No options labelled on menu for vegan customer. Cheese scone did not taste of cheese and was under cooked and tasted disgusting. One small crumpet £1.30 and had to pay extra 50p for small jar of jam to accompany it. Fruit salad £3.50 and hardly any fruit in small dish. Would not choose to eat here again. One good thing, the coffee was great!

This is a lovely waitress service restaurant that was very busy on a Monday morning. which says a lot about the place. Tables were cleared and cleaned promptly. The cups were a nice size without being buckets! I particularly enjoyed the Hot Chocolate.

I moved to New Milton in 2005 and only discovered today that Bradbeers are not only doing teas, coffees, cakes and lunches in the restaurant but also offering an amazing breakfast selection. Everything was spot on and of good quality. 5* for the sausage and bacon! Well looked after by all, Bev, George & co and even the chef Christian came out to say hi! This place should be busier. No mention outside of breakfast and maybe a menu would help fill up the restaurant.

Popped in for a light lunch. Fairly quiet. Noticed several tables had not been cleared away but decided they must have been busy before we got there. Did not have to wait long for someone to take are order. Toasties & cold drinks + glass of water. A gentle reminder brought are drinks after 15 minutes wait (No water) . Then another 20 minutes wait & after asking where food was it arrived slightly wrong white instead of brown bread. Then had no cutlery which we had to go & ask someone for. When that came we asked again for a glass of water. It never arrived. So ate food and left wondering what on earth has happened to what was once a thriving restaurant. I must add that all the time we were there the 2 tables opposite us were never cleared & some of the others were just moved from one table to another. I have heard rumours that you may be closing the restaurant... if your not then a serious look at staff training.

This is a huge thank you to Bradbeers for the loan of their vacant high street property in New Milton for the Ukraine collection AND their loan of Bradbeers vans for the same. I am not involved. Just a very impressed and grateful member of the public. So again - THANK YOU.

Exceptional service within the table service restaurant which exceeded our expectations. Well worth a visit, friendly and very pleasant well furnished surroundings. A gem which I had not expected to find in New Milton. There is obviously a high emphasis on service, something which the larger high street stores should take note of. Well done Bradbeers.

Popped in here for a coffee this morning at 9.45 . It was quiet with only a couple of other tables occupied. Waited for 10 minutes for someone to take our order for just 2 coffees. Other tablets were also clearly anxiously waiting for someone to take their order. The place appeared deserted of staff although clearly staff in the kitchen. Eventually we gave up and went to leave and go elsewhere. The waiter appeared , so my husband said we’d never waited so long in here, and the waiter rudely said we had not been waiting that long! Husband said it was 10 minutes of sitting waiting, Waiter said “ oh no it wasn’t “ SO RUDELY! I’ve never been spoken to by a member of staff like that before! We won’t go here again. Staff need training in customer service.

If you are shopping at Bradbeers Restaurant then the hike to the summit of this old fashioned department store is certainly almost worth the trip. I find the coffee to be of a reasonable quality and enjoy the bright airy decorations that one experiences at that height. Beware of the slow lift if you need to use it, your coffee break or luncheon break could be extended by 45 mins to an hour depending on your luck. Have not been for food but what I have seen distributed to other tables seems fine and the prices are not too excessive.

I was in new Milton with my parents and decided to get some food so we decided to go to Bradbeers restaurant. So we found a table and looked at the menu we also noticed a specials board. after a short period of time a waitress came and to us and took our order of food and drinks.I had ordered the scampi my dad an omelette and chips and my mum had a fish dish. We didn't have to wait long before our drinks arrived then another short time before our food arrived it was well presented and very tasty. We then ordered some desserts my dad having ceoliac s disease he could have a gluten free tart which he enjoyed. My mum ordered oriental ginger ice cream which was from new forest ice-cream company that is one of her favourites. All in all a lovely meal we will be returning soon I'm sure.

Four of us, all retired, visited the restaurant on Friday for coffee. One ordered filter coffee with hot milk on the side. Although the restaurant was not busy, it was a quarter past three in the afternoon, the coffee took ages to be served. When the hot milk was poured into the coffee it congealed into lumps which floated to the surface. In spite of there being a plethora of staff none appeared to be interested in service so I took it back to the kitchen and asked for it to be replaced. Again it took an age for the replacement to be served by which time the rest of us had drunk most of our coffee. When the new milk was stirred into the new coffee and the spoon was withdrawn it had a film of milk skin about an inch square adhering to it! Again, there was no obvious service in spite of a lot of staff so I took the spoon to show to a waiter who was cleaning a table. He told me, in an arrogant tone, that you always get skin like that when you heat up milk! He did not offer to do anything about it so I took it to the kitchen. None of the staff seemed particularly concerned so I asked to see the manager. The person who came forward did not seem to have the presence of a manager but I told him the situation and asked for another coffee - with hot milk having no skin. After an age, and after the rest of us had well and truly finished ours, the coffee arrived. It was acceptable - third time lucky. When I paid the bill I suggested that the staff should be trained but I was met with a sullen indifferent stare. I was not charged for the faulty coffee but that was not the issue for me. The issue was that what should have been a pleasant afternoon drink with friends was totally ruined by the quality of the service. To add to my irritation I was offered a loyalty card. I declined with the comment that I will never visit the restaurant again. By the way, I assume that if the manager bothers to reply to these comments he will be as sarcastic as he has been in reply to other criticisms on Trip Adviser.

What's happened to Bradbeers coffee shop, the atmosphere is not as friendly as it used to be and the new staff no where near as helpful. The manager needs to realise he is working in a small restaurant used by mainly older people not a high street brand coffee shop.

Pretty disgusted with visit today. Three waiting staff talking at desk rather than serving for long periods. Older waiter sept playing with his hair(greasy) and wiping his face with his hands then serving food and drinks and setting tables. No hand washing in between. Gross. Young male waist carrying too many dishes and holding against his stomach. Gross. It will be a longtime before I venture back.

Mother in law and her friend went for a meal at lunchtime. She had risotto and her friend a stew. The risotto was served in a very small bowl and was a solid lump, her friend's stew had lumps of meat that were tough as old boot and the carrots were raw. They were going to stay for some dessert but on reflection decided not to. They are both pensioners and therefore this was meant to be a rare treat, unfortunately, the quality of the food made the whole thing an expensive disappointment. Anyone who has experience in cooking food for a restaurant would never have served up food that was like that.

Bradbeers is one of those traditional old department stores that exist in many parts of the country. It serves good quality merchandise at fair prices and has a very traditional approach to good customer service. My wife and I popped into the cafe on the 2nd floor (accessible by flights of stairs or a lift) for a snack lunch. My wife had the prawn sandwich on white bread with marie rose sauce and I had a toasted teacake; both were of a high quality and delicious, washed down with a pot of tea for 2. There are plenty of tables in the cafe and the chairs are very comfortable with padded seats and nicely upholstered. A waiter or waitress takes your order at your table and the food is freshly prepared. Prices seemed reasonable at £5.20 for the prawn sandwich, tea cake at £1.95 and a pot of tea for 2 at £3.30 (£1.65 per person). If you are in New Milton and looking for somewhere to have a hot drink, toasted sandwich, cold sandwich, tea cake and a piece of cake then I would recommend Bradbeers Cafe as a good place to go.

Bradbeers in New Milton is a favourite place to eat at lunchtime. It has a slightly old- fashioned air about it, even though the decor has been nicely updated recently. But being old-fashioned in this case is good: the waitress/waiter service is friendly, patient and quick and the food is many of the standard dishes but nicely prepared. The Caeser salad is a staple for me. But just a cup of tea and a cake is a civilised occasion too.A tip though: avoid getting there at 12 noon as the elderly clientel (who know a good thing when they see it) descend on the restaurant at that time and free tables are hard to find!

Visited Bradbeers in New Milton and decided to stop their for lunch. My parents had soup of the day which was served with a nice chunk bread but only 1 small packet of butter where I would have expected at least 2.I had a bacon panini which arrived with a salad and salad. The salad was full of diced peppers, which I am allergic to, so that was the initial disappointment. The panini itself was a great disappointment, the bacon looked as if it had been cooked in the Panini and not cooked first. It was a very strange colour, and at first I thought it might be off, but tasting it, it had a sting bacon flavour so carried on eating it as I was hungry. Overall I would say it was mediocre.Couldn't fault the staff on their customer service, had we had more time I probably would have told them the panini wasn't up to much.

My husband and I took my mother here for lunch on Friday. She comes here often for coffee, but this was only the second time that we have been. What an improvement! The refurbishment is to be recommended itself - it was desperately needed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful with my elderly mother and my coeliac husband - nothing was too much trouble. What I noticed with my mother, and other elderly customers, was how the staff treated them with pleasantness, such patience and they spoke clearly - always with a smile. All the tables were full but nothing was too much trouble for them.

Having not visited for some time, we popped into the cafe on the top floor of Bradbeers in New Milton and were pleasantly surprised to find that it has been redesigned and redecorated in a charming style. The staff were welcoming and the service was quick. We enjoyed our cappuccinos and the ambience and will certainly be back again soon. There is a good menu from which to choose, a lift to the cafe and of course the department store itself to visit. There is some parking in the street at the rear of the building, in Station Road or nearby in public car parks.

I'd rang in the week before the Saturday (19th Oct) lunchtime, and pre-booked a table for our party of 13, and I said we needed 2 high-chairs. (How nice it was to ring and book a table verbally, instead of booking on-line.) On the day, we arrived to find 3 tables pushed together for us, and all was good, though no high-chairs, which the staff member got sorted fast. We arrived in a bit of a disjointed way (an initial 5, then a 3, then a 5), but this caused no problem, and we had drinks on tab. Our meal experience was really very good, with good attention by all staff (at bar and at table). The food (we had main and dessert) came in good time, and it was delicious. All in our party thought their main course was excellent, being really flavoursome. I had the cottage pie, it was delightful, as was my partner's pork rump steak. Yes, prices were a couple of pounds more per plate for mains, but definitely worth it. At no time were we hurried along, or unduly hassled, and we ended up spending much of a great Saturday afternoon there. Our 7yo in the party enjoyed the wooden play apparatus outside, and I loved the Exmoor ales! Lastly, how refreshing to have no service charge automatically added, and allow customers to decide. We'd never eaten there before, but we will again!
