The fish and chips was good and fresh. The best place to eat in Aldgate. Definetely should go. There are options on the menu for children.

Very authentic, I had an English breakfast and pancakes and it was excellent. The pancakes were fried I think which was a little weird but the accompanying honey was really good.

First time having fish and chips in London (finally)! Had the large cod and it was incredible. Cooked fresh to order - served so hot - fish batter was perfectly crunchy! Fish is fresh - never frozen. Yum! Friendly and fun service from Billy! So glad we found this place close to our hotel.

This was a 10/10 experience for me personally. Tried a number of Fish & Chips in London but Jack The Chipper was the best by far. The food was so good that I came back here twice during my short holiday. Service was fantastic as well, particularly from Swathi, she was very cheerful, friendly, and had a great service attitude. I would totally recommend my friends and family to visit Jack The Chipper if they were to visit London.

The food was great! Service was fast and they are all so kind. Billy was our server and is wonderful. I have food allergies and am always worried about traveling away from home. He was very careful and made sure that it was all prepared correctly. Highly recommend.

At first this place is deceiving . You may think it looks very touristy. But looks are deceiving. The staff Is so friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent. The pizzas ,The fish and chips And that sticky toffee pudding for dessert Is excellent This is our first trip to London And we've been to this place twice, I definitely recommend it!!

Nice restaurant. Service pretty good. We had cod and chips. No issues. Perhaps a little wet, not oil. Offered mushy peas. Kids has sausage not a keen as expected. Otherwise ok.

Good food for meat eaters and vegetarians! I tried the pizza (Buffala) which is a new item in the menu and it was very good ( I am a New Yorker with high pizza standards. I also make my own pizza and own pizza cooking books). It reminded me of pizza in Italy. My husband had the fish and chips and it was good as well! The sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Definitely a solid spot and don’t be afraid to try the pizza! The staff were also friendly and we also appreciated the decor.

I was looking for a high quality fish and chips dinner, not too heavy, excellent cod, nicely cooked chips, and this was it. The service is also wonderful. Billy is very friendly and helpful and makes you feel right at home. It met all my expectations for an authentic, but healthiest version, meal visiting London. The atmosphere is old-fashioned and quaint and not too noisy so you can focus on the good food.

Fish and cheaps freshly cooked with fresh fish, both cod and cod, of your choice. Young, polite and friendly staff (Charles and Billy). For us Italian tourists it was very good to have dinner there one evening. Try it and you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful staff, explained all the different types of fish and even though we were disappointed that upstairs was closed they gave us a free dessert to make up for it. We weren’t disappointed after at all!

We found this place by chance, also because it was convenient to the hotel and we ordered 2 pizzas which were nothing more delicious. Excellent dough as well as tomato and mozzarella, truly quality products. The very nice Italian owner and the staff were also very, very kind. The room was clean and very nice. We will also return because in addition to pizza we would like to eat other dishes and above all the legendary fish and chips, the reviews say it is fantastic... and other people who were near us eating it confirmed this to me. .

A review for Billy! I absolutely loved this place: food, location, service, all 10/10. Got myself Cod and chips, it came very quickly and I was surprised how delicious both the Fish and the Chips were, and the garlic sauce added a very lovely taste to everything. The Toffee pudding with Ice Cream is a must if you come here!! Both waiters and cooks were super friendly and I'm so happy this was the first place where I got to eat in London (and came here for a second time before leaving). I definitely recommend this place and expect me here again!

When you think of British food, the first thing that comes to mind is fish and chips. And speaking of Britain's greatest events, it is probably Jack the Ripper. So, I went to Whitechapel where the incident took place. This is where London's largest slum area was located. However, times have changed, and the town seems to have lost all vestiges of what it was back then. If you sign up for a Jack the Ripper tour, you'll be able to visit the places where the murders took place, but walking around town is enough. The town is very ethnic, with Muslim people coming and going, and there are interesting shops. But you still have to eat fish and chips. This seems to be a fish and chips restaurant, but there are other options on the menu. At the entrance to the store, the store staff and someone who appeared to be a customer were speaking in Italian. When you enter the store, the inside is bright and clean. No unpleasant fishy smell. For fish, you could choose a type of white fish. Two types of orders. Now, regarding the fish, the fish in both cases was very fresh, the batter drained well of oil, and it was very delicious. One of the most delicious fried fish I've ever eaten. The beer my companion drank was also delicious (beer in England is always delicious).I prefer tea, which was also delicious and very satisfying. I was impressed that even though the food uses oil, there was no smell of oil in the restaurant. The shop was casual, but somehow sophisticated. When I happened to look at the man sitting next to me, I was moved to see him eating fish and chips so elegantly and beautifully. By the way, there is another store next door, and it's Italian. I wonder if the owner is from Italy. I would definitely like to come again.

Excellent service all the time. Today's visit, we were served by charlie who went above and beyond. Food was excellent. Had fish cakes and halibut (both with chips). Everything cooked to perfection. Everything was perfect (just like precious occasions). Would highly recommend - especially when they have the live singer in town.

First of all, I liked the name of the store because it was interesting haha!! (Sherlock Holmes fans automatically think of Jack the Ripper..!!) Sorry. But if you want to try fish and chips don’t make this place your first choice. Aside from the eye watering price, the haddock was like cotton wool, the chips were lukewarm and nothing was cooked fresh, the food was on our table in less than 5 mins after ordering. £70 for fish and chips, 2 drinks and peas, even had the cheek to add a service charge. Sorry no.

The place is awesome, nice music, very especial ambience and the waiters are accommodating and pleasant. The meal was so good and tasty. We tried the haddock. The only one thing that we didn’t like was the concept of “service charge”, maybe its typical on British restaurants, but for us, was new. Anyway, its a place to recommend to go and enjoy.

Mostly nice and the food is very tasty. The workers are friendly. The Portion is good for the Price but i would still like it to be a bit cheaper we payed 43£ for to fish and chips and a small water. But otherwise i would say 4,5 stars ✨ The fish was fresh and crispy and the fries also.
