Black Bull in Kirklees

We had a lovely evening here. Upon arrival the pub was clean and welcoming. Myself, my mother and my daughter came and the staff were so lovely and assertive. The food was really nice, we came in here as we were visiting the area and we would definitely come again.

Extremely pleasant staff Ashleigh and Kyle. Good food decent pint . Been here often for lunch and would recommend it to others

Went into the black bull for my nephews 1st birthday and they was a huge party of us! Can’t explain enough at how the staff were so accommodating and helped with anything we needed! The two staff members were ash and Amber and can’t talk enough about them! I will be absolutely coming back the food was amazing came out really quick to say they was loads of us and had nothing but compliments off everyone saying how nice it was!!! Thankyou so much!!! Had a great time at The Black Bull recently! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening. The food was fantastic, with lots of tasty options to choose from. What made it even better was the staff – they were super friendly, easy to talk to, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit. Absolutely brilliant food and service. Came for a 14th birthday meal and there was 14 of us and they went above and beyond. They even went to the shop for candles. The food was perfect and couldnt of asked for more. Nothing was too much to ask for and food was all brought out together and nothing wrong either.

We drove past this pub while in the area as we don't live near here. It looked nice so we went in for lunch and I'm so glad we did! Very accommodating as we had our babies pushchair with us so made sure we had enough room etc. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely, Quick service and very friendly staff. Really Ace staff - Toni- Amber and Ash. Food was excellent too. Normally go for Mains, but had the full suite today. Starter, Main and crumble with custard to finish. What went wrong today..told at 2pm sunday lunch sold out, then told chef rung in sick. Over an hour wait for food ,Mr attitude behind the bar, then fight in pub car park....come on guys your better than this.

I was sad to say that we will not be returning. We waited an hour and a half for our food. We asked from one hour wait how long the food would be, to be told we were next every time (which even when busy is a long time especially as we had very young children with us). The lady said our food was next, we were brought meals that were not ours numerous times. When asking a second time how long the wait would be the gentleman was quite rude to us. We at least asked if we could have the children’s meals as they had waited very patiently and had started to get very hungry at this point. The children’s meals arrived on boiling hot plates ….. the meals were okay but not worth the wait. The children’s desserts which they brought out were wrong but this was very quickly rectified. Sadly will not be visiting again. Myself and my husband used to visit here a lot but will not be back in future.

Amazing pub with amazing staff. I have been here a few times and every time I’m served with a heart warming smile and family like greeting 10/10 would recommend to anyone for either food and just a quote few drinks.

A few weeks before Christmas, I booked a table for 8 for a Christmas night out. On arrival we faced on onslaught of bad planning and bad luck. The table hadn’t been reserved, the chef was in a&e, a staff member was stuck on the motorway and basically they had no food. Including steaks, even though it was ‘steak night’ Eventually we left, hungry and disappointed and separately made our way to our local kfc/McDonald’s/supermarket. On the plus side, our drinks were reimbursed and Ashleigh gave us a £25 voucher with her apologies. These things happen. So we rebooked, this time for 6 people, in April and for an afternoon. When we arrived we were informed there was no ciabatta and no bacon. Which caused two people to have to change their order. Then we were told that actually there was only 3 steaks. So someone else had to change their order. 50% of the people present didn’t get the food that they’d gone for. Again, the staff were apologetic and reimbursed our round of diet cokes. But considering that it wasn’t Christmas, all the staff were there, our booking was processed, I assume the chef was healthy, and it was once again ‘steak night’ I felt let down. So, I left my phone number for Ashleigh to ring so I could let her know that once again, we were disappointed. But she never called. So I’ve left a review

Treated my mother to her 65th birthday here where we were feted by Kyle & Kev whose communication skills are a great addition to the superb food that they serve!

Been a regular at the Black Bull for about 6 months and have always had a lovely welcome by the team. Ashleigh and Kev have turned the place around and made it a welcoming establishment, their hard work and effort is mirrored by the staff, especially Ellis who memorised my drink order and has it ready by the time I get to the bar Thoroughly enjoy the pub and the great atmosphere and look forward to the beer garden in the summer months Thanks for the welcome :)

The Black Bull is our local and we regularly go in for drinks and food. 80th birthday party for my mother. Absolutely excellent service, the best ever. Cannot fault the staff, you couldn’t ask for better, they’re definitely a credit to the business . They're exceptional. Fabulous friendly pub in the heart of Lindley, 3-4 miles from the centre of Huddersfield. We’ve visited twice in the last few weeks & both times the food and service has been exceptional. The chicken Katsu curry is delicious & my husband enjoyed this on both occasions. I’ve had the tasty hunter’s chicken & today the lasagna. Both meals excellent value, on the 2 for £14.99 - a great saving. We were wonderfully served today by Danny, Josh, Kyle and Lewis - thanks for making the visit fuss free. We’ll certainly visit again soon. We can all highly recommend the Black Bull ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As the warm weather is taking a toll on me I stopped off at the back bull for a drink, I sat outside under the umbrellas, I orded on the app and the table service was amazing, I had a lovely conversation with Ellis the first time I opened and the second time i ordere a drink I had toni who brought it out who was lovely. I hope this is the Black Bull that we visited ! You know from the outside it looked rather scruffy with lots of messy signage. However experience has taught me not to judge a book by its cover. It was a very hot Saturday and we were hungry and thirsty. A great warm welcome from Ellis and a cool drink. Great. The interior is 1950 Olde Worlde, looks like that was the last time it had a makeover. But everything was nice, clean and comfortable including the Gents. I didn’t try the latter for comfort. There’s a good menu with something for everyone, it’s like a Toby pub but owned by Greene King. We both had the Chicken pie with mash and chips respectively. Fresh veg as well but beware of the broccoli. It was AL DENTE , like trying to eat fibre glass. My friend who has teeth like a shark, gave me his, which was a non starter. Even my knife wouldn’t touch it. Our waiter Ellis, bless his heart, asked if we would like to have some peas. Needless to say we managed to eat these. All in all a good visit, nothing fancy but better than many that may be smarter but cost much more. Hopefully the broccoli has been sent to a museum or used in some foundations somewhere.

I attended on Saturday, I didn’t book however I was seated straight away. I ordered via the Order and Pay app as the host recommended. The drinks came in a couple of minutes. I ordered my food, it came within half an hour and was delicious. The atmosphere was good and the measures the staff were taking to prevent COVID-19 was brilliant. Will definitely be returning. This is our local pub and we decided to go for breakfast. And not only am I a tricky gluten free person but I’ve also decided to go a bit vegetarian when I can (David Attenborough has got to me!) We were greeted by a bright and positive staff member called Sarah who politely assured us of the covid safety measures and directed us to our table. All the staff were lovely and made accommodation to our little dog we bought along too which was a bonus Because it wasn’t to busy decided to pick Sarah’s brain about what’s gluten free and what’s not, to which she was more than up for the questions ! She was very informative, had an iPad for guidance so assure everything I asked was backed up (and no dreaded food allergies folder !) she also asked the chef as a double check. I had a veggie breakfast - unfortunately no gluten free Quorn sausages (however, to be expected) but the hash browns and bread and butter were when asked ! (What a treat!). My partner had Pancakes and bacon which he also said were super nice.Overall really positive vibes from this pub and we will feel assured to return for breakfast again. The pub also offers a app for table service menus for for lunch and evening meals and that has a section for ‘non gluten containing ingredients’ which is helpful (Greenking app). I also believe there are some GF beers when I last went for a social ! Came for some food and to do the quiz. Had a great time, there were plenty of veggie options and the service was brilliant. Felt very safe in comparison to other places I’ve been thanks to the extra Covid measures.

A friend recommended Black Bull, I came in with my partner and I was shocked. There is someone to great you and explain all the measures they have in place. They have someone there specifically to wipe down surfaces, touch points. Food was delicious and staff were friendly Keep up the good work
