But the real pièce de résistance of this disaster is the landlord, who somehow manages to be even ruder than his staff. Whether you’re a first-time visitor, a local, or simply someone with a shred of self-respect, avoid this trainwreck like the plague. Nottingham offers an abundance of refined, reputable establishments where patrons are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve. Save your time, money, and sanity—bypass this disaster and enjoy one of the city’s far superior options instead.

Great bar and a good choice of beer. The pub dog is a wonderful addition.

I’m not a regular at The Lord Roberts, but whenever I do pop in, I’m always made to feel incredibly welcome. This review couldn’t be further from the truth about such a wonderful establishment. The pub is warm, inviting, and has a fantastic atmosphere. The bar staff are professional and friendly, and there’s an excellent selection of drinks on offer. There is always something happening, from quiz nights to fabulous drag shows that draw a lively and welcoming crowd. You’ve truly made this pub a go-to venue for everyone. Don’t pay any attention to the bitter negativity, this place is a gem! With its brilliant combination of character, atmosphere, and entertainment, it is a place you will want to return to time and again.

The Lord Roberts is one of (if not the best public houses in Nottingham). The decor is 1920’s Artdeco that feels authentic and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and do everything to make you feel comfortable including remembering your name when you revisit. We’ll recommend - If you do visit, be sure to get a selfie outside where their lights are shining brightly or in their fabulously decorated beer garden! You might even get the chance to meet their namesake - Robert the dog!

A beautiful pub with a fantastic landlord and team , a huge variety of gin's which are my favourite but there's something for everyone. The decor of the pub & the new refurbished beer garden are a delight. All the staff are lovely and you can have great banter with them all. Love the DJ events they put on as the vibe is always banging.

Exellence at its upmost best! A must visit public house, open the door walk in and imediately your greated with an original art deco building, warm friendly welcome and service which is second to no others. Fantastic beer garden which is just off from the amazing furnished lounge area, not to mention the attention to detail the owners have strived to retain. Average prices for beers, wines & spirits, but it truly is the atmosfere and the awesome surroundings which ensures this is certainly a venue which stands out from the crowed!!!

Well guys what can I say ... From the moment you walk in that venue you are greated by the amazing staff and by the management. For me as a trans. Woman it's very important that I feel safe and protected and that my darlings I can reassure you that we are very safe. This venue is stylish , bright , clean and most of all welcoming of all no matter who or what you are . Food amazing , drinks price good compared to other places in Nottingham. I do recommend 100%

Amable, limpio y un buen ambiente. Bien dirigido y tiene una buena selección de bebidas! En realidad me encanta el vino de la casa y el ambiente chit chat que ofrece. El jardín va a morir para la primavera verano u otoño. Se lo recomendaría a los transeúntes y antes de la presentación en Broadway Cinema y The Arts Theatre. ¡Un gran concurso un miércoles!

When I do go into town this is a bar I always visit with my friends, we love it there! The atmosphere is great and the staff are always so friendly and amazing The newly refurbished beer garden looks lovely too! The prices are what you’d expect with any city centre location and working in the trade myself I know exactly how much brewery’s charge which is honestly ridiculous, not sure how they get away with it sometimes! The landlord Craig should be so proud! 😃

Love this pub, always welcoming, customers and staff always friendly, fabulous range of drinks, snacks. You can tell how much hard work has gone into making this pub so popular, great beer garden, fantastic room you can hire, lounge is decorated to match the theme of art deco, if you want to feel comfortable, and have a lovely time I’d recommend The Lord Robert’s 10/10

A great pub which has been passed from owner to owner over the years. Finally the LR is being run like a proper pub. Good atmosphere, good beers, also a decent beer garden / smoking area. Top notch!

We popped in for a drink why we were waiting for a table booked across the road, we initially went here as my younger daughter was with us who is 15 Y/O and at even 5.30pm on a Saturday no where would let us in with her for a drink. I will definitely go back as our other daughter is a Uni student so we are there all the time

Great pub with a fab atmosphere and feel to it, it helps by having some of the friendly staff in town. Also nice to be able to take the 4 legged friends in for a pint whilst they curl up and go to sleep.

I love this bar. It's cosy, immaculately kept with a great selection of drinks. The staff are fun and friendly and the quiz nights are legendary. I've met a lot of great people in this place and it's easy to strike up a conversation if you like to chat or just relax with a pint if you want some quiet time. Weekends are lively and fun with a good mix of people. All bars should be like this

The Lord Roberts is one of my favourite places in Nottingham. It’s a wonderful space to meet friends, to read on your own or go for ‘just the one.’ The bar staff are very friendly and drinks excellently priced. Can’t recommend it enough!!

Cracking little place that gets very busy. Nice outdoor area and clean and tidy. Staff are really friendly and the prices are good with a strong selecrion of drinks. Can order food to be delivered here when you get peckish. Accessible entrance from the street, though there is a step down to the beer garden (can access through rear gates if requested). Fresh in the warm weather, cosy in the winter. Highly recommended.

I live in Rotherham and travel every few weeks to see my friends. One of the bonuses is a nice drying in this cosy pub. If I don’t come to The Lord Roberts, I feel I’m missing out. Superb service in a nice environment with a central location and a refreshing pint of Amstel on tap. Love it

The place was buzzing during the Pride event when we visited. Despite being busy bar service was fast. There was a fantastic deejay blasting music and everyone was having a great time.

Every time I walk into this bar I’m greeted by lovely staff and a very welcoming vibe. Nothing is too much trouble, it’s clean and friendly. There’s a wide range of beers, wines and spirits. Never seen any trouble when we’ve been in. The beer garden on the back is absolutely lovely. Well done the lord roberts

Once again the female bar manager with long dark hair has made me feel unwelcome with her curt attitude and side eye. She really needs to go on a customer service skills course. In February when I last came here she made me and my group feel rushed at closing time by telling us to finish our drinks every 5 minutes and sighing. Tonight I've gone in at 10.10pm and she said the bar was closed. One of the other bar staff at the end of the bar mimicked "what you're not open?" and he started laughing at me. Really..is this the customer service the Lord Roberts strives for? RE: REPLY, IM SIRE SHE WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE IVE POSTED WHAT HAPPENED. IF YOU LOOK AT THE CAMERA FOOTAGE AGAIN I CAME IN WITH ANOTHER MALE, WENT TO THE BAR YOUNG FAIR HAIRED MALE STOOD FACING ME BEHIND THE BAR - HE SAID NOTHING BUT SHE WAS BEHIND THE BAR WITH HER BACK TO ME, AND THE GUY WHO CAME OUT WITH THE COMMENT (YOUNG FAIR CURLY HAIRED)WAS STOOD TO THE RIGHT OF ME WITH ANOTHER GUY AT THE END OF THE BAR. IM NOT LYING AND GOT NO REASON TO MAKE THIS UP. WHATS ANNOYING IS THAT STAFF CAN TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS AND ARENT HELD ACCOUNTABLE ONCE A COMPLIANT COMES IN. IM ONE PERSON, BUT AS A COMMUNITY WE GOT TO ASK WHY THE GAY SCENE IS IN DECLINE WHEN WE ARE TREATING OUR OWN WITH A POOR ATTITUDE.

Great little pub with a cracking venue downstairs (Prohibition). I come here for Mullraum which is a fantastic little esoteric techno night hidden away in the basement of this Hockley pub. Bar staff are also lovely and the smoking area is a good size. Drinks are very reasonably priced too. Recommend!

I have attended all the Deviant events so far and the second one that was hosted at Prohibition @ The Lord Roberts was incredible, it brought back the feelings of the great gay clubs I used to go to in Brighton years ago, fun and safe, no trouble just people enjoying themselves and feeling free to dance the night away, Martin was a sensational DJ and got everyone moving, Craig is a great landlord with vision and hope these events grow and continue to find a home at the Roberts. Can’t wait for the next event, highly recommended. 💕🪩

First time visiting and would definitely return. A lovely , very comfortable, good atmospheric pub......I could have stayed for the duration on their comfortable chairs, but was on a mission with the family to visit many more 😉. P.S. can't speculate on the food as it was just drinks.

Some of the staff very rude and judging customers for no reason one charged me £560 for a pint of Guinness a few weeks ago instead of five pounds the next pint it was five pounds the correct price when i pointed this out to her she said do you want your sixty pence back in a not to nice way, i said of course and put it in the charity box on the bar since then her attitude is disgusting no wonder the place is empty most of the time will never go in this place again.
