First time I stopped here for a coffee, I'll definitely be stopping again. They serve good coffee, and friendly as well.

Lovely place to have lunch or coffee, very comfy seating and plenty of space. Hot drinks were marvellous, service super fast, croque monsieur was a bit lacking in ham, but sauce was delicious. Would visit again.

Never been to Andover before so found this place by chance. I had decaf black coffee and was asked what strength! I've never been asked that before so was great to be given the option. The three different meals we ordered were all excellent and large portions. My daughter is moving to the town so will definitely be visiting Blue Onion again.

We have come here every Tuesday for the last few months and every time we come we receive great food and service! Staff are always friendly and helpful, Blue Onion gives a real community feeling l!

Not very good. The breakfast wasn't enjoyable at all. Poach eggs hard! Salmon was fatty, as was the bacon. Not very friendly either. Way over priced for the breakfast we got. Disappointed.

Dreadful, Never again. My first & last visit to The Blue Onion Andover. We were of colleagues for a breakfast meeting. It took half hour before we all eventually had our breakfast served, by the time the last person had his the first person had finished. Mine in particular was cold, un appealing & tasteless. I definitely won’t be back. Not recommended

Had a good lunch here and really enjoyed it. The food is good and portion sizes excellent. There is plenty of choice and it’s really good value. Service was efficient.

Several ppl recommended this place (but warned me not to get the saussages) reviews appear positive. I was really looking forward to treating myself to a brunch. Ordered eggs...

Lovely welcoming and helpful staff. Quick service seeing it was quite busy. Well worth a visit. We had eggs Benedict royal and a 7 piece breakfast. Both presented lovely, hot and fresh. For the price very good. Not sure I’d have managed the 9 piece breakfast.

This is my favourite place in Andover to visit with the best coffee and friendliest staff! I have been coming here for years. The staff are helpful, kind and make an effort to chat to you. The coffee is gorgeous and the ambience is ideal to spend a few hours in. Would recommend to everyone, you won't be disappointed =)

Been to Blue Onion a lot lovely cheese ham & mushroom toasty great coffee friendly service. Track and trace plenty of hand sanitizer about distancing between tables adherred to. My favourite cafe keep up the excellent work and service. Will visit after lockdown.

Very lovely independent coffee shop, reasonable priced drinks and tasty food. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Felt very safe with COVID measures and reduced tables. Highly recommend

Fresh, tasty, piping hot breakie! 7 item menu choice pictured, the Cumberland sausages are huge! Everything was well cooked and no grease in sight. Polished off with a damn fine cappuccino.

Had a short break with family and was a great find for breakfast . Pancakes were great and so were the breakfasts for the kids and I spoilt my self to eggs benedict both mornings which was lovely . Coffee was nice and strong and have all flavour syrups if wanted . Thank you for 2 great start to the days 👍🏻

Waiting whilst my son took his driving theory just down the high street I had a couple of lovely drinks in this busy little independent coffee house. You have to pass all of the usual high street chains to find it, but it's worth it. Tasty coffee made to your liking with happy friendly staff. As I sat and watched the world go by they also had a great music selection playing discretely. Sipping great coffee on the street, people-watching with a subtle background of Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild? An unexpected treat.

Passing through Andover all the way from Birmingham and would deffo recommend, food was amazing , staff were even nicer! Great place

A great place with the personal touch. I popped in on my way to work and had the scrambled eggs on toast. Everything was freshly prepared and well presented. The staff are very friendly too so it’s well worth a visit when your in the area.

Lovely casual cafe. We swung by just for coffee and a slice of cake, but this busy town centre cafe / bistro was a good find, and they have a nice varied menu fir all sorts of light meals. Really nice atmosphere, background music, Wi Fi and outside and inside seating. We will certainly be going back.

My son and daughter and I love this relaxed and cosmopolitan cafe with great coffee before we head upstairs for guitar lessons (which are great for all ages and abilities!!!). Stringbrokers Music is owned and run by Kevin and Rob - both very worldly, qualified and enigmatic professional musicians and their equally brilliant musical trove. These are clever guys, cool musicians who offer great service and musicianship and all access to musicality in Andover and surrounds - a hidden gem - so go grab a great coffee head upstairs and enjoy the musical discovery

Food quite good . There was certainly a language problem as our waitress did not appear to speak or understand any English and could not deal with problems that occurred on our table and the next table to us

Small seating area outside but huge inside with cosy seating areas. Decor of furniture is a mix arrange of well balanced fabric coverings on seats.Wall art is VERY good. A pleasure to the eye to look at. Service was friendly and quick. Latte and coffee were good sizes nice and hot with good flavour. Table next to us ordered cakes and both were served up a good size slice and they did look tempting. Everywhere you looked was clean and tidy and we didn't go in till after 4pm. Worth a break from shopping.

All the food arrived quickly and was amazing quality. Hubby loved his sandwich and my breakfast all arrived piping hot. Paid less than £18 for both meals and drinks. Will be returning. Really cosy restaurant too loved it worth every penny

We found the food on the cheap side nothing special, but the hot chocolate was lovely. Not somewhere I would choice to eat at again but defiantly would recommend it for somewhere to go for a nice coffee or a hot chocolate.

Friendly welcome to a large and fairly uninspiring cafe - just from its decor. However, there's an extensive cafe menu that is generous, well cooked and extremely good value.

Lovely coffee made just how you wan't it. Super sandwiches at very good prices. We go there regularly for coffee or lunch.

A lovely stop with lovely and very friendly staff. Eager to help in friendly surroundings, that is clean and welcoming. The coffee is very good (flat white) and hot chocolates for my wife and daughter, a plain hot chocolate and one with everything on it! Don't have the hot chocolate with everything on it, if you're on a diet (!!?) You'll lose hahahaha, very nice though.

Great for all ages good selection of food and drinks. Great helpful staff and a loyalty card system.

We visit from time to time with the whole family, and it's consistently been very nice. Their breakfast is perhaps one of the best in Andover, and there is a corner for children to play.

Called in for lunch with my son. The coffee was really good and the food was delicious but the best thing about our visit was the lovely friendly staff. We liked the decor as well!

blue onion always serves great coffee, and everyone who works there is super friendly. i've only had small bites to eat there but food was also great, with a much better selection than many of the chain coffee shops!

A great place to sit inside on a windy day in Andover, with a really good strong cup of coffee and maybe a large slice of cake. They will make the coffee not so strong if you prefer it that way. Drinks and cakes are counter service with pay at the counter.

I came in and ordered a choice of breakfast's ranging from 4 to 6 or 9 items from between £4 .95 - £8.95 . I chose hash brown , fried egg , sausage and a portabello mushroom which I'm sorry to say came in the form of a cup of Mazola when served . I think whoever was responsible for cooking should allow fried food to drain off a little first !

Recommended by a nearby hotel as they had finished their breakfast menu.Nice clean establishment and very polite and friendly staff.Poached eggs for myself and scrambled for my wife were perfectly made and presented and the coffee was good.Nice atmosphere and easy wheelchair access so we will return.P.S.Unusual wall decoration made entirely from wooden spoons.

Needs improvement Poached eggs should have a runny yolk ! Even after asking for it to be runny they still failed !! Coffee is average. Close but no cigar

Found this cafe by accident when on a rare visit to Andover. I found the service to be very friendly, polite and helpful and was actually asked how strong I'd like my coffee, which never happens in my experience generally. The food choice looked really...

Tomamos café y tarta en aquí en nuestro camino a vacaciones en Cornwall. Un lugar muy acogedor, el personal es excelente, muy servicial y amable, buen ambiente. Buen café y pasteles y también tenía una opción libre de gluten para tarta.

Metimos en la oportunidad aquí en el Día de la madre. El personal era amable y eficiente y servicial. Pedimos comida 2 comidas vegetarianas un desayuno durante todo el día y un Aberdeen Angus burger. . las porciones eran grandes y la comida era excelente. Las patatas fritas de camote era absolutamente precioso. De hecho todo la visita fue genial

Mi esposa y yo nos detuvimos para el desayuno y las comidas no vienen juntos, mi comida salió mucho después de la comida de mi esposa, cuando mi comida finalmente salió tenía pelo en y la comida de mi esposa estaba terminado, ya que sin duda habría sido fría si ella tenía que esperar por mi comida. He pagado el precio completo por ambas comidas teniendo en cuenta que no comer mi comida y no podía esperar para mi comida, cuando volví saliendo gerente acabaron después y dijo aquí es un cupón para un café? Como si alguien salir después de pagar un desayuno completo que no recibieron entonces conformarse con un café gratis? ¿Por qué no ofrecen el desayuno. Es mejor tomar el desayuno un terrible MCDONALD'S al menos obtendrá lo que paga sin pelo.

This is a nice coffee place with a fantastic food menu, nice and clean inside and very spacious.The thing that lets it down is the entrance - people huddle round outside across the entrance smoking and you have to walk through the cloud of smoke to get into the place.

A nice local independent café. I have had good customer service, the tables are cleared and clean and the open sandwich was nice if a little too much for lunchtime.I do however think the proprietor needs to look up how to make a flat white. My flat white ordered last Friday lunchtime was in fact a latte. I pointed this out and we had a short debate about the definition of a flat white. A flat white is an espresso style coffee with a hot steamed milk topping - without the froth characteristic of a cappuccino. It is not a milk based coffee served in a clear glass. I hope this helps!

Food basic, but generous serves. No GF available, despite GF crepes on offer on menu. Service very average. Coffee very poor.

Friendly service with good portion sizes and pleasant environment.Full menu of traditional favourites as well as children's menu. Busy establishment and well decorated, providing a modern yet warm feel once inside.

Went here for lunch with my daughter.. it has changed for the better with new management .. it has a great ambience and is very comfortable the coffee is to die for and the food is great. You have a good choice on the menu. Really enjoyed our lunch we only wanted a sandwich today but next time we are going to try one of their salads they look delicious..staff are friendly and helpful and the service is excellent.

Been going there for years but Blue Onion has stepped up several notches since refurbishment. Not just in the decoration or the food & drink options, but the feel of the place. Great for old and young, with friends or alone. Such a comfortable place to drink great coffee.

This is what a coffee shop should be like. Quirky, comfortable, good coffee and great atmosphere. Tea... not so great, but they were happy to have another go when I complained. And there's a great music shop on the 1st floor. And no, that doesn't seem weird.

What happened today. Hot chocolate lukewarm. Tables not cleared. Too many staff behind the counter & not on the floor. Usually good service but not today. .

The Blue Onion is a great place for food, we had a very good breakfast and the menu will tempt us back for other meals.There is a good choice of hot and cold drinks and both the them and the food is very reasonably priced Friendly, helpful staff completes a good packageWe shall be back

A wonderful place to eat, there is so much choice! Excellent tea, coffee and milkshakes. Take away or eat in as it has a chilled atmosphere. Brought lots of people here from outside Andover and they always want to come back and comment on how great it is.

I have walked passed the Blue Onion a few times, but have been put off by the number of smokers sat outside, but I am happy to admit that is my own snobbery and because of that I have been missing out on a brilliant cafe! Lunch was great, made to my fussy orders, coffee is strong but just how i like it. Such a great place to have in a town centre filled with chain cafes. Will definitely recommend and be back!!

Really lovely cafe. Just a shame we couldn't sit outside and enjoy the sun as too many smokers. Perhaps they could all sit on one side of the doorway and put up a trellis so us non smokers could enjoy watching the world go by as well.Other than that the inside is lovely

What a super job they have done of the refurbishment. Great menu, customer service and incredibly reasonably priced.

Well done all involved. A lovely varied menu and nice decor. Never ventured in before the refurb as it didn't look very inviting. I hope it inspires the rest of the eateries in town to try a little harder.

I always was a fan of Blue Onion for it's fabulous coffee and service, but since the refurb it has gone up a few notches. The refurb itself is funky and fabulous - gorgeous new seating, great new service area, retro coffee machines and exciting new menu....e.g: Eggs Benedict, or Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs for breakfast, a burger menu for lunch, baguettes, cakes, and gorgeous coffee. It has a fabulous little area at the back with colouring books and crayons etc for children. The service is fabulous, friendly and fast with Ben et all giving it their best.....Well done to all involved...x

Since reopening it has stepped up to another level. The food /lunch is delicious and value for money. The coffee is lovely. The environment is comfortable and relaxing. Definitely give it a go.

First time since refurb and what an awesome job they have done. Amazing menu especially the extensive breakfast menu including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The coffee is sublime as always. Cant wait to return and make my way through the menu!

The Blue Onion has recently re-opened following an extensive refurbishment. We visited today and it is lovely. The counter has been moved and the whole inside has been opened up to make much more room. It has been completely redecorated and looks great with it's colourful furniture. There are also guitars on the wall as Stringbrokers Music shop is upstairs. We had coffee, hot chocolate and 2 cakes, which were all good. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They have a lot more lunch options on the menu now. We shall definitely be returning.

Blue onion is a great independent coffee shop that has become even better since it's refurbishment. The atmosphere is great the variety light meals is great and everything is freshly prepared. Service is great and staff are friendly. The new decor is great creating more seating but maintaining a feeling of space.

What a fantastic place now. Not that it wasn't before but you know what I mean. It beats the socks off the competition now. Great refurb and great menu. I only hope they can cope at peak times having one coffee machine and a small kitchen with a huge menu. But not my problem as our food was great and service was quick even though we were here early. Worth going here to support the local trade

The Blue Onion Coffee Shop offers the best tasting coffee in Andover.It has a nice customer base and extremely pleasant staff who remember your drinks after a few visits!The decoration, tables and chairs are somewhat basic, but the shop is undergoing a facelift shortly.Hopefully the sandwiches and cake suppliers will also be reviewed, since I feel this side of the shop could be improved upon. The selection on offer is somewhat basic, but don't let this spoil the experience!

I have been a regular coffee drinker here since it opened many years ago.Great coffee made for you to your taste and desires.. friendly helpful staff...and good position outside to watch the world go by for a while !

Place to visit for your morning cafe/tea or afternoon tea/cafe, the decaff coffee was a bit strong but the staff were more than happy to give me extra hot water. The staff and service was very good I found.

Zipped in for a quick caffeine fix, had a chai latte which was nice, the cakes on display looked nice but watching my waistline lol x

Will always go to 'The Onion' rather than any of the other coffee shops in Andover. The best coffee and the best staff. Never seem to take as long to make the coffees as the other places.

I liked the idea of a different coffee place other than typical chains. But yesterday after trying for the second time I had the worst possible coffee ever. It tasted burned and I said the staff when they asked me that I wanted one shot only. It was so strong and I edible, I had to leave it on the table. Staff are unfriendly too.I wouldn't recommend it I prefer to go to any other in Andover town centre.

I am a real Costa Fan and travel a lot so use them all over the place but when I am in Andover I will always march past the Costa and into the Blue Onion. The coffee is great, the Panninis well stuffed, the staff are perfect and they have some really comfy chairs = happiness

Use to go there, wouldn't consider now as coffee average.. Lovely local staff and manager is an excellent guy to lead the team.

have no idea how to serve a decent coffee, owner is always curt and unfriendly. tables and seating always unclean. as is the toilets. very expensive.

Some of the nicest coffee I've ever had. Good & strong but never bitter and always hot. Always busy and a big regular clientele.They have their own loyalty card system too.If you've never visited this coffee house you are missing a trick.

I've been visiting the Blue Onion for a number of years, and can honestly say that the coffee served is some of the best I have had anywhere in the world.The coffee is strong and full of flavour and the staff are always courteous.

Stopped in for a cappuccino fix, and a very good one it was too ! The cake was also good - chocolate brownie - and a nice comfy chair to top it all off. what more could one ask for ?! Oh, and pretty reasonably priced too !
