Not really sure if this is a pub, bar or restaurant. Seems to all be going on at once. Staff were really attentive, polite & chatty, that's definitely the big positive! We both had starters & a main with a pint each. Was quite shocked when the bill came to £85, included a £7.50 service charge. I paid because the staff were the positive.

Top bar with amazing cocktails. However, not sure what type of bar it is. Didn’t eat here but had great drinks. But at one point it’s dinners only and then all of a sudden it becomes a city cocktail bar. However it isn’t large enough to cater for both. Decent place over all.

Went here for drinks in November 2023 and again in April 2024 on our holidays. The drinks are of high standard, as are the staff. They are attentitive to detail with cocktails and shots. The atmosphere is lively compared to other places in town. A quick nod to Dave the waiter who dropped us off in November back at the Golf & Spa Hotel when we couldn't get a taxi. Thanks again. Will definitely return on our next holiday!

I don’t like giving negative comments but I can only be truthful. My wife and I called in for lunch following the reopening of indoor service. We were really looking forward to going back - as we’d been before and enjoyed it.To begin with, the staff were spot on - as previous! My wife ordered the soup and I ordered a burger. Unfortunately, after shortly tucking in to the said burger. It wasn’t cooked fully, so I asked for it to be cooked further - which was done without question. It was returned and I tucked in. However, there was just something about the taste which just didn’t seem quite right - but still plowed on. We’d had a busy day, and were in bed by 9.30 pm. It was at 11.30pm when I woke and was sweating profusely. I realised I was in trouble, and without going into detail, I had the most terrible upset stomach. In hindsight, I wish I’d just returned it and switched to another dish. My burger was unquestionably the cause as I’d eaten nothing at all that would cause this.I will go back but maybe not to eat a burger!!

Ate here on a Friday evening, chain at the door stopping people coming in, screen between tables that were too small so not sure why bother? Ordered a starter and a main (food was ok) when we had finished the main course we asked the waitress for another drink and said we needed 10 mins before we looked at desert. She returned to the table and said we could only order a drink if there was a food order, which was strange because we had just eaten 2 courses and were having a break before dessert! We decided not to bother, the Manager came over and said he wished he could serve us but it was the rules. I understand that rules are rules but at least get the Staff to explain this when ordering, there were a couple of Lawyers on the next table who said, we should have just left a few chips and said we hadn't finished, apparently that's ok.It was a real shame, especially as we went to the Blue Boar the following evening who had all the COVID procedures in place, everyone well spaced out and no pressure to order food when ordering a drink between courses. A totally different experience, following the same rules just with some common sense applied (surely If I say can we have a 10 minute break, I'm signalling that we haven't finished?

There are two types of pubs in the Cotswolds, those who target the tourist trade, and those where locals go and tourists are welcome. B+T is definitely the latter. A pub enjoyed by locals and offers a welcome to visitors alike.I've been to B+T a lot lately, for breakfast, whiling away an afternoon meeting friends over a bottle of wine, to an evening meal and cocktails. All first class. The pub has introduced a one way system inside to create space. When you arrive you are met at the door, taken to your table where table service is provided. I can't fault the service or food and drink I purchased.I highly recommend the B+T breakfast.

We had an overnight stop on our way north in Chipping Norton and booked B&T purely based on the number of veggie options on the menu. The staff were extremely friendly. it was our first meal out since restaurants and bars have opened and it felt very safe and well organised. The pescatarian menu choices were so appealing that we ordered 4 of the starters and adapted a main course and shared it all 'tapas style between us. Not one of the dishes was disappointing. We had a couple of hours' slot and because the service was so good we didn't feel at all rushed. It was a very pleasant meal and experience.

Had an enjoyable family evening at Bitter and Twisted to celebrate my daughters 19th birthday, more for the company than the venue. Was great to be able to eat out after such a long lock down. We are v difficult as all vegan and some gluten free but we all found something to eat, albeit limited choice. Food tasty if simple only issue was over zealous waiting staff who insisted on ID for my 19 year old daughter to have a glass of Prosecco. The law is clear that you need only be 16 to have a drink with your parents while having dinner. We offered a soft copy of her passport but the waitress refused to even look, v poor customer service and ultimately cost the bar the £30 we were about to spend on the bottle.

We stayed in Chipping Norton for a couple of nights last week and we always like to try different places to eat. After looking around the village we decided on this pub. Good choice. The menu is varied and the food was great. I had half roast chicken which was the biggest I’ve ever had (and I often have this at eateries). I was told it would take about 25 mins which I don’t mind waiting when they tell you in advance. It was worth waiting for, it was delicious. My husband had the scampi and that was good to, in fact I’ve never seen a scampi meal with so much on as usually you only get about 6 pieces of scampi on a plate! Also the staff were lovely which made it a very enjoyable evening. I would recommend anyone giving it a try if in the area.

I love the atmosphere and the cocktail menu. Food is ok, sometimes better than ok, and always reasonably priced. I have always been served courteously and promptly, whether as a couple, family or group of friends. A really lovely cocktail menu means that even if we are eating elsewhere, I am tempted to pop in here first and sometimes even afterwards as well. It’s two minutes walk from the delightful Chipping Norton theatre so it would almost be rude not to... the creamy cocktails are better than any dessert in my opinion! My husband and I were having a few days away from home visiting the Cotswolds and we found the restaurant by chance. We ate here on what we thought would be a quiet Monday night but the restaurant was very busy with pre theatre diners and there was a lovely cheerful atmosphere. My sea bass fillets with char grilled broccoli were cooked perfectly and my husband tucked into a very large portion of carbonara with plenty of smoked bacon. The two staff on duty coped very well with the number of diners and always looked like they were in control and not stressed. Around 7.30 the restaurant all but emptied and we decided to stay for dessert. The warm chocolate brownie with ice cream finished off the evening very nicely. Top marks to the chef for our marvellous meal and ten out of ten for the excellent customer service provided by the young waiter and waitress who were on duty that evening. We would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant to friends and family and we hope to return in the near future.

We stopped here for a light lunch, ideally a sandwich or small snack. The outside appearance is inviting, and inside a lot of care has obviously been taken to modernise. Our only criticism is the overwhelming prevalence of high tables, benches and stools - not to easy to get onto. Have been meaning to leave this place a review because they ticked all the boxes on a chance visit, and I can't recommend them enough. Loved the food and the service - nothing was too much trouble. The best Vegetarian menu I've seen EVER - these people go above and beyond and I will be back for the amazing pasta!

Visited for a quick lunch and enjoyed the vast amount of choice on the menu. As a coeliac I felt normal when ordering my food for once. The portions were large and the food was lovely! Was very busy but staff made us feel comfortable and welcome! Would recommend to anyone.

On the way home from a weekend in the Cotswolds, stopped here for breakfast. What fantastic value, very reasonable size English breakfast for £5.00, freshly cooked, it was delicious, such good value considering what we had spent elsewhere. Lovely clean bar and seating areas. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic little find in the centre of Chipping Norton. Food is fantastic, staff are amazing and super friendly and they have a great selection of wine. I also love their little mac and cheese bites.

Really liked this place, the food is simple - not fancy just standard grub. The cocktails are amazing, a good selection and really well priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely come back.

After a trip to chipping Norton we decided to get some food, but being a Friday night everywhere was very busy, we stopped by bitter and twisted and even though they were very busy said they could fit us in. Ordered and food arrived promptly and all cooked amazingly. Very impressed with the service as you could see they were busy but didn't rush us and were very helpful and polite.

Can’t comment on the food because we didn’t eat here but I was impressed with the cocktail menu, so many to choose from. Had a passion fruit martini which was delicious! Would definitely return for drinks

Mały lokalny pub w centrum. Jedzenie w wielu opcjach i wariantach. Dość ciasno ale jest szansa na prywatną rozmowe. Dobry burger. Obsługa stosunkowo miła.

We were surprised how busy this place was for a wed at five. However the service was still quick and staff took the time to help. The main menu had all gluten free options clearly marked, however they were not marked on the specials menu, but the waiter was able to quickly check that the dish was gluten free or adaptable. Both enjoyed our meals, I was unable to finish mine as the portion was generous. The other half had no problem finishing his off.

We visited Bitter and Twisted on Easter Monday in glorious weather. We sat in the rear courtyard and enjoyed a superb lunch. The vegetarian choices were excellent and innovative. Accompanied by excellent wine and friendly service this was a lovely experience. Highly recommended.

Three phone conversations with the hotel management eventually confirmed that a Sunday roast could be obtained in the Terrace resturant. A table for 7 was booked and confirmed. On arrival the Terrace resturant was set up for a wedding ceremony. No other dining tables were apparent. On querying this with bar staff we were abruptly told "not our problem".Eventually found a deputy manager who set about laying up a dining table amongst the wedding guests ! Meanwhile we tried other local venues but couldn't get in within our timescale. We eventually sat for our anticipated Sunday lunch in a crowded golf club bar surrounded by a multitude of wedding guests. The food was obviously recently pulled out of the freezer, looked and tasted same ! HOPELESS !!We recommend training for front of house management in the art of coordination and courtesy for members of the bar staff.

When a business contact of mine from London told me he would be visiting Witney, of course I wanted to meet up with him. But also I wanted to impress him and show him the best that Witney ha to offer. When I booked dinner at The Three Horseshoes I was confident that my contact would have a great evening, and it was absolutely the right choice. As soon as he arrived he commented on how amazing the pub was, and how he loved the atmosphere and the log burner too. Our dinner was fantastic and even though the place was busy, the speed or service and the attentiveness of the team was brilliant. They were there when we needed them, and left us to get on with our business conversation the rest of the time. For impressing a really important contact from London - The Three Horseshoes was exactly the right choice and what is SO brilliant is that it is also the perfect choice for a quiet pint or to meet up with friends too.

It isn’t that often I visit The Windmill, but I know the place well enough to know something is very different. There was a different aura in the air today. I didn’t recognise any of the staff members, and whilst they seemed like a large family, they were all unique and discombobulated in their own ways. I must start with some high praise - we were greeted very kindly by a lovely tall Irish lady with a beaming smile. Whilst very busy, she was also very accompanying and allowed us to buy a few of their home-made pint glasses (which she said she wasn’t supposed to do). Hats off to her for the hospitality. Sadly things took a slight turn for the worse whilst we were seated. It was only myself and my partner ordering some pub grub, however, after a brief conversation with the waiter it was quickly apparent that some kind of knowledge barrier prevented us from ordering exactly what we wanted. I have a suspicion this older gentleman was a distinguished chef from years gone by, because there wasn’t a single word I understood in his recommendations. Embarrassingly, we decided to opt for a few beers at the bar before ordering food instead. I must admit, that was a saving grace, for their homemade beer ‘Hawkstone’ was divine. The bartender was full of dry wit which added to a great atmosphere amongst the other guests. He has that familiar family friendly humour, like you wouldn’t be surprised to see him on TV! Not only was the beer exceptional in quality, the slight intoxication seemed to clear up some of the brain fog I was experiencing earlier, since the waiter suddenly seemed to made a lot more sense! So, we finally ordered our meal and enjoyed some local produce - again, simply divine. Despite the great tastes and atmosphere, I couldn’t help but feel the service was jeopardised by the initial language barrier. As such, I did ask the waiter if we could remove our service charge. I should add, this was a new waiter at the time, a dreary English chap who wasn’t impressed with our request. Whilst his thorough and detailed lecture around why a service charge holds such an important role in the overarching finance of the food industry, I tried to hold my ground and get this removed from the bill. It was only after we realised my partner had been asleep for 8 minutes that we sped things up, paid the bill with a 50/50 compromise on the service charge, and got ourselves out of there. All in all, I’d recommend the establishment because, despite some teething problems and unorthodox scenarios, the people are genuine and the food/drink is exceptional. Just keep an eye out for those tractors (given the rural area) - a young man with curly blonde hair had completely blocked my car in so we had to wait half an hour to leave!

Issues with the meal potatoes were terrible and Eton mess was not roast great at all. Second time we have been here and still we would only give the meal 5 out of ten

Good lunch selection. Very nice salads and a good choice of panini. It’s not very clear when you go in what to do if you want to sit inside to eat as all the boards are headed up as takeaway menus. The seating area is really just there to eat the takeaway - so order what you’d like and then take it through to eat. It might be good to make this clearer for customers especially when it’s busy. Overall though the food and coffee were delicious so well worth a lunch stop.
