Beautiful rural pub setting, I had the Hot Dog for mains and a man and cheese starter, both were great. I would 100 percent recommend to one and all. Staff were polite and attentive throughout.

Love this place. Brilliant staff and great atmosphere. Good food and accommodation. A nice place to bring the family. 5 stars from me!

Great little pub, busy when we got there but some of the nice folk in there squeezed us on to their table. Ordered food & was surprised how quickly the food came out considering how many people were eating there. Friendly staff who seemed to know everyone & friendly atmosphere. Will be back for sure. We had an exceptional festive meal at Boat and Railway Pub in Stoke Prior with business colleagues and fiends. The festive menu was a fab, offering a perfect balance of flavours and festive cheer. From starters to desserts, each dish was spot on. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pub's selection of beverages complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, a fantastic place for a celebration or any occasion. Highly recommend Boat and Railway Pub for a delicious and memorable festive dining experience. Five stars!!!

We have had lunch here twice last week, both occasions the food was superb. I made slight changes to the menu on my orders but the cheerful Bar manager was happy to accommodate. Lovely local pub and I would 💯 recommend

We regularly book the small function room here for meetings. Carry and Coop do a fantastic job at looking after us and the service is always top notch

We ate here as a family at the end of our canal break. The owner was really friendly, there was lots of choice on the menu and the prices were great too. There's also a lovely open-air terrace that looks out onto the canal, and it's got a roof for when it rains! Highly recommended.

Have been on a canal holiday with my family 9 adults in total. Turned up after a difficult day, and the staff could not be more accommodating and welcoming. Our arrival was late for a Wednesday night but the chef kept the kitchen open. All meals were delivered to the table together, piping hot, and plentiful in size. For one lady to smash out our dinner was amazing. The bar staff were equally as helpful and friendly. I would ignore previous 1star reviews as I feel some people have unrealistic expectations

It seems that over the years the service in this place has fallen to rock bottom. 16:30 on a sunny Sunday afternoon and they can’t serve food because 7 other people are. Not 7 tables, 7 people. No apology, no attempt to improve anything.

As canal boaters we moored close by and were made most welcome by the new hosts of this pub. We had lunch there twice and enjoyed both visits. Would be ideal on a sunny day as it has a large terrace overlooking the canal.

Regarding the previous postFirstly Ron came to look at the room. I suggested he use our other room downstairs (which has the disabled loo) but he was insistent that due to the HUGE numbers of people attending he wanted the upstairs room, we do not use the function room as it needs a refurb. I was also asked to stock a large amount of Newcastle Brown, Budweiser and Jack Daniels, which i am now stuck with! It was far easier to sneak their own alcohol in, in carrier bags!A small number of around 50 people arrived, a HUGE number!NO ONE asked for their money back, they took it upon themselves to leave without paying and without my knowledge.The whole fiasco was more trouble than it was worth and these people are not welcome in the pub again We pride ourselves on our standards, the quality of our food and our friendly service

We were towards the end of our canal-boat holiday and stopped here for dinner. The landlady was both busily working bar and waiting on tables but she did not keep us waiting. The drinks were attractively priced and the menu was enough to cater for most tastes. The food was certainly plentiful and very good; again we did not have to wait long. It would certainly be somewhere I would visit again. Very good, you should go there.

This is a grand old pub we visited a few weeks ago under new management. The ales are in excellent condition and we wish them well. Guide books suggest there was a skittle alley here in former times, it would be great to see this revived, but next time we will treat ourselves to dine on the lovely canal-side terrace, hopefully after a few rounds of skittles! Visited this canalside pub on recent narrowboat holiday. Nice welcoming atmosphere, good menu of reasonably priced home cooked food. Families welcome and clearly well supported by the locals. Would visit again.

I have been a regular of this pub for many years, no longer!It's changed hands recently and I have given the new management a fair chance but the service is slow and rude.My family along with friends visited for food and it was burned and inedible - when it finally arrived that is. We waited over an hour for the food despite the pub being relatively un-busy.Like the previous reviewer, we had to change our order several times as many of the menu was unavailable. Then in the end left with a very hungry small child only to have to make alternative arrangements for our meal.Go to the nearby places instead like the navigation, queens head or the bowling green.

La ubicación es genial, justo en el canal. Sin embargo, es un pub "locales". Idioma de la clientela industrial, un menú limitado que no va más allá del profundo friendo, y no una cultura de mantener las cosas limpias y ordenadas. Attending a Vintage Transport Rally at the nearby Sports Club l visited this establishment for evening meal, the Gammon meal was excellent value for money served by very pleasent staff with whom I enjoyed a brief humourous chat about dining alone an a Saturday evening being Billy no Mates, nice atmosphere and would visit again if in the area.

We visited this Inn after mooring our narrow boat alongside the Inn on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal.It was Friday night - disco and Karaoke night.The place was buzzing and the staff very friendly and welcoming.We didn't use the restaurant as we had already eaten, but partook of the good real ales and had a very enjoyable bottle of Rioja wine.Having enquired about local shops so that we could replenish our stocks on board the boat, we were told that the local store had closed and that we were in the middle of nowhere!Amy and Dan very kindly gave us some milk and a lighter for our gas cooker.We had a very enjoyable evening dancing the night away. Excellent little pub right on the canal. Staff very friendly and food was good. Sort of place you enter as a stranger but leave as a friend. Seating right along the canal side so great on a warm summers night for drinks and a meal or just to have a drink and relax.

I visited the boat and railway yesterday for a drink and a meal and I have to say the beautiful young lady behind the bar could not do enough to help me she made my visit incredibly pleasant I will definitely be dining there again to parks for bar staff and the chef as food was A1++++

Such a picturesque setting alongside the canal that carried so much of the Salt from the salt works which were brought by John Corbett in 1852. You can imagine the pub packed with workers of those salt works who stopped on their way home to slake their thirst.But it was not like that.A lady of disapproving expression defended the bar from all comers, so successful was she that no customers dared hang around inside treading on the carpet or sitting on chairs. Ok, we thought and walked through to the canal side terrace. All the tables looked lonely and beckoning but we took up two tables near a man with a dog. He was so pleased to see us, he leapt into conversation and his dog stared vacantly away. We chatted until I was sent to order a drink and some food. I passed through the silent bar, apologised for interrupting her phone call and took drinks and a menu. The man with the dog had gone....We settled for extravagance; "gammon, egg and chips all round" with tomato sauce as well. The service was prompt, the cuisine effective if oleaginous and served with the reverence it deserved. We counted the drowned drosophila in our two containers of brewed acetic acid and we saw a boat. What fun! After our luncheon we tried to cut away quietly but were caught in the open crossing the carpet. Offering our apologies to the stalwart defender of the bar, we slunk away promising audibly, with forced smiles, to see her again, although we felt her reply may not have been reciprocal...The Boat and Railway is quite close to Bromsgrove.
