What a hidden gem! I nipped into the farm shop for some bbq items. What a selection & really well priced. I cooked the kebabs & chicken last night, I can confirm they were meaty & fresh! The butcher’s were friendly & helpful - I will be returning! Then… the barn! Wow! The other reviews do not do this place justice. Yes - quiet & no music but what a place for the kids to run wild! The soft place is never ending, 2 slides, lots of different areas, nuts & crannies - it doesn’t end there. There was also 2 or 3 football pitches & go kart area along with a large open space with a cafe. There was an outside area with a little swing & slide set, however the gate was locked so we couldn’t get in, so maybe on our next visit we will try again. I have recommended this place to my girlfriends & I will be returning to both the barn & the farm shop.

Disgusting place don’t waste your time and money in the play barn. Everything is literally dirty never know anything like it. I would like to know how they trained the staff of food safety and hygiene because staff were not very well trained. One person had he’s pants halfway down showing his bum he tried to pull them up didn’t get far enough to cover it then went to bring food out (WASH YOUR HANDS) Disgusting. Put me off just seeing it. Stinks of old fat like it’s not been cleaned in years, flies are everywhere. I am sorry it’s not to take your child to. Definitely need food environment to the place needs a good amount of work and the staff to be trained to able to deliver high standards in food safety. I would be embarrassed. If it had some work done and big clean up it would be great place to come. I’m definitely not going back.

Expensive £5 for my 13 month old grandson hes barely walking and couldnt get to play on all the equipment. We noticed he had something in his mouth and went to retrieve it and was a smartie which he had picked up in the play area. You shouldnt have machines that contain smarties for under 5s near to the play area.Disgusted and very disappointed

Went to the play barn. Took staff 4 minutes of me ringing the bell to be greeted and let in. The play barn is huge and has great potential but it’s so poorly lit that my 2 year old was scared of exploring. Also quite poorly maintained, lots of the extra features are broken. No music playing and only 2 other guests in the whole place. Like playing on a morgue. Let some lights, some maintenance and some music!!

Firstly went in for a look around the farm shop, bought some bits. The younger man serving was really helpful, and an older gentleman behind the meat counter was really friendly. I then took my child into the play barn. It's really big, but unfortunately also really mucky! This place could be amazing if kept clean and freshened up abit. Cafe staff were lovely and the food was nice. Just a shame about the cleanliness of the play barn!

Attended the play gym today with my daughter 3 and son 1 and when my little girl went to go in the play gym through the open gate to pay upstairs was rudely nearly tripped up by a member of staff called Louise. She then carried on arguing with us because her father is the owner. She then said she was going to get the boss and instead of listening to what we had to say he Jsut agreed with his daughter. Never experienced people so rude and trying to trip children over is absolutely disgusting.

If you're after a good quality value for money breakfast (or other meal) Blue Hills delivers, but be aware this is a no frills working farm cafe and shop so leave any notion of style and decor aside. It's an honest 'what you see is what you get' type of place but the quality of meat and pies from the farm shop is outstanding, along with the rest of the produce. These places, like many others are struggling with the cost of utility bills and feed etc going through the roof so do what you can to support them so they can stay alive.

Recently visited Bluehills farm shop , it’s a quirky place, real working farm conditions, don’t expect it to be like selfridges inside because it isn’t!! but the food stuff on sale is good , the upstairs cafe is ok, we had the best sausage sandwich and cuppa . Even bought some of the sausages to bring home they were so nice,, lots of produce to chose from, freshly baked goods, a lovely hanging basket at just £7.50 , fresh fruit & veg at good prices. We also bought Pies and meat.. Toilets a little ‘rustic’ shall we say but it’s a farm not a shopping mall .. worth a visit. we would pop in again if passing.

We called in for breakfast and a play. The food was good and generous portions. It was let down by the surroundings which are dated and drab, the tea pot stuck to the table as it was tacky. The play area is very grubby and needs a clean. Prices seem to be made up as they go as there are advertising pictures showing one price for a breakfast but a different price on the menu. The play area on the website is a different price when you pay at the reception. In need of a spring clean and updating

I travel 20 plus miles to Blue Hills Farm shop for their sausages and bacon as I can't get any that good nearer to home. I run a bed and breakfast and my guests are always comenting on how good they taste. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work.

I phoned two days prior to visiting and the lady on the phone said we have a great farm with emus, chickens, cows, rabbits and a whole host off animals. We got their as a family and all that was there was were two half starved emus asleep and animal houses empty. The farm shop was good and the play barn was good. I was just very saddenned by they said on the phone they had lots of animal as my Grandson wanted to see them. When there was no animals he cried for half hour. I questioned them about it and they said they havent advertised having animals for two years. The lady on the phone was obviously lying when I phoned just to drag me into the farm for custom. Sad thing is it cost me 30 quid each way from leeds in a taxi for the trip. Its a very sad day out and they false advertise.

After seeing the photos online of the Hayloft Cafe. I was looking forward to my grandson enjoying the play barn whilst my wife and I had a coffee and relax in the cafe. The photos are obviously there to entice you in. The cafeteria as it is now labelled looks nothing like the photos. It is now a big room catering for the masses. I am not a prude but I would have thought twice about coming knowing what it looks like now. It is a mass catering room geared solely for families. If you are looking for something a bit more secluded and relaxing then I am afraid you will have to look elsewhere.

This is an amazing big play barn that has something for all ages. However the track and trace sign in book is left open on the Unmanned desk with all names and tel Numbers on show, there is no sessions so no closing to clean the equipment and no table service, no 6 per table rule with mixing several households as instructed by the new government rules in the fight to chain breaker the virus. There is hand sanitizer available and signs up about social distancing but non of the new rules put in place as of yet. This is a shame as it is a really good place and we will return once this pesky virus 🦠 does one so places can return to normal as it appears.

Decided to read the reviews before visiting today Saturday 17th august. Some negative reviews and dont know why people are complaining because my grandkids and myself loved it! Yer it was a bit messy up in the cafe but no big deal as there was a lot of kids running wild and enjoying themselves while the parents sat back and relaxed. It was very chilled and we all loved it and the food was great! Very reasonable portion sizes especially for the kids and for £2.50 dont know how anybody can complain and my grandkids thoroughly enjoyed their meals. If people's going to complain about a few messy tables then they need to go somewhere more less relaxed and let people moan at their kids running wild! Ya cant gave it all.. play area was fab and plenty space fir them to run wild even the little quads. Brilliant and better than any play gym i've been to. Would definitely recommend this place we had a great day 😊 10/10

Went today with my Mum to have breakfast/lunch before we did our shopping. We arrived just after 11am. Mum wanted a breakfast, I fancied one of the 'light bites' which are mainly panini's (which I like) I went to the counter to ask if the 'light bites' were being served at this time. Yes indeed they were, they are served all day. Excellent. So I ordered the tuna, cheese and spring onion panini but the lady said they weren't serving paninis as they had no panini rolls. No problem, so I asked if I could order from the 'lunch menu'. The lady then suddenly announced that no food would be served for 30 minutes as the chef had just left the kitchen to have his lunch! Really? I half thought she was joking but she then kind of ran off into the back. Went to get Mum who'd found us a nice table to tell her lunch was off as the chef was having his 😀 Did our shopping, was interesting to find packs of panini rolls in the bread section 🙄.

Great food, great service. Chicken kebab was fab, loads of chicken in it. Chips, again there were loads and they were delicious.

Nice pint well kept beer a shame about the thuggish mouth breather who couldn't handle his drink there's always one.

Not too bad, food was ok and the place was clean, although service could be better. Maybe a little refresher on customer service?
