Very good food and service, waiter made effort to speak Welsh with us. Will go again, highly recommended. 🙂

We decided on an Indian takeaway to take back to our lodgings in town as we had had a long day so wanted tasty in the comfort of our dinning room.We were not disappointed. Well placed in the centre of town so a few minutes walk from us.The staff were very polite and very helpful.The selection of food was excellent and what we ordered was plentiful and very tasty indeed.

Really great food. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the decor is basic but to be honest it doesn't matter really because the overall experience is so good. Honestly the best Naan I've ever had! Very good value for money!

The quality of food is always excellent, you may have to wait a little, but it's well worth it. Order your main meal first and get some poppadums whilst you wait. Then your main meal is there right in front of you. Yum yum. The manager and staff are very helpful and always eager to please.

We ended up here by default, not having booked anywhere, and wanting to go to another place which had closed for that particular evening. It was quite busy, a simple sort of place, typical curry restaurant, but very friendly and which served a decent curry.

Ordered our food hours wait went to collect then had to wait another hour. Got home to realise that half our meal wasn’t there another hour wait for our rice what a disgrace of a place. No apology or anything from the manager will 100% not be returning. You should be ashamed of yourself!! If I could put 0 for a rate I would of.

We managed to get a table here on a Saturday night and although the decor is a bit questionable please don't let it put you off. The food is amazing and well priced! Definitely recommend!

We were staying in Caernarfon and wanted an Indian meal on the Thursday night. We searched Tripadvisor and found Bengal Spice. We booked over the phone and response was efficient if not welcoming. We arrived and as we went through the door could see a) that it was empty and b) that the decor was somewhat dated. We felt like leaving.All this disappeared when our order was taken efficiently and the food arrived. It was truly amazing and the service was personal and welcoming. We would return tomorrow if we could...I agree with other reviews - excellent service and food at reasonable prices - don't be put off just go soon!

We discovered this great restaurant when all the local chippy greasy options were full to bursting. Here we had a splendid welcome and great food. Professional freindly service and authentic taste, we shall be back for more.

Visited Bengal Spice for an evening meal. We had been travelling throughout the day and was extremely hungry. Two baltis arrived, and were absolutely soaked in salt, to the point, we could not eat it. We have visited this place before and food had been good. We overlooked the fact the place is dirty. However, having this experience has put me off ever re visiting. I'm surprised food environment haven't put conditions on them to clean the place up!! Filthy, and not happy with response we got from them neither. They accepted their error and still charged.

12 of us went there on Saturday the 4th of September on a very busy night. All of us said how good the curry was apart from one who said his Balti was a bit too salty. The service was first class and very friendly . It could do with redecorating but the food was amazing

I have never done a review in my life but feel people need to know how terrible and dirty this place is, Menu's given to us with someone else's bits of food on(I should of gone then). Food come with a unbelievable amount of salt in, we tried our best to eat it but it just got to much, we told the owner and he said he was sorry the chief had added to much salt instead of suger, they then had a talk at the bar about how much we had eaten. He come back and offered to knock one curry off the bill, how sad! Would of said alot more and not paid but there was kids in there on holiday with their parents, didn't want to spoil people's holidays. I rounded it up and give him more in cash, if he's that desperate! Go in, check the owner out, the toilet, try look in the kitchen when you're going, look at the table cloths and floor before you commit to a table, don't take my word for it.

This was my second visit to Bengal Spice and it did not disappoint! The food is beautiful here, and served with speed and efficiency. Although, it is worth noting the two male staff seem a bit serious at first, but on chatting to the manager/owner he made it clear they are severely under staffed and neither have had a day off in years… so if you know anyone in Caernarfon who needs a job, this could be for them! I Recommend the butter chicken… delicious!

Chicken tikka korma was absolutely awful. No taste at all. Looked like a bowl of tomato soup with chicken pieces. Also paid for two portions of rice but only received one. Will not be ordering again!

A very friendly place. I was made very welcome. I would recommend their Meat Dhansak to anybody. It was one of the best I've ever had. The spicyness did not overwhelm but crept up on you very subtly. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

We had chicken tikka bhuna, which was very good , along with Bombay aloo , and paneer matar .. all nicely done …. Greatly satisfying experience … will definitely go back after our next Snowdon hike

Delicious as always we've been coming here for years, would recommend the Chicken Tikka Dhansak Madras Hot and Lamb Palak, the lamb just melted in your mouth

Food was horrible. One side of naan was badly burnt and other side was not cooked. Mushroom rice, Kadai paneer and Tarka dal were not done well. It tasted raw! In addition, staff was very rude over the phone while taking orders. As we did not find the menu on the website, we had to enquire. The staff was not patient enough and was not ready to say the menu available.Stay away from this place.

We visited this restaurant yesterday, early in the evening, after doing a long day’s hike up to Mount Snowdon summit. We were greeted by friendly staff who were chatty and helpful. There was plenty of veggie dishes for us to choose from on the menu. The vegetable Dahl dish and aloo gobi dishes were very tasty. Thank you. We will definitely be visiting again on our next visit.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here, curry was beautifully flavoured as was the lemon rice. Unfortunately the naan bread was a little burnt and the pickle tray pots had dried dip round the outside which put me off a little. The waiters were great with my little girl. I would come again

If you can't tell from my title, we all really enjoyed eating here. Got a good feeling when we walked in and it was very busy on a Thursday evening. All dishes we had we really enjoyed, prices were very reasonable and staff attentive, had a lovely chat with father / son owners on way out. One of the best curries I have ever had

Went for a late takeaway last night with my girlfriend and my son so we could chill and enjoy it in our garden. Been going here for years and the guys never let us down and lovely to see them with customers dining inside again and they have had a lovely paint job to the front of the restaurant. Staying in caenarfon for a few days with the family. Visited here and the food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and made us and the kids feel welcome. Would certainly reccomend.

This was the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time, it was so good. The garlic naan was literally the best I have ever had. I also had a chicken bhuna which was absolutely delicious, just the best, so tasty I have no words. I just wished I lived closer so I could visit more often. If you are fortunate enough to visit Caernarfon then you must eat here. An added bonus is that it is very reasonably priced too - what’s not to love?

This is the only Indian Take away i will Use as the quality of the food is always consistently 100%! I’ve never been disappointed, and eat here regularly! Its also very fairly priced!

Ordered a takeaway 17:30 on New Years Eve. We were told food will be ready in 45 minutes.Arrived at 18:15 to collect. There were already approx 10 people in the restaurant waiting for their takeaway. More and more people arrived to pick up their food, and each of them were asked to sit and wait. At one point, the restaurant was quite full, to the point where social distancing was not possible - a clear breach of COVID rules.Sat in the restaurant until 18:55 and still no sign of our food (1 hour 25 minutes after ordering). Meanwhile, the staff were still taking phone orders, even though they couldn't manage the orders they had already received. After several attempts of asking the staff how long my order would take, one of them asked me if I had ordered 2 x Chicken Tikka Massala (I had not). At this point, it became clear that they didn't have a clue what I had even ordered. After wasting an hour and a half on New Year's Eve, I decided to walk out and go to another takeaway establishment in the area. A disappointing experience. Greedy owners taking way too many orders than they could fulfill. They were clearly thinking about making as much money as possible, rather than caring about their customers.

Whilst the place needs a bit of an update the food is excellent and very tasty and the service was good.

We arrived yesterday and totally forgot to pre book. We walked around and popped in just to book and was told could be busy but come back. We returned at 7 and told the gentleman we had not booked and was shown straight to a table.We had poperdom and pickle tray then I had onion bargy and my wife chicken tikka and they were lovely full of flavour. For main I had chicken Korai and my wife mixed meat jalfrezi. Lemon rice, special rice and Garlic nan. The food was gorgeous full of flavour. I can see why it gets busy with dinners and takeaways. With what is going on this place has taken precautions to make sure everyone is safe best to their ability. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Indian food. Thank you to all the staff for a great evening, great food and making me and my wife welcome.

i went here with family for a meal recently and the food was absolutely delicious! The service was superb and the Staff were very kind, respectful and helpful. Would definately recommend for anyone seeking a nice peaceful evening meal out!Regarding the ignorant comment below by the person talking about 'Social Distancing' - that is a Policy, not Law, and has nothing to do with a valid review for an independent business.

The most covid19 precaution taken here is a 500ml of hand sanitiser gel on the table. They are happy to pack as many people in to this establishment as they can and they do not have a clue about social distancing and there is no track and trace in operation. There is no one way system in place and the waiter walks around with a tea towel draped over his shoulder which he then uses to wipe and handle your plate. His attitude and personal hygiene leave much to be desired and probably the only saving grace is that the food tastes good. They are not on the government "eat out to help out" scheme, probably to operate under the radar.My wife and I felt very vulnerable as the place filled up around us and standards here certainly need to improve.

Called in as the restaurant we had booked for our meal forgot to put us in their diary.Asked if there was any free tables and could they cater for a gluten free diet.There was one table and yes they could cater gluten free.Ordered drinks and waited a few minutes for our meals as they were very busy with the restaurant and takeaways.Plenty of hand sanitizer dotted around although we used our own. Tables spaced perfectly.Test and trace also in operation.Our meals arrived with the waiter specifying which one was gluten free so we didn't middle them up.The mushroom pilau rice was lovely and the curries were not too hot and just the right amount rather than too much.

We actually visited Bengal recently twice on Thursday and Saturday.night. Both times food was very enjoyable and simple. The staff were all very nice.It was perhaps a little too busy on Saturday in regard to Covid 19. I certainly would recommend this place for its food and friendlyness.

We were visiting from Manchester and a local recommended this restaurant for take away food. We put a £30 order in at 6.40pm and paid in advance on card. They did tell us it would be an hour and 20 minutes so we said that was fine.An hour and a half passed and still no delivery. So I rang up to be told they were busy and that it would be another 15 minutes. I said I appreciated they were busy but then please don’t make a promise that you can’t deliver. After 15 minutes the order still hadn’t arrived!I rang up again and was then told it would be another 35 minutes!! I’m sure if we were sat in the restaurant they wouldn’t keep us waiting this long! My husband then rang up because he was really disappointed that they were fobbing me off again! It finally arrived two and a half hours after we ordered it!! While the mixed starter we ordered was nice the king prawn rogan josh was really bland and had no flavour whatsoever and the chicken tikka biryaniwas quite average.While I can appreciate we are in difficult times if you can’t fulfil your take away orders then please just don’t offer a take away service as we could have spent our money elsewhere and not waited for two and a half hours! I didn’t feel like I had the option to cancel as I had already paid and couldn’t guarantee that I would be refunded. Extremely disappointing and would definitely not recommend a take away order from here.

Food was beautiful, ready in 20 mins despite having large families sat inside. Absolutely piping hot. Can't believe we've never been there before. Pilau rice is mainly coloured as opposed to spiced, but curries were outstanding. Lamb was beautiful, sauce was not oily, naans were lovely, veggie samosas packed with flavour and texture. Courteous staff, acceptable distancing. Reccomend and will return

We had a takeaway from this restaurant and the quality of the food was excellent. They delivered to our holiday cottage outside caernarfon but we did have to pay a delivery charge. Would thoroughly recommend based on the food.

Arrived around 8 on monday night. Reasonably quiet good fast service and food as good as i have eaten anywhere in wales while out on business.

My partner and I came here for food last night. The restaurant was relatively quiet excluding a table of approx. 10 people, but when we arrived they had already finished eating.We had our drinks order taken and were given a papadum straight away but were then left waiting for over half an hour to order food. The staff were disinterested and not apologetic. We asked to pay our drinks bill and they charged us for extra papadums which we didn’t order.I’ve worked as a waitress for nearly 3 years and I can appreciate / forgive when a restaurant is understaffed (not that this was even the case) if the servers communicate effectively and are friendly. This did not happen and the staff couldn’t care less about it. Avoid!

Would highly recommend Bengal Spice, especially the Tandoori mixed grill and the Korai Special Dishes!

I have frequented this Indian restaurant for years - be it sitting in for a meal or taking out. This past Saturday I was left utterly disappointed by the staff at Bengal Spice after an incident I can only call outrageous!I phoned for a takeaway (delivery) at 18:35pm on Saturday and ordered a single meal for myself: Chicken Tikka Massala, Pilau Rice and a Keema Naan. The waiting time would usually be about 40 minutes, but I was told it would be about 1 hour and 20 minutes this time which was fine by me - it just made me more eager for it to arrive!20:05pm came around and there was still no sign of my delivery. It had been an hour and a half so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited longer - it was a Saturday night after all and I suspected they may be a bit busy.20:30 came and there was STILL no sign of my delivery just shy of TWO hours later. I phoned them to ask where my order was and the man on the phone seemed incredibly flustered and put me on hold for a few minutes without notice. Later, another man picked up and I explained I had been waiting two hours for my delivery. This is the part is gets bad. The man on the phone cut across me and tried to get me off the phone as soon as possible - no apology, no explanation, no niceties - he just muttered that it would be another 30-35 minutes and hung up on me when I had simply asked if my order would be arriving any time soon!I was a bit annoyed at the man's rudeness and unprofessionalism, but sat patiently and waited longer for my delivery.The time was now 21:30. It had been THREE HOURS since I ordered my meal for ONE PERSON and there was STILL no sign of it!!At this point I was STARVING, having sat around waiting to eat for THREE hours. I phoned for the final time now to ask where my order was - becoming increasingly irritated - and was informed it would be ANOTHER 20 minutes!!!At this point my partner took over on the phone as he was annoyed that I was being too polite with people who had given me such bad service and he told them to just cancel my order and told them how useless they had been!I'm sure you can see why I am so disappointed and I will NOT be ordering from here again, unfortunately. You have lost a long-time customer.Completely UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE TIME-WASTERS. AVOID!!There are plenty of friendlier and more professional Indians around Caernarfon!!Beware those of you who order on a normal Saturday night - even if you're only ordering ONE MEAL for yourself - you might never get it!!!

I think Bengal Spice is one of the best Indian take aways in Holloway, North London. We always go here for a bite to eat and the food is always amazing! And what’s great is that they make it to your liking! Would for sure recommend this restaurant to anyone! The food itself makes up for everything else and it’s a for sure must try! Ali is the restaurant owner and if anything is wrong he will correct it and make your night a good one with lovely food and spices to your desire! Ali is very friendly, kind and he always has a warm welcome when ever you visit! Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed! 5 stars for sure! :)

Before our main course, the waiter took our half finished pickle tray behind the bar counter. 30 seconds later with new spoons, our half eaten pickles were being taken out to the next couple. Truly revolting practice especially in the midst of the virus epidemic. A few pence saving for the restaurant I suppose and less food wastage.

Arriving in Caernarfon late on a Saturday this place was happy to receive us at 9pm and we were starving. Great meal, nice and spicy, and nice wine too. Thank you Bengal Spice!

New Years Eve takeaway for the wife and me. Night in this year so fancied a ruby murray, use all the curry houses in Caernarfon over the years but Bengal Spice is our current choice. The service and food is always of a good standard with plenty of meat and the price is acceptable. Do not tend to have a sit down meal in our own patch but the table service was to be seen as very professional. Would recommend.

I always Come to the Bengal Spice when I come up to Caernarfon, North Wales to see my Sisters and Family.We Came to eat on December 30th & we served a lovely meal for 4 of us. I has a Chicken Vindaloo/This is the still the best Vindaloo I have ever had. It has a depth of favours and heat that compliment it and is simply well worth the visit to try & I'm sure you wont be disappointed.The Decor of the place could do with updating and modernising somewhat , but please don't let that put you off coming here. The Indian Chef is Excellent and the prices are reasonable for the dishes chosen.The staff are very Friendly and the owner is a Legend here ,very nice man and so are the staff too, nothing too much trouble for them.The other Food in our party of four was : Chicken Tikka Patia, Madras strength which My brother in law said was excellent and full of flavour too.My Sister had a Chicken Jalfrezi , again full of flavour and was excellent.My partner - she had a Cheese Omelette ( which unfortunately was not very nice - The omelette was very thin and covered in ghee oil which stopped her from eating too much of it. But we are in a curry house after all.The Chef needs to improve on this omelette dish though - just needs to make it thicker and use a little butter to fry it in. ), but this is an Indian restaurant and that is what I'm judging the food on for my review.Bengal Spice is Highly Recommenced.

We dined here on New Year’s Day after a calamitous experience at the Black Boy the night before. Great service, and decent food. Became busy when a table of 20 locals came in, but that was cool. I thought that the drinks were pricey which might be why there was no drinks menu apparent.

Visited the restaurant with husband and daughter on our weekend break and it was excellent. Food was perfect and the service was brilliant - staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Would highly recommend.

Found this Indian on our 2nd night in Caernarfon. We are great curry lovers so knew what we wanted and we were not disappointed. Not many people in on a Tuesday night, the staff were very attentive and pleasant. The food was top notch and reasonably priced. Would definitely go there again.

La façade extérieure ne donne pas envie de rentrer dans le restaurant. Mais une fois passé la porte, on est séduit par la qualité des plats proposés (peut être un peu trop copieux) . Le service impeccable, la qualité des produits cuisinés également, rien à redire.

Had a lovely experience eating here. The food was excellent, the wine was a brand I prefer, the service was very good, the place was clean, the prices very reasonable and to top it all the noise level was at comfortable conversation level - a feature lacking in all too many restaurants these days I fear. If ever back in Caernarvon I would certainly go there again.

The outside is very unassuming. Inside it is very clean and pleasant surroundings. The other customers were varied, with young families, older couples.

Went here for a curry after reading the reviews but was slightly disappointed with the food after expecting excellence from reports on here. Chicken tikka massala was average and classically very red in colour, which for some reason Indian restaurants think is what British people want lol.chicken was chewy and not soft. We also got a chicken biryani as its always a safe bet but was disappointed to say the least, it was basically fried pilau rice with vegetables and chicken pieces with no flavour or use of proper biryani spices or flavours. Maybe I'm just used to proper Indian takeaway and restaurants living in the north west.

Tried this restaurant as recommended. Curry was nice but had better. Took a long time to take our order after ordering drinks, we had to ask. Took a while for the meals. Only one person serving but also manning the phone, take away delivers, drinks orders and taking payments. No hot towels at end of meal, chocolate eclaire sweet doesn't have the same touch as mint chocolate.

We love a good curry, and this is what we had when we visited this restaurant, having said that there are some thigs I would like to mention.

Had dinner with my teenage son here and really enjoyed it. The onion bhaji was tasty. The chicken biriani was delicious, and whilst the butter chicken had much more coconut in than I was expecting (based on others I’ve eaten elsewhere), it was tasty nonetheless. Not greasy at all. Thumbs up.

A good old style traditional Indian restaurant. Staff friendly and attentive. Poppadoms served quickly and the dips were very nice. All meals were good quality and reasonable portion size. No draft beer available. Large bottles of Cobra. Pricing was also pretty reasonable. Location is good within the walled town.

I"m not mad about Indian food but the wife is. I have to say that this restaurant changed my mind, Superb food , fantastic staff , and spotlessly clean. Loved it -- will be going again . The chicken curry was out of this world

Decided to eat here because it was fairly near our hotel & the other curry house we saw didn't serve alcohol. To be fair it doesn't look too grand inside & would benefit from a makeover, however both the meals we had were very tasty & reasonably priced. The staff too were easy going & friendly too

We arrived to the city very late on Sunday night while all the restaurants and shops were closed. We saw some lights in this Resturant and thought let’s go in and hope for a good meal. Our dinner was so incredibly delicious and tasty and the price was very reasonable. The Resturant itself was very clean and inviting. Amin our server was very pleasant and polite as well. We couldn’t ask for any better dinner and experience. If you are visiting this city, it’s very close to the main attraction, the castle . Don’t miss a fantastic meal at Bengal Spice.

My partner and I had a meal here this evening (24 April). He had chicken tikka byriani, I had chicken bhuna with basmati rice, we both had onion bhajis. The food was served quickly and was delicious, very well cooked, nice flavours and good portions. We had drinks too and the bill was just over £30. Excellent value and the service was very good too. The staff are all very friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back there again myself.

Absolutely lovely meal. It was a busy night and we had not booked but they managed to fit us in. The food was incredible and they are always happy to amend things or suggest things that suit your taste.

What an Indian the family enjoyed tonight, best for months we have tasted, really good service, extras included as Ali usually gives, he will bend backwards to please fair play, Would definitely recommend

As avid curry fans, my partner and I had to visit and curry house when on a trip to North Wales, and based on the reviews online, we opted for Bengal Spice. I'd firstly say if you go, do NOT let the weird atmosphere on arrival put you off... it shocked us, but once sat down settled fine.

I'm a bit fussy when it comes to curry but this place is a must visit. Staff were very good at helping with the menu if you are stuck. Food was fresh a hot. A no frills curry house.

Excellent.. we love this curry house. If your in Caernarfon Bengal Spice is a must. The flavour the taste the staff the service it's excellent 100%. Clean plate All the time

I had a takeout from Bengal spice this evening. They kindly let me order a half portion of Madras. I also had a pilau rice. The Madras was the best that I have ever had.Highly recommended.

Had a takeaway from here recently after not visiting for a few months wish I hadn’t bother .Popadoms stale n unedilble onion Bhaji raw in middle tikka masala tasted of nothing apart from sugar nan bread burnt on underside won’t be visiting again for sure
