Breakfast is great , but the staff not. Strange feeling about the staff. They make to much jokes and try to chit chat when you dont want it

It's a nice place and everything was delicious.

We walked into this bar by chance and to our surprise it was incredible. Great food and service, especially by Adam who made our dinner super enjoyable with a close and friendly treatment. Our daughter loved it and so did we, we will definitely return.

Perfect haddock and perfect chips. I would have preferred a crusty roll rather than a brioche bun, but that is a personal choice. Will try the halibut next time. The staff were very polite and friendly.

Absolutely 100% do not get fish and chips here. It’s styled like a 1950s American diner. The music is beyond trash. And the food is extremely mediocre and overpriced. Yuck

Called a little after 10pm looking for a place to eat and they were so accommodating. Charlie was such a great host and made the cold evening a tad warmer with his service.

Honest review here. Went an hour after lunch for takeout. Didn’t have any haddock or large cod left so I only got the regular cod. Surprisingly still good and crispy for takeout. Fish is nice and chips are also excellent. No tartare sauce though.. was given mayonnaise instead.. is it me or that’s not normal?

Nothing more than another tourist trap. Charging for service is not acceptable neither adequate in UK

We had high expectations for the fish n’ chips because of the reviews. The fish was very good but the chips were bland and not so crispy, so we were left feeling a bit dissapointed but it was a decent meal. Cozy place though!

Went to this highly rated by Google reviews fish and chips place. The decor is like an old diner from the 70s which I didn't mind. They serve a lot of stuff other than fish and chips too. It took a long time to get our food. Fish and chips tasted decent but as you can see in the picture the amount of chips for a large fish and chips was very little so I think it is very overpriced! The service was also very slow.

Good cod and haddock fish and chips! Not overly oily. The decor has an interesting retro feel to it.

Fries were not fried in high enough temperature - which makes them soaky in oil. The fish was good quality, but tasteless (no seasoning) and I don't understand why the skin was on when it is fried.

I confess, I come here about once a week. It's on my way home. The fish is always first class, always fresh. The chips are perfect and never greasy and I love their mushy peas. I tried a steak once for a change and was very pleasantly surprised - quality beef steak cooked as ordered. Tonight as a treat I finished off with a great toffee pudding. I have to mention the lovely staff. I have watched them especially dealing with elderly customers and visitors with such cheerful attention on many occasions. I have to add that they comped my dessert tonight but I would have been back soon anyway. For the quality of the food and portions, prices are good.

Friendly and helpful staff. I had asked if the quarter chicken was the breast and was assured that it was. However, the portion wasn't what I had expected and wasn't the cut with the wing attached to the breast. I regretted not asking for the half chicken. I had also asked for garden peas but was later informed that they had run out. So I had some baked beans instead. The Diner design of the restaurant was very good and the 60's music very enjoyable.

Very nice restaurant with good to very good food. The dessert topped it all off. Be sure to try toffee pudding.

Jack the Chipper was 3 blocks from my hotel. I stumbled in and had my first London's famed fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding - both delicious. and the service and hospitality was WONDERFUL!!! whenever I'm in London, no matter where I stay - I'll make my way back to Jack the Chipper.

Good fish n chips restaurant. Nice setting mixing 60s US and English style. The chips are very good and the fish breading is very crispy. Many tables on 2 floors no need to reserve. Located in Whitechapel, 2 minutes from the Adlegate East exit and 10 minutes from the city. Good lager. The desserts are generous.

Food was not great, burger had absolutely no flavor and just a hand full of chips to go with that were stone cold. Almost £4 for a water down coke as well. Won't be recommending this place to anyone

Loved this place more than any place in White Chapel. So cool. Really great fish and chips. Try the cod bites - huge portions. Same neighborhood as Jack the Ripper murders and tours. Right down the street! One of the coolest places in London!

We had dinner here. It was a Friday evening and there wasn't much going on in the store when we arrived, but it was already after 9 p.m. I had the fried calamari and the chicken burger. Be sure to include the cheese with your burger, it's a game changer. Dip for the calamaries was delicious, complemented the acidity of the limes that came with it. With the burger it was nice that there were onions, cucumbers and lettuce on the side so you could build the burger yourself. Some will miss the sauce as there is none on it. But believe me, take a little of the red sauce from the dispenser, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles and leave. Super tasty and not dry.

Outstanding place that has a cool theme, classic English food, and is right in Whitechapel by all the Jack the Ripper tours. Stop in for a quick bite or hang out for awhile and enjoy the ambiance. Highly recommend to add to your bucket list if you’ll be near Whitechapel.

Portions are modest which keeps the calorie count down. Quality was decent (4-stars for the fish) and the restaurant had a nice vibe and service was good, so overall good experience.

I had a wonderful experience at Jack the Chipper. It's really close to public transportation which made it extremely easy to get to. My mother and I were seated immediately upon entering. After taking a moment to read the menu our orders for cod, calamari, virgin piña colda, and mushy peas were taken. During the short wait for the food we got to take in the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's a fusion of a passion for music and the sea. Our food arrived at the same time and we devoured it joyfully. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. The cod was hot with a crispy exterior and amazing flaky interior. According to my mother the calamari excellent. She was surprised at how crispy the exterior was and how tender the meat was. She especially enjoyed how refreshing the virgin piña colada was. Also, it was our very first time eating mushy peas. It was great! Super tasty! I just wish I had more room in my stomach to enjoy it all! All in all, it was a wonderful time. We are certainly going to visit again during our stay in London.

My friend and I found this place on the whim. We did a search for Fish N Chips and this place popped up with over 2500 reviews. We’ve never heard of this place, but from what we saw from the photos, it looked good. Upon arriving, you fall in love with the outside aesthetics. It’s a very unique looking diner with tons of seating. We came in October but I felt like I was in a classic diner, around Christmas, being served my family owned business. Before we could even open the door, the door was opened for us by the manager who is a tall, handsome faced man who always has a smile and is from Cyprus. After we were seated, the first thing we asked if anyone had a iPhone chargers. They delightfully took our phones and charged both of them during the entire meal. The food is good. It is some really good food. Be ready to get your monies worth. I believe my friend and I could’ve shared everything and still got a good meal. One of the waiters was so nice enough to take photos of us and our food and airdropped them to us after the meal. The manager came by often and gave us jokes and laughs. And don’t leave without trying the chocolate dessert with ice cream. The chocolate brownie cake comes out warm and moist and combines beautifully with the vanilla ice cream drizzled in some sweet delicious sauce. I’m so grateful to God we found this place because we had no idea where to eat. This place is a real treat. Again, if you aren’t a big eater, I recommend sharing dishes because the food is a lot and so heavy.

Halal. Fish and chips are mediocre. Seafood pasta was a disappointment. They use very tiny shrimp. Great service though. Clean toilet. Nice deco.

We were a group of 5 friends. We asked to just have some beers, and they told us there was no problem (they answered us in Spanish), once inside and drinking the beers, they brought us some fries, we thought they had made a mistake and we told them, the answer was "from me, to you" we thanked him for the detail. When we finished and went to pay, we saw the bill... we felt a chill, as if Jack himself was behind us about to gut us... 4 medium ones that cost us in exchange, like 5 full pints in another pub. I can't comment on the food, but to just have a few beers, any other pub in the same area is better for the price.

For a fish and chips shop, the fish was very disappointing. Ordered take-out as the hotel was a 1 minute walk. Food was piping hot, which is not always the case at take-away places. Staff was very friendly. The chips were good, but I found the fish very underwhelming. Both the cod and haddock were dry and fried too much. The batter was tasty, subtle in taste. So they can certainly whip up a good batter, but unfortunately throw it out of the window by overcooking a delicious piece of fish. Also ordered a chip butty. Bottom part of the bread was deliciously buttered, the top was inedible and rock hard. Unacceptable, paid nearly 50 pounds for dry, overcooked fish and a stale piece of bread.

This store is relatively new and it looks very nice inside. I think the food is a bit overpriced but the quality is very good. My favourites are the calamari which are really soft and not at all chewy. The fish and chips is also really nice. But as I’ve said before, it is a bit expensive and a plate of fish and chips might cost you nearly £20.

I would like to say the service is great staff were so helpful. I'll be so honest the food wasn't the BEST I had the beef burger and I felt like it was too fatty for me and I could still see some red meat inside the burger patty. The chips were nice and the salad too. I would come here for the mojitos the passion fruit mojitos were sooooo refreshing. Otherwise it's okay.

The food is good. Nothing objectionable. What I found annoying was that there was a service charge, in our case over £5, and the waitress wanted us out as quickly as possible before I had finished my drink.

Eventually I got to visit this place which everyone has been talking about! Now the decor and service was excellent, we were greeted by the staff with a smile and were made to feel welcome Now the portions of the food isn’t too great , I felt few more chips would have made my experience a bit better, skate and chips £19! Guess the prices are in line with the area Would I go again ? Time will tell

Great place to casual dine. We went there just to eat something and go. But we were surprised from the great atmosphere. There was a live music, the singer was great! The service was kind and the delivery of the order was impressively fast. The food we ordered was classical fish and chips but it was really tasty. We've oredered the the regular portion but it was pretty enough.

Nothing wrong with the food or atmosphere or staff service. The issue comes the small portions and the premium cost. Its a nice experience but you can find just as good for half the price.
