Jack The Chipper London in Tower Hamlets

It was delightful! I thought it was going to be a tourist trap, but it wasn't. The food was decently priced and delicious. And the staff was AMAZING. I haven't had people that happy to serve food in years. They were great.

We ordered fish and chips, the cod was great and the chips were amazing! Waitresses polite and nice. Recommended!🫠

I went there to have fish and chips. Chips were just ok, however I didn’t like the fish at all. It was quite large piece of cod, I looked good quality however it was dry like hell. Overcooked. Gosh, terrible. What I also didn’t like I was charged 3.10 pounds as „service charge”. Sadly I cannot recommend this place

We saw the name when we arrived in London, found it a fun play on words, didn't think much of it. The day before heading north, we decided to not cook breakfast, and started looking at what was near by, and noticed that Jack the Chipper was well rated, so, we gave it a shot -- and were not at all disappointed. We were warmly greeted, chatted with my the host / server; whom was being promoted to asst. manager the next morning and he was so much fun - and I we felt he was that way all the time. We have noticed that in London, most breakfast places have the same twelve items to choose from (yes, there is variety, but if you spend any time looking at breakfast / brunch menus in London, you will understand); and Jack the Chipper was no different. The key was, very good execution on our meals. The best way to describe the interior is "funky american diner designed by someone who has never been to an american diner comfortable". We loved it. Excellent value for money, and we would not hesitate to go back on our next trip should we stay in the area again.

My family and I really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. We ordered the cod, and it was excellent—fresh and flavorful. We also tried the chicken wings and chips, which were fried to perfection. If you’re not in the mood for fish, the chicken is a fantastic alternative. For dessert, we had the apple pie and chocolate cake—both were delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. You have to try them! What really stood out was the incredible staff. Every team member was helpful and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. This is the perfect place to stop in for a nice meal, whether you’re with family or just looking for a cozy dining experience. Highly recommend!

I was impressed that they were happy to seat solo diners. Everyone was very friendly and it had a fun vibe. Meals are huge and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

We went to this place following reviews on instagram. Too bad we can't give it a 0. Fish full of oil, had no flavor and seemed full of water, they remake the fish but nothing changes the hand is always the same. After 3 hours I still feel sick so much from the oil that was there. We ate the really very good fresh fish, but not here at their place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. TERRIBLE..... DISAPPOINTING.... THE ONE FROM THE SUPERMARKET IS MUCH BETTER, ASSUMING THAT THIS IS FROZEN FISH TOO

We had dinner here today. We had a few questions at the beginning, which were answered politely and competently, and then a recommendation was made. The 15% service charge is included, but it saves you the embarrassing question of "which button should I press on the card reader?" Everyone can decide for themselves. The fish and dessert were delicious.

This restaurant is a fun upbeat place to eat, lots of charm and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. I had a pizza and it’s the best I’ve had in a long time. My partner had the fish and chips and they said it was delicious and not greasy like most fish and chips. Shout out to Charlie.

It was my first time trying fish & chips in the UK! The fish was very well cooked. The chips wasn’t anything special, maybe a bit bland and lacking salt and crispiness. The menu is extensive and has a lot of options to choose from.

What a great place, my daughter and I love Rock, and you don’t find many places that serve, especially as good as this. The staff…… well they are brilliant, friendly, attentive and they want you to have a great experience. It’s so close to Aldgate East station and not far from the markets up via Brick Lane I recommend this to anyone looking for traditional fish n chips, although they do have other meals on the menu. Took my American friend for a proper fish and chips, and this was everything I hoped it would be. The food is beautifully cooked, the staff are attentive and fun, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

Okay UK this is my 1st visit from the US with many more to come. Chatting it up with several locals and I quickly learned that Jack the Chipper is thee spot for the best darn fish and chips in the UK. From the amazing food to the phenomenal service by Ali Jack the Chipper is definitely a 10 out of 10 must visit.

We loved the place, super cool decoration. We ordered fish and chips and we loved them, very crunchy. Great service, very friendly. A bit expensive and they charged us almost 13 pounds for the service, but hey, you pay for the place too.

Has an American diner kind of vibe The food was pretty good, though I honestly don’t know what a “great” fish and chips would taste like… Most of all, I thought their service was amazing. I didn’t order a drink and they gave me a glass of water with slices of fruits, and whenever my straw broke, I didn’t say anything but they noticed and gave me a new straw..! Felt really heart warmed here! Close to the station as well which was so nice!

Casual spot with great food and huge portions. Stopped in for breakfast- had the scrambled eggs with bacon, and the portion was huge - could definitely share unless you’re really hungry. Waffles were good as well. And the food presentation is fabulous, I forgot to take a photo. Staff is super friendly and attentive.

Cosy restaurant with absolutely amazing dishes. I've tried position named "English breakfast". For me - tourist, it was great pleasure of getting to know the classic English dish. Reasonable prices with extremely kind and fast service.

We ate there twice during our four-day stay. We really enjoyed it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food tastes great and the ambience is great. A small disadvantage in London, which is already too expensive, was that service fees are automatically added to the food. Between £4-5 both times... you should definitely know this before eating. You should definitely have eaten here :)
