Food with a view! Lovely pub with outside tables if you have a dog. Great Caesar salad with chicken. Hubby had fish cakes with possibly best chips I’ve ever tasted….i couldn’t resist trying one and I’m not a chip fan!! Bought a slice of orange and passion fruit cake to takeaway from the Teashop, that was moist and delicious too.

Tried to visit a while ago and they said the kitchen was closed between 4 and 6. Tried again yesterday. The website says open til 8.30pm 4.20pm they had closed ! Very poor

Our absolute favourite pub bar none. Service, ambience, views and food all just so lovely.

Spent an afternoon in its outdoor seating and stayed for a dinner. It can get busy on weekend nights, so I recommend to make a booking. Also, there are lots of bench seating outdoors, but was quite windy and chilly despite the sunny weather early March. They only serve local beers on tap. So there was a limited option, on that day was 1 lager, 2 pale ale (1 non-alcoholic) and a cider. Spirits and wine have more options though. Indoor seating is a bit cozy (exact word the hostess used, I thought was cozy-warm but meant cozy-tight and small). Toilets were not wheelchair friendly but the restaurant was pet-friendly. The end where we sat for dinner was cold, without a working heater. We had to wear our coats. My husband enjoyed the rib eye steak, nice and tender. The foccacia starter had a generous portion of the bread and olive oil. The duck leg was good as well but the portion was a bit small (£24 for a drumstick). I would be willing to pay a little more for a proper leg portion. The view outside the pub is gorgeous. Parking lot can accomodate a lot of cars.

I cannot rate this Restaurant any higher. Attentive and considerate staff. I had pan fried pork fillet with mushroom and garlic sauce with herb new potatoes and broccoli. The pork was so beautifully cooked it melted in the mouth. The mushroom and garlic sauce was absolutely divine and was amazingly tasty, the broccoli cooked to perfection with pan fried baby potatoes. What a delight for my senses. I can't wait to come back again. Highest compliments to the chef's. 🫶🏻

We have been to Botley hill multiple times and we have a great time always! Love the burger, starters and everything. The waiters are amazing and always smiling!!!

Amazing Sunday roast. 10 stars! Sadly dropping a star because the draft ale (Titsey) didn’t taste nice. We couldn’t figure out if it was just the beer or that’s how that beer tastes. Having been to the Titsey brewery we thought it tasted better than it did at the pub. Staff were very good and changed our drinks. But even the 2nd time the beer did not taste right. There also were not any other draft ales available. Otherwise can’t fault.

Love coming here on a Sunday as the roasts are great. The Nut roast is especially nice for any vegetarians! Been many times and had great experiences, the last time we went felt a bit over crowded with people waiting in the walkways as well as staff trying to get by with food and drinks. 100% recommend if you haven’t tried though

Good venue for a friend's birthday party

We’ve been to this pub a few times. Standout is the service and the location, and just the beautiful building. The food is also really good. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the selection of beers/ciders on tap, they only serve the products of a local brewery. We always enjoy going and the kids love the garden. We will keep coming back.

I ate here before it closed down but it wasn't great. Tomato soup was too sweet and the bread was hard. So I can't speak for the change. But the staff are brilliant.

I went to the Sheep Shed with my son for lunch yesterday. The waitresses were so welcoming and bent over backwards. Refreshing.The fruit scone was delicious and made in-house. My son enjoyed his lunch and the chips were brilliant. Can't recommend enough. The fire on a snowy day was also very welcoming x

Such a great place for a weekend lunch. Most importantly the food is amazing. Along with a cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and nice local beer you can't go wrong!

Wonderful Sunday breakfast, really nice food (locally sourced) well prepared. All while sitting in front of a warm stove on a wet winter day. A gem in the area

Food was good and so was the coffee but the wait was the worse I've ever had. Asked why it was taking so long, we have lots of orders of which 4 of them where ours. Our colleague got his followed 20min later ours. Overall, the wait was 45 mins which us not acceptable.

I booked for two separate lunches. They were for special birthdays. I actually went in to reserve a table no 18 for each date. The first lunch date we turned up. On time and they had given our table away and placed us right by the side door. No other table available. Not good. The second lunch on Oct 30th. Also reserved table 18. Guess what. They had given the table away again and then again. No other table was available so they put us by the toilettes. Great. The only saving factor that day was our waiter was a delightful young man. Not sure I will bother with Botley at the moment. Very dissatisfied.

Warm and cosy. Great food. Had Sunday lunch here before, which was very tasty and not shy on the portions. This time we dined on a Saturday evening. Dishes included,to start, fishcakes,arancini and soup of the day. Mains, homemade burger, homemade pie, catch of the day, all with plenty of sides. Everyone throughly enjoyed what they ate, and again portions more than ample. Good selection of local drinks. Service was very polite and attentive. Will be dining here again and would recommend.

This was lovely! Our servers were excellent, especially the young lady who served us the majority of the time.

Sunday Roast is disappointing overpriced . Staff are very friendly, lovely surroundings

Been here three times recently, Caroline was our server on two occasions who was quite attentive, hence leaving a good tip even though service charge was already added to bill. We just visited again on Saturday 31 April 2022 and Ollie was our server…we left him a tip even though he wasn’t particularly attentive but hopefully he’ll remember to check guests have drinks, water etc. The atmosphere here is great and the food generally pretty good. I definitely recommend the fish cakes for starters…absolutely gorgeous and the salad it came with was super fresh and the salad dressing was really nice (and I’m not normally a salad person). My husband had the ribs which he said were lovely. Think the tables could do with a really good clean…ours was a little sticky. Update on 23 January 2023: original review was four stars but now changed to one star. Went to lunch there today with my husband, no heating so we had to eat lunch in the cold (and it’s a very cold day today)…I felt a couple of the radiators and they were stone cold. Mentioned it to the server and she said “well it IS a very old building”! Also lots of the diners had brought their dogs with them and the woman on the table next to us had two dogs which sat and stared at us throughout our main course while she talked loudly and non-stop to the person with her. Really awful dining experience and I doubt I will ever return.

Good views especially during summer

Awesome location and ambience let down by level of service. The staff acted to be busier than the place actually was. It was difficult to get someone to take order and then it was a good 30 mins wait to get the food. Food was good though.

A very tasty Sunday roast. It was an extremely busy sunny afternoon with tables full inside and out, but the sevice and quality were still excellent.

Stopped by today for Sunday lunch and could not have had a better experience. A friendly and helpful welcome, wonderful service throughout and the food was excellent. (Best Sunday Roast I've had In a very long time). Will definitely make a return visit soon and would highly recommend it to anyone else.

We attended the evening event of a wedding so didn't really experience the food or the service, but the setting and facilities were top notch.

Just popped in for one drink. A lovely atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely view outside with a brilliant sunset on it's way. A bit windy so we came inside. Please sort out your toilets for the ladies!

Brought my friend visiting from Sweden here for dinner on a Saturday! Food was really nice, I had lamb which was incredible and my friend had the vegetarian mushroom burger however she thought it was rather bland unfortunately! Service was good until we’d had our food, after that there was no one at our section to ask if we wanted dessert for a long time and when they did arrive it was almost like they were shocked we wanted dessert but we had it, it was lovely and then to the pay situation, they cleared the table after the dessert and then we waited for someone to come with the bill for 45 min before we managed to get someone’s attention so I’m pleased with the experience but I’m a bit disappointed with the attention after the food was given if that makes sense?

A cute olde worlde public house with a great garden, tea room, barns and superb views over green farmlands.

What a beautiful setting for a drink/meal. It was lovely weather mind & the sunset was spectacular! We went for a drink which turned into a meal but was close to Closing the kitchen. The friendly staff accommodated us & we sat outside & had a beautifully cooked steak whilst taking in the lowering sun. It’s easy access for wheelchairs, large car park & there’s a very good sized garden for children to play in. They also allow dogs on leads. Would highly recommend this pub.

Very disappointing first visit to Botley Hill. After the third attempt to get a pint of beer that didn't have a lot of sediment in the bottom we gave up and went home. Under no circumstances would we ever consider going here for a drink again and caution other drinkers to pay close attention to their pints and consider visiting a more reliable venue.

Delicious and the staff always helpful, we had a very nice tuna toastie, dessert cafe, and hot drinks - fabulous!

Smashing experience ! We cycle through this every other week and always wanted to go in for some food and drink. Location - Can't get any better than the view of the valleys. Seating - Nice indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff/Family - Top class service. Food - Quality and well cooked. Price - As much as you will find from an independent pub doing more with local produce. Parking - Ample of space for cars, motor bikes , bicycles etc.

Haven’t been here for a few years but went on Friday with family and had a really good meal. Son enjoyed his duck, daughter in law her risotto, my wife a kebab with ras el hanout and I had probably the best fish and chips I’ve had for a very very long time.. Generous portion, perfectly cooked and the lightest batter ever. Service was a little slow as they were very busy but very friendly and even when I was unhappy with the wine it was exchanged with no issue. Great customer service and we will be back.

Always my top recommendation for anyone looking for a good local restaurant in the South Croydon area. Nothing to fault - great food, friendly staff, fair prices, easy booking system for reservations. Would recommend you visit during sunset time, or when its sunny, so you can enjoy a drink in their garden with beautiful views (+ sheep if you are lucky!). Very dog friendly too. Recommend the Caesar salad and Sunday roast.

Very historic venue, but as the plethora of signs say: "Mind your head"! Lovely location in a rural spot, yet close to Oxted, Limpsfield, Westerham, Caterham, Croydon & Warlingham. Plenty of car parking spaces, and if the weather is kind, some great outdoor seating. We had some pleasant meals here whilst celebrating a birthday in the family.

My friends and I visited at lunchtime. I would recommend you reserve a table, as it was busy around 2.30 pm.i had the House 8oz burger, chips, and slaw. Chips were chunky, and overall, it was very filling. My friend had a beautiful homemade pie which was packed with meat and sat on a bed of mashed potato and vegetables plus a little pot of gravy. Another ordered the lamb but unfortunately, it was quite fatty and chewy. Great options of deserts available too. The pub has plenty of seats outside, some with umbrellas and great views with sheep grazing just a stone throw away. I would definitely visit here again. Service was great!

Ordered the lamb rump and the wife ordered the caesar salad. The lamb was so tasty, so succulent and melted in my mouth. The caesar salad was also very tasty but the star of the show was def the lamb!

Botley Hill Farm House had been on our list for some time. We went for my mums birthday. It wasn't particularly busy when we went. Service was very slow, waitress was polite but a bit maybe awkward? Food was average. We left not amazed and wouldn't particularly return.

Nice spot but pricey, got charged £2.50 for two slices of extra bread.

Wonderful place with stunning views

My wife had a pasta dish, but told me there was too much salt in it. I ordered a Chardonnay with lemonade and ice, but it tasted really bitter and horrible. I then ordered her a Rose and it tasted again horrible and bitter! Either the wines is too young or it's cheap wine. We are a bit disappointed tbh. My wife has eaten here before and no problems. Tonight it's very much the opposite. She'll only have soft drinks next time, quality of wines are no good.

Best Sunday Roast ever. Superbly presented and incredible tasty. Succulent meat and a real Yorkshire pudding. Great atmosphere and good service. Jack was especially welcoming and friendly. We been several times and thought it deserved a mention.

not a friendly place would not return, sat at a table just for a drink and got shouted at ! this is reserved but no reserve sign was on the table . Was going to check it out for my company party but unfortunately I will look elsewhere .

Always visit the tea room here when on a bike ride and the cakes are excellent.
