Boo Koos in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Had the dog with us, so ate in their pub opposite, great arrangement. Burgers, fries and shakes were amazing!

Love this place. I come everytime I come to cornwall. Even out of season you need to book! Or sit in the pub garden opposite and order from the app.

I went here on tuesday with my sister, my server was Ben he was great and i rarely see effort like that put in, i was very impressed.

Only giving two stars as my partner and I arrived in the afternoon at 3:20pm and we waited almost 45 minutes before our food arrived. Our food was ok hence the two stars but there were errors on the order. An overhead fan along with several other overhead fans kept the restaurant extremely cold (I needed the jumper I was wearing). As we only both had a burger (a Grande and a medium sized burger) and chips (with additional toppings) with an additional side and a couple of additional toppings for the Grande burger; three little sauce pots along with just a large ice cream milk shake, three bottles of Appletiser and a bottle of Diet Coke the bill of £89 seemed very high.

food is always good here, just had to wait about 40 minutes for food, other orders were getting called so asked at the desk; had been sitting in the back and lukewarm eating them in the car 2 min later..

THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH STARS!! 5 out of 5 does not cut it... we are talking 25 or maybe 50 out of 5... I'm writing this now still sat at the table because it is THAT good... The Burgers are world changing, they could bring world peace... sit the World Leaders in a room, bring them Boo Koos, BAM, World Peace!! The Milkshakes are the Perfect way to round off the meal, Plentiful, tasty, some incredible concoctions, and the price is totally worth it. I will do the 3 and a half hours drive from Bristol again just to sit here and witness culinary magic! Boo Koos, you've smashed it!!

Having access to sit in The Bell Inn opposite, a unique experience I’ve never had before, to have food delivered there instead was something interesting. Was fairly reasoning waiting times, considering they’d have to cross the road to deliver.

We had a great meal at Boo Koo’s, they were fully booked but we were able to sit in the pub across the road and order via the app! Everything worked seamlessly and our food came quickly! Everything was really tasty and I washed it down with a Skittles shake!! Highly recommend!

Nipped into Boo Koos for lunch. Had the Swiss Mushroom Burger. It was, without doubt the best burger I have ever eaten. Top quality meat, loads of mushrooms and cheese. So good. I’m definitely coming back.

Hot dog awful wouldn't recommend. Staff were lovely if a little young to be running the restaurant on their own I think the Falmouth restaurant is alot better than the Helston

Went to Boo Koos to celebrate a family member’s birthday. ( not mine ). Very disappointed. Waited an awful long time for drinks ( there were only four of us and we weren’t drinking anything that would take time to put together ie cocktails ) Had to go up and ask again for the drinks. My burger ( veggie ) when it finally arrived was only slightly lukewarm, not what you’d expect. Same with fries. I was going to just leave it and not create a fuss but after tasting someone else’s burger and finding that their burger was hot, well I wasn’t happy. Another burger was brought to me but obviously I was then eating alone as everyone else had finished theirs. The restaurant was virtually empty apart from us so couldn’t understand why we waited so long and then the food issues… To conclude, I think Boo Koos are paying more attention to delivering food across the road to customers in the pub rather than giving customers attention in the actual restaurant. Staff were in and out constantly with burgers. The young staff were very apologetic about my cold food I will add but the night was ruined and I’m afraid I will be giving Boo Koos a wide berth.

We were looking online for a family restaurant in Helston and thought this place looked like the sort of thing we were after. It turned out to be exactly what we'd hoped it would be. The food was tasty and filling with generous portion sizes, we shared 2 sides between a family of four (2 children under 10 having kids' size hot dog and burger respectively) with a main each and a milkshake and it was just a little more than we could manage. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, we were in and out within an hour without feeling at all rushed. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

11/11/24. Seriously one of the best burgers I have EVER tried. I had the red white and blue cheeseburger and shared a portion of blue cheese fries with the wife which were also incredible!!!! I had a coke float which took me right back to my childhood, it had two scoops of ice cream in too, so good. Then I had a Reese's peices hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. It was to die for, absolutely incredible. Service from start to finish was amazing. They even remembered it was our anniversary. The music was great, the decor great and also the atmosphere and prices were very great as the portions were so big. We can't wait to come back next time we stay at Mullion Cove. Thanks again for a great evening!!!!

Amazing place that offers some great food and a lovely atmosphere

I want to start with the positive and that, without question is the food! The burgers and fries where incredible. Beef was tasty and flavourful (they cook all their burgers well done which I don't mind I didn't ask if I could have it any other way but still) fantastic burger and so generous with the toppings on all 4 of our burgers. The service is fine it wasn't amazing wasn't awful. But the seats omg pilgrims caught stowing away on vessels bound for America weren't made to be this uncomfortable. It's the single most uncomfortable awkward upright bench booth set up ever. And there all the same so no option to move. It's a shame it was that uncomfortable it put a dampener on the meal. Still they serve the pub over the road so go in there grab a comfy seat and a pint and definitely eat the burgers

Go here, don't think about it just go here. Stop wasting time looking at other places and book a table. Take your friends and family so you can share fries. I want to have them cater for my wedding

This place was incredible!! They completely nailed EVERYTHING The ambience/atmosphere was spot on and really interesting, with the best playlist in the background of anywhere ever The menus where huuuge with even bigger portion size options! Also truly loved the booths, they realy feel like youre own little cave My partner was immediately infatuated with the mac n cheese bites, and our burgers where phenomenal! Really impressed with my partners VFC (vegetarian kfc burger) and i adored the squeeler burger. Served in really cool on brand trays. Was really happy to see zero alcohol thatchers and the milkshakes where incredible! And the service was excellent! Saw some reviews criticising the service but couldnt fault anyone there, warm, welcoming and bloody quick too. Definitely reccomend booking a table and eating in, you miss out on so much of the experience if you dont.

Our food came really quickly and was very nice. Our server was very nice and polite and made sure we had everything we needed. Pricing was decent, spent less than we thought it would be. Will defo return and have already recommended to people! Love it 😁

Went here for my birthday, the food was the best I’ve had and the service was amazing. I got the regular sized burger and chips and was so full by the end. Unknowingly, after dinner they gave me a small bday cake which was a great surprise! The rustic, American atmosphere truly adds to the experience.

Friendly staff (Abbie), out of this world shakes and the best burgers in the UK. What's is not too love. Highly highly recommend, please book. There is a reason why they are so busy. It is simply perfect. The duty manager Ryan is very proficient. Looking forward to the next visit.

Nice place in Helston, been a couple of times and always good.

Stumbled on this place whilst visiting Helston as part of a short holiday. Fantastic menu with food actually tasting as good. Recommend going for the small burger and adding on some sides. Many thanks for the great pit stop.....great food, great service and great value 👍🏻

Great tasting burgers and fries, but when they say Little they mean it: this burger won't cover your palm and can be eaten in four bites!

Ordered a cheese burger, fries and cheddapeno bites. The burger was huge and delicious, whilst the cheddapeno bites were incredibly moreish. They give you a lot of chips which is great, but they were a little cold and bland, so maybe worth having a side instead.

Lovely burgers and good chips (a basket is a lot of chips!) friendly staff and nice atmosphere, very full happy customers, milkshakes are wonderful with a great variety. Would recommend!

Went out for a birthday meal, staff were so lovely and friendly and went the extra mile when I asked if I could bring in some cupcakes. They put candles on and brung them out singing happy birthday which was absolutely amazing 👏 truly made the night special, also food was perfect. Thank you boo koo staff and chefs keep it up :)

We stopped in for dinner, and all the tables were reserved, so we went across to their pub. We've eaten at their Falmouth location a few times as I love Tex Mex. We ordered through the app and were served fairly quickly (they brought it from their restaurant to the pub.) The food was lovely as always. Sad they don't offer any Tex Mex. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and hubby had the buffalo chicken burger, and we shared fries, mac and cheese bites, tater tots, and spicy chicken wings. I gave a 3 star on the atmosphere, as we weren't into dining in a pub, but understood. It wasn't as welcoming as the restaurant itself, and there was a rowdy and loud bunch next to us with a barking dog. It won't be like that everytime, however, it wasn't the vibe I needed that night. But we'll always dine at Boo Koos when we can.

PLUSES: Quite Tasty. Yummy burgers. Always open long hrs very conveniantly located. MINUS: Very very Expensive. very overrated. Average food fof what you have to pay for and the smallest of items costs a bomb. Dismal non existant welcome . Burgers are good but tiny. The bun poor quality the burgers are packed with so much sauce and chilly you cant taste the meat they rely on that to pump it out I suppose. As portions are tiny you have to pay more if you want to size up a decent size. Staff need better training. They dont smile say hello just chat amongst themselves and very slow. even when shop is empty. No general knowledge poor comunication. Dropped in standards portion size and quality unfortunately. Bottom line; If it was a cheap mcdonalds you would get a warmer better welcome and smile. So disapointed . Maybe its because the staff are not trained? It can be extremely Indifferent bordering on rude. But hey its a casual diner with a massive ego hefty bill for the smallest thing. So you expect a bit more for your money. Milkshakes are nice . Lots of choice. I tend to ignor bad stuff but found myself unable to compliment could do with an improvment. Steps into the place and yne way its designed best to avoid if disabled. Cant fit wheelchairs or scooters. Or prams or anything would struggle but that cant be helped .

Stunning food, beautiful rustic restaurant, lovely staff, reasonably priced, chilled atmosphere! Street parking if you're lucky, or a car park is round the corner, about a 3 or 4 minute walk. Shakes are lush too! 6 of us ate, 3 adults, 3 kids, £102. I think that's pretty good, we all had a burger and a shake each, and we ordered 3 side dishes for the table to share. Not our first time here, and it won't be our last, we've never had a problem or any negative experience. 100% recommend!

Great place with great theme and huge selection of burgers and milkshakes. I had the peppercorn bacon burger and it was great! Only, very small, critism was that the music playing (soppy stuff) wasn't in keeping with the fantastic theme of the place.

Amazing food and an excellent waitress called Katie who I believe was team leader . Very busy with orders and take away but she managed the staff well and was attentive and friendly, whilst being extremely busy. I would definitely return here as this young waitress made us feel very welcome, served us quickly whilst it was very busy, was polite and knowledgeable on the food when we asked questions. Popped in here as we are currently staying in lizard and thoroughly enjoyed our evening! We had the pleasure of Cerys being our waitress and manager and she was fantastic! Incredibly polite, patient and ready to answer all our questions. We ordered the old fashion burger, Mac and cheese bites, Louisiana chicken stripes and some chips and the portions were a great size! Would highly recommend the Helston Branch and the food was great! Thank you!

Brilliant menu with a good number of vegan options for me, lots of meaty options for everyone else and the milkshake options were amazing. Lovely atmosphere, not noisy as it is a fairly small cafe/restaurant, great service, not expensive, good size portions and near a car park. It takes a lot to please me but this was fabulous. We all agreed that it was the best meal we had enjoyed throughout our holiday. I wish we lived nearer.

Great place for dinner. Superb portions well priced. Excellent burger, tex mex nachos and also vegetarian menu. Great for all the family. Our teens thought it was great. Super fun to try the authentic Mexican drink imports soft and beer. Amazing milkshakes to top it off. 1000s of variations possible with nearly every flavour, size and topping you can think of ❤️

Great little diner, believe can also get food from here at the pub across the road. Milkshakes are amazing and all the food we tried was excellent with greats portions/options. We visited twice because they have a great gluten free menu (my two girls are coeliac). Servers were excellent, both times, with a great knowledge of gluten-free options. Even served GF nachos and cheese while browsing the menu. Would highly recommend to all, GF and non GF. Definately coming back here on future Cornish trips.

Excellent place for lunch, always a bit nervous with a Coeliac / Lactose intolerant amongst us. But had some great options and went for the dairy free / gluten free Cheesy Cheese Burger and Fries ( separate frier ) and the rest of the family went for more standard burgers. Excellent food and service, highly recommended.

Love to visit Boo Koos when visiting family. Great selection of burgers and shakes. This time I'd say it was one the best burgers I've had in the last 18 months anywhere even better than my hometown. Had the red, white and blue with extra bacon it was superb. Staff are attentive, menu is vast and varied plenty to choose from.

Had been waiting to visit here for ages and to be honest was a bit of a let down, it was nice but wouldn't put ourselves out to go again. Do gluten and dairy free which is why we picked here, food was nice but average. The restaurant is a bit cramped and the tables aren't big enough if you have a family of 4 for example, burgers are on big round trays and fries separate so takes up a lot of table space, had to tip stuff out and try and get rid of water jug etc it was very uncomfortable and hot, took quite a while to just get a drink, but it was busy. Nice but nothing to shout about.

There was no space left in the Boo Koos itself. But we were told that we could sit across the street in the pub and order Boo Koo's food. It was then taken from the restaurant to the pub. Unique! The burgers were very good and the Pomeranians were delicious. The price was also good for the quality.

Tables a bit small for 6 people but really great food.

After numerous visits over the years, this remains our favourite burger spot in Cornwall! The burgers (and fries) are fantastic if you want an authentic American style burger patty and what’s most impressive is the reasonable prices! Unlike other local restaurants, Bookoos haven’t hiked their prices up so it’s a great option for a family meal out. We will always be regular customers :)

Best burger I've ever tasted! This place is an absolute gem of a find! The theme inside is spot on, the staff are fantastic, the food is outstanding and the value for money is unbelievable! I'll be back again many times for sure!

Came here for dinner with my kids and in-laws. One of my kids has allergies, they were amazing in making sure everything was OK and went above and beyond. The food was lovely and one happy child with complicated allergies.

Great tasting food and always a pleasure to eat in, but have ordered a takeaway 3 times and each one has had items missing. The last time I arrived, they were unsure of what orders they had fulfilled. Definitely needs some organisation improvement.

Burger was great and fries were tasty, its just the burger could have been hotter and the menu has too many decriptive words that distract from the actual i gredients, would recommend!

Popped in on Sunday night,just as England were playing, lucky to get a table, as it was as expected busy. Food and milkshake are excellent, Chloe was tremendous,as were all the staff. Glad we took a chance and came in. Definitely will be returning in the future Only slight disappointment was getting served on a rusty tray. But , it doesn't put us off coming back.

Absolutely divine milkshakes and tater tots, can't really comment on anything else other than the girl that served us had a miserable face on her, luckily we wasn't phased and enjoyed our experience, turn that frown upside down girly!

We arrived without booking and were directed to The Bell over the road where we could order the food from Boo Koo. Fantastic option as we ordered drinks at the bar with food being brought over the road. Food was amazing. Only negative would be the disposable cutlery we were given. Very difficult to eat a chicken burger and a hot dog with these. Would have been 5 stars otherwise.

Atmosphere was great, food came in good time. Tater tots and milkshakes were lovely, Mac and cheese bites average. The issues seemed to be the burgers for us. The Cajun chicken one was so dry, it was not an enjoyable eat the bun just fell apart, however the squealer burger (how ever insane it looked) had a curly hair grilled into the cheese! Instant put off and after finding that we discontinued eating the meal! This hair was not ours and as mentioned finding a curly blond/grey hair grilled into your cheese and sticking out the side of our burger is definitely not what you want! Sadly this has put us off ever returning.

Absolutely amazing vegan chicken burger!

Superb food. We had our dog with us, the restaurant itself doesn’t allow dogs, but directly over the road, is The Bell pub,you can order food from the restaurant and they bring it over. The outside seating at The Bell was lovely. We enjoyed the entire experience and will definitely be returning.

This place is amazing! Our third visit, we love eating here. The staff are all so friendly, and the service is excellent. I am gluten intolerant, and they had a separate full menu I could choose from, which is quite unusual. We were given complimentary tortillas and a warm cheese dip whilst we looked at the menus. The burgers were high quality and very tasty. We couldn’t resist the milkshakes afterwards, and they were fantastic. A lovely evening meal, highly recommend.

Mac and cheese bites are fantastic, all the food was very tasty, the burger baps could be a better quality. Service was fairly slow considering it was a click and collect. The milkshake bar looks great.

Some of the best burgers and milkshakes we've had. Came here originally 2 years ago on holiday and made the journey especially when we came on holiday to Bodmin this year.

Good food as always, but there was a passive aggressive American lady who I'm guessing is the new manager who made our group feel thoroughly unwelcome. The staff who have always been wonderfully friendly in the past didn't seem their usual selves either. A real shame, probably will drive the extra distance to the Falmouth branch in future

We got turned away because we arrived at 8pm but they close at 9pm? We arrived a whole hour before closing time and we would’ve been out before 9. What’s the point in being open if you’re not actually open?! Terrible service. We drive over 30 minutes to get there as well just to get turned away because “they’re closing” an hour early.

A little slow on our order food, but it was so worth the wait. Burgers are amazing, chips are amazing, great selection for Gluten Free, a large variety of milkshakes, it is perfect for a junk food fill. Go today, you wont be disappointed l.

Very good food. Would definitely recommend. If again in the area, will definitely come here again. Free Nacho and Cheese for starters. Good choice of Burgers and the naga ketchup is worth trying if you like hot chilli. Regular Portion size is very good. There is option to making it large.
