose wisely. I have eaten all over the world up and down throughout the UK…. And I don’t remotely care what negativity comments I read on here about the coppice…. I salute every individual under the Employment of the establishment. Therefore, I totally recommend anyone to try this place. If you are too posh to wash and this place is not for you.. And if you do not suffer by piles Then clearly, you are the perfect backside …. And as Dell boy once said…. Bonjour …..

My elderly parents stayed overnight at this charming local inn. They were, from the start, treated with huge care and respect. Staff went above and beyond to cater for their needs which included swapping rooms to allow easier access, housing (and charging) a mobility scooter at some inconvenience and finally ensuring they left and returned safely from their social commitment. Their kindness was amazing. And the room itself was fresh, clean and well maintained with all the charm you would expect in this lovely building.

Went for a coffee and was told could only have take away as it was 15:40 on a Sunday, my wife and I are both disabled and I have an ostomy and asked to use the loo and was told I could only if I buy something, so it cost me 7 quid for two takeaway coffees just to use the loo....thanks national trust

We booked afternoon tea for family celebrations. Afternoon tea was presented beautifully and was delicious. Our waitress Pinka was friendly and looked after us. The special offer was a bonus too. Highly recommended!
