My husband went to the counter with our dog in tow and ordered three lattes. He was advised to find a table and told that they would be brought over to us. After waiting fifteen minutes or so a waitress approached us (without our drinks) and informed us that we were not allowed sit at the table we had chosen because of our dog. We where then ushered round to a separate area by the waitress who proceeded to wipe the table down and leave it soaking wet. We felt like we had sent to the naughty corner. When the lattes finally arrived, another five minutes or so later, mine was full of lumps where the milk had curdled due to it being overheated. In summary it seemed like the staff were all over the place and couldn’t manage the number of sittings they had.

First time I’ve ever eaten here and would never return. I found a hair in my salad. When I first told a staff member, he didn’t even apologise. I then went back and the lady offered a refund. My daughter’s cheese and onion slice was bone cold and hard. Mugs, glasses and cutlery weren’t fully clean. Food was average at best. Staff were very friendly but that’s where the positives end. Would not recommend.

After reading earlier negative reports, and not having been since before covid! as we dont live local, we thought we would go and make sure it hadnt changed since we had been before. I am so glad we gave Blooms a chance to speak for its self. The restaurant was almost full and managed to get nearly the last table. I have to say that the service was super, the three different main courses we chose were what we would say were 9.5 out of 10. The staff were happy and now I can see why the restaurant was so busy so thank you Blooms

Visited here with my partner, ordered a bacon and Brie ciabatta and I payed extra for chips, when it arrived the food looked ok but there was hardly any bacon in the ciabatta and there was only six chips on the plate which cost £2.79 for the extra chips . Service was quick and staff was polite but definitely not worth value for money . Will not be returning .

Visited the cafe at peak time when they the Sunday carvery. Busy and popular. Just grabbed a table for a chicken and mushroom pasty. Nice and hot - good start. First bite, pastry no problem, second bite pastry ok, third, fourth , fifth bite - hot air and pastry. Opened it up - nothing, maybe something , let’s get the microscope, something like a paste in the far corner difficult to define. If you want a hollow pastry surprise this is the place for you!

Drove 25 minutes to collect a too good to go carvery bag, to arrive to a load of workers saying we didn’t have a carvery today. Ignored by the staff while I just stood there waiting to hear what to do, heard one of the staff tell the manager/ chef I told you to cancel them. Then after a nearly 10 minute wait the manager/chef appears and said there’s been a mistake I’ve cancelled the bags. Not even a sorry. No alternative offered despite telling him how far I had driven. Disgusting way to treat customers, I wasn’t the only one. Will not be returning.

We have visited this Restaurant on many occasions, and decided to have lunch a few days prior to Xmas. On arrival we were surprised the Restaurant was not busy only 20% full, we ordered 2 hot meals and 2 hot drinks which were served quickly. After waiting 35 minutes for our hot meals to be served, I asked a member of staff how much longer they would be, the response was the kitchen had overlooked our order but would cook them if we waited a further 20 minutes, which we were not prepared to wait. They did offer a luke warm 'sorry' and refunded the cost of the hot meals but still charged us for the hot drinks. We were not the first to have this shocking service, there are several previous reviews where customers have encountered similar issues, it appears no lessons have been learnt. I will not be visiting this Restaurant in the future and would not recommend it to anyone else until improvements are made.

Very slow moving queue. Gave table number and was given another random number. Staff came with order, confused that our table number did not correspond to our seats. Became a little distressed with us. No sugars offered. None on table. Had to go and find these ourselves. Not clear where these were. Our full English breakfast was very tasty and well cooked. Fully recommend. I had a cheese scone however, which was not particularly cheesy. Overall a good experience. I would visit again. The numbering and ordering system needs some attention.

This place just never seems to learn ! Re-visit from time to time in the hope there at some point will be some improvement. Service is generally slow. The person taking the orders at the counter (Well when I visited anyway) did not seem particularly friendly or welcoming. Each time someone placed an order, they turned away , walked away with their back to waiting customers to go and spend several minutes between taking each order to then organise the order they have just taken. Several minitues between serving each customer. I mean, come on, what an outdated, antiquated system, lord knows what they do when it gets busy!! The person taking orders also appeared to have no idea how the loyalty stamp card system works. In addition to which I stood there with my British Garden Centre membership points card clearly in my hand, as my order was taken I held my loyalty card out to be scanned , only to have my head literally 'bitten off' and barked at that I'd missed my chance as the card should be presented before placing any order. I did point out I had been standing there clearly holding in my hand to be seen . Whilst the garden center itself is quite a nice place to visit, of the 3-4 local garden centres we regularly visit, the restraunt at Bressingham really is a poor relation to the restraunts we use at most other garden centres. Come on Bressingham ...... Time for a shake up ! Pull your socks up !!

We visit here once a year to meet relatives ‘half way’ and were caught on the hop by the complicated new system of getting food, involving queuing to pay at one counter then being told to sit down and wait to be called back to another counter for the food to plated. It was earlier in the year so hope it’s not the same when we visit again.

Just noticed my previous review for this restaurant - a number of years ago - which was not good. How times have changed: We enjoyed a delicious and relaxed breakfast here. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked, and I chose the vegetarian sausage option which was tasty (I’m not vegetarian, I’m just not very keen on sausages). The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was clean and tidy. We’re looking forward to a return visit soon.

For £14.99 my fish portion was rather small, not sure what it was either, certainly not cod, was cooked nicely and was served with peas and chips. All was very hot. Would suggest £9.99 would have been more appropriate. Did not object to the long wait as I knew it was being cooked fresh. Would I go again? No, there are plenty if other venues around with better value.

Not an issue.Went to join the queue to order food. There was only one lady on the till who had to place items on a tray at the other side of the restaurant too. I waited for over half an hour to be served. I asked if there was any gluten free cake which she said there was a brownie so I ordered that. When it came to the table, the brownie was about 1 inch square and has cost nearly £3. My husband ordered a scone. It came with butter so we asked the waitress if there was any jam and she said they had ran out. She said she would try and find some but it would cost an extra 40p. We then asked for sugar for the coffee to be told that that had ran out too! Eventually the chef brought us some from the kitchen. Will not be going back.

At no point were we told there was a 50 minute wait for our food. Also to make matters worse other customers meals were served up before ours. The only vegetarian option was dire and luckily as it turned out I couldnt have it as there was only one pie and for the vegetables and potatoes my husband had to go up to the meat carvery to be served these soggy overcooked items.I think I could have counted the number of baked beans on my jacket potato and no cheese as requested. It was plonked on the table unceremoniously by a white coated member of the kitchen staff who rushed off before I could ask about this. We had asked twice about how long our food would be and were told it would be coming out soon (it didnt). So disappointed. Just ate what we could as we were very hungry by then and left. Baldy laid out ford stations. You used to have one till for people only wanting cake and coffe and one for hot food. Now everyone queues together. You get a queue that moves very slowly to find out you are in along queue for hot meals. There a till after this one, but not signs or direction, that theirs a second till. When we saw the second till and went to it, we made to feel as if we should have stayed in the hot food queue. Needs to be badly sorted out, as this system doesn’t work. The staff are slow and take a long time to take orders. British Garden Centres have taken over from Wyevale during the week we have regularly visited over the summer for afternoon tea. Visited yesterday and had a lovely afternoon tea for two for £12. We went back again today and the price was £25.90 which I happily paid in the belief we would be able to sample their new afternoon tea, which we were informed previously would be home made. After waiting 35 minutes for our order I had to ask when our food would arrive, only then were we offered a drinks refill, these used to be free with Wyevale. When our food did eventually arrive 45 minutes after ordering, it was exactly the same as we had had the day before but for £12!!!!!! I still had my receipt from the previous day and queried the price difference only to be told it was because a new company had taken over!! Felt completely ripped off, we won't be back.

We stopped off for a well earned cup of tea and a scone. We entered the quiet cafe full of people over 70. The place lacks atmosphere and despite half or so dozen catering staff we found ourselves floundering on where to stand and where to order. The displays of food and drink are clearly on show in a half circle all the way around and the staff stand the other side milling around. There are two cash desks and signs above them showing drinks but that’s the only indication something is happening. The displays of cakes and scones are self service although this is not obvious to anyone and you have to catch the attention of the staff to find this out. To actually then order hot or cold drinks not from the self service display take an age and I reckon if we had waited any longer we may just have qualified for the pensioner discounts!

I used to come here as a kid, look around the garden centre and then have a drink/ cake in the cafe. You could definitely spend a couple of hours here. We visited last weekend, browsed the shop etc and went to the cafe with our 1 year old. We were going to have some food and drinks whilst our little girl played on the soft play area. Unfortunately when we entered the play area room the stench was overwhelming. Every single table In there was filthy with old food and plates and the smell just revolting. It really was awful I don’t know how to explain it nicely. It was a mixture of pee and sweat and smelled like there was something dead in there. I’m not fussy about my daughter coming into contact with a few germs here and there but that room was too filthy to stay in for more than 1 minute, let alone play and eat in there and pay £2 for the privilege! Used the toilet before we left, again just dirty. (Despite there being a “cleaning” schedule on the wall) The cubicles were grubby and the floor didn’t look like it had been mopped in a while. There were toilet rolls scattered everywhere and the wall underneath the hand dryer was dribbled with brown splatters. I hope management read this and look into their hygiene issues. It’s a shame because this place used to be great. We won’t be returning in a hurry.

GREAT choice of food and drink. What lets this place down is that it's get under staffed. Only two people working serving up food taking orders making drinks and taking payment. My food was served to my table when I was still in the que to pay and order drinks. There were 6 people in front of me waiting to pay and order drinks and have them made.

The service was a little unorganised which let them down, but the food once we had been served was excellent and very good value for money. We had the seniors special deal which was dinner, pudding and tea or coffee for £9.50 We complemented one of the chefs on the lovely food.

We waited ages for food and when it finally arrived it was stone cold. Very disappointed with the service in the garden centre. Will take a picnic if we go again. Staff were pleasant enough but were disorganised and seemed to be lacking in experience.

We were told that our hot food would be 6-7 minutes which we thought was acceptable. Over 20 minutes later we were still waiting. After chasing them up it eventually arrived. Our tea was cold by this time so they agreed to give us a fresh pot free of charge. The restaurant is inside a tent type structure, and although they had heaters on, it was freezing. Therefore having to wait such a long time for our food was not enjoyable.

We decided to pop in at 11.15am today for a coffee. We were stuck in the queue for half an hour, and saw other people had been waiting ages. Rather than walk out we thought we'd stay in the queue and order an early lunch instead. This came around 12.15 so around an hour after starting queuing! Really regret not cutting our losses earlier and going somewhere else :(

I’ve had coffee and breakfast here multiple times and I enjoy it. Staff are friendly enough but I find the service a bit slow as they seem light on the tills. Sometimes only 2 people serving and taking money for a queue of people.

Went here with two of our young grandchildren so that they might go on the Spft play area after having their food. Food was very average and the drinks were ok!! Not overpriced but simply just average!

We called just after Christmas. There would have been a 15 minute wait for part of our meals while other dishes were readily available. We had to change our order as didn’t want to eat separately.

Stopped for lunch after visiting the garden centre we really wish we hadn't. The bread was dry in our sandwiches, two of us had 'hot' sandwiches they were cold, one of us had the meal deal, a sandwich and soup for £7 however we were charged separately for this (an extra £3.50). After going back to the till for a refund we were asked to return when the queue was shorter! Very poor service, when telling the staff that the hot sandwiches were cold they said it is only the bread that should be hot not the filling! They have a visitor book to leave reviews in, if we had read this before deciding to eat there we would have gone elsewhere because most of the reviews were bad. Will not be going there again.

We went to see if we could have a roast at 2.25pm. Yes we could, but they would be finishing in five minutes. We had the roast beef and all the trimmings, which we can say was lovely. The beef was perfectly cooked and the parsnips nice and crispy. I could have happily ate a whole plate of the roast potatoes, really lovely. We had Eaton Mess for deserts. Very enjoyable meals and very pleasant staff. Especially the young lass, near the desert area, with slight short gingery hair and the two young men with a beards. Thank you.

On our visit we had a lunch in the restaurant. There were a number of tables available. After looking at what was on offer. We made our selection. I had Hunters Chicken with salad. I felt the meal was average to the type of establishment . I would if visiting again I would look to having a meal again.

I like to stop for a coffee and scone while in the garden centre. I find the coffee a bit strong do always ask for just one shot but they are quite accommodating. They offer a range of hot and cold food but we just had coffee and scones which were good.

I sometimes go to Blooms for a morning coffee, either alone or with a friend. I like the place as there is no piped muzack in the eating area, and in fine weather it is nice to be able o sit outside. I took three people with me for afternoon tea and none of us enjoyed the experience. I waited a while to get served to ordered the drinks we wanted and the afternoon tea. We had a table reserved outside. Given that there were four of us and the table had to accomodate four cups, saucers, plates, tea pot and the two stands with our food a larger table would have made sense. The sandwiches - oh dear! The egg mayoniase was edible, but one was badly cut and the egg was running out. The cheese and cucumber was awful! The cucumber was thicker that the cheese and still had the peel on. The ham and tomato was edible. The scone was good as was the jam. The cream was whipped and may have been thickened with icing sugar. And then the top of the stand. Three types of sugar bombs. A sort of chocolate rocky road, but the taste was pure sugar. A Vienese something with a unnnatural pink filling. And then - what may have been intended as a Battenburg but the sponge was all one colour, divided by a jam or unknown origin. The surround was a slimey pink substance that defied description. The service was non-existant. My friend had to go and ask for out tea pot to be refilled. No one came out to ask if everything was alright, or to offer to refill the tea pot. At £16 for two people this was over priced. There was no elegance to the presentation of the food, which to me is a very important aspect of any eating experience. Seriously over priced. I was very disappinted with the whole experience.

Sunny Day we elected to sit outside, clearly a considerable investment had been made at some point, utterly spoilt by chronic lack of staff very dirty tables and weeds competing with featured shrubs adding to an air of scruffy neglect One third of the outside decked area was cordoned off with fluttering red/white tape to protect an interesting collection of broken tables ,chairs and rampant weeds growing through them, we assumed a coach of bored elderly day trippers had trashed the area a month or so ago no doubt to pass the considerable time while waiting for the paltry offerings of food to be organised.

We visited on Thursday 29th June 2017 and had the over 60s special value lunch. This was excellent in every respect and very good value, couldn't fault anything. But serving starts at 12 noon on the dot! We queued at 11.57 and the server stood there waiting for exactly 12 noon and then commenced serving which we found rather amusing! Staff were pleasant and helpful. Will definitely return.

Disappointed with the visit. We went for afternoon tea Staff were not very helpful. No plates were given to eat from. Coffee/tea were good as were the sandwiches although somewhat limited. The cakes were shop brought and tasted if nothing but sugar.

Absolutely fantastic 8 course tasting menu! Everything was delicious and well executed. Nick was great, he looked after us all night. It was lovely to see the chefs coming out with the food to explain the dishes. Would highly recommend well done

I think this is a shame but it is probably the worst cafe I have ever been to. Firstly the menu is covered in green blobs indicating that the items marked are suitable for vegetarian or vegans this is a choice people make. My partner is gluten intolerant which is a medical condition and there is no mention of it anywhere. We had to ask and the choice for her is miserable. We however ordered our food and waited ages for it. I became aware that they were short staffed but it probably wasn’t helped by one of the team having lunch at 1.30 and another leaving with her coat on not to be seen again. When the food did arrive it was obviously not hot but we had no cutlery, I went to the counter to find that the trays were empty. After eventually finding someone to fill the trays I waited for quite a few minutes before someone came out and said that the cutlery was in the dishwasher and it shouldn’t be long, it was long, at that point we returned the cold food and got a full refund. This is the first time I have ever done that, I’m not normally fussy but this was very poor. The one good thing was the bottle of Fanta.

Visited The Crown last night for a Birthday Dinner celebration. This Country Pub, Restaurant is going from strength to strength since it was taken over by by Lucy and Darryl. From the minute you approach the Thatched building with its beamed interior, you feel as though you have walked into a country cottage living room. Comfortable chairs, relaxed ambience, well stocked bar and a changing menu including fish, steaks, veg, vegan, and a little from afar. It’s always nice to have something with a different twist! Plenty of spacious tables in both front bars and a long atmospheric restaurant behind the bar. If you haven’t visited yet, put it on your eating out list, I don't think you will be dissapointed with the welcome, the friendly staff or the good food.

Well we can’t review the breakfast as we were literally 1 minute late and were told breakfast had finished !!! Gentleman was quite rude to be honest telling us that we had missed it and they were now onto lunch menu. Honestly 1 minute over ! So they missed out on our custom and we went elsewhere. Won’t be back

What a lovely manager. It was close to shutting as I pulled in to sort out my baby from crying on my way home to Essex. The manager even though closed invited me and my baby in so I could feed him and offered me tea. Thanks to her I had a happy baby who slept the rest of the hour journey home. That kindness I will never forget and now we plan to go in every time we make the journey now to see the parents. 10000/10
