Chipped tooth as I bit into a piece of bone in chilli beef. Absolutely disgusting. Will never order from there again... Trip to the dentist. Cheers.

So I’ve given 1 star because when the food FINALLY arrived it was absolutely delicious so it really deserves a 5 star as a food rating ,however, l ordered a takeaway, online at 6.30pm for a 8.15pm delivery .It eventually arrived at 9.52pm! The service is shocking, despite being incredibly tasty . So yes l would recommend if you’re happy to pick up your takeaway but sadly l won’t ever order from them again because the system is clearly flawed & 10pm is less than ideal to be eating an evening meal .

Ordered for the first time and was disappointed. The chicken balls were like flat chicken nuggets, the sweet and sour sauce was watery and we didn’t receive our prawn crackers. Wouldn’t recommend and we certainly won’t order again. I thought our order was more expensive than we would normally pay.

I have used thousands of Chinese takeaways and restaurant's in UK and USA. London had quite a few good Takeaways so did New York but as far as Hampshire there is only one and this is it. I have been using them for the last 5 years and never had a problem. Very varied menu and plenty to choose from. Prices a tiny bit high some times but you get what you pay for. Wish they did a loyalty discount !

I consider myself a connoisseur when it comes to curry’s and this place doesn’t disappoint. This is the only place I’ve ever had the pleasure to order from without ever needing to look on the menu. The food is always hot, there are never any mistakes and the one time we had an order mixed up with someone else, it was quickly rectified. I cannot say enough for this place. Your favourite customer in Richards Field!

I order regularly from this Chinese and have never had a problem. Food is always hot and tasty. Only thing I wonder is what steps they're taking to reduce the amount of plastic going out. The rice comes in foil trays and I just wondered whether this would be possible for other dishes too. Other than the plastic issue, this is a great place!

Me and my family have ordered from this takeaway for years! Chicken curry is honestly the most authentic tasting I’ve ever tried! Chicken balls are lovely also, not full of fat unlike other takeaways, chips are great too! Regular customer, the staff are also always friendly when I have popped in to collect and when delivering!

Honestly not sure why they have received so many bad reviews. I consistently use Black Dam Chinese. Always friendly towards me with great customer service. Food is lovely and honestly believe that it is one of the better ones in Basingstoke. While reviewing the top Chinese’s In Basingstoke I was shocked to see it was only number 13. Remember people are more inclined to leave a review on a place when they have had a bad experience.

Hadn't eaten here for a while thought I would try again and it's the worst felt really ill after its very greasy and looks and taste old nothing taste fresh giving up with this place now

Poor food made my husband feel ill. we had this happen once before but we gave them a second chance, this time it took less than 10 minutes to cook our 5 items portion - more like heat up of yesterdays food! YUK! It was luke warm and we only live round the corner - £26.00 wasted - sorry will not be returning again.

They messed up the order and argued with me on the phone about it. I dont know what they were doing when they took the order but when they repeated it back to me it was correct. I was very careful about making the order as husband is particular. They seemed to be looking at what I ordered previously on their records and this is what they argued that I ordered. However I have never previously ordered what they sent, but even then I have never ordered what they say I ordered as I cant eat quorn as it has egg in it. There are other takeaways in Basingstoke with better reviews. Its not the first time they have messed up the order, but it will be the last.

Myself, My Boyfriend, Mother and brother ordered our dinner from here tonight and when it arrived it was awful. A sauce had leaked,all the food was cold (not even warm) cold, the crispy chilli chicken was soggy and not crispy at all..when we rang to complain all we got as a reply was that it wasn't cold, which I think is appalling not even an apology and that they weren't going to accept the complaint..terrible service

I live pretty close to this place so occasionally give in and order from it for convenience. Always end up regretting my decision. The food seems hit and miss - one of the dishes I ordered was ok but the others weren't nice.I would strongly recommend ordering from else where. For basically the same price you could order from the best Chinese restaurant in Basingstoke (just look on this site!) and get quality food delivered.

Such a great find , food arrives quickly , always brilliant ... I've seen the bad reviews below and question their pallet. I grew up in Asia and street food is rice/noodles with a bit of meat NOT meat with a bit of rice/noodles!!! Their Malay section tastes just how I remember ... Great variety and all lovely .... if you want English food i.e. Chips go to a chippy !!!!

We have used this Chinese take away for years and always found it to provide tasty, quality food. Last Friday night I placed an order by phone for collection and picked it up 20 minutes later as instructed. The rice was stone cold when I got it home a few minutes later and the banana fritters we ordered as a desert were frankly disgusting and inedible! I felt so strongly about the poor quality of the meal and felt that I needed to tell them of my disappointment. I was not after a refund, I just wanted to inform them that the meal was basically a huge let down and that they obviously have a problem in their kitchen. Unfortunately this experience has put me off of the possibility of returning with my custom in the future.

We order from Black Dam Chinese on a regular basis. They always say it will be 60-90 minutes delivery, but we always receive it within 45 minutes. Food is very hot when it arrives and tastes wonderful. Highly recommended

Pollo en pasta estaba pasada. Sweet/salsa agria muy normal. Arroz frito arroz de Singapur era prácticamente todo con algunos de los lugares bonitos, por lo que es caro. Es fácil de ver que estas personas han incrementado su margen de beneficio. comida para llevar de Tesco es chino habría bajó lugares de esta ofrenda en tarifa menos dinero.

Food tasted bland and full of noodles hardly any meat. Never ordering there again. Even phoned to let them know. Didn't seem interested that our meal was poor.

Pork balls, Rice, Prawn crackers and Chips all very nice here - I struggle to find decent pork balls anywhere else :).

I order, maybe twice a month, and it never disappointed me. They are always very nice when I collect my orders and they are quick when I ask to deliver. I enjoyed my meals every single time and could not say anything bad about this. It's just lovely and affordable chinese food.

I've been using this take away for about 14 years and it has never failed me. I order at least once a month, usually more often. They have a huge menu but everything I have tried has been excellent. Delivery times are usually quick enough and the prices are good. It's handy to be able to pay by card over the phone as well.

Absolutely disgusting! Chicken in satay sauce was like watery mush, chips were all stail and cold, we rang to ask for a refund the manager refused to except that and in the end hung up on us! Never again!

This is our Chinese takeaway/delivery of choice in Basingstoke. An extensive menu, all dishes are well cooked, best Chinese in town!

The gentleman owns this Chinese shop has a serious chip on his shoulder. His Hospitality is much to be desired especially when you try to pay with a debit card and it is slightly under their requirements. Not a nice experience
