Brigitte Bordeaux in Nottingham

Feel lucky and grateful to have this on my doorstep. Experts in their graft (meant to say craft, point still stands). Went in yesterday with a budget and what we're having for dinner. Bit of umming and awing later I was handed a bottle which was a pleasure to drink and perfect company with the meal.

The best place in Nottingham, probably to East Midlands and maybe even England to have a glass of wine in the sunshine with very knowledgeable owners who are usually there which makes a big difference. Hundreds of wines available and delicious charcuterie and cheese. Love this spot!

What an absolutely lovely way to spend an afternoon/wake. Wake's are strange things but the delightful owners helped to make an otherwise down hearted post funeral gathering into a more family style get together. Thank you very much.

Wine list not bad. Cold, unfriendly attitude from the man serving us. Made us feel we were intruding on a private party. Couldn’t be bothered to explain the wines. Platter was a paltry amount, stale bread. Overpriced overall.

Great wine, great staff, great atmosphere, great food - this place has everything you need for a great evening! The idea of discovering a wine you love, and then being able to take a bottle (or more) home with you is wonderful and Kat and her team love and understand their wines so you'll always get something exciting and just what you need. In addition there are wine tasting events and special promotion weeks across the year e.g. who need there were so many amazing types of sherry until Sherry Week came along? The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and a trip here is always a true pleasure. There are organic, vegan, and sustainable wines and wines from right across the world available in the heart of Sherwood to suit all price ranges.

One of the best off licences in Nottingham, friendly, knowledgeable staff and fantastic wine you don’t find in the supermarket. A nice bottle is around £7-10 so a few pound more, but every bottles a winner.

i have visited on a couple of occasions now and both times have been brilliant, nost recently on a tasting evening which was fun and informative all while remaining covid safe which was done very well!

It was our first visit to this local gem & won’t be our last. We were made to feel so welcome during our recent visit here. The team were very knowledgeable & recommended some lovely wine. We were very fortunate to soak up the last of the September sunshine outside & sample one of their delicious sharing platters. We will be back.

This is a lovely wine bar in Sherwood. Beginning of October they have had a lovely offer on: you could taste 5 different wines for £10 and receive a discount of £5 on the bottle of your choice. The staff is lovely, friendly and professional. The tapenade is delicious (and from Delilah, a very nice café in Nottingham city center).

Lovely food and wine with a friendly and knowledgeable service. Dropped in to buy wine but sat for a cheese platter and two glasses. Decor is clean and modern but still nods authentically to the rustic French cave you'd expect to find in wine country. Nice

Great wines, expert knowledge, friendly service.

Popped in on Sunday as Matt was cleaning. He stopped everything to make us feel welcome and recommend some excellent wines, which were very much needed after France beat England at the rugby. Booked for valentines and looking forward to it.

A stand out destination in this area. Broad selection of wine bottles to buy and very good help from the staff in selecting. The interior layout is very good with a series of small and atmospheric rooms so you easily imagine yourself in a Paris Arr. Again a good selection of wines by the glass with helpful input aways available. They have charcuterie and cheese trays available. They will arrange events on site and provide canapes if required. Parking can be a problem but there is a car park a couple of hundred yards away. They also hold regular events e.g. New Year, wine tastings and music nights.

We visited here twice on the same night spending £115 in total as we bought an expensive bottle of wine as a gift. After a restaurant visit we dropped in as their website said they were open until 1am, it was 10.40. When we ordered a £26 bottle of fizz and a glass of port between 4 the owner said I’m closing at 11. I then questioned closing or last orders. He said last orders so closing around 11.30. We thought this would give the 4 of us time to drink our bottle so ordered it. From it arriving there was such an unpleasant atmosphere. He was cleaning, then the full lights went on and then he put his coat on as he wanted to “ go and drink gin with his brother in law” It was only 11.20 and we all had drinks left but were almost ushered out of the place. The owner needs to go on a customer services course and get some manners. We’re 4 customers who are local and won’t be going back.

My goodness. Can't even begin to describe how nice this is. Owners delightful, food superb and THEN THERE IS THE WINE. Just go.

We went to Brigitte Bordeaux for the Scicilian Wine tasting evening - and was not dissapointed! A wonderful selection of wines that normally I would not have the opportunity to sample, presented with great knowledge from the proprietor Cat. All served with a lovely board of meats and cheeses, a must!

A very warm greeting in a nice relaxing atmosphere. Kat is very passionate and knowledgeable about her wines and Matt is the perfect host.

This is a cute little place to go if you want to enjoy an early glass of wine or of you want to purchase some to take with you. The owners are very wine savvy and will help you pick what you'll end up enjoying. They also do wine tastings!

Love this place! Sells a selection of fine wines from around the globe, family run with extremely knowledgeable staff. Out back is a bar area where you can drink from the menu, or drink any bottle from the store with a corkage fee. The atmosphere is great, well decorated - you feel like you are in a little wine bar in the heart of the Loire! Whilst they do not serve full meals as such, they do serve a variety of wonderful cheese and antipasti boards - which completement the wine beautifully with the staff able to advise on the perfect pairings. Also, several times a month they hold special wine tasting evenings (booking essential) which are a wonderful way to learn more about the provinence and history of the wines on offer. A great addition to a much improving Sherwood high street!

Located on the main Mansfield Road, Sherwood, Nottingham. Limited parking outside but plenty of free parking nearby. Family run wine business and wine bar in evenings. Not your average plonk. But quality wines from around the world with experienced service and knowledge to help with your selections. Relaxed atmosphere to the place with no hard sell. Bar wines available, including ‘specials’ but you can also buy any bottle in store and drink in with corkage fee. If you like your wines, and are prepared to pay for that quality over supermarket plonk, then this is your place to go in the local area. Highly recommended.

A group of 8 had a private tasting event. Kat guided us through 7 wines in an entertaining and informative way. The wines were excellent and some of the grapes surprised us. The mid tasting food was ample and extremely good. Highly recommended for an enjoyable evening.
