Came 5.30pm Saturday so no one was there. Ordered two sausage battered and large chips. Was shocked by price but hadn’t been in a while. Sausage in batterer were ok but chip were disgusting. We’re cold, hard and no potato in them. I Live on same road as shop so no reason for any of this. Think owner was the one cooking.

Thank you the amazing team at Deep Blue, I arrived on a cold wet night on the way home from work late On Thursday. They cooked me some really lovely Haddock and chips. Fish and chips are always good and fantastic team. A big thank you.

Below standard Fish and Chips . chips were especially poor soggy had been cooked and left reheating. Highly prices than normal. service was offhand. we would not return here

The very friendly staff member was very quick and professional and the food was Great!!! This is by far one of the best fast food restaurants I’ve ever been to and has become my regular restaurant.

Having lived in Cobham for over 15 years I have often visited this fish and chip shop and its my pleasure to say that it seems to have turned a corner. Its always been an acceptable place to get a last minute bite to eat but recently it's been a go to for, me and my partner. Such a lovely group of people now and the food is amazing.

This was terrible. The chips were horrible and soggy. The fish seemed to have been pre cooked and reheated. Also not cheap. For us this was a fish and chip shop one of the worst we have been to for a takeaway

Cobham Bowling Club were having a social evening and placed a Bulk order at Deep Blue for Fish and Chips etc. which we had to collect. The order was completely correctly, but when approximately 25 boxes arrived the standard and quality were below average especially the chips. Prices were a shade higher than expected. It did serve its purpose as bulk orders are usually more difficult and difficult to keep hot. However as an individual I would not have fish and chips from here again.

I’m visiting the area. Really fancy some fish and chips after a long day out in chessington with 3 kids. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Offer me forks and plates as I really needed it to eat my dinner in the hotel. Fish were fresh and sausages and chips are good with the curry sauce. Portion are good, enough to feed the family. Definitely will visit again when next visits.

Chips that were undercooked ,pale hard in centre,Freaky,tiny triangle of fish a lot of batter…won’t return.

Pretty average chippy really. Vegetarian options non-existent bar cheesy chips. No vegetarian pies available. When will chippies start doing battered banana blossom? (it's a lot like fish)

Probably the worst local chippy. The fish is poorly cooked and the chips hard and over fried. Also expensive by local standards.

As someone who grew up in Scotland, we like our fish skinless. When I placed my "Just Eat" order, I requested it to be skinless. I got a call saying they could not do that- policy of the new management, apparently. It is not difficult to cut the skin off a fish before cooking..... When I came to eat the food, the skin ruined the experience as I lost out on the batter on one side of the haddock. In addition, the chips were slightly undercooked, so were somewhat soggy. Overall a disappointing experience. I won't be back.

I used to eat here more often before Cobham Fish Bar opened. The sausages are lovely - the best I've had locally. I've also had burgers which are OK. The chips are sadly very hit and miss and often not up to standard, they will have an after taste, often be too pale / under done and just not quite right. I've had a few incidents with some of the older counter staff but the younger ones all tend to be pretty decent, the people cooking also seem to be decent enough. I've seen a few staff arguments in there. For the quality vs other local places, I think it is too expensive.

Went to pick up lunch for my mother in law. She loves the food from them. They always accommodate to her allergy needs. Great service and had a nice friendly chat with the manager on duty. Top stars👍🏻

This used to be an excellent fish & chip restaurant when it was run by other people, but I ordered a takeaway online from them tonight, and I could not have been more disappointed.The website said it was "being prepared" and would be ready at a certain time. When I arrived the staff ignored me, and then started to serve other walk-in customers. I could forgive that, but when I did attract their attention it transpired that the food was not prepared specially; they just put the order together, while I waited, in the same way they would for a walk-in customer.To cap it all, the food was just dreadful. The fish was well below average, and the chips were unbelievably bad. They were small, misshapen, and of incredibly poor quality. They were also pretty cold. I had ordered salt and vinegar, but these were forgotten. Of course, I had some at home, so not the end of the world, but that is not what it's all about when you pay high prices for what you hope will be a treat. I am a very unhappy customer, and consequently will not be returning.

I would just like to say what a lovely friendly place to go with delicious food. The young girl Lily has excellent customer service skills and I’m glad she is back. The manager, team leader and others are also great too. Highly recommended

We used to look forward to the occasional take away from this shop, when visiting from Switzerland, it was always delicious when fish was sold under the “Big Fry” name. Nowadays the fish & chips are mediocre at best. The fish batter is pale, insipid and undercooked and the chips are pretty tasteless. Service is mediocre and if there was another fish shop nearby we definitely would not use Deep Blue again.

I had a large cod and chips from this place last night and it was £9.30! £7.10 for the cod. It was nice but not that large and the chips were ok but a bit cold. It might be just me but I think this pricing is a complete rip off. Maybe there’s enough people in Cobham prepared to pay these prices but I’m not one of them.

I have eaten in many fish n chip shops around the U.K. and the quality of the food in this one was outstanding quite probably the best I have ever eaten - I would absolutely recommend a visit

Simply ordered 2 portions of chips and after waiting 15 minutes, and then seeing other people get their food first who had ordered after me I asked where mine where and got a very abrupt and rude response from the girl behind the counter. Upon this she promptly slammed two bags of chips on the counter with such force I thought the counter was going to collapse. When I opened the chips at home (2 minutes away) they were soggy and didn't look very appealing. We put some onto plates to accompany our dinner as were all very hungry and within a few chips found that I had reached the vast majority of under cooked ones. Really disappointed with the quality, the quantity for the price and especially the service received. Wouldn't recommend and certainly will not use again.

Since they have changed hands to Deep Blue they have up the prices and serve very small portions. 4 standard cod and 2 large chips for £30. I will not be going back ever.

I go to this chip shop often as it is my local chip shop and has been fantastic. However today I ordered battered sausage and large potion of chips. When I received it I noticed the portion of chips was very small compared to when I usually get them. I questioned and he said it is large. I left and when I got home I noticed the chips where really manky and soggy. I took them back and asked for the manger to at which point I asked for a refund and he seemed to be pissed off about it. I had to go to another chip shop and I'm really disappointed with they way they serve their food and their attitude.

Best Fish and Chips I've ever eaten. Scampi was unbelievably good, staff were pleasant and food is cooked to order. What else could you wish for?

The fish was dry, the chips were bitty and dry too. Used to be so good when it was Big Fry. Not returning as there are better places to go to.

Fish and chips shop do what fish and chips shops do. There are certainly good enough and have been around for quite a long time so the local obviously likes it? I have only been there a few times, they are friendly enough but don't expect too much?

Fast, clean and great tasting fish and chips every time. The food is never greasy, the batter compliments the fish rather than completely taking over and the jumbo cod lives up to its name!

We have all had fish and chips as a take-away, but this fish and chips is excellent. The use regularly clean fat so nasty smell and the chips, usually, are good size and well cooked. IKf you don't want fish and chips they have a wide selection of other foods.

I have been using this "Chippy" for many years now, although I have to admit I have on occasions tried others in the area but always return to Big Fry Cobham. The service is second to none and the quality is up their with the best. Value is really competitive and out shines new outlets that have recently opened in all departments. Everything is cooked from scratch in full view and served accurately and efficiently by the staff. Great favorite for my Thursday night Jumbo cod and chips treat.

I think this fish and chip shop has definitely got it right. I use them at least twice a month, the quality of the food never faulters. The staff are always helpful and courteous. The actual shop is spotless, exactly what you would expect from a food seller.

I was pleased to have a chip shop so local but was very disappointed by the behaviour of some of the staff. I went late on a Friday night and was served by a young man who proceeded to make "racist in jokes" about me to another young man who was cleaning up. They must've thought I couldn't understand what they were saying because I don't look English. Had I been ordering the food for myself I would've walked out but it was for an elderly English neighbour. This establishment demands that you pay for your order before it is prepared so that you are hostage to whatever bad service they feel is appropriate. I do not recommend the food the batter is stodgy and the chips are soggy instead of being crispy. There is another, better chip shop at the other end of Cobham near the train Stan .

They mostly prepare food to order. The fish is also cooked perfectly with light and clear batter. Chips are excellent too

I would defiantly say that this is one of the better fish and chip shops around. They are very popular and can get busy. They are normally very efficient (only had the odd occasion where they have put salt and vinegar on when we said no thanks etc). I think they do gluten free nights, which is good and offer deals for the elderly as well as service men and women.

This is my local fish and chip shop and while we have tried others, we alway come back to the Big Fry. Staff are very friendly, Fish batter is always crisp and rarely has a oily after-taste. Scampi is pretty good too. Fridays, as one would expect tends to be very busy though its much quieter on other days. This is a good, honest chippy who serve large portions. Never had a bad meal

The Big Fry fish and chip shop is a nice area to get a quick bite to eat in a car if ever you pass it. The food is good (especially the mushy peas)

Went there today after having been let down with atrocious service at Cote in Cobham. Bought some fish and chips and took them home to eat.

Sorry but never been happy with our local fish and chip takeaway and even though this has changed management, they still make the same mistake of either buying cheap potatoes or use old or bad oil (probably don't change it that often). I wish we had a decent takeaway as they are missing a trick. Why cant they also offer better pies? it is always the same, stodgy dough type. My daughter was sick after she had a chicken pie and we never went there again.

The fish is always freshly cooked in front of you with plenty of options. Other meals are available apart from fish. Staff very friendly and unlike the rest of Cobham the prices are far from extortionate.

I went in on Saturday, they were very busy but the service was A class and the fish was fantastic and tasted very fresh, it is what it is a great fish and chips! Not trying to be so pretentious like the other one in cobham. Keep up the good work

We have used this several times and each time the fish is delicious and the chips are always the same, soggy, limp and tasteless. Please improve the chips as I love your fish, but I am not giving more than 3 stars when half my meal is not good.

Just love big fry. Nice staff,food all ways fast and yummy. This is the only take away I go to in Cobham!. Sometimes simple fish and chips is all you need.

I have been to this fish and chip shop for many years, even before I found out I had ceoliac, which is a added bonus as they offer gf every Monday night.. I am always left stuffed to the brim from there gf cod and chips, which has this amazingly light but crispy batter, which for all you ceoliacs is a hard feat. The staff are always very friendly and efficient, with no worry of cross contamination as they use separate utencils. I have also visited there other store in egham, and have had the exact same quality of food and service. Will continue to go on a regular basis, and thank you so much for introducing Gluten free Monday's so both the ceoliacs and wheat eaters in our house can have fish and chips at the same time..

So we ask for large cod and chips and get given small! Apparently the member of staff misheard! When I ask the supposed owner 'Richard' for the order to be made large as per our request he says no as he cant resell the one already cooking! Terrible. Chips dry and very few. Cod ok.

This is a really difficult one to write - what can I say? Had my second takeaway from here in two weeks. BOTH times the Rock was cooked so SUPERBLY - THE best anywhere. So, why the 'average' rating? Basically - I have had Rock, at the least, 30-50% larger at many, many Fish and Chips venues I have been to. Such a shame - I'd urge the owners to - please - increase the size. The onion rings - great. The chips - first time 7/10 good. The second time - 3/10 - coldish, dry, and had clearly been 'waiting' for a buyer - for too long. I will finish on the positive - truly - best Rock I have ever had !!!!!

I've lived in cobham all my life and this is a failsafe takeaway. Never been disappointed. Highly recommended and far better value for money than anywhere else in Cobham

Having recently moved to Cobham i was very pleased to find a fish and chip shop that sells Gluten free. They really know their stuff about cross contamination and use separate equipment for everything, just a shame its only on a Monday not everyday !!

We stopped off in Cobham and fancied some fish and chips. We drove around and found the Big Fry. Fish was feshly cooked crispy batter and not greasy. Chips were good too. Portions sufficient but not too big. All round a good experience and we would recommend to others.

A rarity amongst the chain restaurants in most of the local area, a good value traditional chippie. And it has free parking available in front of the shop!

Staff here are a bit useless but it is the best chippy for miles, everything freshly cooked, big portions, crispy batter and not too greasy! Love it.
