I went to buy a handbag that was a bit over priced but decided it’s better to support a local business. However when I approached what I thought was a till there was a woman behind a counter with a mask at-counter that looked like a till. The woman said to me “this isn’t a till love” no oh sorry this isn’t a till - however you can pay over there. As a result I walked off and didn’t buy the bag. However in contrast the cafe was lovely and we had a very tasty eggs benadict and tea. The cafe staff are lovely and friendly we will definitely go back to the cafe but I not be using the shop again. Avoid the shop but use the cafe.

This garden centre has a good quality range of outdoor plants, well displayed as well as gardening accessories. It’s indoor range of home and gift ware has recently been considerably reduced to make way for a range of women’s clothes. Whilst it all appeared to be reasonable quality and competitively priced, this is a shame and not what I would visit a garden centre for. We stayed for lunch, which was table service rather than queueing at the counter. Track and trace forms were required to be filled out at the entrance to the restaurant although the member of staff in charge was not wearing a mask and was not socially distancing. We still had to go to the counter to pay which seemed to defeat the object. The menu was more limited than usual but food was well cooked and presented and service was quick and efficient.

very disappointed in the hygiene precautions. One waitress kept pulling her mask down under her chin when talking to customers. At times she touched her nose. Customers were not required to sanitise their hands on entry and payment had to be made at a till near the servery and not at tables.

I had a day off from work and decided to have a wander around as you do sometimes!! I picked up some bulbs and other items and decided to have a lovely coffee and a bite to eat. I decided on a lovely beetroot wrap filled with tuna and other goodies which melted in my mouth. It was freshly made and the side salad was very fresh too, not like some places I have been whereby the side salad at times looks as if it had given up the will to live!! A lovely experience all-round which I can highly recommend.

I’ve only been to this restaurant 3 times. The first time I ordered soup and a roll. 45 mins later it still hadn’t arrived even though the restaurant was fairly quiet, when it finally came, after a prompt from one of the assistants who noticed I was still waiting, there was no roll. The second time we waited almost 30 mins and it was a little busier. The third time the restaurant was very busy with two large parties, we ordered and were served within a few minutes. Seems the quieter they are the longer you wait! There was also a member of staff openly discussing her wages with the supervisor for all to hear while we were waiting to order! Food is average and I think a little overpriced for what it is. Restaurant has no atmosphere with no cosy corners for a private conversation.

13 of us booked with some other 30 people, lots of kids waiting to see Santa. The kids enjoyed themselves. The food was ok, in a warmed up canteen sort of way, plates of white bread were given in place of toast - most unsettling. Cost cutting corners for sure and a far way off since the garden centre has changed hands. It is now part of Blue Diamond! Probably wont go back for food, I did however buy a lovely Sansevieria trifasciata...

Our party of nine visited on bank holiday Monday! When we arrived our table was put out near the soft play where we asked for and was all clean and well presented which was very pleasing, 3 of us had fish and chips and the fish was great and good portion but the chips were a tad greasy, all our other meals were ok puddings were good and a nice coffee! Prices were about par! Waitresses were very friendly, The kids loved the soft play which was safe and contained!baby changing was clean! Loads of parking but limited family parking! I had a quiche with salad and chips which cost £8.50. It was horrible. No love had gone into the preparation. Greasy chips. Salad hacked into chunks. Coleslaw sloppy and full of onion. Quiche was so tough I could hardly cut through it. I struggled to eat even a small amount leaving most of it. To be fair a lot of people were eating fish and chips which looked ok but I would not recommend the cafe on the basis of what I ate.

I have been for afternoon tea with a number of friends over the past two years, usually with a Groupon Voucher and it has always been value for money with delicious sandwiches and cakes. I went with a friend last week and paid full price, which admittedly is not expensive but I expected the same quality food that I had had previously. The sandwiches where like truckers sandwiches. They were cut into quarters with the crusts left on and made with thick bread. The cucumber pieces were cut so thick that the sandwich would not stay together. The scone, jam and cream were fine but the cakes were nowhere near up to the usual standard. Will not be going again until I know it’s improved. May I add that the Staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful.

Called here for lunch on our way back from shopping. First, I should say this place is an attractive place to eat-well designed and spacious. Customer service very friendly. I ordered a special of cornish pasty, chips and peas and my wife had ham and cheese sandwich with salad. There was nothing special about my “special”- chips were dry and tasteless as was the cornish pasty and hard peas , which from its appearance texture and taste had clearly been cooked in microwave. Would have rated, lower but for the fact that my wife’s sandwich looked good and she said she appreciated the quality of the ham. Will probably return as nice atmosphere and have had great sandwiches here in June and October last year but will avoid hot food!

Called her with several members for a late afternoon snack on the penultimate Wednesday in November. My family had a variety of cakes and hot drinks which I understand were good. The last few occasions here I had ordered a coronation chicken sandwich, as they were so good. I ordered again the same again, this time rather than a cake, a big mistake! I could see when the sandwich and salad were delivered to my table It looked nothing like previous ones. Plenty of chicken but the sauce was a different colour and little of it, meaning the sandwich was dry. I didn't particularly like the sauce, which was more of dark brown colour. My cappuccino was okay. Would rate my experience as poor today but for the fact that the others thought there cakes were good/okay.

Three of us called here for lunch on a Wednesday .Really good choice of dishes on the menu .My wife had mushroom garlic soup with sliced bread and I had a gardener’s lunch soup and sandwich, which was tomato & basil and the sandwich had coronation chicken filler. Her dish came out in very good time, but I had to chase ours up after 16 minutes. A friendly & very helpful lady enquired of the kitchen where our dishes were and they came out shortly. The soups were really delicious and my sandwich one of the best coronation chicken ones I have eaten .Spontaneously staff said that management have offered us some free beverages because of the delay so my wife & I had a free cappuccino each. The restaurant is very inviting as always with very good customer service and friendliness I ordered coronation chicken sandwich on white bread and my wife the same, but on brown. My wife immediately noticed that her bread was dry. I was able to confirm this-she also said mine was too. Not good for both white and brown bread to be so dry! The coronation chicken filling itself was full of flavour, but hardly any chicken & mostly mayonnaise! If you fancy taking out a second mortgage, then you'll be able to eat here to celebrate. Lunch was abysmal. The latte coffee was extremely bitter and barely drinkable, the tuna and cheese sandwich was ok but the size of a thumbnail, the coleslaw was made in sour cream (why?) and the salad siding was a clump of iceberg lettuce that quite frankly looked like it'd been picked out of the bin. Then, you consider how much you've just paid for it all. For some reason, the ceiling lights kept going on and off. Then, on again. Never again. A totally miserable experience.

This is a review for the cafe. I'll keep it brief. The food took half an hour from point of order until delivery - just what you need with a toddler in tow who had eaten his 'lunch box' by the time my food came - if you can call an order of something completely different arriving counts. The server didn't look overly bothered that I had been given fish instead of veggie quiche - I'm a VEGGIE and don't eat fish. She stomped off with it and another FIFTEEN minutes later the right dish arrived by which point I had lost the will to live as I was hungry and dealing with a bored child.I will not return.

My friend and I met at 12.30, wondering whether to have lunch. I was surprised how quiet it seemed at a peak time. Compared with my previous visit, there seemed to be grey few people around. After looking at the menu my friend and I thought it pricey and even bypassed the cake, just having coffees. Serving us still seemed to take a while because the young man serving us was hampered at the till by a colleague trying to sort out a food order. We sat and enjoyed our coffees over a very long chat. As we were doing so, one lady staff member seemed to be getting by confused over food orders and as tables started to fill up it was clear that customers were waiting longer than they had expected.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the breakfast I enjoyed there, at 11 am. It was a reasonable price and it was varied and nicely presented- all appetising and there was plenty of it. I was on my own but felt quite comfortable with the friendly, 'family' atmosphere.

We like coffee and cake here sometimes and when the right chef was on duty the food was good. The service can leave a lot to be desired and as for the service in the garden centre itself, it doesn't exist. The gardening staff can be helpful but the staff on the tills are slow and more interested in chatting with their friends than serving customers.

A milkshake and coffee cake, a disappointing milkshake but fantastic homemade cake would defiantly recommend it! A friend had water and an underwhelming panini without pesto as there was none and not mozzarella as advertised just cheddar. Next time maybe just a coffee and cake :)

We dropped into the cafe after looking around the garden centre. We only had a coffee and it must have been stewing for at least an hour or more, it was very bitter. Looking around at the decor in the cafe it was apalling. Cheap plastic leather looking seats, a ceiling which was like the inside of a long decayed greenhouse and lights which must have dated back to the 1960s.The garden centre itself has good plants but the interior sales areas were cheap and badly designed. Constant tannoy announcement combined with poor quality music rounded off the expeience. The houseplants wer good.

Purchased tea and cakes and the clotted cream was 10 months out of date and looked and tasted terrible. I returned to the counter and told this is normal and ok because "it has been in the freezer".

First trip coffee machine broken. Ok have cold drink (fancied a latte but never mind) also ran out of fish for the fish and chips meal. Female staff at counter were apologetic and offered scampi which we accepted. Tartare sauce was awful though. The meals were smallish portion for the price paid. Second trip about 10 days later ... coffee machine still broken, no fish and chips either sense of de ja vu although this time sulky man on till. Asked him if we could have scampi instead his reply "we don't sell that". I said we had it about a week ago and he said well we've changed the menu. I think he couldn't be bothered to find out if there was any. We left and probably won't go back. Also extremely loud with young kids everywhere as ball pit opened !!

We went to the garden centre for a nice lunch with the grandkids, when the person on the till had put 3 teas down, when one of the pots was hot water. When going to get the refund, for the overpriced pot of "tea", we were told that the young boy on the till, that he could not give us a refund, as he did not have the authority. We waited for 25mins before getting cakes, and the duty manager was at the till. She was happy to give the refund, but refuse to, instead of putting it back on the card, knock it off the cakes. We then had to pay for the cakes, we decided in cash. She then gave us a stare of death, as we counted out all the small change and shook her head.

Took my mother for an impromptu visit to buy a few things and to have breakfast. Sort of self service, you order at the counter and your breakfast ,apart from drinks is cooked and brought to your table .Service was good and friendly but breakfasts were overpriced for what you get ,£7.99 for a large breakfast(more medium sized),Last came here for breakfast few years ago & quality of bacon & sausage ,not as good now . However the one Hash brown that I was given was very tasty. I noticed the price of cakes in the restaurant was high with a fresh cream cake almost £3! The garden centre itself is well worth a visit.

8 quid for a full English, took quite a while to arrive, hash browns were of the frozen variety, baked beans a mushy gloop, presumably kept in fridge and reheated., sausage was over cooked so skin was rock hard, eggs variable and were a million times hotter than the rest of the dish. Didn't try the black pudding. Service on the hand seems good , feel sorry for the front of house staff having to serve this slop.

We went on a Sunday and found that unless you booked a table it was self service, (if booked waitress service). Which we could understand as it was quite busy. We were served pretty quickly but found no vegetarian options on the menu, in the end the staff agreed to do baked potato without the bacon filling, then to come back and say they had none left, we ended up with a toasted sandwich, with cheese and onion, if your a vegan you may as well forget it. Although very pleased to see soya milk available. The service was quick and the food good, although a little expensive for what you got.Nice garden centre, and clean toilets.

We were well-catered for in every sense on a snowy Sunday at lunchtime. The car-park was clear which was good as we had a people in their 70s and 80s, in our party. We called in and had a very good Garden-centre lunch, shepherds pie and baked potatoes. The potatoes were huge and the fillings were more than adequate! We were expecting 'OAP' portions and we were pleasantly surprised.

The cafe in Blooms is very pleasant to sit and while away your time with a nice coffee and decent sandwich etc. We have been several times and the food has been good but not exceptional - the service used to be very slow but they seem to have sorted out some of the problems, and things run much more efficiently now. Ham and mustard sandwich with chips was good but have not had a full meal there although others eating at the same time seemed very satisfied with what they had been served. Worth calling in if you are visiting the garden centre and need to take the weight off your feet for an hour!!

Lovely venue, friendly service. Food could be better as just had a sandwich which I had to send back as bread was stale. They replaced without a problem though.

45 mins waiting for puddings with children's meals. Forgot half the food with other meals. Went to children's area, filthy. Staff miserable. Had to ask three members of staff if I was able to move another table over so we could all sit together, looking at me like I had 3 heads...terrible customer service. table still full of our plates after an hour of finishing. Went to the toilets, bogeys all up the walls the dust is that thick it's stuck to the walls. Grime all up the walls where you put clean hands under drier. Male toilets out of order... Used filthy smelling red mop in food areas. I've never felt the need to write a review for anywhere before. In shock that the place is even open.

When Luke is running the kitchen the food is excellent! Thank you to Luke for a great lunch today (6/10). Great front of house service from Caleb on his last day, good luck to him on his return down under. Thanks also to Val and Petra for looking after us so well.

My wife and I visited this pub one Sunday for dinner. Luckily they had one Sunday lunch left which my wife had. I had the steak which was cooked medium just as I had asked for.. delicious 😋 All in all the food served was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We live not too far away so we will definitely visit again soon.

We had a lovely night away in this beautiful hotel, with an extremely comfortable bed in a room in the main house. We had drinks in the bar before exploring the gorgeous gardens and meeting Charlie the kitten amongst the roses. Our evening meal was wonderful. We were offered complimentary Prosecco each (it was our fortieth wedding anniversary) and we started with homemade sourdough and pate which was delicious. For the mains, I chose the lamb which fell apart under my fork and my husband chose the chicken which was moist and delicious. Breakfast was equally fabulous, with a choice of cereals/juices/toast and we had the full English - one with poached egg and one with scrambled - all cooked to perfection. Great place, great food, great service from lovely, helpful and smiley staff - we will return…
