Bramwell's Tea Room in Scarborough

We'd been walking around Filey on a wet morning and were looking for a spot of lunch. This place fitted the bill, service is friendly and we both had the soup of the day - clam chowder which came with a bread roll.

Tea and cake, it was a lovely brew. hope to visit again soon .It is up for sale at the moment so hope it stays as a Tea room .A day trip to Filey whilest staying in Scarborough

A great place to stop for coffee and cake. We had a cafetière of Columbia coffee Coconut and lime cake and Victoria sponge - n everything was great. The staff are excellent, very friendly and efficient. Vintage decor, cosy and busy. Traditional menu with breakfast and lunch sandwiches, everything looked good.

Visited here today with friends in need of a hot drink and a sandwich, and it did not disappoint! The two ladies that served us, (sisters I think), were very friendly and welcoming ... The crab sandwiches were delicious ... the cake and scones were divine ... and the tea was good strong Yorkshire tea! There was a good selection of coffees too which the waitresses was happy to impart her knowledge of, so all in all - Perfect!

Popped in to this quaint tea room after a long, cold walk. Was greeted by a really friendly waitress. Had crab sandwiches which were delicious. Good range of teas and coffees available.

had lovely drinks etc here last year and was again in the area and called in for lunch on Friday 6th may 2022. managed to get a table. A great menu and fairly priced. The food was of good quality as were the drinks. staff very customer focussed

For years I have been walking past this place. I don’t know why I’ve never been in. Went yesterday and I will definitely be returning, it’s lovely. Menu is fab, offering cheese on toast which many places don’t do! Cakes and scones great also, homemade of course rather than the bought in ones that every other cafe offers. Service was excellent and atmosphere was a real cafe feel. I’m a Yorkshire tea snob but I was offered their own tea to try and I can safely say it’s just as good if not better!! See you guys and girls soon. I need a jacket potato with chilli and cheese and it’s best I make my way through the homemade soup menu too

Visited here twice within the weeks holiday. Good menu, drinks and food was of a good quality. service was fantastic with a very friendly team who were very customer focussed. there are also a couple of tables outside. Price wise very good indeed

We were greeted to lovely friendly welcome. The tables and chairs were thoroughly cleaned before we sat down . We had plenty of tea and extra hot water. The cakes and scones were fresh and tasty, served with what tasted like beautiful home made raspberry...

What a lovely place. Staff were very friendly, first class food, tea was served in white china cups. Overall, a lovely experience. Will visit again.

They have lovely coffee and cakes. The staff are alwaysvery pleasant and friendly.We try to visit regularly.

Always go to Bramwell's after a brisk walk on the Brigg and it's always a treat. Lovely staff take your order at the table and you are sure of a warm welcome and a sincere smile. The tea is served with a jug of hot water and delicate china cups. Although the homemade cakes look inviting I usually have a cream tea! Strange choice in February? Not at all. Scones always fresh and the proper clotted cream make it a real treat. And incredibly good value. Will be back soon.

We enjoyed a wonderful hot chocolate and blue mouintain coffee with a crab sandwich and scone with jam and butter. The service was good and the drinks and food wonderfully filling. Well worth a visit.

Welcoming and friendly cafe. Our dogs were offered water and dog biscuits. Tea was served in white China, the crab was fresh, the side salad crisp. The cafes interior felt authentic and delightful.

This is an old-style cafe and is great! Staff were friendly and welcoming. I called in for coffee and cake - there was a selection of home made cakes. Also on the menu were sandwiches and snacks such as jacket potato. Customers with push chairs, and those with poor mobility, were helped in as soon as staff saw them at the door.

On a cold December lunchtime we found this little haven, great crab sandwiches and a nice cuppa, what could be better! Lovely smile from the waitress!

Our tour bus dropped us off in Filey for a couple of hours and as we wandered round we spotted Bramwell’s Tea Rooms.As we walked through the door we were greeted by The friendliest of people both staff & other customers .We ordered tea ,toasted tea cake & apple cake .The staff never stopped smiling .I commented as I paid how happy everyone was ,the lady said we’re all a bit mad,that helps..If we ever visit Filey again,it will be a beeline for Bramwell’s

We returned to this café after not been in the area for several years and were heartened to see it hadn't been changed and still had the great selection of coffees it has always had such as Kenyan, Columbian, Blue Mountain etc as well as more regular ones. Nice ambience and friendly original owner and staff. Just wished we lived nearby!

To save a walk from the golf club car park, we parked close to the town centre. Remembering our visit last time, we once again called at this establishment.

Hadn't planned to visit this place but in the end glad that we did. Very friendly service, helped my mom with her wheelchair into the cafe and very considerate of my 7 year old nephew. Generous, fresh sandwiches, I had the crab others had ham and beef and good tea. Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere.

First time in Filey and we happened upon This team room. The decor and ambience is fantastic- like stepping back in time in a really good way. The attention to detail was great- even the music. I was spoilt for choice with the cakes and the coffee was the best I’ve had in ages - can’t recommend this place enough.

We have been to Bramwell's tea room many times, your always get a very warm welcolme from the members of staff, they are always very polite and helpful. The menu is well stocked, and priced well. The Tea room is always busy but still tables free. Very nice scones and bacon butties. Looking forward to coming back next year. Best cafe in Filey.

Dropped in for cakes and a drink. Surprised to see Horlicks on the menu but that, the tea, the latte, the cakes and scones were all excellent. Staff were attentive and friendly. A really nice experience at a fair price.

We were staying in Flamborough but visited Filey and saw this quaint and quirky tea room. Never been in it before but was not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely go in again if we are to visit Filey.

Always feels like visiting an old friend - there is nothing like sitting near the window sipping a hot chocolate and eating a delicious slice of home made cake and watching the world go by - Staff always really friendly and courteous and my wife insists the cakes are heavenly

Visited here on a lovely sunny morning. Ordered coffees and toasted teacake. Good menu with plenty of choice with delicious looking cakes on offer. Pleasant surroundings with ols crockery and decor. Only downside were the toilets which are situated in an outside building - could do with some refurb.

We were staying in a caravan at Cayton Bay. We walked the Cleveland way from Cayton Bay to Filey and we were looking for a tea room to have a drink and a rest. We found this lovely tea room. There was plenty of room around the tables to sit comfortably. The staff were very friendly, the selection of speciality teas was good and of course the cakes were lovely. If we are in the area again we would certainly go back here.

Having passed a few tea rooms that were fairly quiet we came to Bramwells which was nearly full... I can see why ...A delightful tea room and friendly helpfull staff... my Chocolate Dream was delightful and the cakes looked lovely.. A must visit... if you can get inn.

We walked in looking for coffee after walking around Filey in the cold on a Sunday morning. Wasn't too keen on the coffee but I'm a little particular about mine but the cakes were nice. We had the coconut-lime and the orange-lemon. The staff were lovely and very friendly and the decor was very cute and quirky.

I'd say it's more of a few room than a face as it's mostly cakes etc. But we had some lovely plowmans and sandwiches. No kids menu tho. Clean and friendly staff. Quite small and the one toilet is outside. Would recommend.

We fell in here in need of a drink and snack. The service is great, the menu varied (they do Horlicks!) and the ambience relaxed.

We called in here for drink s and a cake. There was a special offer of tea or coffee, we had both and a slice of cake all for £8.00. tea & cappuccino were lovely and hubby had fruit cake and I had carrot cake both of which were excellent.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with hubby on a recent trip to Foley. Had a lovely ploughmans with gorgeous cheeses and crusty baguette. The sign was turned to closed whilst we were there but we weren't rushed at any time. I had a gorgeous Ferrero rocher latte with my lunch. I finished off with Apple and bramble cake which I would recommend. Good prices

On the fifteen of September our coach driver dropped us in Filey for an unexpected two hour break.

Bramwells is a tearoom in the old fashioned style, which I like. The menu is limited to sandwiches, hot snacks and cakes, but is just about right for a tearoom, and they have an excellent selection of specialty teas and coffees.

Visited here after a wander round Filey for some lunch. Tea room was busy but we were made to feel very welcome, decided to order 2 ploughmans, one for me & one for my partner, both my children had food too. Drinks were bought to table quickly after ordering & food wasn't far behind.

We had just arrived in Filey for a couple of days stay and popped into the first cafe we saw pretty much. We dropped lucky as this cafe is a little gem. We had sandwiches which came with a side salad and my husband also had a scone which was very nice. Coffee was available in a cafetiere and my tea was hot and strong just as I like it, The staff were efficient and friendly. The rest of the cakes and scones on offer all looked excellent. Next time we visit we will be sure to return.

Sat on the seating outside as we had the dog but it was a warm day, so nice to sit in the fresh air. Only called for a drink but saw the cake and we just had to try it. It was delicious, moist and tasty with a tangy icing; YUM.

Having arrived in Filey for the day we parked on the main road. Weather poor so popped into this tea room for coffee and parking advice, as main road limited to 1hr. Coffee served in a cafetiere which was great and I decided to have a crab sandwich. Wife had a cake. Both were very tasty. Reasonably priced. Lovely friendly helpful staff who went out of their way to give us advice on parking. We would not hesitate in returning maybe to try out their small but adequate lunch menu.

Had a super stop here for tea and cake with the family. The children all had hot chocolates and various cakes. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Delicious cake, plus the tea, coffee and hot chocolates were superb.

First time in Filey for nearly 20 years. Just popped in while out walking in the cold. Welcomed by friendly staff and served high quality cake and tea / coffee. Will come again.

What a gem of a little cafe. As soon as you walk in you feel like you are back in an older era (50’s). Actually I think the waitresses and staff should wear matching outfits to the era they are trying to present and this would just make it perfect. Coffee and cream scone was a perfect pick me up for the cold Saturday afternoon! Toilet is outside so be prepared.

This is what I call a traditional tea room...tablecloths on the tables, waitress service and lots of cakes !! Staff were very friendly and service was prompt. Choice of cakes was very good. £3.80 for a slice of cake and a drink was good value.

Having previously visited the tea rooms a number of years ago we decided to call in for lunch. I had a jacket potato with red salmon and salad whilst my husband had fresh crab sandwiches. I finished with Apple and bramble cake and he had coffee and walnut. My cake was light and fluffy- the brambles were tangy. My husbands reaction to his piece of coffee and walnut cake was wow!.

This place is too good for it's own sake. Not big enough to hold all the people that should eat here. So much on the menu I could not make up my mind what to have so I had more than I should have.Only thing is they only take cash no cards.

Went here on a wet and windy day and this defiantly put a smile back on our faces. Service was very cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a sandwich and a ploughmans followed by 2 slices of cake. My daughter, who is 2, loved her orange and lemon cake. Thank you

We visited this cafe to have a tea and bit of lunch. The staff were extremely helpful,welcoming and friendly. We had tea for two and had their own local tea which was beautiful. We shared the ploughmans lunch and I had the Yorkshire ginger cake which was also lovely. Nice little place with lots of character.x

This is a very quaint cafe with good seating area both in and out of the building. The prices are reasonable and the meals very filling. the produce is excellent. well worth a visit.

Popped into this little cafe on a day trip to Filey. It is very quaint with china tea cups and saucers. The home made cakes looked very tasty so we tried some and boy, were we glad we had. The apple and bramble cake was delicious - moist and tasted of the real fruit rather than some fake flavouring. Would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone.

Visited today for lunch. Cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Menu not too large but good because all food made to order. We had sandwiches, which were tasty and accompanied with a good salad and quality crisps. Filter coffee was very acceptable and service prompt and friendly.

Quaint tea room. Worried slightly when we went in as it is old fashioned but this is indeed its charm! Excellent cuppa with lashings of milk if needed. Cappuccino was reasonable and the toasted tea cake crammed with fruit but could have been toasted a little longer - however that is my own personal taste. Excellent, friendly and welcoming staff! Worth a visit!

We go to this place quite often and the food is always excellent. Fresh crab sandwiches are amazing and I wouldn't go anywhere else for a scone with jam and clotted cream.Cakes are all homemade by the owner...see you again soon

lovely scones with clotted cream not the artificial squirty stuff, great service, could do with a choice of biscuits though for the smaller appetite or maybe provide a little biscuit with your drink.

Love the place it's very quirky and nicely done out,very cosy with nice ambience. The staff were very nice and feel bad having to have a bit of a moanOrdered chocolate cake as it did look niceHowever disappointed as there wasn't much taste too it, I like a choc cake to taste of chocolate and this wasn't that tasty and had a very sweet fondant type topping which was sickly The coffee was nice but disappointed with the cake I'm afraid
