When we visit Yate we always like to go to Boswells the food is always lovely and the staff are always helpful. They have plenty of staff and they all seem to be happy in their work. Tables are always cleaned and when observing I see that the staff are always on hand to help people that need a hand taking drinks to their tables and anything they need. The restaurant has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and I liken it to a community meeting place. Lovely tasty food well cooked with a great choice and always a welcoming smile from the staff, which makes a huge difference to feeling welcome. Thank you to all I look forward to our next visit. a fried egg left to sit on a hot plate will grow tough on the bottom.Fried eggs should be cooked in shallow fat and have the hot fat splashed over the top.

Great place and,although manic busy, our food came quickly and was good 👍we sat outside and my sister (who has learning disabilities)loved watching all the play in the big sandpit. Staff lovely. An all round great experience, thank you.

I'm used to the Boswells in The Galleries, Bristol, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a Boswell's in Yate. We just had to go in and have some coffee and tea. We know how good the food is at Boswell's. Staff are very friendly, the place is clean, and there is a sand pit right outside for the kids to enjoy! Lovely!

We were visiting family so decided to have breakfast before we met early afternoon. The restaurant was lovely and clean and the staff very friendly. We ordered standard breakfast for a brunch with two coffees . The food was served very quick and well presented on the plates . We will definitely use this place again when visiting the family in the area

We have eaten here a few times as it is close to our Yate house and often convenient. It is centrally located in the shopping centre and currently enjoys both indoor and outdoor seating but this changes depending on what other things are going on in the shopping centre. Despite what others have said we have always found the local staff to be friendly and courteous to both customers and to each other. They have remained open when allowed during the COVID situation and put excellent protections in place. Our faves are the all day breakfast and nachos with chilli and cheese!

Have not been in a Boswells for a very long time. Met a friend and we decided to try it as fried bread was needed. Not sure why I have avoided for so long. Great staff, very clean and the veggie breakfast was excellent, will definitely return.

I enjoyed a lovely English Breakfast on Saturday however I couldn't help but notice that the older more mature members of staff talk to the younger members in a very curt and unreasonable fashion. I myself work within the hospitality section and understand it can be stressful but manners cost nothing! Hope this was just a one off - other than this a wonderful breakfast in a clean and pleasant café - one of my first trips out since the pandemic and felt the staff handled distancing and hygiene well!

It has taken a while to get a seat in this popular cafe with excellent people watching big windows.I had an English breakfast and as usual it was delicious, well cooked and came quickly.The manager Mark has once again built a very friendly efficient team.The filter coffee was tasty too.

I’ve always loved Boswells as it’s cheap and easy but recently since they’ve re-opened certain members of staff have become “power-hungry” and rude to customers. And from speaking to other people who have been I know I’m not the only one to think it. Customer service is just bad so don’t expect a good experience here.

When I'm in Yate I always go to Boswell's for lunch. Nice food, friendly staff. Never been disappointed.

In Yate for the afternoon shopping and we popped into Boswell’s. We had one full breakfast and one bacon and griddled chicken salad. Both good portions, service was excellent and although the place was almost full the food arrived speedily. It was exactly as ordered and the waiter checked if we needed sauces etc. Our table was clean and the finished plates were removed speedily. Definitely a good lunch spot would go again.

We often pop in here for lunch. The food is decent although not cheap but there is a good selection of options and a mix between healthy stuff and greasy spoon cafe type food. Most importantly, you can have mushrooms with everything!

We really enjoyed our breakfast! The icing on the cake was the cream on my mocha drink. Another positive thing was that they were very quick to clean up tables.

We were visiting the shops in Yate to get a few odds and ends, no intention of eating but then we saw their sign outside for the All Day breakfast. This was very appealing as I think we were all fed up with turkey and leftovers!

In Yate shopping for a change we had a full breakfast, comes with chips! and a jacket potatoe with chicken breast and salad. Good portions.

Yate is not noted as a Shopping centre, but has definitely improved and appears to be very buoyant.

First the positives. The coffee was very good, and once ordered, my breakfast was served very quickly. But with the exception of the scrambled egg, which was done to a tee, the rest was quite bland.

Popped in here a few weeks back with my fiancée. Boswell's has been in Yate centre for more years than I can remember and have always walked by, but we popped in for a change of scene.

It's always great to know you can get a lovely meal, lovely coffee and a smile when you're out shopping.

Popped into the cafe for a spot of lunch. There was a good choice of dishes. The food was quick arriving. The only disappointing thing was our hot drinks were luke warm.

Visited with my buddy and the restaurant was lovely and bright. There were plenty of cheerful staff about the place and the food was really nice too.

Boswells is right in the heart of Yate shopping centre. Good location to meet up with friends and have a great cup of coffee and breakfast.

We love Boswell’s cafe in Yate, the staff are so so nice and welcoming, the food is fresh wholesome and tasty. and beautifully served. It lovely to go somewhere and know that you won’t be disappointed. They’ve just had a refurbish and we weren’t quite sure of the changes but, we were lucky enough to be there when the owner was overseeing the work. He listened to our concerns and took them on board. So we are happy. Today we dropped in for a snack and one of their delicious cold drinks, Trina recommended a drink for my husband Tony and once again we were set for the afternoon. Breakfast to go back for. Fantastic coffee lovingly prepared. All their dishes are freshly made up and very good value. Have been several times and is my favourite coffee in the area.

Met a collegue for a coffee at lunchtime, and was very pleasantly surprised to see the array of food on display. Not having been before expected just coffee and cake, however there were lots of interesting sandwiches, hot meals as well as home made cakes. The staff were mainly young but very polite. Will definately go again

Whilst shopping in Yate I came across this place. I have now found my new favourite cafe. I love cooked breakfast and this place served the best one I’ve come across in a long time, with real quality ingredients. Fair prices for all they sell, so was really impressed. Coffees are piping hot, something many cafes are failing at lately, so again top points for their really nice hot drinks. Really friendly helpful staff, who really care about the customer. Well done to all the staff for great food, a friendly welcome in a nice setting, you will see a lot of me.

Boswell's does a good selection of hot and cold drinks, sweet snacks and tasty light lunches including toasties, jacket potatoes and home made soup.

Nipped in whilst getting a phone repair. Busy place, which is always a good sign, enjoyed a smashing breakfast with pleasant service.

I used to visit Boswells regularly for breakfast before making use of Wetherspoons. In comparison, Boswells are more expensive and their food was dry as if some elements of the meal had been left on the plate whilst others were being cooked. They are certainly more expensive. I no longer visit

Popped in for lunch,not a great range of cooked items.Settled for jacket potatoes with prawns and a cuppa. Service good,well priced and adequate portions.

What I like about this cafe, that you have the option to order a sandwich or a soup and they make for you, unlike other cafe where the sandwich are already made. Their breakfast menu is nice and food always fresh

Service really good and coffee was lovely, they offer a loyalty card so you can get a free coffee after a certain amount of visits. Very good variety of food and everything I've had has been tasty!

Este ha sido siempre el último café en el centro comercial, ir servicio yate, siempre limpio, buena comida, y el gerente es siempre trabajando, nunca parecen tener tiempo para parar siempre en movimiento, el resto del personal parecen seguir su ejemplo

Boswells has become a routine for us. The food is always lovely and piping hot and the staff are so happy and helpful.We love sitting there and watching the world go by through the many windows.I recommend this place to anyone over other coffee companies like Costa or Starbucks!

This is still our go-to place in Yate for coffees and lunch. None of the other cafes come close to the quality and taste of the food and drink.Always freshly made, and the staff are always friendly and professional. Keep up the good work.

Me and my husband popped into boswells whilst shopping in yate we both ordered a panini with a tea and coffee came to nearly 14 pound the painins both lacked filling and flavour tasted dry was dissapointing

I should expect anything more than a greasy breakfast here, but decided to risk it and go for a salad. BIG MISTAKE, the chicken 'breast' was as dry as the Sahara! I was spitting feathers.. Seriously, how can you overcook and dry out chicken? I have nothing left to say, apart from. If you order chicken here, brace yourself for a dry spell!!!

Great place to have a cheap light bite to eat. Light and airy with modern decor. Very popular with locals or those just passing through, like me. Sandwiches, jacket potato's or English breakfast. ect.

Disappointed they had sold out of loaded jacket potatoes at 1pm as they looked good. Had soup and toasted tea cake which were both good. Busy cafe which shows how good the food is. Lots of staff clearing tables and serving food but queue to be served doesn't move quickly, couldn't work out why.

I have been a customer here for several years and even worked here for a while. The management and owners are a credit to this place. Hardworking and passion does not even come close to the traits of the management and team at Boswells. This is in the centre of Yate and the perfect location to stop for a coffee or lunch. They provide a range of hot, cold and iced drinks which are made with love. The hygiene levels are top notch and the food is delicious whilst carefully prepared. The staff are welcoming and friendly and will help with any assistance you may need. This offers great value for money where other local coffee shops do not. This is a must go to!!

Friendly atmosphere and ample outdoor seating which is great in this weather. A much better quality of coffee than some other more established 'coffee chains' and friendlier staff as well. It's the place to go and relax, chill and enjoy a good coffee, or iced drink.

Go to Boswells most Saturday's. Perfect for lunch, plenty of places to sit and eat. Food is quick to come and very good. Not fine dining, but that's not what it's there for, good range from snacks, salads, jacket spuds up to a full meal. Staff are quick, professional and very friendly.

I dropped by at lunchtime (Thursday 19th May) whilst taking a break from the office to stretch my legs around this very large shopping center. The lady on the till was very helpful and friendly so that added value to my visit. The cafe overlooks an unusually large sandpit which, appeared very popular with mothers who, contentedly relaxed in deckchairs whilst the toddlers enjoyed themselves under the shade of a voluminous sun canopy. Quite the oasis really, in this "sea" of 100+ shops.

I've had lunch at Boswell's a few times, and have always enjoyed it. Situated right in the centre of Yate it has big windows on three sides, so the cafe always feels quite light and bright. The counter is canteen style, and you can see a lot of the hot food items and wraps as you proceed along. At this point I am always tempted by the stuffed potato skins, and their lasagnes always look fab as well. There is usually plenty of staff waiting to take your order.On this occasion my husband picked the potato skins and I decided to have the chilli topped nachos. Our orders were taken for food, and then we ordered our drinks which were made while we waited. The service was quick, and it isn't bad value for a hot meal at lunchtime. Finding a table can sometimes be a little tricky, because they are packed quite close together, but we managed to grab one with a little space. The cafe is popular with a wide range of people, from mums with small children to older couples enjoying a cup of tea (which is always a good sign) but it does mean that there is a wide range of people to manoeuvre around!The food arrived and it was tasty as always. It isn't particularly new or different but they do what they do very well. I will definitely be back in Boswell's for lunch in the future because I always enjoy my lunch there. It isn't the type of cafe that I would want to sit and have a relaxing coffee in, because it is a bit open, but for a quick, filling lunch it is perfect.

I visit here purposely to get tango ice blasts. They are very expensive though, I think it's about £4, that's more than a pint in London and is roughly 8 X the price of diesel. The actual cafe is quite nice though and is good for people watching. Once I seen a girl kick her bloke and her trainer came off and went on top the roof, it was hilarious.

We went for a lunch time drink & bite to eat. We ordered jacket with beans, chilli with chips and an extra bowl of chips.The coffee was made while I waited & it was worth waiting. Our food order came very quickly despite it being lunchtime and hence very busy! The jacket was lovely & the chips were great and the best my kids have tasted for a long time! Definitely recommend a visit, whether it's for food or just a drink.

Went in here in January, the staff just couldn't be bothered, it was two young girls supposed to be serving, all they could do was laugh at customers, they took there time to serve when they weren't busy, I walked out, wouldnt bother wasting my time or money, terrible staff

Been here today to meet up with daughter and grandchildren. Been told the bacon sandwiches were very good so I was looking forward to trying one. For my £3.10 I got cheap plastic bread (the sort which when picked up goes to a millimetre thick) cheap margarine (all I could taste) and cold bacon. Not worth the money in anyway shape or form. I like to support local independent businesses, but after this rip off I will not use this place again, there are lots more coffee shops in Yate (although a lot are larger chains) which I would far rather use from now on

I met a friend here for quick lunch and coffee, she had a boswell's loyalty card as she is a frequent visitor and had a free drink because of collecting points. To eat I had a cheese and tomato toastie she had a baked potato topped with cheese and salad. Staff at counter are amazingly efficient, no lengthy waiting as they have enough people to take orders, serve you and someone at till. Special mention for Trina , friendly and quick to serve you.Not long to wait before meals came with a smile and our food was hot and tasty. Downside? Ladies toilet could have done with some Tlc but otherwise a good value for money cafe. Go on give it a try!

Have visited here many times but this is my first review. Visited recently - had the cooked breakfast - was lovely. Staff are always really friendly especially Mark & the girls who worked on Sunday. Will be back when returning to Yate.

Two breakfasts here with two teas cost £15.40 - a complete rip off.I was asked if I wanted any extras - I asked what and was offered toast! I swapped the chips for toast asking for white bread and was given brown.The food was presented poorly - eggs with broken yolks covered with luke warm beans.The woman serving was also more interested in chatting to her mate who was in front of me.Bad food and service couple with rip off prices.Won't be back.

When meeting up with friends or family in Yate, we tend to go to Boswells. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are outstanding. My nan always mentions how lovely a young girl is who works there called Natasha. It always seems to be clean and well presented there too.

Had lunch here today, was a little dubious because we don't usually eat in this style of establishment.But I couldn't be more wrong.Service was excellent, very nice coffee and the grilled chicken salad with Caesar dressing was lovely.If we are around the shopping centre again we will definitely eat here.

A cafe which was clean & comfortable, the food looked delicious although we only had a snack, a sausage roll & an egg & cress sandwich. Couldn't fault the service, although only one egg & cress sandwich on white bread in the cabinet we were asked if we wanted white or brown bread & on requesting brown, it turned up very quickly. The staff were friendly & helpful and the cafe tables were kept cleared & wiped down very efficiently by the manager. All in all a very good experience. Well done guys.

Situated in the Yate Shopping centre Boswells attract a large variety of shoppers. They have plenty of seating and on a fine day you can even sit outside and eat. The menu is very varied and you can get everything from a sandwich, or cake to a full breakfast or dinner time meal. Well worth a try if your out shopping and feel peckish.

Ive been in this cafe many many times and the staff are lovely , the food is hot, fresh and yummy.The chips and sausage are especially nice and worth a visit just to taste them.Coffee is not bitter.The only bad thing is the free wifi keeps knocking you back to the boswells webpage cancelling anything you were just doing on the net.You have to keep clicking take me to the internet which is a real pain if your online to the bank, tax, ebay. amazon etc as it makes you start all over every 15 mins.

Boswell's is a great cafe based in the centre of Yate shopping centre. The meals are very tasty and filling but be aware that at peek times you may experience a queue. The prices are reasonable and you get a decent meal for the price. Staff are quick and efficient. You must also try the tango ice blast drink...have a mixture of all the flavours! Tastes amazing!

Very friendly and helpful staff. They provide gluten free rolls with your soup which is a big bonus. They also stock gluten free tray bakes, a little expensive, but flavorsome. The cafe is always spotlessly clean. They do a loyalty scheme for so many cups of coffee then get one free.

I have eaten here alot of times in the past and it seems to get worse every time I go. I went there yesterday for lunch while I had some time to waste and wont be going back again except to pick up a take-away hot drink. The service was pretty bad, waitress who took my order wasnt quite rude but was not polite and the few tables that were free hadnt been cleared away so I had to sit and wait until the dirty plates were taken away. I had a jacket potato which took 15 minutes to arrive (even though they are cooked waiting to be served) and the 'side salad' was a few limp looking lonesome lettuce leaves.

What a lovely place to meet anytime of the day. Food great and staff welcoming and friendly. Whole atmosphere is relaxed and the place was spotless.

In the middle of Yate town centre, a nice bright cafe, not the cheapest but always good quality food quickly served.Pleasant staff, the manager is always busy keeping the place clean , tidy and ticking over.Jackets are lovely and the victoria sponge.Keep up the good work Boswells!

Boswells Coffee Shop does play a very usefull roll, based in Yate Shopping Center, always busy and very noisey needs better sound proofing, the coffee is too strong and not very hot for me, food is basic and pricey. This cafe is not for me.

I'm starting to feel a bit picky when I write these reviews. The cafe looked nice as we entered and was clean and large with plenty of seating. They were overing a 'deal' of tea cake and latte or cappuccino. As the queue was long and slow I asked for the tea cakes to be toasted after the drinks were made. The tea cakes arrived before the drinks being made (although they tried to keep them warm) and then the lady in front complained her drink was too strong, so they remade her drink, rather than finish making ours, despite being aware the tea cakes were going cold and I'd asked for them together. Cappuccino was a bit bland and the tea cake was only toasted on one side and a bit soggy. Next time I'd go to Costa in Tesco. £7 was a lot of money for what we got.
