Such a cozy atmosphere! Came here with coworkers to have a pint, get some food, and watch the euros game and it was a perfect place for all three. The starter platters were amazing and I would highly recommend getting a few for the table. I loved my fish and chips and I heard the other meals were good as well.

This is a fantastic town “village” pub which must be a joy to have in your local area. Loved the decor and service at the bare was tiptop. Highly unusual in that the pub element has equal importance with the seating area. Unfortunately, the food offering was somewhat slow and, ultimately, disappointing. How I wish pubs would stop offering reheated frozen products such as the Whitebait here. It is not whitebait and it is bland and tasteless. I wouldn’t buy it from Iceland and I shouldn’t be offered it at a catering establishment! Maybe this clouded by judgement but our party agreed - great, great pub but eat somewhere else.

We booked here for Sunday lunch with no expectations. When arriving I felt a little pang of disappointed as it did look like it needed a lick of paint and was full of locals, so I was dubious. HOWEVER, the roast was insane! We ordered a half roast chicken Sunday lunch each and the portions were massive! Photos don’t do it justice. The veg tasted incredible, I would love to know how they cooked it. Roasties were lovely and crispy. The Yorkshire was big- wasn’t amazing but was a welcomed addition. A large bowl of green veg to share in the middle as well as an extra pot of gravy which was much appreciated. An offer of a pot of sauces also. We had to bring some home, the waitress wrapped some up in foil for us. One of the better roasts I have had locally and would really recommend it. A nice rustic pub with a local feel. I liked the log fire and imagine sitting there in the winter would be lovely and cosy. Give it a try!

Very friendly and quick service, couldn’t fault it! Dog friendly too! In the 3 meat Sunday lunch the beef looked like it was cooked to perfection but was a bit chewy and chicken a bit dry. Being gluten and dairy free they really had good options until it came to dessert. There wasn’t anything I could eat which was a little disappointing. Also the acoustics in The Snug was an issue as it was really loud when it was full and difficult to hear our own conversations. A really lovely place though, thank you

Doesn't matter how nice a pub is, if the bar person is unfriendly/rude for no reason then it's a fail. And so it was when me and my mate walked in for a pint one evening. We both stood at the bar, barman was busy pulling five pints of Guinness. No 'evening gents, be with you in a minute' no eye contact even. When it was our turn to be served he just looked at me with a vacant expression followed by abrupt 'What do you want?'. Was it that we weren't regulars? On finishing, I put the empty glasses on the bar and said cheers...nothing in return.

I treated myself to lunch on Remembrance Sunday and was very pleased with my choice of The Beehive. The atmosphere was welcoming, the background music wasn't too intrusive, the snug area where I was seated was good, the service was prompt and attentive, and finally the Sunday roast was delicious and plentiful. A 3 course lunch and a pint of beer for just over £37 was excellent value. Highly recommended.

Sunday roast was generous and delicious, as were the homemade truffles with coffee. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Wear a warm jumper as its a bit nippy though, even with the fire going. Went to pay and was surprised by the 10% surcharge on the bill (in a pub?). No mention of it on the menu. To my understanding a 10% optional surcharge is for attentive, restaurant style service. Well friendly service it was but not 10% worth of attentive, restaurant style service. We needed to go to the bar a few times for additional drinks and desert menu, the normal pub style, which we are perfectly happy with.....however when I decided to pay £85 instead of £88 (an okay tip in my opinion), I was met with a rather negative response from the bar staff, who it appears felt insulted by not getting their full 10%....(definitely left a sour taste in the bouche...which was a pity after such a good meal)....and there I was thinking that 10% was optional.....silly me....clearly giving 7.5% instead is just "not on" at this hive of bees....lol)...

My party of five adults went to the Beehive for lunch today (Sunday 20/11/2022. The ladies that served us were pleasant, polite and attentive. I ordered the sea bass on crushed new potatoes with green beans. the size of the meal was very small. I only had one fillet on the plate, the beans were raw, and all was covered in a dressing of poor-quality olive oil. My wife had the vegetarian pie, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes cauliflower and broccoli. The pie was bland and lacked seasoning, the roast potatoes were hard and dry with no centre, the cauliflower and broccoli were raw. The Yorker pudding was dark brown to black in colour - completely dried out - completely inedible. We complained about the Yorkshires, they were replaced with some that were ever drier - you could crumble them between your fingers. My son had the roast pork - the potatoes were as described above, the tiny amount of carrots were over cooked and the parsnip fragments were black and over cooked. There is no point in me describing the other two meals as they were not a good as those previously described. One of the waitresses that came to our table apologised for the food and told us that it had been cooked in the morning and heated up for us! She told me that the Manager was in the kitchen talking to the Chef! What a joke! Chef! A person that warms up precooked burnt food. We were advised that the Manager had approved us only paying for 50% of our food. I told her that we were not going to pay for any of the food, but I would pay for the drinks. The absent Manager agreed to this. I find it appalling that the Manager left his staff to deal with situation and did not have intestinal fortitude to deal with us face to face. The Manager and the clown in the kitchen need to be replaced. The ladies at front of house need a pay rise, they were great. Especially as they were doing the Managers job!

Went for lunch yesterday (19/12/22). From 12.45-2.00 we were the only people in the building, and I understand why. Barman/landlord was lovely but the building run-down and cold. Lunch food was awful. The tagine was a micro-meal and tasteless. The cheap hot-dog was in a stale bun and they plastered it with cheap, vinegary tomato sauce, which was all you could taste. Such a shame. Go for a beer but give the food a miss.

Main course was a large round plate of bread and on top of that I had a thin slice of cold beef and two boiled carrots!! Gravy was somewhere never got to me, but that would only have made it more horrible!! What a disappointment, and was so looking forward to it. Visited with my wife for dinner on a Monday evening. My dish was quite acceptable but the fish of my wife's fish and chip order was grossly undercooked with batter the texture of raw tripe. The excuse was that the kitchen had a new fryer but, in my view, that is all the more reason forthe kitchen staff to check more carefully the quality of food produced in it. This was a schoolboy error that still resulted in a charge of 50% of the price of the dish. I shall certainly not return, which is a shame, because the selection of hand pulled beers and the atmosphere were great.

I think without exception everyone was happy with their selection. I thought the beef stroganoff main course and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert were particularly good. So often with big groups, the food does not arrive hot at the table, but lukewarm. No such problem here at the Beehive.Staff were friendly and looked after us well. Will be visiting again for sure.Thank you

We booked the Beehive for our wedding reception in July 2017. From the first meeting with Tash through to the day, the pub were accommodating, helpful and really took on board what we wanted as well as making great suggestions for things that might work well. Tash did a wonderful job organising the day and making everything look fantastic and the staff that worked on the day were superb. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was as well as what fantastic choice their was on the menu and they really enjoyed the atmosphere in the pub. The room looked fantastic and the team even took down and packed up all of the decorations for us to collect the next day. We love the pub and it's welcoming atmosphere - I can't recommend the Beehive enough for anyone thinking of it as a wedding venue or for other events. Tash and the team did a superb job and helped to make our big day really special and relaxed and we would like to thank them for all of their hard work.

A lovely, friendly pub with helpful staff. Visited on Sunday so limited lunch menu but high quality roast dinner with large portions and they prepared vegetarian starter as mains for two of us. Food is clearly freshly prepared and of an excellent standard, would highly recommend. The bar area is dog friendly.

This is a small local boozer with a rustic rather than modern feel - also doggy friendly. All staff very helpful, you can eat upstairs in the restaurant if its open (i.e. not booked out for a function) otherwise you eat in the bar. Stairs are steep so perhaps not an option for everyone.Menu is fairly standard e.g. pie and mash, fish and chips, steak, veggie option etc. but the food is prepared, cooked and presented well. We paid £40 a head for a 2 course meal with wine so not badly priced at all.

Haddock, chips & peas were first class, not greasy, well cooked & excellent quality, proper home made chips! Cooked to order & were offered more chips & tea!

The location of this pub is good but there's hardly any parking and the food is absolutely awful. I understand that it is a Greene King pub not a gourmet pub but you still expect a bit better food. I ordered jerk chicken dumplings and they were all dry, slightly uncooked, barely warm, no sauce and very dry. Not edible. And they topped it up with "salad" which consisted of around 10 wilted rocket leaves. Absolutely awful.

Went for a birthday lunch. All of the staff were lovely, couldn't have been more attentive. We were a large group and were well looked after for food and drinks. There was a slight delay with one of the meals and they were so apologetic. Easy to find and plenty of parking so a great option for us with people coming from different directions. I drive past regularly when visiting family and seeing how dog friendly they are and how quickly the food and drinks came we will definitely stop for a meal in the future as its a much better option than fast food.

We had a great experience here. We’re in Cheltenham for the literary festival and liked the look of the restaurant. Our food was absolutely superb, especially the sirloin steak - cooked to perfection - and the root vegetable and cashew nut roast - wonderfully tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and accommodating, with the manager even finding some delicious chocolates to accompany our coffee when we mentioned that we fancied some chocolate! Clearly they go that extra mile to ensure their guests have a superb experience, and we will definitely return.
