Far and away the best place for a drink in St Ives. For beer connoisseurs it’s a dream. Great sound track, fab decor and expert service. The foods very good too. Don’t miss this place.

Massive selection of Belgian beers, served in a cool setting. We always come here for a couple of quiet cherry beers.

A rare find...must have walked past for years.

The drinks are ridiculously overpriced. £7-£8 for a pint, plus discretionary 12.5% service charge is just taking it too far. £20 for a 750ml bottle of Leffe?? It's a nice idea, attempting to imitate the European experience but it feels exploitative. This service is standard overseas for a fraction of the price, but is being upsold to the gullible folk in Cornwall and the atmosphere was far from organic.

Always welcoming, excellent food and of course Belgian Beers. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Love it.

Nice place with good beer. Food was okay but a little overpriced in my opinion. Be aware that they put on 12.5 % service charge on to the bill. I would rather they left it to the customer to decide how much the tip should be.

I never expected to find a Belgian Cafe in St Ives but what a lovely surprise. The inside décor is superb. The selection of beers are brilliant and the barman took the time to explain. The only thing that let it down was the food. A bit rushed. Definitely have no problems with giving it five stars and would return.

The Quay Notes were performing at this full on venue. Great service, all Beveridge and atmosphere superb. Place was buzzing and we made alot of friends. Everybody seemed to be having a great time.

What a great venue. Delicious food and a massive selection of the best beers you can get, Belgian. Don't forget to ask what's in the secret cellar off the menu. The best is the gouden carolus classic which is my favourite dark beer. Had tapas food and was great. Definitely recommend! Ate in the place twice in 3 days.

We got put on the worst table. It was literally a bedside cabinet in a corner half obscured by a wooden wall. Our dog was on the window seat with. 2 waiters took drinks order, food order, only to be told after 20 minutes later to move the dog. The table was so small and crushed up that I spilled my food on me. Overall an expensive cramped poor experience.

An absolute gem of a cafe. Excellent range of beers and great staff. Even came away with my birthday present.

Wonderful experience here on a holiday to St Ives, found ourselves returning a good few times. Delicious Belgian-style small plates, nice wine, and an excellent, interesting, and extensive selection of delicious Belgian beers. Staff were lovely too, and the venue was cool and spacious. A real gem.

A great selection of drinks and food, with excellent and knowledgeable service, helping you narrow down your choice of food and beer. There a great atmosphere here. The coffee is really good too, if you need to perk up after a few strong Belgian beers!

A total hidden gem for beer fans! Definitely worth visiting if you're nearby. The beer menu is enormous and there will be something for everyone. The venue itself is really cool and quirky, and the staff were all great.

Service was delightful, the food was delicious and full of flavour, the background music added to the nice atmosphere, the waitress who said she was from the Czech Republic deserves a big thank you from us, she was a lovely person and was very friendly and accommodating, giving us extra time to think when we needed it! Other staff were also very polite and helpful.

Had a really nice time here, from the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome and looked after, food was perfect and the drinks selection was amazing. Highly suggest getting a paddle and trying a few beers out.

Great beer, sadly the food didn’t match it, tapas style food, we had the chicken dippers which was raw at the end, staff apologised and it was taken off the bill, just hoping we saw it in time and no ill effects, generally the other bits were just ok, wouldn’t recommend eating here but the beer is spot on Beers 5 star Food 1 star

Very authentic Belgian bar. Vast choice of beer and other drinks, and good food too. Be prepared to surrender your shoe to the basket if you order a Kwak! Great alternative to all the big traditional boozers and posh wine bars that proliferate in St. Ives.

Wow. Great place for feed and/or a beer. Great selection of both. Croque monsieur was the best I've ever had - loaded with cheese, ham and bechemel sauce lacked on top! So friendly and attentive. Dog friendly.

My Wife and I visited today. What a great place. Belgian Beers and food all excellent. The music was superb too. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Superb!

Lovely surroundings, friendly staff, great beer but very disappointed with the mussels - over half the shells were empty and the ones I did find were really tiny. We gave our feedback and our bill was amended from the large portion price to the small portion price. Also, the starter special of corn fritters with guacamole (a thimble full) was very, very small. Perhaps a sign of the economic squeeze! 3 of us were disappointed with the mussels but the fourth loved her pulled pork.

We visited a few months ago for a sweet breakfast. Before the opening time there was people queuing up. Understandably! The interior inside was unique and comfy the atmosphere was great. The staff were also very quick pleasant and friendly.

Absolutely loved our visit here, great atmosphere and lovely food on a Belgian theme, great selection of food and beers. Staff very welcoming and knowledgeable regarding beers and food. Will certainly visit again as good value for the money.

A lovely ‘artfull’ place with a fantastic selection of Belgian Beers including a ‘secret cellar’ of beers not on the main menu. We only had drinks but the food looked to be a great mixture of small and larger plates of ‘Belgian’ specialities.

Great vibes, amazing (and strong!) beers, and wonderful service. The Biscoff waffles were delicious. The toilets were very clean. Would definitely come back

Authentic Belgian vibe made for a great place for a family lunch. Very friendly staff, welcomed the dog and brought a water bowl. Tasty food- moules frites, fish pie and extensive beer selection. We had beers that were on tap, and you can get a tasting selection of 3 lots of 1/3 pint. Great idea! Would recommend a visit.

Always a great place to go in St Ives. Amazing selection of beers and Genevas. We always go for the mussels they are fantastic, especially with the Thai style sauce! So filling, I never have room for a waffle!!

I feel obliged to give 5 stars as the food is great, as are the staff, and suspect we will continue to come every time we visit St Ives, however, there are a couple of aspects that are a little amiss. Firstly, it is expensive. All well and good if you have the spending money, but I am sure it is prohibitive to many. The food is excellent, especially the mussels (Thai style is our favourite). On short one week stays, we have chosen to go twice rather than visit other great places nearby. That being the case, I stray to the Tapas style Borrelhapjes. Really enjoy this, but the recommended 3 dishes mounts up to ~£21, being roughly the same as a large pot of mussels. On this visit I chose to drink one of the special beers, being ~£8 a pint. As I say, lovely if you can afford it. Another gripe is not having bread included in the price (if wanted) of the mussels. On previous visits, the bread has been several chunky slices of mixed fresh bread. This time it was two large chunks of white and brown, which were not that fresh. Somewhat dissapointing. Anyway, we will look forward to going again.

Great but let down by the most Belgian delicacy of all - frites with garlic mayonnaise. Instead it was cheap frozen fries with cheap mayonnaise. Use French mayonnaise at least! Otherwise good choice of small plates. Great selection of beers, obviously.

Loved Bier Huis Grand Cafe! The mussels were excellent, as were the Croquettes, and the beer selection - outstanding! The atmosphere is convivial - definitely Cafe culture feel. Only wierd thing was having to repeatedly ask for Mayonnaise for the frites!! Highly recommended!

Have been wanting to go or a while, great range of beers, food was really nice and the young lad who served use was excellent.

Excellent beers and food. The food we selected was the Belgian Beer and Bites. It was cooled to perfection served hot. It was really tasty and filling. The staff were excellent! Very helpful and attentive. Great selection of Belgian beers including the excellent 'Gouden carolus classic' 9%. Toilets were very clean. Highly recommend if you visit St Ives well worth a stop.

One of our favourite bars in St Ives, great atmosphere, staff friendly, good food, incredible beer.

This was our first time here and it was absolutely sensational. We came with our children and the staff were excellent with them. The food was fab, so tasty, and when I asked for advice on which bier to choose the waitress had excellent knowledge of them all and helped me choose a bier that was perfect for me. Will definitely come back and really recommend.

Its 6 pm & an unforgiving 28 degrees in a very dry and week long heat wave; whats the point of not putting the air con (even if you have few in your cafe) - beats me! We had to ask for a different seating where we could get a bit of air as the cafe was stuffy. May be think about how inconvenient it can be for visitors and tourists?! The place had only few guests and I could not continue to sit in a hot stuffy humid cafe while place will quickly become jam-packed. Think about your employees too! Not a great working condition. I had booked the place in advance but the vibe was not good. A fan or working AC would have changed everything!

Quirky, fun setting for a family meal. Dogs welcome downstairs. Book well in advance. The menu is more tapas style now, but offering the same interesting flavours as before, so in some respects this works better as you can try more dishes! If you love beer, this is the place to come. Relaxed atmosphere, good food and great service. Highly recommend.
