Bombay Mix Brixham in Torbay

Really looked forward to this curry just to be massively disappointed. Tandoori butter chicken was like a water sauce the chicken was like it was out of a packet chewy, the onion barges were over cooked burnt and dough in the middle. It arrived far too quick to be fresh. Save your money if you want a nice meal.

Because of the reviews on Tripadvisor we were apprehensive ordering, but all our meals were top notch . Delivery was good, our curries were interesting, spices were fresh and delicate , all proteins were cooked to perfection 10 out of 10.

Currently staying at South Bay holiday park and ordered for a family birthday for 4. Ordered via just eat. The food arrived early by a very polite delivery driver. The food was absolutely stunning and the portion sizes were spot on. We would definitely order again!

We ordered our takeaway online in the afternoon for delivery at 6.30pm. The food was stunning. It arrived on time and delivered to the door by a friendly and professional delivery driver. We have had takeaways from the Bombay Mix several time previously and have never been disappointed. We’ll certainly look forward to our next one which will probably be our Xmas lunch (delivered the previous evening of course).

I had a chicken madras sag aloo and mushroom rice, All of it was piping hot when we arrived in Dartmouth and very tasty too. Definitely worth the trip and we will be back so soon. You know when chicken pieces are actually chicken and not the rubbery rubbish you get in other take aways. WELL DONE BOMBAY MIX THANKS

The lamb tikka dhansak meat was tough. Very poor quality and the lentils in the sauce were not apparent (mush). The lamb tikka masala was the worst curry I have ever had. The sauce was so sweet, full of colouring and the meat was also tough. Frankly inedible. So I am not prepared to score. We were hoping this would become our local as this came from a recommendation.

Probably the worst 'curry' ever ! I had the Bombay Lamb Saffron - tough overcooked lamb, at least I think it was lamb, in a funked up pasta sauce ! Other main was not good either don't get me started on the pizza ! Best bit was the rice ! I could think of better ways to waste £45 ! ?

Have been ordering home delivery from Bombay Mix for years now, and same quality etc., ie no 'off days' so no disappointments. Took few orders to find our favourite curry, and great to know it will be the same every time! Meat always tender - handy with my poor teeth, melt in the mouth and lots of sauce. Only thing to improve - would like to add extras to curry eg mushrooms / spinach. Well done Brixham Grill.

Really fancied a curry, sadly this was not what we expected. It was 20 minutes late arriving although it was still hot and fresh. My korma was bland and tasteless and the pilau rice not much better. The tikka balti was okay to start but became way too sweet to finish. The chapatti was nice and freshly made. I wish I could say better but I just didn’t enjoy this meal 😢

I rarely leave reviews but hopefully this can save someone the same level of disappointment. I called up and was quoted £20 for 2 dishes with no sides. Both were bland (literally no flavour). Both also contained old meat with a strange texture. The worst...

Probably the worst Indian meal I've ever had, no authentic taste whatsoever, lots of red food colouring though so it looks the part! Complete waste of money, quantity is good but I'd much prefer quality, what a shame we were so looking forward to it.

Our first order from Bombay Mix and all I can say me and the family are really impressed with the quality flavour and amount of food we received a well deserved 5 out of 5 from us will definitely be ordering again.

I like curry , this was not a curry it was spicy tomato sauce with chicken and very salty . the bread was ok but the rest of it was the poorest i have ever had

As a family we ordered a delivery. We ordered a bhuna, dhansak, jalfrezi and Madras with pilau rice and naan breads and onion bhajis. The rice and sides were fine however the curries were appalling. Swimming in oil which we had to drain off down the sink before we could plate up which wasn't a good start. All the curries looked identical and neon red in colour. The flavour was awful and after a few mouthfulls we all had to throw it away and we were left feeling like a layer of oil was left in our stomachs. Not fit enough for our dog.

Indian/Bangladesh food is one of my favourite foods so when the Bombay Mix first opened we tried it and food was OK (unfortunately like most Indian/Bangladesh restaurants and take aways in Torbay) but I was ill next day with a stomach upset. It could have just be coincidental or it could have been the food. Anyways di not use it again until yesterday evening.

Was in Brixham to visit friends and ordered a range of dishes for an evening meal which was collected but they offer a delivery service. Food was great and was a treat to get decent Indian food from a takeaway. Will order again next time

One of the worst curry,s we have had it seemed the gravy had been put through a blender so it came out looking like porridge the chicken was over cooked so it was dry ,better curry restaurants in Brixham

Nuestra segunda experiencia culinaria de Bombay Mezcla Brixham y no me decepcionó. Pedimos una comida para llevar en línea, 45 minutos más tarde un jolly chappy entregado. waited 30 mins for the food from the take away ! had chicken korma , rice ,onion barjis got home tasted and put in bin ! korma was really poor , congealed like baby food ! onion bargis that I couldn't bite into ! rock hard ! guys get someone who can cook !would send my old lady , but she is your standard ! that's why I eat takeaways !

I first went to bombay mix a week after it opened. It was dreadful. I wenr again a couple of months later and it was okay. I decided to try it last week and it was amazing. Heaven on earth. The curry was beautiful and soft. New chefs were employed and compare to other restraunts in the area and the chinease next door. This is now me and my familys favourite choice. They offer lots of meals that arnt avaliable in other indian takeaways and they even have delivery. Typical indian dishes that I have never heard or seen before. Huge portions for the money and overall one of my top 5 best takeaways ever. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Staying at hillhead caravan site, ordered a madras and Massala.. I have had curries all over the UK and this was very nice.. Would definitely recommend....

Had a takeaway delivered, was very nice, big portion sizes as well, would definitely order again, be warned though the naga chicken dish is hot!

We bought our first meal this week and got to say it was a pleasant surprise to find this place, we have tried all around the Bay and think this one was great......... only moan is my garlic nam was little small and couldnt find the garlic lol. will be back again soon.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this curry was. They were good portion sizes except for the nan, it was tiny by usual standards so I recommend more than one if there is more than one of you.

We ordered a takeaway for a Friday evening. Food arrived within 40 mins, beautifully hot and freshly cooked. This restaurant prepares wonderful cuisine, dishes prepared here are not seen on all 'English' Indian menues. The three dishes were individual in design, with whole spices complementing the taste and texture. We have never, and we love Indian food, enjoyed such a standard of Indian cuisine. We are very lucky to have this restaurant in our village. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

The second time was a lot better, but over the last weekend boy as it got a lot better, that much we went twice?, it was that good and being from Manchester I like to think I know a thing or two about Curry's. Ordered takeout as some reviews were good and my sister (who doesn't eat meat) said this was the best in Brixham. Lamb Tika was tough chewy and tasteless and very red.Chicken Madras was also red slightly salty the chicken was ok but the madras sauce was not good.Onion Bhaji were also FLAT and dry like supermarket style cant believe this is supposed to be a ok takeout.the order was expensive but most places are in this area, wont be eating from here again.

Ordered a takeaway from here tonight, we were very disappointed in the food. The main meal was all red, two different dishes, they are obviously using food colouring, you don't get red sauce in any dish. The samousas' were okay, they were brought in, not a typical Indian samousa. The onion bhaji, well what can I say! Obviously made on the premises, too much flour, so dense you couldn't taste the onion, a lot more flour than onion. They were the size of a saucer! Last but not least, the naan bread, that was extremely dense and inedible. Sorry, it wasn't worth the money.

Saturday night- so expected it to be busy. I rang up 20 mins before collection and put in my order and then collected (but they do deliver) it was right on time as they said and was delicious! Even my parents enjoyed it (and they are very picky) not badly priced and was so nice to see all the chefs cooking it in view. Looked a very clean new takeaway! Just wish it had parking as all double lined but would definitely return!!

Had 3 take way deliveries for the first time and not dissapointed. From telephone order to delivery less than 1/2 an hour. Upon unpacking our several dishes the sauces/meal contents had slopped out a bit making a mess..... this not so good.Poppadoms were soft but otherwise the food on the whole excellent. Would recommend this Indian takeway to anyone who enjoys real good authentic individual dishes that are slightly different to the norm, Thank you Bombay Mix!

I ordered for the first time from this restaurant and I was quite happy with my vegetarian Korma, rice and vegetable somosa! Everything was simply delicious! And the little salad that came with it was a yummy plus! The restaurant itself is very clean and the people friendly! I will visiting this takeout over and over again :)

We use Bombay Mix for home delivered take aways regularly. Food is good, orders are always correct and delivery is good.

Ordered a curry at 7:45 & was advised it would be an hour - was ok with this as not unusual for a Saturday night. However, had to chase up at 21:06 and was told it would be with us within 20 mins. It arrived at 21:50. After all this we hoped the food would be good, only to be disappointed again. The onion bhaji was inedible - really dry and looked nothing like a bhaji - more like a dried up fritter. The curries were watery and not at all spicy/tasty. Even the poppadoms tasted stale. The garlic nan was nice, so if you still want to eat from here, this is the only item I would recommend. Shop were not overly helpful in offering a discount on the next order, but can say we will never order from there again!!

This was the worst curry I have ever had the misfortune to taste. It took over two hours to deliver after making 3 calls to chase..the curries were watered down and tasteless.. Nans were stuck to wrapping Bahji flat and hard.. Terrible experience from start to finish..

As we entered my brother-in-law who lives in Brixham said that the owner was going to do the cooking, and my,my was it good, absolutely brilliant (why doesn't he cook all the time??) . Very efficient ordering service backed up with a text confirming the order. You can choose a chosen delivery window with half hour slots. On this occasion I ordered lamb dansak which was very tender and this has not always been the case with other takeaways. Very reasonable price wise too, thank you. Overall very very good.

While on holiday in Brixham my boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to a take away. Not knowing anything on the take-outs around the area we picked up the menu in the reception and decided to give it a go. The prices for separate meals (single curries ect.) seemed a bit much, but the set meals were very good for their price. We got a set meal and the gentleman on the phone was happy to change one of the curries and the aloo for myself at no extra cost. I couldn't hear him very well as there was a lot of back ground noise so it took a little while longer, but was not a problem. We got a phone call not long after telling us that the driver will be arriving at reception within 5 mins and asked if we could meet him there. My boyfriend went down and met him within 3 mins and said he was very polite and held a short conversation with him while the transaction was being made.The food was fantastic, and there was a lot of it. The only things that let it down were the fact that both of the naan bread was burnt, and I couldn't enjoy mine as I do not like burnt food. Also the mango chutney was more of a jam, but that still tasted nice and I was able to eat it with my meal.All together it was a fantastic meal, and the service was brilliant. If you stay in Brixham and are looking for a take-out this should be the one you go to!

This take-away is one of the best we've ever had. We placed the order on-line on Christmas Eve for delivery between 8pm and 8.30pm. The delivery driver was prompt, friendly and courteous. We kept the meal for our dinner the following day, and it was flavoursome, hot, really tasty and great value for money. It had warmed up really well and didn't lose any of it's tastiness, if anything it matured. We will certainly be going back for more.

Great Indian take-away! Lots of choice and their special meal for one is astoundingly good value! Particularly impressed that the online ordering service allows you to choose the spice factor too...for those who like it hotter!The best Bombay Potatoes - they should offer these as a main!Fast delivery service. We ordered takeaway to arrive at our campsite on a Thursday evening. They called when they arrived at reception just as requested, and we went to meet the delivery driver. The set menus were great value at £8.95 each for curry, rice, Bombay aloo, popadom, and an onion bhaji. The amount of food was certainly sufficient, and it was hot.But the popadoms tasted stale, and the onion bhaji was also dry and stale. The curry, rice and Bombay aloo was good though (Bombay Aloo was my fave!).

Now twice We have eaten well from this place, takeaway food is excellent, and plentiful. No not cheap as compared to the Midlands but sadly that is Torbay for you.I do not give a recommendation easy as next time it could be all different.I hope they stay good, as there is only two good food takeaways in Brixham. This is one.

Having read reviews about Indian take away's in Brixham we ( four of us ) decided on the Bombay Mix. The food was quite pricey. The starters were okay, as were some of the main courses, the only problem was my sister-in-law ordered the Bombay Noodles which consists of, Chicken Tikka, Mushrooms, Prawns, Spinach and Paneer. Unfortunately the Mushrooms, Spinach, Paneer were missing and only THREE pieces of chicken and the Prawns were rock hard and Noddles were crispy??. Absolutely ruining are night in. Sorry wont be going back to the Bombay Mix

I can`t understand these reviews at all. This was the worst curry I`ve ever had, it went in the bin! We ordered for 4 people, so it wasn`t cheap either, what a total waste of money.

We are down in Devon on our holidays staying gets a cottage in Brixham. Fancied a night in so we ordered a takeaway from the Bombay mix. We actually ordered meal over the Internet and the service was excellent came within about 10 minutes. The food was tasty and fresh and very different to dishes that we ordinarily have back at home, so we had an excellent experience.

I have ordered several times from this takeaway and consistently delivers brilliant food. Food always delivered on time and hot, pleasant delivery staff. Offers the chance to order online before they open so food is when you want it. Value for money, you can request your food how you like it and its cooked to your taste, even my 2 year old loves it! Keep up the good work. Easily the best indian in the bay!

Brilliant! Three of us had a set meal for 1 each, amazing value for money! £8.95 for a curry, rice, poppadom, salad, bajhi, and bombay aloo! All stuffed, all very happy with the flavours and chuffed with the pricing. We will be back!

We decided to order or meal from the Bombay Mix using their online ordering system (our first order with them.)While the system is actually very good, there is no option to pay online (e.g. Paypal) - you either have to pay cash at the door or the restaurant will ring you back to get your credit card details. We opted for the "Cash on delivery" option.After about an hour and ten minutes of waiting, I rang the restaurant to be told that my order had "just left" - the chap was very apologetic and even gave us free popadoms.A further ten minutes later the food arrived (complete with two free bottles of lager!) and further apologies.The food itself was good quality, extremely tasty and piping hot (always a good sign).We will definitely order from the Bombay Mix again, but the delivery is something we will look at with interest - 1 hour 20 minutes is quite a wait, and hopefully is the exception rather than the rule.

Being August and as The Bombay Mix is situated in the quieter part of Brixham, we had no wait to be served and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our meal was excellent value and very enjoyable.

Modern open-kitchen place in old (Higher) Brixham area.... had two meals delivered. Easy to order; they arrived at the promised time, and were well up to expectation. No hesitation in recommending them.

My first takeaway from here, on good recommendations, and certainly pleased with the result. Enough food for 2 meals, of first quality. Open kitchen layout, sadly masked by the pile of takeaway containers, so it is quite difficult to watch your food being cooked, unless you are 8 foot tall. The guy who takes the orders could be a bit more cheerful as well, after all, you are taking my money ! Still, minor quibbles, the food is what matters, it was superb, I will be back !

I have been here a dozen times before and was always greeted by friendly staff and more than happy with the food the last 2 times however new staff very rude and couldn't care how late your food is or if there is food missing from your order,, and the fact I was waiting for 30mins after per ordering it in plenty of time not cool. Yea so if there bissy with orders that's there jobs so I'd expect them to be capable of it!!! I had beef pathia it was the most tasteless Indian thing I've ever had and my better half had chicken korai , I thought she was going to korai when she tasted it!! Such a shame, won't be back ever again!!!!!

I ordered on line, which was very easy and I was impressed. That's where my being impressed ended.After one hour twenty minutes no take away had arrived. I phoned and was told it was on its way. This was true as my order turned up about ten minutes later.On opening my order I wish it hadn't.I take it the chef is a Man Utd supporter. Everything was dyed bright red. Loads of food dye and very, very, little coriander, ginger, garlic, cumin, chilli. Also very few prawns (five to be exact) they had plenty of room to swim about in a tasteless red sea of guteness gunge. It was really was tasteless and uneatable.I will not be using this takeaway again.Shame the food is not as good as the online ordering process

We were camping at upton manor farm campsite and on our last night fancied an Indian. We rang and placed the order and the lady on the other end of the phone was very polite. We spent a lot of money (over £100) and they were happy to throw in some freebies. The food was delivered to the campsite exactly at the time they said and the food was really hot. No mistakes were made with the order and the food was fantastic. Each of us really enjoyed our dinner. Would definitely recommend if you want a take away.

We visit Brixham every year for our holidays and spend at least one night enjoying the lovely food of this Indian. The staff are great, the atmosphere lovely, the food brilliant. Can't fault it in any way. We have not had a take away but I can assume the food is prepared the same as the restaurant so will be good!!
