Great value, friendly staff, shout out to Gary for his banter and being so helpful! Good choice on the menu and food arrived quickly.

Lovely pub, Dani and Piper were great hosts. 10/10 will be returning. Watched some football and played a couple of games of pool and loved the food.

THIS IS THE BEST HUNGRY HORSE IN THE AREA - The iconic building makes it a great venue. Very impressed everything was good including excellent value for money , one of the most inexpensive places , staff worked hard and went out their way to please the customers

Fabulous place with outstanding food. Beth and team work so hard and offer great service. We both had steak which was cooked perfectly with peppercorn sauce and a Diane sauce.

Had a lovely time as always. Food was fab, always reasonably priced too. We were well looked after by Gary, our food was brought to the table really quickly and Gary made sure we had everything we needed, he was so happy and friendly and made a point of checking in to make sure we were all ok during the evening and ask if we needed anything else. Gary is definitely a credit to you, he has amazing customer service skills. Will be back again soon 👍🏻

It was actually a super cute novelty going to this pub with friends, it is an actual castle, don’t expect Windsor castle mind but we found the original architecture charming and Beth and the team super friendly. If you like good priced food and drink, have a dog, or want a big space to enjoy a hang out with mates you can’t go wrong

We celebrated our sons 21st birthday tonight (23/04), fab food & Service, Gary and the two young ladies worked really hard and looked after us, even when there was a another party that kicked off arguing and fighting amongst themselves, the staff couldn’t be more apologetic. We will be returning

Great food at good prices, staff were lovely especially Gary who couldn’t do enough, friendly staff all round would definitely visit again soon.

Where else can you get a bit of top scran in a Grade 1 listed Castle? If you don't come for the historic architecture, darts board, pool table, fruity, or the tasty pub food & decent drinks promotions then visit just to meet the team. Gary and co never disappoint. Service with a smile and always up for a friendly, down to earth chat. 'The Castle' is just what the Doctor ordered after a long day!

Excellent food and fantastic customer service. There was one minor mistake with our order and Gary kindly helped us and sorted it promptly. He was fantastic!

A little dark inside but there are lighter rooms to sit in. Good menu for everything with chips. Good meal deals to be had throughout week eg 2 meals for £13, burgers BOGOF on a Thurs. Good portion sizes, well cooked and well presented. It's the staff that make this place though. Very friendly and welcoming. Good accessibility and great for families with children.

Absolutely rubbish, portion sizes and price are very bad. Would not recommend. Staff rude Bowl of chips were half way full! Tiny pot of beans that weren’t even half way full.

My waitress Marley was so attentive and friendly. She had a fantastic energy. The food was great! I had the All American burger. Would come here again. Would recommend.

The food was hot and well-cooked but suffering from Shrinkflation. When my meal came out, we thought it was a child’s portion. I've never seen a plate of food look so sparce. Chips placed to make it look more, but with so few of them it just looked silly

Visited at lunchtime today with my son, friend and her daughter. When we walked into the venue there was only a few tables filled- very quiet! My friend and I ordered our food at the same time, in hope we’d receive meals at the same time. After 40 mins of waiting my friend received her food, as an hour passed I had to ask a member of staff where the rest of our food was…as we were on a time limit! Just over an hour passed, my friend had almost finished her food, and the chicken strips, and topped chips finally arrived- (very stingy portions, I think I counted a total of ten chips)If we were made aware of food waiting times we would have gone elsewhere! From our table we seen/heard a fed up visitor telling the staff she wants a refund because she had been waiting ages, coming across extremely annoyed. (I don’t agree with the way she spoke to the staff) Anyhow, we were sat right by the kitchen doors, and a member of staff walked in with the lady’s food and used some foul language describing this fed up customer, to her fellow colleagues- language myself and my friend did not want our children to hear! Maybe be mindful that tables close to the kitchen, can hear!!! The building is in definite need of a refurb also…very run down!

Disgusting and cold. I don't know where to start well mens toilet radiator black with dirt and rusty in the disabled toilet sink wobbling on the wall when tap gets used and paint need redoing as different patches of paint on the wall. Wallpaper hanging off the wall by our table Was passed a glass of coke and glass was dirty. Building was freezing cold sat there in our coats and when made a comment to a waitress was told its a big building to get warm but helps if radiators are turned on. Had a cajan chicken meal and just as well not mention the seasoning as didn't taste of anything.
