BOHNS Best Burgers in Nottingham

Bohns burgers is a hidden away down some stairs, across from lord Roberts pub. We had a nice time there. It was just me and my wife grabbing food after a trip to the hospital and waiting for a film to start. The staff were all lovely. The food was great and maybe the best burger I've had in a long time. As a veggie the selection was brilliant. My only gripe is the price. Spending quite a bit on a burger and then realising you have to get the fries separately. For that price in a highly competitive market such as Nottingham city centre it's something to maybe reconsider. Saying that we will probably go again at some point.

I'd heard fantastic things about Bohns and after our first visit tonight I can see why. We had four different burgers and 4 different fries, two different wings and camembert bites and everything was excellent, the burgers are fantastic here. We'd love it if there was the possibility of making bookings but it wouldn't stop us from going again or recommending here to anyone. Fantastic meal, great staff and really nice atmosphere. Will most definitely be returning again

Amazing restaurant! Vibes are perfect, staff is super friendly and food is spectacular. I had the Oaklahoma burger and dirty fries, loved both. After eating the chorizo in the dirty fries though, I'm definitely left wondering whether I'd have enjoyed the Torero burger more. The only thing I can gripe about is that the patties were ever so slightly more done than I might've liked them, but I also didn't specify that I like them more on the rare side so I can't exactly fault them for that. 5* from me.

Great experience. Food was delicious, full of flavours and met expectations from reviews seen. Staff all attentive and friendly. We had burgers, buffalo bites, coleslaw and dirty fries, 2 beers and 2GT’s so £35 each👍🏼

I have been here a few times and every time the food literally blows me away. The burgers are so juicy and delicious. The Camembert bites with the chilli jam are literally TO DIE FOR!!! 100000/10. If you come here make sure you definitely order those!. The cocktails were stunning! Very fresh and fruity.

I have been several times to Bohns, but tonight the service was beyond shocking. It took 25 minutes to be acknowledged to be asked for a drink, it then took ages, the food tookl forever and I will never visit again. Such poor service from start to finish

Have visited a few times and the food is exceptional. The burgers are high quality and taste fantastic, the variety offered appeals to many different palates. Both chicken and beef burgers have proven to be exceptional. The options for fries are quite vast and there is also options for other chicken sides. One particular thing of note I love is the sauce menu, many options and quite cheap. The food here is well worth the price and the service is always polite and happy to help

Only take bookings for tables of 5+. I recommend always booking a table for 5 and tell them your other people didn't show after being seated. Experience, attempted to make a booking for 3, got told that's not possible and it will be fine, theres plenty of space... restaurant was full and open to bookings only... management/ownership decision

Great burgers and few choices taste great and great price

Tried to book a table, girl on the phone said i couldnt book. Was just a case of turning up. This was fine. When i turned up she said pick a table without a reserved card on it or check the times on the cards, so it seems you can book afterall, all the tables had reserved cards on so we had to go elsewhere, complete waste of time. Travelled 35 miles for nothing. Wont bother again.

I’m not a fan of burgers in general, but this one was just a whole different experience. The fires were one of the best I’ve had

Best burgers in Notts, possibly UK..? —perfectly cooked and packed with flavour! The chips were great too, crispy and well-seasoned. Service was friendly and efficient, and the drink selection had plenty of good options. I also appreciated the good variety of vegan and vegetarian choices, which is great to see. The prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the decor gives the place a really nice atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to have a bigger sign outside so more people can find this hidden gem. Highly recommend!

We couldn’t book for two people but the staff are honest about the possible wait when you arrive. We had a drink at the bar and were seated after half an hour. We had a bit of a wait for our food (again staff prepared us for this and they are working hard it’s more about kitchen capacity I think) but my word - the meal was worth the wait. The burgers were truly excellent and the fries and coleslaw equally delicious. One of the best burger meals I have ever enjoyed. My husband felt the same. They had a good range of vegetarian and vegan burgers too. Will definitely be returning.

The food was nice but a bit overpriced for what it is. I did really enjoy the dirty fries. The service was good although we did wait 50 minutes for the food to arrive.

Did not quite live up to expectations. The burger, the bun, the toppings, none of them really tasted of anything... Service was rushed during saturday late lunchtime - they were all very busy but not turning anyone away, at one point there were 4 groups of people waiting for a table all crowding by the bar area, eagerly waiting for people to finish their food and pay. Very unpleasant experience.

Went on a Saturday night. had looked online to book but could see it was walk ins only unless in a large group which was fine. Restaurant was busy but got a table for two straight away. Service was a little slow to take food and drink orders but it was busy and only about 4 staff working so not blaming them for that but maybe something for management to look at. Burger tasted great one of the best burgers in notts and a good sized menu with lots of options for veggies and vegans which was good. Would have liked some plain fries as an option on the menu but just personal preference overall good food and can see why it’s popular just a few wrinkles to iron out.

Disappointing. We arrived and didn’t have a booking but fortunately it wasn’t busy and we were given a table for two. Our food arrived but without cutlery. Our server pointed out there wasn’t any as pot wash hadn’t finished the wash l, and gave us wooden as a substitute. This alone wasn’t great. The food that arrived looked fantastic but the burger was cold. I pointed this out to the server, who in turn spoke to the kitchen. We didn’t complain, just offered advice that they needed to check out other food wouldn’t come out cold. An apology would have been a good start or feedback from the kitchens, but we heard nothing further. We won’t be going back.

Tucked away downstairs, this is a great venue with a great range of burgers. I ordered 'The Blue' which was well cooked and packed with flavour. Sides were great, and good range of beers. Service could have been a little bit faster but nothing unacceptable. I absolutely will return to this place - very pleased with having tried it out and would highly recommend it.

We've never been to "Bohns best burgers" before. But we looked into it, and OMG.... Absolutely beautiful food ‼️ Highly recommended, definitely 10/10 .. Staff were welcoming , friendly, and great service. If I had one criticism, they don't do onion rings but nevermind. We will definitely return. Just don't mistake where it is... we entered the building thinking it was the place, but Bohns best burgers are downstairs 😉

Went to celebrate my friend’s birthday and it was incredible!!! The atmosphere was amazing - very well decorated and the playlist is great. The food is delicious and a really good portion too, we were all stuffed after eheh. Deffo recommend the kimchi ketchup, it’s insanely good. Really good veggie and vegan selection as well! Cherry on top was the service - Louis was super nice and funny, we had a lovely chat! Will definitely be coming back

Heard about this place online so thought I’d try it out. Oklahoma burger was great, but took about 30-40 mins to come out from the kitchen. BBQ wings (no pic taken) were brought out not longer after. Also finger licking good. Well worth the wait. Drink made to perfection. Evenly balanced. Service was a 10/10. Would highly recommend this place to any burger lover.

Looked after our party of 12 beautifully. Staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. All our drinks and food came in a timely manner. Absolutely everyone loved the food.

Fabulous cocktails - the Bananarama was soo good! Plenty of choice for meat eaters and veggies! Possibly the best veggie burger I’ve had. The jam jalapeño sauce was delicious. We’ll be back again soon.

Went here as veggies on a Friday evening, seated immediately and food arrived within 15 mins of ordering. The veggie blue is phenomenal!! I can safely call it the best veggie burger in Notts by far. The only thing it’s not better than is the owners Tripadvisor responses to negative reviews 😂😂

Best burger and chips I've had in a while. When ordered with fries/side, the price is a bit more expensive than other 'burger bars', but the quality makes it well worth the extra money. Can't fault the service - we were in and out within about 45 minutes.

We found it a little expensive for a burger and chips as you have to pay extra for your choice of chips. The choices were good, and the burgers were nice. Good vegan selection. The staff were very patient as we were at a large party. Funky place, just expensive for us. Still would recommend for a night out.

1hr10 min wait for a table and then 40 mins for food, no booking system unless you are 5 people or above and they won't move to a larger premises. Huge waste of your time for bad service.

Finally tried a burger in notts that doesn’t taste horrible and actually tastes pretty good. The waiters are really sweet and don’t keep you waiting. Would go again 👍

Went yesterday and was very impressed. Proper juicy smash burgers, the rosemary fries were delicious. The lemon pepper wings they had as a special were genuinely some of the best wings I’ve ever had. The service was great, very friendly staff. 10/10 would recommend.

Burgers taste great, bit on the expensive side £15 for just a burger alone when the patties are quite thin even if "double".

Went here with my adult son. Burgers really good, as were the house fries. Lots of veggie and vegan options too. Prompt and friendly service. Not cheap, but well worth it. Mistake with the bill rectified without any problem. If you're looking for a great burger this is the place to go

The most delicious burgers in Nottingham! My husband and I would highly recommend eating at Bohns, the food was superb. The portions are huge and the service from the staff is super friendly. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely visit again. We especially suggest the loaded fries, which were amazing.

Back again for another quality burger, back to the stake mate with bacon! With a side of bacon loaded fries! Back again.. had the Oklahoma this time. I preferred the Stake Mate but still very good Second time here and another great burger! I thoroughly enjoyed the Stake Mate burger. Rosemary fries also very tasty!

We visited last night Sat 10/8/24, it was super busy however staff were still super attentive and checking on us while we were waiting, very nice people also! Bohns burgers is absolutely the best burgers in Notts, 100% recommend ! Truffle fries were 10/10. We were made aware that there would be a wait on food, and we were so glad we waited, very much worth it and we will be back!

Went for my sibling's birthday after good reviews from family last year. There's two vegetarians in our party, who are well catered for at Bohn's - with plenty of vegan and veggie options, including sides. Food went down a treat and was very enjoyable! I appreciate the concise menu too. Cocktails were tasty and plenty of choice for other drinks as well. Some of the sauce on the burgers can be a bit overkill, but I'm sure if you ask for it on the side then the staff would be happy to accommodate. Overall, will deffo return. See you next year, undoubtedly!

This hidden gem is simply amazing the quality of the burgers is unreal and also the different types of fries you can have is great. the atmostphere, the staff everything was great, its pricey but you are paying for great quality food and its a good size so will defo be going again

The best burger I have ever eaten in a restaurant (the best burger 'full stop' was from Secret Burger Club, but this is a close second). Both the burger and the side of Dirty Fries were superb and the service was polite and efficient. Will definitely be back.

Probably the best burger place in Nottingham. But slow service and noisy when full. The waitress dropped a chip on the table while serving us, and she took it with her hands to put it back in the bowl.. quite unprofessional.

Vege burger was a glorified mcplant but still decent. One vege meal will set you back £22 so very pricey. One and done for me.

Just insane. You must try it. The burgers and sauces are insane. Not only this but the sides and fries that accompany the burger are unreal. The same lovely staff are always there and are so accommodating. Obsessed with this place.

The menu boasts an impressive amount of gourmet burgers and fries with plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians, though it lacks gluten-free choices—a huge disappointment as one of our party with Celiac disease had to settle for a bun-less rocket burger. The side dishes left us wanting, given their small portion sizes. If you order the chicken drumsticks, expect exactly four pieces, and note that fries are an additional purchase and definitely not for sharing. We tried the truffle fries, but found them lacking in truffle flavor. We visited on a Saturday, which was predictably crowded and noisy; a weekday visit might offer a calmer experience. Considering the price range of £12 to £15 for burgers—excluding fries—the value did not meet our expectations. On top of that, the service was below average. While the waitresses were friendly, they completely forgot one of our side dishes and inadvertently charged us for it, for us to ask them to remove it. The service also lacked coordination, as some dishes were served out of sync, arriving before other people’s dishes at the table.

Staff were very welcoming. The burgers were outstanding. Everyone chose a different one and wasn't sorry. The dirty fries were something special.

Went on a midweek night and there were plenty of seats. The food was really good.

We have been today and it was delicious. Just a warning though the truffle fries are enough for two people! They are very rich but extremely tasty. I had the peanut butter and chilli jam burger today and it was amazing.

The sauce/toppings were cold which was not very nice. The burger was warmer but was brought out first, then the server asked me if I wanted sauces (they give you a lot for free and a choice of any the kitchen produces which is great) and went to get them and the fries, which took another five minutes so the burger cooled down even more. Would be a good idea to ask about sauces at the same time as getting the order to avoid this. Brought out on individual cold plates - maybe heated plates would keep it warmer? Coleslaw was their own style, but it tasted weird/floral. I would rather have coleslaw that tastes like coleslaw but that is just my personal preference. You do get a lot which is great, would be good for sharing. Tea very nice but a bit expensive at £4.

Visited before the Darts at the Arena. Admittedly we thought we were going to Brewdog but coming to Bohns Burgers was a great wrong turning! Amazing burgers and fries and would definitely visit again next time I'm in Nottingham!

Unfortunately, when we got there for my sons 12th birthday 3/3/24 There were no walk-ins as they had a private event on 😮‍💨 nothing on website about it so had travelled 40 mins for nothing as you cannot book for less than 5 people and we were a 4 😮‍💨 disappointed child but ate elsewhere. We will return at some point.

With so many places to eat out in Notts why would you go to somewhere you've already been to before? Because it's bloody delicious. We can't resist this little treasure. The food is beautiful, the service is fab and they cater for groups seamlessly. 8 of us all got served at the same time and it was amazing...just like it always is. Thanks Bohns. Keep doing what you're doing. We love everything that you are about.

I genuinely mean this when I say it, me and my girlfriend both said it's the best burgers we've ever had. And we've travelled all around Europe and Scandinavia... But the burgers here are absolute next level! Theres also a massive selection for all types of diets here too. Meat eaters, Veggies and Vegans! Also the alcohol served here is great and they have a great selection of spirits. The service was brilliant and the food came out in a very reasonable time. The price was great, the cleanliness was spot on. All in all this place is an absolute must try for burgers because hopefully, you'll have the best burger of your life like we have had here 👍

the burgers are nice. staff fine. BUT £4.95 for alcohol free beer?? There is no tax on AFB so this is just profiteering? Extra cost for any mayonnaise or ketchup for fries? I understand extra cost for specialist sauces but would expect a bottle of t.sauce and mayo as a given? What next charge to borrow cutlery? Sadly, we are moving on having been long-term fans. If you've not tried, still go, our favourite is Rump Rub. Would be be nice if there were house fries without spicy "dust" on them? Just fries?

This place is busy and that is completely a result of the excellent burgers. Not the cheapest as fries and sides are extra but worth the money
