Excellent food, very quick to get the breakfasts out and cooked perfectly. I have been going for year and can’t say I have ever been disappointed. Well done to all the staff (cafe and shop) and here’s to many more years of great food and service.

The Yorkshire pudding with beef and onion was delicious but I'd have preferred less meat and some vegetables with it. A little disappointed that our table wasn't cleared once we'd finished eating. There were staff available to do this as not too busy. Would definitely visit again though. The farm shop itself was very nice and the staff there were very helpful.

We had seen this place on YouTube and decided to visit on our way to York.It was really good.Staff were friendly and the food was really good.

Disappointed. Came with my mother as a treat for her. We were hardly in the door when a staff member told us to go get a table number, then order. And that was understandable, she was just very abrupt. We ordered our food and drink. My cappuccino did not have foam, and was a latte, and left me quite disappointed. My sausage roll was only warm on the crust, and the meat was cold. When I went to get cutlery, there was only 1 knife, and it was used. Our waitress rolled her eyes at us, and didn’t seem like she cared, as she spilled my drink onto our table, then left without a word. Very expensive for very average. Really sad to be leaving a bad review because I hear a lot of good things about this place. And my experience left me not really wanting to come back.

Sloppy breakfast- beans & tinned tomatoes creating a wet effect. Coffee was good and well made But I am afraid it’s an overpriced and overrated venue.

Best breakfast we’ve ever had, the ladies on the pass were very efficient and food was out promptly and hot, and well presented. The only downfall the cutlery was empty, and when replenished still were some dirty ones. We will definitely visit again and hope the cutlery issue was a one off as the food was worth coming back to!

Very ‘wet’ breakfast from combo of chopped tomato juices, mushroom juices and bean juices. Ruined any crispness of the rest of the items. Very poor presentation - fried egg just plonked on top of the breakfast ‘soup’. Had drunk the hot hot drinks by the time the food arrived. Not impressed.

Visited on a Sunday. Very disappointed. It was around 3pm and it closes at 4pm. When I went to order the cashier raised her eyes when I ordered hot food and then shouted to see if the kitchen would still cook it. How embarrassing! The food was not up to scratch as we have had before. We left at 3.50pm after being bothered by waitresses old and young who were hovering around waiting for us to depart. This seems to happen every weekend we go. So be warned everyone. So very sad. We are really put off going again and I love the shop

We first went to Bolster moor after seeing on rate my takeaway on YouTube we have been several times since and just love it, service in the café very quick and waitresses very pleasant, the shop is amazing with so many great products, you really can't go wrong, we take all our visitors and everyone loves it.

Very disappointed after hearing such great things. Small vegetarian breakfast very disappointing, not good value for money. Toast rock hard. BLT served on a thick muffin/breadcake.... Very odd. Chips on children's meal, dry and hard, must have been kept warm for a long time. Table needed clearing, we were having coffee and cakes too and all our dirty plates (with food we had left) were on the table. Won't be visiting again....

It’s been a number of years since visted the cafe as i live in Birmingham now but i was visiting my mum and i thought it would be nice for her ❤️ it was amazing the food is fantastic and the service is also fantastic i wish i lived nearer now … loved it

A splendid place to visit for a late breakfast or early lunch in our case. The breakfast was delightfully presented, perfectly cooked and delivered to the table with a smile. Alongside the Bolster Moor Farm Shop, it was a pleasure to visit afterwards, and buy yet more excellent stuff.

We visited for breakfast with one of our party who is Gluten Free, on ordering i asked for one gluten free breakfast along with breakfast for the others. When the order came i asked to make sure the gluten free was the one given to the person who needed it and was assured it was. It turned out the waitress mixed the order up and gave the wrong one to the gluten free person , within minutes she suffered severe stomach ache.I complained to the manager and was offered a free breakfast the next time we visit. No apology .My Point is that these people really want to make sure there staff are fully briefed on the dangers of such mistakes. It could cost someone there life. Why cant they have little flags on a cocktail stick marked gluten free to show which meals are gluten free.

I was out with two friends one was in a wheelchair, the waitress asked if it was a table for two and a wheelchair . Which was quite rude why not just say is it a table for three? Then the other waitress said when the table was ready is it for two and a half people? How is a person in a wheelchair half a person? This upset our friend made him feel invisible . Needless to say we won't be coming again

Came here on Sat 19th Sept as a family of 3 for a late lunch. The Covid protection precautions are very good in the cafe, you queue up in a socially distanced corridor system till you get to the 1st desk where you give your tracing details & are told how to proceed, then you order & pay at the 2nd desk, you're given a table number to sit at which are all divided up by wooden fence panels so you feel safe from other people. The staff were efficient but not that friendly apart from the girl on the order till who was pleasant.1 strange thing was a side door was open letting in a draft, I asked whether it could be closed but a waitress said it was government regulations to have a door open at the moment !! None of the other cafes, pubs & restaurants we've been to recently seem to do this, luckily it's only September so wasn't too cold yet. 1 of us ordered a big breakfast, 1 a small breakfast & 1 a chicken & bacon wrap with salad etc. The food was average for the price we felt the bacon was very tasty but we thought the sausage was too thin. The toast was nice thick bread with a little pot of marmalade, everything else was ok but not really special as it wasn't cheap. Our son's wrap didn't have that much chicken in it either. We were going to have a look in the farm shop next but noticed a sign outside saying only 1 person per family allowed in at a time, as other reviewers have commented on, it seems a bit much now to still demand this, we were all wearing masks of course. We decided not to bother going in as we wanted to browse together, we drove to Brosters farm shop nearby instead which limits the numbers to 12 people in the shop at once, so you can go in with a member of your family, a more reasonable system surely? So Bolster Moor missed out on our trade as others have stated.

After staying overnight at Titanic spa, on the way home spotted this fabulous farm shop and tea rooms. Everything COVID-19 friendly and well managed. Excellent service, food was great! Highly recommended.

Judith is obsessed with farm shops so this seemed like the perfect place to take her for lunch whilst we were in the area. The queue for the coffee shop was rather large but that was an indicator that the food was going to be good. We enjoyed the chilli burger that much that we went and bought some from the farm shop to have at home. Here’s to hoping Judith can cook them as nicely!

Same as other reviewers, was treated and spoken to appallingly by Simon, this man certainly knows how to reduce his customer count as this is another one lost, feel sorry for Andrew as he is a very decent man. Anyone would have thought we had committed murder with the way we were spoken to when my wife(carer) and I went in keeping distanced, its a shame that they didn't say anything to the couple in front of me who were side by side and clearly shopping and getting served as a couple, even saw 4 more couples go in whilst waiting in the car park for 5 minutes bet they all didn't get the same treatment. Anyhow not wasting anymore typing time on this ignorant fella.

This is our first visit since March and felt really safe.Visited farm shop and also very well organised in following regulations, etc and keeping customers safe. Never made it into cafe. Queuing out of door with rain coming down. Had 92year old aunt with us and told we all had to enter cafe together as one party. Not sure she would have coped with length of wait never mind the rain! Normally I would score 5 for this cafe but today——? Why is there no booking system? There is no way the cafe would lose out but pretty sure they will have lost a number of customers today and we are not planning to return any time soon.The way you have organised inside looks brilliant but perhaps rethink booking system

I arrived after lunchtime, entered the shop and was told its a one person per household policy. Could they not put this request on the front gate of the entrance so, time isn't wasted. I wouldn't have bothered if I had known this. How many people do you think would go in if first knowing this?. Plus I was overcharged £16 for potatoes, this was corrected. Not a great experience, far too expensive for the vegetables. Staff are a bit aloof in their attitude.

I go to Bolster Moor Farm Shop often and have never had a bad experience! You sometimes have to wait a while for a table, but that is just expected because it is so popular and people are willing to wait. I highly recommend the bacon sandwiches and hot beef sandwiches! Service throughout lockdown has also been excellent!

This coffee shop has obviously "lost" its regular trade so has adapted its premises and menu to a take out service. Good service and great cake and coffee - just what needed when out for daily exercise.

Went for dinner, as I called in the Farm shop, that is very good service,How ever the Cafe is a very nice building, butStaff cook be better, I called in on the 19/03/20 was told I could not sit in the middle, as room was being cleaned, however no cleaners in sight, then next 4 people came in, and took the table I wanted,I ordered yorkshire pudding stew, and 11 people got served before me, who came in after me.The Phillipine cook does mess about, seems more interested in Talking than getting on with the work, I did watch her swinging the yorkshire puddings in the frozen clear bags, before i eventuall got them,and the old girls waitress, are not happy looking, I say chear up,Forgot to say the Breakfast is poor, better at the local Cafe.

Called at Bolster Moor for a late lunch. Everything was still available even breakfast. We was very good and had a sandwich/breakfast first. Pacing ourselves for the cakes which we had already noticed. Definitely the cakes are worth having. Very large portions and extremely well priced. We live quite close to Bolster Moor but hadn't visited before, but it is definitely in the list now. The farm shop next door worth a visit also.

Ask the guy to make me cheese on current t cake he out red cheese i asked him for white cheese to be told this or none i told him i want it with hardly no cheese their was that i scraped out most of the cheese in to a bag if i bought more t cakes i could have made 2 more sarnies swiss too mutch suger on the top too mutch jam they would be lovely if it wasent for this jam slice too mutch flower taist of the pantry it had a taist of being defrosted really nice shop and farm though only small things to make them things taisty

Had a lush breakfast here at a fantastic price. Queues when we arrived - but that says it all, well worth the (not very long) wait. Delicious black pudding!

Tucked away down a windy road, there is a carpark around the back which is not obviously signposted. However the quality of the food we had for breakfaat was good, wholesome and a nice family atmosphere. The added bonus is the farm shop which sells many local wholesome produce. Well worth a visit.

We visited on Saturday 1st February, at 12.10pm. This was a little later than usual, but we had left another eatery,as they had stopped serving breakfast at 11.30am. Unfortunately, we had to queue for about 15 minutes, in fact we only just got inside the door when we first arrived. A table came available in the extension part of the cafe and my friend was able to choose the items that she wanted for breakfast. I choose a BLT, which came with salad and coleslaw. The bacon tasted very good. No wonder Bolster Moor Coffee shop is so popular.

Lovely looking coffee shop however it took 15 minutes for us to be seen to be seated and then another 5/10 minutes for them to actually seat us. Food or presentation doesn’t justify the prices. I think it’s way too over priced for what you actually get. £5.95 for a hot beef sandwich and thats just on its own no salad or chips or anything. Just short of £7 for a large breakfast which doesn’t include a drink and my sausages were not even the same size and drowned in beans and tomatoes prices could be over looked if it was full table service but it’s order and pay at the till, get your own cutlery and sauces- which come in what i only know as McDonald’s sauce pots Would not be going again anytime soon.

Twelve of the family went for breakfast.fabulous food and drinks, then into the farm shop for some more delights. Love it hear.

We visited on Saturday lunch time with friends. We had to wait about 30mins for a table. However we were presented with a clean prepared table. The menu is very good and there is a special board, so a good choice. The drinks and food was delivered to our table. Excellent food and well presented.

Currently waiting to place our order at the till. We waited to be seated as we expect but have now queued for30 minutes to place our order. There are plenty of staff both out front and in the kitchen but they seem unwilling or unable to take orders in an efficient manner.

Brilliant local cafe and shop. The staff in both the shop and cafe are very helpful. The food is delicious and always presented well.

Enjoyed the all day breakfast today at Bolster Moor cafe, we opted for the small one which also comes with toast and marmalade. There was a queue when we arrived but it goes down quickly and we didn’t have to wait long. You are shown to a table then go up to order at the counter. The service was really quick and food was nicely presented and hot, delicious and not greasy at all. All the food here is good hearty fare and reasonably priced. Great farm shop with a fantastic butchers to have a look round as well.

It's a little off the beaten track but worth the effort. The quality of the food, service, prices and views cannot be beaten! Just go!

Sunday morning trip to the famous Bolster Moor cafe and shop.

Had to wait a little while for a table but who cares! Well worth the wait! Had a hot turkey & stuffing sandwich with gravy absolutely gorgeous! After that Yorkshire Curd tart best there is! Lovely clean cafe, great service! Can’t wait to return!

We came for a family meal, 6 of us. We stood at the 'please wait to be seated' sign for 10 minutes before being acknowledged, only to be given an extremely terse and rude reply from the member of staff came to see us. She shook her head and told us to sit inside the canteen, where we waited for another 10 minutes before deciding we didn't want to put up with the ignorance of the people that worked here anymore and left.

A well presented cafe with glorious views, good food, pleasant staff, reasonable prices. Very busy from 12 onwards over the lunchtime period but worth the wait

There are a lot of semi-negative old reviews here so here is a 2019 update: the dining area has been expanded significantly in the last year or so; it does get busy at peak times often with a queue but the staff manage the queue as promptly as possible and generally the wait isn't too long; coffee and food is really good quality, well prepared and quickly too - haven't had to wait too long from ordering to food on the table, even with a table of 6 and at peak breakfast hours (10-11am). Great local business, I look forward to the next time I go.

Been to the farm shop cafe a few times in the past couple of years and the food is always tasty,it is always made using quality ingredients and it is always cooked very well. HOWEVER... the poor and unfriendly service from the waiting staff really lets the cafe down, with items often missing from the order/incorrectly served. We ordered 3 breakfasts and teas/ bottles of juice. When the food arrived at the table 1 breakfast had incorrect items, the 2 bottles of juice were not present and we were given incorrect toast. After politely requesting these missing/incorrect items we were approached by a senior member of the waiting staff who discussed the matter with us really quite rudely, did not apologise for the inconvenience of the missing/incorrect items and told us we would need to pay for the alternative toast (although we thought that we already had paid at the till). Such a shame as the cafe and the food is lovely!

We love afternoon tea but we really love when afternoon tea has a twist! The Halloween one was delicious and so well themed. The savouries were definitely our favourite part with the Bolster Cheeseburger Slider (topped with cripsy onion straws!), Pumpkin Soup, Spicy Chicken and Sour Cream Tacos (reminded us of their delicious homemade curries), Prawn Marie Rose, Cheese and Bacon Potato Skins and our all-time favourite Bolster pie Goats Cheese, Red Pepper and Sweet Chilli Pork Pie. The sweets were so Halloween with a Frankenstein Rice Crispy, Mini Toffee Apples, Skeleton Gingerbread and our favourite treat Profiterole Eyeball (packed with lots of homemade chocolate, cream and jam)
