Lovely food only just tried this place recently. Unfortunately they've had a possession order and it looks like they're no longer in business.

As the previous reviewer. Booked in for a Saturday evening. No information given over the phone about lack of alcohol licence. Arrived & were told to go & grab some alcohol if we wanted a drink with our curry… no mention of corkage. Returned with our supplies only to be informed that it’s £7 to open a bottle of wine & £1 per can of beer. An absolute joke. We voted with our feet & left. Hopefully everyone else does the same.

Absolute joke. Made a booking in anticipation. Get to restaurant...no alcohol being served. Waiter/Manager suggests I go an purchase beers/wine from shop next door. I do so. Then they decide to charge corkage charge on each can and bottle of wine we open. They are lucky I give 1 star. Weekend ruined.

Table service is very poor, mainly because of staffing levels.The manager has an aggressive attitude towards constructive criticism.

Absolutely appalled by Bombay Blussi Birkdale. Had a booking last night at 7pm for my son’s 21st meal, arrived to find the door locked and place in darkness. I’d been in contact with them earlier, as I’d tried to drop his cake off, and they assured me they opened at 5.30! Messaged them through Facebook which they chose to read and ignore. Thanks for spoiling his evening.

Stumbled upon this place as everywhere else seemed to be closed on Mondays. So glad we found it as it was one of the best Indian meals. Work your way through the specialities as the ones we tried were fabulous. We will be back.

This restaurant was recommended by friends as the best Indian in the area. We went last night for my birthday and we were delighted with the premises, service and ambience. The food was certainly the best we have had for a long time. True authentic food with a great choice on the menu. We would certainly recommend the Bombay Blussi in Birkdale.

I have ordered takeaway from Bombay Blussi twice now and the food is wonderful. Everyone agreed that it was the best Indian food we had eaten in a long time. The staff are so pleasant and well mannered when taking orders and on collection. I have booked to eat in the restaurant in a few weeks and can’t wait! The restaurant is very stylish and clean

Hands down the best Indian takeaway I've ever had

We visited this restaurant around a year ago and the food was terrible, it cost over £100 and the owner was rude, arrogant and confrontational. We decided to give this restaurant another try this evening, the food was bland, cold and burnt, again we complained and wasn’t even offered a replacement or reduction, we would never order from this restaurant again, bad food and terrible management! Very disappointing, overpriced and poor!!!

Ordered here for the first time tonight, lovey indian food but just moved to southport this is one of the best indian take aways l have ever had, l have eaten indian every Saturday night for year's but this beat them. All will definately visit once lockdown is over.

Fantastic. It's restaurant quality food to take away. We tried it for the first time last Saturday and it was amazing! Service is excellent too, everything was ready on time for us to collect. Will definitely be using them again.

Without exception, this is the BEST restaurant in the area. The food is remarkable, the service is exceptional, the place is absolutely spotless and it has a great atmosphere. Most definitely my favourite place to eat out. Try the Himalayan Chicken!

Ordered a meal for son & myself last night . Great choice of vegan food for me and plenty of choice for him too .I collected as I only live around the corner & everything was ready when I arrived .The food was excellent and good sized portions too .We will certainly be back for more !

Our food was delivered during the Coronavirus pandemic. First time delivery. Food arrived on time, having ordered it the night before. The main courses were chicken haandi & king prawn shaslick.The chicken dish had plenty of chicken& was pleasantly spicy. Sides of a generous portion of pillau rice. But the aloo gobi didn't have much gobi at all.The prawn dish had plenty of prawns & vegetables too.We will certainly order from here again soon, especially during this pandemic.

We hadn’t been out for an Indian meal for a long time, so tried this on recommendation. We live close to the station in Hightown so the location in Birkdale was perfect. The waiters were friendly and helpful. All the food was delicious, very fresh tasting and reasonably priced. If you have mobility issues access will be difficult as the restaurant is up stairs.Take aways can be ordered down stairs.

Went here on a busy Saturday night and the food was beautiful! I had the King Prawn Shashlik (Tandoori) with a Bhuna sauce on the side. My partner got Chicken Tikka Bhuna and loved it. Both were so tasty and they were not heavy at all. In fact it almost feels as though they’re healthy! Delicious. The staff were run off their feet but were still polite and accommodating. Will definitely be going back.

We came up to Southport/ Birkdale for New Year, and have been celebrating for what seemed days, so we needed a curry, our friends recommended this place and although quiet, still had a good atmosphere, service was good and staff knowledgeable, food was very good and plentiful, larger portions than we get in the south!! We had a great evening and would certainly visit again.

I went to eat here last night with my son. We thought the food was just delicious and the service was amazing. They people/ waiters were so polite and attentive without being intrusive. The only comment I could suggest is that they might have more veggie options but I stress that this is not a criticism!

The food here is just on another level. I recommend the South Indian garlic chilli chicken tikka, hard for me to order from anywhere else now!

Food is great, the service is of a high standard but the cost is more than reasonable. Could not fault anything and had a really good night out. Recommend booking at weekends as get very busy and there can be a queue to get a table. Would recommend this restaurant even for people trying Indian for the 1st time.

Great food, it's worth ordering in advance 3 days, the whole lamb for 6. All you need to compliment it is your drinks. There is so much good curried lamb accompanied with different types of rice and bread. It feeds six and more.

Had the Baltic, was delicious. Amazing samosas.

The food is as good as it gets. The ambiance amazing. The waiters very good and not too overwhelming. The prices are not the cheapest but worth every penny. I cannot over praise this fantastic restaurant. I will keep going back.

This is a great place, the staff are excellent and the food ‘to die for’. You need to book ahead to avoid being disappointed. There’s not a bad dish on the menu and the value is very good.

The food was excellent (as always), but we were asked to leave our table seconds after finishing our mains ‘to go downstairs’. We politely refused because we hadn’t finished our drinks or been offered coffee and were then asked to leave again 10 minutes later. (We had been in the restaurant for about 1 hours 20 minutes by this point, much of which was waiting for the food/drinks to arrive). The waiter then sarcastically advised us that we could “stay all night then, if you want”. Used to love this place. Won’t go there again or recommend to anyone we know...

Service was shockingly slow waited over an hour for main course, when the food eventually came it was cold. Long time in between drink orders.waiter only came to us twice, there were only 2 of us. But customers (table of 6) who came in a long time after us where served first? At 1 point we where considering to walk out. Will be along time until we return if at all we do ☹☹☹

Went for a meal here for the first time with friends last night . the service was so friendly, the food was amazing you could taste such beautiful spices coming through and such nice flavours was truly yummy.the atmosphere was great and clean and lovely seating. Really can recommend this restaraunt.

Table booked for 8.30pm for a special occasion. Arrived at 8.25 to find table not ready. Asked to wait and have drinks so I asked when table would be ready and was told they didn't know 'probably in about 10 minutes' Suggested we go next door for a drink and would come back in half an hour to give them time to get table prepared. Asked them if they were sure it would be ready and told 'yes'. Came back at 9pm and restaurant was even busier, table still not ready and proprietor rushed to dress table as we were stood there waiting. Eventually sat down to study menu, couple sat down next to us 5 minutes after we did were then approached before us and asked if they wanted drinks. They were also approached to order before we were. We sat there for 15 minutes without ordering and completely disgusted with the level of service, we got up and left. I'm sure the food is excellent in there I've heard good things, but the night was ruined. They were clearly under-staffed and incapable of controlling numbers. Will not be back.

The food, as ever, was fabulous except the popadoms were not "crisp' but that s only a minor point.

The night of the 21/6 omg! Amazing the food here sooooo good the lamb punjab so tasty the meat just melted in the mouth, thanking the staff friendly and attentive they worked hard for a busy night cant wait to come back :)

Really great Indian food, and we eat alot of Indian food. Highly recommend.

Having read some of the reviews on here we went with some hesitation. To be fair both the food and service were excellent. Very tasty food, good portion size and the service was attentive and funny without being too pushy, we’ll definitely be going back!

The foods is nice. It is around about the same quality as a take away. The service however was awful. The waiters were running around so fast and not attentive at all. Serval mistakes made with our order and the table next to us. We waited a very long time in-between drinks orders

Really friendly staff and the place to go for really nice Indian food. Will be going again soon.

Quality food if a little expensive

We have been to this restaurant on several occasions and this week it was very poor.

booked a meal for 4 with good freinds had the first two courses then had a plate with 4 mintS thrust on the table we said we have not finished we want a sweet and cofee then told we need the table you will have to go i said we will go when ready then they came back 2 minutes later telling us to go again---- not cheap average food owned by the local con man AVOID AVOID AVOID

I was in the group of 10 last night that were messed about terribly. Why is it so difficult for a restaurant that serves such excellent food to get their bookings sorted out and their staffing levels manage accordingly. I have spoken to so many people who have had exactly the same experience at Bombay Blussi which is a great shame as the food is excellent. Customers will not return when they are messed about so badly and in effect left hungry. It is not the young waiters fault as they were doing their best to manage a "train wreck" situation, but where was any management????? If you carry on like this you will go out of business

Table for 10 booked two months ago, confirmed again the evening before. Arrive at 8pm on time. Advised table not ready, could we wait 15 minutes. Went to the bar next door. Got a phone call at 8.25 offering £80 voucher not to dine! Declined as there was no alternative as the other Birkdale restaurants were fully booked and then told it would be another 30 minutes. Arrived again at 9pm. No table ready, eventually given a table for 8 and tried to squash us in. Given free beer and poppadoms but by 10pm we had had enough and walked out. Unlikely we would ever be served. Only two young staff on, many dirty glasses on the bar. Other diners were also complaining about the length of service.

Shocking, truly shocking. Booked a table for 10 people weeks ago for 8pm. At 9.15pm we were given a table for 8 people! I walked out. Won't give my hard earned cash to a business that gives no customer service. If I could give negative stars, I would!

Great people and most important fabulous food

We fancied an Indian meal and were looking on the Internet this one seemed nice so we booked a table for two when we got there it’s a lovely place and the food was really really really good cannot fault it.

Possibly the best quality Indian food I've ever tasted. The most polite and helpful staff too. So much to choose from and everything looks amazing. Really good value for money. We look forward to every meal.

Have never been treated so badly in a restaurant. Table booked for 8:45pm. Arrived on time to be told table not ready & will be 10mins - ok. 30 mins later we told them we’d have a drink elsewhere and come back. 45 mins later returned to be told table still not ready ! Came back 1hr 15mins later to be told incredibly people still on our table so not ready. Not a single apology from the manager who is rude and desperately needs to go on a “be polite to the customers” course. It was now past 10pm so we left and went to the Kasturi in Southport (much better anyway). Have never been treated with so little respect in a restaurant and WILL NEVER BE SETTING FOOT IN THERE AGAIN.

Just so you know we have been lots of times . We have had consistently great food. Recently though the service is getting worse and more unpleasant. The last time I was really uncomfortable with the behaviour of the manager to his staff which appeared to amount to bullying.

Up a flight of stairs to restaurant, decor very good, exceptionally clean and as interior is mostly white it has to be! We were only customers for the whole of our meal,see photo. Food was fair to middling and does not stand out from competitors in Southport area. Staff were extremely helpful. Would recommend with the caveat that you set expectations accordingly.

Went for the first time following a local recommendation. We were recommended to book, so did, and just as well as even at 7pm on a Saturday it was busy. The decor in the restaurant is modern and crisp. The restaurant is compact so nois levels went up as it filled - not to an intolerable level but no5 a lace for her hard of hearing!

To be fair this first visit with my daughter took place at peak time on the first Saturday in December, though the restaurant was understaffed by at least 50% and the very young waiting staff who were there were already masters at avoiding eye contact. Popadoms , pickle tray and initial bar drinks arrived within 5 mins but there was then a wait of at least 45 mins before our food order was taken and another 25 mins before the starters arrived. However, we were eventually rewarded with piquant Tandoori starters and my main of Lamb Madras was truly excellent. I have ordered the same meal all over the UK and abroad for over 20 years, and this was probably the second best example I have ever had anywhere, loaded with succulent fat-free lamb cubes and accompanied by a saag bhaji full of fresh spinach leaves. We didn't try for dessert as new tables were still being filled. We look forward to coming back again when I'm next in town as the food is so good,but will aim for a mid-week night next time!

We visited here last night & had booked a table for 9pm we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. Another group also waited a similar time.

Have been to Bombay Blussi a number of times and the food is always excellent and the staff are all so friendly. Wanted to write the review as we went last night with family one of whom is coeliac so must have gluten free, and the Bombay Blussi guys were brilliant, double checking everything to make sure everything ordered was ok to eat. Really great service that was appreciated.

Been 3 times and amazing. Staff were brilliant and got me to try something new. Favourite Indian and I live in ainsdale so travel here for this!!
