It was quiet for a Friday lunch. On arrival several tables had not been cleaned away and there was quite a bit of food on the floor. Not a great first impression. My order came quickly. The flat white was closer to a latte and the veg ciabatta was tasty but not outstanding. Someone did attempt to clear the tables but none were sprayed or wiped down and there were still bits left on the table (sugar, bits of paper). The floor was left unswept. The table I sat at was sticky. I was probably not the target customer as most others were students. It was all just a bit grubby and I left feeling disappointed and wouldn't return.

The coffee and food were both wonderful. We felt that they were both great quality and reasonably priced. Perfect for any time – we went post parkrun.

Located off the beaten track with car parking. On entering it was a bright and airy space full of students who size you up and down whilst they are doing work on there laptops. Around the back is a toddlers area . It was very full with only one very small dirty sticky table left . My wife ordered a vegan chocolate bombe which was absolutely tasteless the latte was excellent. My americano was ok but nothing great. There was a very disappointing selection of cookies and cakes left even though we went about 13:00 on a Saturday . £10 was a bit steep for what we had but again they don’t have to try too hard as the students prop it up. We won’t be going back

Full of students who stare at you if you’re not one of them. Slow rubbish service. Have to queue for ages at the counter to order, whilst staff are prepping food at the same time and putting it on the side. You then also have to go back up to collect your own food / drinks when ready. Not ideal when you’re with a baby in a high chair, staff bringing the order to the table would be better. Food was good but expensive for what it was. Limited choice as all savoury items had sold out by the time we visited at 1:30pm. Got glared at by staff for ordering a chocolate cookie to take away not long before closing time. Won’t be returning

Cool vibe. A bit different. Very friendly staff. Felt a bit unclean. Tables were not wiped down. Wiped my own table down then everything stuck to it. (Probably the glue or varnish coming off the wood but doesn’t feel good!). Food expensive and mediocre. Reheated and Luke warm. Coffee ok. But just ok. I’m always loathe to pay £3 for coffee I could make better myself at home. Need a bit of crema to pay top dollar!

Super friendly owners who helped with a personalised order. Visited several times and the treats are always tasty. It has a varied menu with a good range of vegetarian products.

Popped by today whilst waiting in the area. Really glad I did. Although the approach isn’t glamorous once inside you are greeted by a clean and stylish cafe. Welcoming and engaging staff serving very good coffee and in house made cakes and biscuits. Their gluten free Nutella brownie in particular is awesome!

Went in this morning to see if this place was really the number one place in Loughborough. Sorely disappointed. My coffee at home from Costco was more flavoursome and the food was ok, but nothing to write home about or justify the higher than average price. Bacon was undercooked in my personal opinion. Also allowing dogs to clamber up the counter with their front paws was not really doing it for me. So all in all if you're a hip trendy young thing, then this is for you. Style over substance. Will not be returning.

Amazing customer service. People greeting as soon as you entered and were so polite whilst also being warm and friendly. Food and drink was brilliant and can’t wait to visit again. Especially after lockdown where I won’t have to takeaway

I've been going here since it opened. Now in lockdown they have refreshed the menu and breakfast, lunch & snacks are all still amazing. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for and this place has the most delicious menu. Drinks are spot on. Can't wait until they reopen properly with longer hours and space to sit again! Cool vibe.

I would give this place a hundred stars if it was possible. Love the Canal House location. I avidly follow their Instagram page which always updates you on the latest food items. The new kids area is terrific, I went there for breakfast with two kids on a weekday, only had to wait ten minutes for food. Both devoured their porridge and my own bowl was so good! Later (I think a female owner?) came over to ask me how the food was and the kids verdict, she was keen to get feedback on the new 2020 range. Needless to say, we will be going back. Tomorrow perhaps?!

The original Bom Bom was one of my favourite lunch spots at uni. This new location is as lovely as expected, very beautiful interior. The seating is still limited sometimes as it’s very popular. Cookies and brownies are to die for. The soup and Paninis are delicious and fresh. I’ve always had great lattes (with milk alternatives) until this weekend, mine was not full, a little messy and generally didn’t taste as delicious as usual. Also the service has usually been impeccable at both locations. Knocked a star off as this weekend the lady on the counter was a little rash and not overly helpful/friendly when we asked about vegan options (which I know they have plenty of). Overall, I would recommend as I’ve only had 1 mediocre experience out of about 15 excellent visits.

We popped in for a quick bite to eat on Saturday as we were doing some local shopping. As it was a sunny day, the few seats outside were taken, but we managed to get a table inside. Service was friendly and helpful and as soon as I discovered the quiche was homemade, I just had to try it. I chose the individual cheese and caramelised onion quiche. It was delicious! A lovely little independent cafe!
