Good food and good atmosphere. Slight mistake with system delay in food order but Lewis sorted it out and was really helpful. He also explained a lot about the different types of cut. Great evening

Reasonably priced chop house. We went for the all-in which was tasty and good. Excellent sides and delicious pile-it-high white choc cheesecake for desert. Been a couple of times and it is always busy, busy, busy but the service has always been great - friendly and attentive. The food has arrived in a reasonable time. Good selection of drinks and a great atmosphere.

Well, this was a real pleasure. I have to say I find London restaurant prices getting a bit out of hand these days (even for pretty basic places and menus), service is extremely patch, and quality variable. At Blacklock the food was excellent, the service really top-notch (a shout-out to the superb Marco), and the bill more than acceptable for what we had. Keep up the great work Blacklock - others could learn much from you.

We are a close-knit group of friends residing in Stratford Village who love exploring different places every Sunday to savour a delicious Sunday Roast and experience various restaurants, flavours, and atmospheres. Our recent visit to Blacklock Canary Wharf was inspired by an engaging Instagram video from @eatingwithtod, which piqued our interest. Despite the bustling nature of the venue, we were able to smoothly add an extra guest to our reservation, thanks to their accommodating approach. The warm and vibrant welcome from the hostess set a positive tone for our experience right from the start. She not only escorted us to our table but also took the time to interact with my dog and offered to take our coats – a thoughtful touch. Despite the long queue forming early on, the staff managed the situation with impressive composure and efficiency. When our meals arrived, the presentation was stunning, and the flavours exceeded our high expectations. The meat was incredibly tender and melted in the mouth. Our overall dining experience at Blackcock Canary Wharf was exceptional, blending impeccable service, an inviting ambience, and outstanding food quality. A special shoutout to the energetic and engaging hostess, as well as the attentive and friendly waiting staff who took great care of us, including the gentleman in mustard overalls and the charming individual ( Irish or Scottish ) with blue eyes. We extend our gratitude to the manager for fostering such a welcoming atmosphere and to the talented chefs for delivering exceptional food quality and presentation. Have been to multiple Blacklock restaurants but this is by far the best. Excellent service and the ambience is great. Have tried nearly everything on the menu and love all of it, but the Sunday roast is to die for!

Booked Blacklock after seeing the sharing platter roast on Tiktok & it didn't disappoint! It was absolutely rammo, so we did have a little wait for our table & then the food. But when it came it was glorious! It looked huge, but somehow we managed!! Beef, Pork & Lamb all beautifully cooked. Gravy was insane. Would have been nice to another vegetable, but you can order more as sides. We were a bit gutted that the White chocolate cheesecake had sold out, but we were offered an alternative, which we declined, but they kindly made a note on our file. Will definitely be back!

Positives ...staff work really hard and were very friendly (esp barman) Negatives ...food menu is underwhelming. We booked the couples meal deal which incl some nibbles, mixed meats and fries. All ok but no veg in sight, could do with scrapping the nibbles and adding some peas, fried tomato, mushroom or onion rings.

I went for my partners birthday lunch having read the great reviews. Well I’ve had a better lunch at pret! The steak sandwich was thick with English mustard that was dripping off it and it was inedible. It was really was disappointing and embarrassing. They didn’t charge for the sandwich but I’d rather have had a nice lunch. They then brought out cheesecake for my partners birthday but it looked like leftovers in a serving dish and the biscuits were all stale, whilst the thought was there it was just awful. We won’t be back

All I can say is Tom from the Canary Wharf Blacklock is an incredible member of staff. Fully accommodated all of our needs and wants and went beyond his brief. Keep him in and promote him!!!!!

We were going to watch Macbeth at Dock X and we were feeling meaty so chose this restaurant. We were not disappointed! On a Monday they have BUTCHER PRICE MONDAYS — Big Chops at Butcher’s Price. We ordered; Nibbles Potted Meats & Kimch, Starters Pig’s Head on Toast with Gravy Cull Yaw Crumpet (also with Gravy) From the Butcher price big chops we had..... 750gs Porterhouse with Green Sauce, Barbecued Baby Gems & Anchovy Dripping and Winter Slaw Our server was Marco, he was professional, but very down to earth. Highly recommend!

The most amazing Sunday roast! Get the All In plate for £25 per person, represents the most amazing value for 3 types of meat (so nice to see lamb in there these days!), veg, roast potatoes, yorkshires and unlimited gravy. It’s a right good feed; tender meet, crispy spuds, buttery veg. If you have room don’t skip the signature white chocolate cheesecake. Service was friendly and attentive too. Highly recommend.

One of my favourite spots for ramen in London. The atmosphere is nice, usually extremely busy but worth the wait.

Food was delicious! We had the three different ramen which were great. Would recommend the extra egg and the noodle top up! Service was however really slow and a little inattentive.

A delightful experience, reminiscent of eating in Japan. We tried ramen (two types) crispy gyoza, steamed bao buns (three types), chicken karaage and matcha ice cream – all were excellent. Despite a queue, we got in relatively quickly, the staff were nice and the service quick. Fantastic.

A bit like every chain in this city, acceptable but not amazing. Very light in vegetables, soup was overly oily and generally speaking haven’t quite hit the spot. Other than that, staff were nice and the place is spacious and warm.

It reminded me of Japan a lot, the service friendliness is the same, can improve for London standards. The ramen is really amazing, better that many I tried in Japan. perfect for a cold day.

I went there yesterday for dinner. We asked for water with three staff members, but everyone just ignored us. We ended up finishing the noodles without any water. The funniest part was hen we asked for the bill, the efficiency was great.

Great ramen is very busy during office working hours

So I went into Ippudo to try them out. The food was ok. When I tried to take away the food I had ordered and paid for, I was told that they don't allow that effectively making me throw away food I had paid for. No real reason was given just that it was company policy. Had I known that in advance I wouldn't have gone in. Not only does it purposefully create food waste, its taking away agency for your purchase effectively telling you what you can and can't do with your purchase. In this day and age a ridiculous business practice. Not happy, won't be returning.

Expect a q when you go to the location in Canary Wharf especially in the weekend. I had the vegetarian ramen and it was very good, and for dessert a matcha brownie which I expected to have a different taste, arrived cold, like it was just took out from the fridge and couldn't really feel the matcha or much taste.

Recently visited Ippudo and the experience was a mix of delightful flavors and minor inconveniences. The ramen was a standout – rich, flavorful, and truly satisfying. They did offer vegetarian options, but it's worth noting that even those contained egg, which was clarified upon inquiry. The starters were a highlight – tasty and delightfully crispy, setting a positive tone for the meal. However, the service was a bit slow; I had to request water, and waiting for the bill added to the overall wait time. Despite the service hiccups, the culinary experience was commendable, with the tasty ramen and flavorful starters making a positive impression. If the service efficiency is improved, it would undoubtedly enhance the overall dining experience at Ippudo.

It is a good place for officers. But the waiting time will be longer than 15-20mins. The services are not desirable because so many people want to order their food. The flavour of the noodles is better than the rice☺️

One of those better quality chain restaurant, not a place for surprises. But if you are craving for a hearty noodle bowl, this place can’t go wrong.

I've been queueing for 1h for a group of 6 people whilst seeing other groups of 4 and 2 people entering the restaurant. When I asked for an explanation the only reason provided was that it's a company policy, in my opinion this is completely unacceptable.

This is the first restaurant I went to dine in after lockdown lifted! It's an amazing Japanese restaurant for ramen. I've tried other places but they just don't compare. How many places offer 4 types of noodle texture for every ramen bowl? Service is always attentive and quick. The restaurant has always done a great job of keeping customers socially distanced and sanitizing surfaces. The spicy veggie ramen is always perfect. When the weather is cooler, we always order the bot sake. Highly recommend! All the buns are very good as well. The only negatives are, Ippudo only offers 2 veggie style ramens on the menu and don't play Japanese music in the background. After all this restaurant is in Japan and would make the restaurant more authentic!

They are going to force you to waste food on purpose. We couldn’t finish the ramen but they refused to allow us to take away.

Went there as a family but quite disappointed. Ramen was quite salty, especially the spicy ones. Portion is small for the price of £15. Staff is not so friendly. Can't really find one with a smile. Staff didn't even ask how I wanted my noodles. They acted as if they were busy but not really. Won't be back unfortunately. There are many local ramen places nowadays with better quality and better smiles.

Ramen was also overpriced. Very expensive for bad service and bad food. Never again.

One of the worst places to eat ramen. Ippudo originates from Japan, where the customer service is top notch, not this one though - this Ippudo in Canary Wharf does not care, or give a damn about you. I went there with my mother. We were so disappointed with the customer service, rude staff who took their time, rude staff who when we asked for the bill told us , I will get your bill after he did this etc, in an extremely rude attitude, he was an indian male, I did not see his name. Ramen, we picked the classic - nothing special. Quite bland actually, the pork bone soup is flavourless, like water. Ichiran is much better. £13 each! with "service charge" when we received none! There was also a vietnanmese female who did not care that the air conditioning does not work, and told us just have to bear with it. It was so uncomfortable and hot inside. The table and chairs felt dirty and old. Staff were just standing around most of the time, just very rude, no service at all, no thank yous, no welcome. This is meant to be japanese, but its a very rude japanese ramen shop. I will not return, and I will tell others not to go there too, as the impression and first experience is this bad! Expensive, not worth it at all, go to a Chinese supermarket and buy yourself a packet of instant ramen is much better and much cheaper.

Giving 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for food, we love it and it’s fabulous. Giving 1 ⭐️ for their sneaky misleading service charge hidden in the bill and that without asking they force this on to you and straight up charge you a higher amount without asking. It’s optional in the UK. I will keep giving 1 star because we need to stand up to this, we are not the US, so stop following their dumb tipping ways and make customers go thru the embarrassment of asking the waiter to charge them the REAL amount for what we have consumed and not an imaginary service. *Photo attached. I asked them to charge me what I consumed not the device so they had to bring me another bill without the service charge, goes to show how uncomfortable they make their customer feel by going thru this, awful experience and just killed the afternoon mood for us.

A great ramen place with multiple variety of ramens. This time the restaurant was above normally hot inside

Food is great, but disappointingly customer service and timing of food and drink is outrageously bad. This is the 2nd time drinks and buns arrive after finishing my main meal ramen 🍜. No point as starters and drink should always come first, annoyingly No duty manager and no one to take the responsibility simply incompetent and not the first time either.

This was my daughters favourite restaurant and Iand we have been coming here at least once a month since the restaurant opened. So this evening I took her here since it's her birthday. This evening, we came with a party of four, and there were two six person tables ready but was told it was only for six people. So after waiting outside for 30 minutes, and the tables not filled, I asked again if we could use the six person table and was told no, it's only for six people. All in, we waited for close to 60 minutes just to sit down when there were open tables that were never used.

What a disappointment! Popped in for a quick bite after gym. The waiter spent forever clearing dishes from a table while there was another one already free. Once done I sat down and waited for the table to be wiped. All crumbs were thrown on the floor, right next to me. I placed my order and the main course arrived way before the starter, like a good 6-7 minutes earlier. The pork bun was tasty but packed with mayo which I find odd. The ramen (classic, first one on the menu) tasted boring, probably my least favourite I had in London so far. Once finished I looked towards the waiter who showed up quickly with the bill. I mentioned that I was actually still waiting for the brownie I'd ordered. The matcha brownie is pretty nice but definitely not something I'd order again. Oh, and having my dessert on a dirty table while waiters spray and wipe the rest of the table very close to my plate is not pleasant at all, specially when they are so keen to come as close as possible with that spray and wipe but can't be bothered to remove the empty ramen bowl that's right in front of me. I can't believe some people bring dates here. This is nothing else than a poorly managed eatery that charges you 12.5% service charge only to drop a plate on your table in a hurry. Honestly, go to wagamama, at least there you're not charged for the service.

Gone down hill, way overpriced and the ramen looks miserable.

More like a 3.5 in terms of rating but not quite 4 yet: Normally I am not big on expecting excellence from ramen places but I do think Ippudo handles its ramen broth pretty well. The tonkotsu pork broth was very creamy, rich, and well-seasoned, and the firm noodles offered a very good taste as I ate them together with all the ingredients. The "water" taste was relatively minimal. The pork belly was a bit overcooked and falling apart, by which time I realized there was a bit less meat than I had anticipated but more of the fatty skin part. I just think the broth was a big plus and could make me comfortably say that the ramen I had was great. I know making the tare and the broth takes a long time so while I am not sure Ippudo is exactly following that process, I do see efforts in trying. Both the chicken kara-age and the takoyaki tasted like what they were supposed to taste like, with the oroshi ponzu sauce providing the chicken with a bit of new flavor on top of the already flavorful chicken. The chicken was juicy, too! Juice was flowing out of the breading as I took a bite. The takoyaki had the standard amount of octopus, which was a tiny bit. The matcha brownie was not bad, but lacked matcha flavor and was a bit too hard. It took me a bit to cut it open with my fork which I normally wouldn't be expecting from brownies. Based on the fact that it was cold, I thought it might have been frozen previously. It was well-decorated, but the fact that it was frozen most likely affected how hard it was, along with how less tasteful it was. It was still sweet, but like I mentioned previously, lacked matcha flavor. Another thing I noticed was that the service was slow. It took us a while to get out food. And despite me saying to bring the dessert along with everything else, they still brought out the dessert towards the very end and when we inquired about it, said that they were waiting on us to ask to bring the dessert. Just want to bring it up as a miscommunication instance, but totally not a big deal and it didn't impact my experience negatively at all.

I really liked the ramen it was the classic one, slightly spicy. The place was suggested by a very close friend who tried in Tokio. Prices are reasonable for being in Canary Wharf and portions are generous. I want to come back and try other dishes on the menu. Service is super quick, from when we ordered until the bill, quite impressive! Some tables are getting old and can be replaced.

Ordered the spicy veggie ramen and while the taste was good, quite disappointed in the amount of toppings. The 2 slivers of fried tofu were a joke.. any thinner and you wouldn't be able to see it. Didn't feel worth the £15. You can definitely find better ramen for the same price elsewhere. Do not recommend.

The ramen tastes super good, and even taste better than their branches in other countries I've tried. The spicy ramen is spicy and it matches what I want. But they don't provide the takeaway for ramen though, I wish they have. And if you go during the peak timing, there will be a loooong queue.

Service was incredible - up there with high end service. The waitress who served me and my friend was really Knowledgeable, accommodating and polite. I ordered a vegetarian ramen as I don’t eat pork but added some chicken. I must say the flavours exploded in my mouth. There’s a Japanese phrase that the staff shout to the chefs and the chefs shout back which gives a real authentic feel. The decor here is also not to be missed. 5/5 for me.

So disappointing. We had to queue outside even though there were plenty of free tables inside. When we finally entered the menu wasn’t that inspiring. The service was quick and the ramen base was nice. But I wouldn’t come here again and I certainly wouldn’t queue for it.

Came here yesterday evening with 2 others with a very disappointing experience. For staters, we ordered the veg gyoza and the octopus with the mayo, which was super nice. food came quickly, and drinks came fast. It was super great. For main, I ordered the ramen soup with the tofu, and the portion was amazing but very bland, and the spice wasn't it. The other 2 people had the tofu rice dish the thr chicken one of that and very bland and small portions. We felt hungry after and couldn't eat the mains, so we ordered some more startes and had dessert after, which was tasty but was still hungry after. Wasn't happy with the selection of food. There wasn't a variety of foods. The menu was 1 page?!!! not much choice of vegetarian food, and either way, ur not promised a good size of food or tasty one. Service was fast, but the waiters could've had some personality, like giving us a welcoming experience. Personally, a waiter with enthusiasm and humour always makes my experience better by a star. When I asked why a bit of the food was moving, a waiter said, "Are you joking with me right now?" Sorry? if the food in front of me is very obviously moving, don't i have a right to ask? Felt the question was weird but he explained it was probably the heat of the food but I don't see how that could've been obvious. Price wise, considering wedidn'tt like the main, the bill for 3 came to 97 (incl service charge. I felt like we got ripped off. Don't recommend

The food is great, especially the yaki gyoza. The restaurant is a bit warm inside, air conditioning was weak. I ordered gyoza but the staff forgot my order, after I remind them, they immediately serve the food which was great 👍👍

My first visit here for 'fast food' Japanese style. It must be good as there was a queue for a table when we left at 8pm. Easy menu, the mains are mainly soup based noodles. You can get an extra portion of noodles for a couple of quid that was good. The Rumane bottle is cool but you have to drink from the bottle? Not easy to catch your servers eye when you are sitting your back to them. Food was great though.

Walked in for lunch. As we came earlier, before noon, we managed to grab a couple of chair before everyone swarmed and started a long queue. I was surprised. Tried Ippudo before but in a different country. The broth is definitely flavourful! I hope they open a branch in Reading or Berkshire. Serving was enough for one. I also ordered gyoza. And had mochi for dessert. My partner had something like a katsudon, which was surprisingly small (serving). He ordered two. Would come back to try something else.

Had an okay Saturday lunch, food tastes fine but the service could be better. Our group has 3 adults and one 9mo baby. High chair provided, pram to be parked at front which is fine. They initially seated us at a 6ppl table, then requested us to move to an adjacent table for 4 so it could be used for bigger groups. We agreed but were surprised to see it was then used to sit different group of 3 adults. Service was slow, we had to repeatedly wave and 'excuse me' to get the attention of servers to order. I mentioned not eating spicy, and ordered miso ramen. When it arrived, it was medium spicy, which was not mentioned on the menu anywhere while the next to it had a fire/spicy symbol! Credit to Ippudo to replace my bowl with another non-spicy one. Ramen tasted fine, takoyaki was good, hence the 3 stars. Prices have increased (understandable post covid) but now is slightly steep for a casual lunch.

I live in Canary Wharf and need to the whole Ramen scene. I really enjoyed Ippudo. I got the spicy veg option with extra tofu and it was great!

Great place for lunch with friends

Revised my evaluation following repeated experiences of unsatisfactory service at this particular restaurant. Instances where I had to request the bill from multiple waiters, only to be ignored or forgotten, were disheartening. Moreover, a request to remove the tip due to dissatisfaction was seemingly acknowledged but not actioned, resulting in an inadvertent charge.

Ordered a ramen during dinner time. Didn't get it for 40 mins. Person next to me even finished his meal and left. Seems like they had forgotten my order and I had to ask the server for it again. Feels sad to seen invisible.

Love the Ramen and the crispy gyoza in particular. Strangely slow service for the Ramen, not sure why it took a 20 minute wait between the gyoza and the Ramen.

Let’s say the service was ok, the ramen was not really amazing, the taste was ok, but it was expensive than other ramen restaurants.

The food is consistently ok. I've been here a few times but now the service seems to have gone downhill. It used to be better. While we were guided to our seats eventually and had our food to eat, no one bothered to greet us, nor offered to help with the menu, nor checked in on how we were doing like they did in the past. It was not busy that afternoon. It was disappointing (one male and one female staff). Each time, we needed to get their attention for anything. It was only when we were done that the male staff was really quick to take our bowls away as if telling us to leave soon, which we did. The weekend was going well until this. Don't think we'll be back.

The ramen taste is same as Japan Ippudo. Although the price is double compare with Asia, still I will come here again when I want to have the real Japanese ramen.

Honestly if your thinking about trying this place out, do not hesitate. Food is unreal. Staff are really nice especially the manger. Atmosphere is awesome, very clean very chill vibe. Would highly recommend, can’t really go wrong especially if you like ramen I would honestly say this is the best ramen spot in the uk hands down and it’s reasonably priced for what your getting.

It was just meh. Not bad, but also not great. I was disappointed at how underwhelming marinated my onset tamago (egg) was. I’ll be back if it’s someone else’s idea.

Overpriced food and awful service

Disappointing. Tiny portions for marked up prices. Chicken Donburi had a couple of small pieces drowning in a bowl of overfilled rice. Smacked cucumber was less than half the size of the menu photo and way too oily. Service fine.

Probably some of the best Ramen you'll get in London that is competently and authentically put together. Seating is communal so the atmosphere is very hectic and the restaurant can feel cramped and loud at times. Service was friendly but our server made a few errors in taking our order, although these were resolved without incident. All in all, a good experience!

Best ramen place near London. I was suprised to have taste like this good. Ippudo is a brand of ramen which also located in japan.
