The boathouse is a busy place. The staff are friendly and helpfull. Food was great but a little bit expencive. The ribs are very nice.

Ordered the mixed grill and it was honestly the worst one I’ve ever had, which is mad for the price of it! The chicken was dry as a bone? The steak was so tough, the gammon was very bland and paper thin and the sausages came burnt. The chips tasted like a takeaway at the end of the night after they’ve been soaking in oil. My partner ordered the katsu curry. She said the chicken and curry was nice but the rice was not cooked enough so it was pretty hard and the salad that came with it was bland with no kind of any seasoning. Wouldn’t bother coming again, which is a shame because it looked a nice place!

Dogs not allowed in the bar. Heaters outside. It was a shame as it was cold so only had one beer. Probably nice in summer when it’s warmer

We are here several times during our weeks stay and the the food was lovely. My daughter loved the spaghetti Bolognese and the veg stir fry noodles were to die for.

Came here twice for dinner with family and enjoyed it .It wasn't overpriced and wasn't long after ordering to come to table would Defford eat here again

We were staying on site (the park itself is lovely) and the kids wanted to some food so we went in. We visited on two occasions, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The kids had “pancakes” which consisted of two American style pancakes out of a packet, microwaved, spread with Nutella and half a strawberry, for £3.99. They were eaten and enjoyed, but the value and quality (from an adults perspective) was shocking. I had some toast, which judging by how soft and untoasted it was, could well have gone in the microwave too. Against my better judgement we returned on a different day for dinner (just for the kids). I don’t always like to judge somewhere on one visit, everywhere has off days. Spaghetti bolognese and a side of cheesy garlic bread. Now, it came out fast - worryingly fast. The garlic bread with cheese was fine. But the spaghetti was dry with very little bolognese and some pieces had gone solid where is had been microwaved. I understand it was a child’s portion, but it was tiny and £6.99 for that mess that mostly went in the bin is just crazy. Looking at the other food as it was coming out, well, it didn’t seem any better. Very low quality, produced as quickly as possible and certainly not cheap. It was clean and the staff were lovely though, it’s not their fault how the place is run. It may be an easy option as it’s on-site, but the majority of people only have drinks for a reason.

Nice clean relaxed place to eat with friendly staff. Harry was very good and helpful as was the girl behind the bar called Amelia. Very pleasant experience.

Ordered a "gourmet" chicken burger, which was overcooked and just really poor quality, took about 3 bites of this, was charged £14. Pretty unhappy with the experience and about being lied to, why are you advertising gourmet burgers if they are nowhere near that standard? Was on table 133. Overpriced and poor quality, would recommend a standard hungry horse pub over this place.

Visited here while on holiday at the park a few times and enjoyed each meal . Okay it’s not posh nosh but it’s nice especially the breakfast which midweek is good value. Meals are a little expensive for what you get but the quality is good. Place is clean and the staff where polite and welcoming and the facilities were good,lots of outdoor seating and inside seating and tvs on the walls etc. even entertainment some days. Enjoyed it.

Just got home today from a week at Cayton Bay. We had a brilliant week, lots of activities during the day and entertainment at night. Very fun family holiday. I would certainly come back again. All the staff were friendly too.

Subject says it all...eat elsewhere if you can...although a bit difficult if staying at the caravan park and don't want to drive

Often a busy onsite restaurant bar that sells pretty decent grub! We ate here twice during our stay and was going to stay for breakfast too until we left a day early (weather related!) The bar was clean and service was relatively quick, Megan in particular was helpful and courteous, and was apologetic for our wait at the bar - explaining that the table ordering service (very useful by the way!) takes priority over people coming to the bar. The fish and chips in particular were delicious, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their chicken nuggets and to be honest it wasn’t much pricier than going out for a pub meal in your local area!

our daughter and her hubby and 2 sons was staying on the site and we joined her and her family plus my other daughter hubby and 4 year old grandson on Saturday 24th July 2021. Was very busy but we managed to get seated together thanks to a member of staff who was very helpful. Great menu with lots of choice and quite good prices. Food was good and good portions too. Would def go again

We spent a week at cayton bay and went to the boathouse every morning for breakfast which was really nice and good value for money compliments to the chef as this was the best year yet when it come to food at the boathouse

The staff were friendly and explained their order to the table app. I liked the app even though it can be a bit slow. We ate here quite a few times during our stay and as a family, we weren't disappointed. The food is a good size and as a person with a smaller appetite, it did look like I didn't enjoy it which couldn't be further from the truth I just could finish it.

Went here with my husband and was served by Ben, he was polite and really helpful, he went that extra mile to help our needs. I would definitely recommend the steak.

We went to this restaurant on our first evening and had a very nice wholesome meal at a very reasonable price. The kids menu was ample with plenty of choice and the adult portions were huge! Very good value for money

Delicious carvery with great choice of fresh veg, breakfast needs a bit more care though, the pancakes were dry. Good value, quick service even in busy times, excellent staff who kept it clean and tidy. Would reccommend.

We stayed at dean park Cayton Bay for 5 days we had a fantastic time the boathouse food and drinks are very good value and quality the staff are friendly and all areas are very clean we will definitely be going again

Visited here as a family a few times over Easter hols.Had a great gammon meal.Unfortunatly despite ordering five meals at the same time and asking if they could be served together they could not manage it.First two meals came out a good 45 minutes after ordering.The third meal came out a good 18 minutes after the first.The fourth meal after another 14 minutes and after asking at the counter twice.Then believe it or not the fourth a single portion of chips came out last after another two trips to complain at the counter.Three out of the five meals served were incomplete and we had to ask again and again.The place was nearly empty so what happens when its full?.The place was clean but staff stood around talking whilst dirty pots needed clearing off tables.

Well what can I say the difference this year on the food and the new menu is first classI have tried many dishes now from breakfast to desserts and all were luscious definitely worth visiting while at cayton bay staff are lovely food is excellent and value for money.

Food was delicious. Kids meals were nice too. It is expensive though - but you expect the pub in the resort to be expensive. Service was good. Soft play is good. Much better since it has been refurbished.

We thought we would grab some dinner here whilst waiting for the swimming pool to open. £22 later for two sandwiches and a drink we were very disappointed. The fish in the fish finger wrap/sandwich was grey and very small for the price. We got a two course meal with drinks for only £6 more further up the road at The Plough so would recommend the two minute drive up the road for better quality food and around the same price for a bite to eat at lunchtime.

The food in this place was bland and expensive. The staff work hard but seem to get no input from management.. There are better places to eat off site.

This has to be one of the worst lunch sandwiches I have ever had the misfortune to eat. The menu described the fish finger club sandwich as whole cod fish fingers served on toasted White or multi grain bread. What arrived couldn't have been more different if they tried. Four battered fish fingers that definitely weren't cod as the fish inside was a processed grey flesh. The bread wasn't toasted, just 2 pieces of sliced bread from a loaf accompanied by finger prints in the bread!!

We visited here today with my parents for lunch after coming to look at a caravan. The food is lovely slightly more expensive then your usual pub food but presented nicely and delicious. Kids meals are great value and the soft play room adjoins is great for keeping the younger ones occupied while you wait for food. They have a nice outside seating area which is gorgeous when the sun is shining. The pub is always busy as it's on the campsite but has a nice welcoming atmosphere.
