I worked at this place for almost 6 months I worked crazy hours worked like crazy because they couldn’t keep there staff because of the way they treated them After working here I will gladly say I’ll never be eating there I worked in the kitchen and on the busiest days they had ran out of chicken and all we had was out of date chicken we were told to serve this when it has been 2 days or even 3 days out of date I left in November because I was treated like rubbish by the previous manager who worked there and the business had problems with paying there staff I am still waiting on the money they owe me I keep going in every so often to ask what’s going on and if it’s getting sorted I get told it is but it never seems to take affect Despite my dedication to the role and the efforts to perform my duties to the best of my ability, I was met with hostility and unprofessional behaviour from those in positions of authority. This place is revolting, had chicken strips which tasted as though they had been put in a vat of oil that was weeks old. The chips were just as bad, like they had been recooked a couple of times. My daughter didn’t like hers either and turned down the ice cream sundae which was offered! I can only liken this place to somewhere you would visit at 2am at the end of a night out and you just need food. Unfortunately I recommend you steer clear!

We hadn’t heard of this place but were in Eastbourne to do some shopping and having viewed the menu we chose Birdhaus for lunch. We were a bit concerned as we were the only customers but fortunately everything was good. Our wraps and burgers were delicious, the chips were piping hot and crispy on the outside, and the young lady serving us was friendly and helpful. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews but I can only speak as I find and say that I would happily visit Birdhaus again.

Joel was absolutely amazing. So welcoming and always smiling. He made sure we were okay at all times and said goodbye to every customer. The food was so lovely and filling. It was all good pricing too. So fresh and fast.

Shocking food hygiene. Young staff with little direction, one of the kitchen staff visible not wearing gloves and scratching his head and picking his ear before then preparing food. Dirty tables, and very slow service. Awful.

The service was very poor with the place being run by kids with no interest in their job. The food was nothing short of disgusting.

I visited your restaurant on the 14 th February we ordered our food at 13:02. The young lady who took our order was very nice and had not long been working for you.(apologized that she was a little slow) which was nice. Sat down and waited and waited, other people who came in after us already eating their food. A young man came over to confirm our order apparently the food that was waiting was for a table with no one sat at. This was now 1:40 so up until that we had no drinks, so I asked if we could have our drinks while we waited the young man walked away and came back to tell us they had no tea or strawberry milkshakes by this point we had waited quite a while to have food or our drinks. I then asked for a refund which he gave us and went next door to another restaurant. While we were waiting we saw that the young man turning away people (20 in total we counted) saying we are not taking any orders at the moment, not a way to run a business. There was only two serving and one cooking on a school holiday and valentine's day. And surely your staff must check what supplies they have before opening for business each day. Will not visit again.

Please only rely on the negative reviews. Utter shambles. Run by a very young team front of house lacking any leadership. Eventually got to the till and in fairness the young lady who took the order was the only good thing about the whole experience. Waited an eternity to receive drinks first then food. Food ok but not smash burgers as stated on the menu and when asking for ketchup told had not got any . Sainsbury's is a short walk away !!! Cannot c how this place is still open. Such a shame.

This was really good food i enjoyed it very much had a beef burger and cajun fries very friendly staff and good portions will definitely come back

Greasy reheated food with cold fries and no hot drinks, batter on the chicken was a very odd colour and tasted like the oil had not been changed for ages. The chicken was obviously reheated or had been under a heat lamp for ages so it tasted awful.

We came in for the 2 for 1 offer, sat down as instructed, went up to order and.....they had run out of food!!!! Uh??? It was about 12.45! We ate elsewhere and passed by about 2.15 and they were serving again...very strange and disappointing!!!!

The food and service has been nothing but perfect, there seems to be people leaving negative reviews for the fun of it, After several visits we cannot find fault. Are these people even eating?

From arrival to food being delivered, we were made to feel welcome. When the food arrived all bets were off, it was out of this world. Perfectly cooked booked burger, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, tangy BBQ sauce. Fries to die for. Will be back again. This is an experience you should try.

Ordered 5 tenders meal, pretty good value at £10 considering a McDonald's equivalent would only be a couple of pounds less. I liked the sauce and crunchy coating on the tenders and had voucher to upgrade to loaded fries, tasty. Onions rings with nice crunchy batter, they could have been a little hotter when delivered. Girlfriend said wrap was filling but would choose BBQ version if ordering again for more flavour. They have some very good value midweek deals where you can get bogof on burger meals. Would visit again

Ordered lunch through Deliveroo. Ordered two meal deals, nachos and strips. Arrived late, food was cold. Missing both drinks and both portions of fries. No number available to contact restaurant to make them aware.

After the Eastbourne airshow, we decided to go to Nando’s in the Beacon shopping centre. As there was a queue, we saw the Bird Haus opposite which was empty. As we had never heard of them before, we thought we would give them a try. We were the only ones in there and now I know why! I ordered a chicken fillet burger and chips and my partner had chicken strips and chips. My chicken fillet was dry as a bone and like a piece of leather, so much so, that I literally couldn’t get my teeth into it. It had obviously been sitting there all day and had just been warmed up. My partners strips were slightly warmer and had a bit more edible chicken. The chips were rock hard. We decided not to eat the meal and leave. On leaving, I told the lady on the desk and she merely said ‘sorry I will mention it’. We were starving as we hadn’t eaten all day and wanted to eat before getting the train home to Croydon so we ended up in McDonald’s. What a waste of money!!

Nightmare. Order taken incorrectly. Front of house staff chew gum throughout service. Arrived before 12 noon, ordered food and drinks from menu. Wrong drinks order arrived first. No food after 45mins, asked front of house how much longer. Two of 5 mains arrived 15 mins later, no starters despite them being ordered. One meal cold chips and cold burger, the vegan option that arrived was chicken on an egg washed bap despite being told no vegan baps and having ordered wraps! Some of the chips had old ketchup on them, doesn't bear thinking about how that can happen. Had to get own knives and forks, no ketchup available apart from a 1cm remnant in the only bottle. Trays empty so no salt etc. Returned cold food, returned the vegans chicken burger to the kitchen. Front of house lost part of our order and we're unsure what we were waiting on. 1 hour and 15 min no food, no sign of any food. Asked for a refund. Told that a refund needs the manager who was downstairs in a sister restaurant. Went down to sister restaurant to meet the manager. No apology but I was accused of being aggressive because I was unhappy. I tried to show the manager the problems but he was not interested he just kept saying its alright. Dreadful place, dreadful service, what little food we got was inedible, cold and less than a quarter of our order. Will not be returning, ever.

This was disappointing. Service was poor. We had to ask for serviettes and yes the toilets are dreadful. No toilet paper or towels. Food arrived a little too quickly and was ok. Music too loud and drinks making machine too loud. Chairs uncomfortable. Definitely won’t visit again.

The service is rubbish, food is not great The lettuce was brown and looked about a week old, the prawns were so over cooked it would of bounced of the floor, My advice is go somewhere else!

Ate here with my husband and toddler. One of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had (the Seoul burger) and I can’t believe the value for money. Lovely atmosphere with good music too. Cant recommend it enough!
