Beefeater The Woolpack in Ashford

A warm welcome after a long drive. Arrived late Sunday after a long drive from Nottingham. Walked in at 10pm but service had finished. The manager very kindly showed me to the bar and had asked them to pour a Guinness. Thank you for taking care of me!

Mothers day menu, 12 noon. No king prawn starter and the waitress didn't seem to like her job and was curt, refusing to swap a cheaper starter from the main menu as a replacement, blaming the computer system, where all she had to do was put it through as the mother's day menu king prawns and let the kitchen know to swap it for calamari As someone with many years in the industry myself, I found it ridiculous. Also, the smothered chicken was terrible, 4 out of 5 of us had it, it was literally just a skidmark of bbq sauce under the bacon and barely any cheese... Portion control gone mad? The 5th diner, had the roast turkey, which was ok, just the veg was lacking and cauliflower cheese wasn't offered by the curt waitress although other tables around us were offered it. 0/5 Won't be returning.

Cold food, rude and condescending service, and over an hour wait for breakfast

Food was really bad, dry, over cooked and expensive for what it is. The waitress was nice though.

Exceptional service by Karen as usual. Food was good. Well presented and a good portion. Not always the case.

Went here to meet up with friends, staff were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the bar area where we sat was a bit cold.

I ordered the ultimate and was disappointed with size waitress when questioned said its called ultimate because u had 3 meats ultimate to me means biggest and best altho it was nice it was small in size and I don't feel value for money over the normal size roast

The Woolpack never lets us down. The food is great, especially the Steak. The service by all the staff really look after you, thank you for that. The Woolpack is such a lovely place just to have a drink or a party. Thank you The Woolpack hope to see you soon 😊

Wonderful restaurant, quick service even when they are busy, I do advise you to book your table to avoid disappointment. Food is always good, And service is excellent.

We will never go there again very dirty windows and blind carpets it needs a gd clean and decorating

The place was buzzing and very busy, my table was booked. The food came out quickly and was very delicious. My server Karen was smiling and very happy to help. She was carrying the place and keeping everyone happy. Definitely worth a visit.

We recently visited The Woolpack Beefeater and had an absolutely fantastic experience, thanks in no small part to Sheila. From the moment we arrived, Sheila went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Her warm smile, attentive nature, and genuine care for ensuring we had the best time truly stood out. Sheila has a knack for making every guest feel special, and her recommendations were spot-on. Whether it was helping us choose the perfect dish or checking in at just the right moments, she struck the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. The food was delicious, as always, but it was Sheila’s incredible service that made the visit truly memorable. She’s a credit to the team and one of the main reasons we’ll definitely be returning. Awesome breakfasts just what's needed after a night shift

Great service, great food, great prices! Evening set menu great value for money....!! Highly Recommend and will be back.

The ambience was great and the service was wonderful except that someone missed a request for a pot of ketchup as it was busy. The food was not that exciting for the price we paid.

Service was slow but it was a busy day tbf to them, crying babies ruin the atmosphere don't care what you say if you can't control your child without a tablet then you should be eating at home.

We had a really enjoyable breakfast at the Hothfieod Beefeater. The team were friendly and helpful, and looked after us throughout. Special mention to Sheila who gave us superb service and really engaged with the children, helping them their food order. The food was excellent and we were served very quickly. The team catered well for dietary requirements as required too. Would recommend!

Tried to book an order for collection; it's very confusing as the restaurant says it's open till 11pm online, but they have the kitchen closed since 9pm. It's disappointing as no one seems to have updated information.

Nice place to have food and drink.

I go every two weeks for a full English breakfast and am usually served by Sheila who does a brilliant job in taking between 16-20 different orders and knowing who has what. Really good breakfast too!

Came for breakfast 12/01/25 for an 8am breakfast. Service was really good and friendly (Sheila served us). Kids were really happy as well. Thank you ☺️

Sheila our server was lovely, so friendly and helpful, the cooked breakfast is so good and all the extras - cereal, fruit, croissants, coffee etc is all great. Highly recommend. It’s also great if you want to be healthy as options of poached rather than fried eggs are there too.

Every time we come for breakfast, it’s fantastic - food and service. Especially so because of the attention, professionalism and care given by Sheila S everyone single time - she is exceptional and truly brilliant at her job. Thank you for always looking after us, Sheila!

Please explain this; a table booked for 6.15 on New Years Eve, 4 adults 2 children. Along with the menu was a long list of what was NOT available - starters, mains and deserts. My order of a salad consisted of mainly tomatoes and sweetcorn. Disgraceful. They may as well have closed the (excuse for a) restaurant. Won’t be going back.

I went for a Christmas meal on Wednesday and despite placing our orders 4 weeks ago 90% of my meal was "off the menu " It was laughable and I really hope if you're booked in for Christmas you do better than we did. The staff were brilliant and I felt sorry for them but the lack of food on the menu was not acceptable. I will not be eating there again until they get their acts together.

Lots of food we had pre ordered was not available. They said they had not had a delivery for 2 weeks! Very annoying and this has happened before. The staff did their best but it must have been very difficult for them. Senior management needs to sort this out We were a group of 16 but will not be going back

Haven’t been for ages? Shiela, our server was really friendly with excellent service. Nothing was too much for her. Emma and I had Roast beef Sunday lunches with chocolate sundae and crumble/ custard for afters. Absolutely delicious. Scanned promotion code after meal. We had a lovely meal and was served by Karen. Great service and food.

We had a lovely 2 course meal with a glass of wine including breakfast as part of a Premier inn deal when we stayed on Saturday night. Mixed grill and breakfast were very very good. Everything cooked perfectly on a hot plate & nicely presented. We also had a couple of cheeky Stellas in the afternoon looking out the window near the bar as storm Bert hit. Really pleasant experience.

What a wonderful meal we had for my son in laws birthday (Ian Laws). The food was fantastic and our waitress that took the order was great (sorry never got your name). There were 10 of us and the service provided by the waiting staff Sheila and Karen was outstanding. We will definately be back and this is the best food I have had in a long time. Thanks the cheese melt was fantastic and I enjoyed the pate as well. Two people had the sirloin roast dinner and loved it. They catered for all tastes and everyone enjoyed their meals. Thanks again.

I visited Beefeater Woolpack on Sunday evening. We waited longer than normally for drinks, and then 40 mins for food. The food itself was nice, but our waitress was insensitive to our needs. One of our party was an extremely slow eater and so I asked the waitress for a desert menu, so my son could decide and order it while our friend goes through her plate. The waitress was not interested in listening to me, and after stating that she’d bring the menus once everybody finished their main, she turned around and went off, just as I was trying to explain that I’d still like to see the menus. Of course, by the time our friend finished her dish and the waitress finally brought the menus, we didn’t want deserts any more.

We had breakfast here on Saturday and Sunday morning and had drinks here Saturday night. The staff were great, happy helpful. Breakfast is good value. Place could do with a deep clean in some places, that would be my only key areas of improvement. Thanks

Rachel A served us today, she was polite and friendly. Food was lovely and Rachel was attentive to my allergen throughout our meal ( allergy to raw tomato) there was a few items out of stock and she made sure we was aware. Definitely will be back again and hope we see Rachel again.

Delicious roast beef Sunday lunch

I've stayed in a few Premier Inns and dined at the adjacent restaurants but this has to be the nest experience of any of them. The food was excellent and well cooked and presented. Jamie the host was amazing and even took the time to filter which fruits went into our daughters fruit salad. It is the little things that make a big difference, my daughter was so happy and duly finished the whole lot. Wonderful meal with fantastic service and can't rate this highly enough.

Great food. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely staff nice atmosphere and good menu to choose from

Just had a late lunch at The Woolpack. First time back after Covid. Firstly, the place was cold. Heating turned on after asking the staff. We were charged for a ‘bottomless’ coke despite only ordering ‘a diet coke’. Grilled halloumi was overcooked and dry and chips were cold. Hubby ordered a mixed grill with an upgrade to sirloin steak. It was very fatty. Chicken portion was tiny. Bill came to just under £55. No starters or desserts, 2 no alcohol Guinness. Very disappointed. Standards have really slipped since Covid but prices have shot up. We won’t be visiting any Beefeater any time soon. Shame as it used to be a favourite.

Amazing service. Went there for dinner and our server Phoebe could not have been more helpful and nice. All our food was served in a timely manner and my steak was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was very chilled despite a fair number of people being there. I will definitely be returning.

Karen looks after us so well. We come here about once a month but she remembers our drinks order, allergies and favourite wheelchair accessible table. She quietly arranges for one of our group to have his steak cut up for him, without asking and without fuss. It's really good value of course and you can guarantee the steak will be good.

Had breakfast twice and an evening meal. Food always excellent and staff attentive and friendly. Full vreakfast is particularly well cooked.

Staff super friendly, and helpful. Welcomed in with a host and seated, checked for allergens. Great value on food. Help yourself continental and unlimited breakfast. Even got given a voucher to come back with 25% off as well!

Had lunch very good quality food, service was great very polite and helpful staff

We attended for a family occasion, the food was great and the ribs were amazing. A large party of us and we sat on the round table which was adequate but not enough room and not comfortable.

Genuinly bad food, overcooked and dry as hell veg looked liked it had crawled onto the plate and died after being chewed by a badger that has been hit by a truck, honestly, I haven't eaten a meal so bad since my baby son vomited in my mouth . . . and at least that had flavour. I think the coffee had been drunk previously by other patrons, passed out and resurrected by Satan himself. I have never left a review about a place that was so negative.....well we left so I guess that was a bonus.

5 stars all round....Great meal top service staff go above and beyond and have time for each and every customer. Big shout out to Jamie and Ellie. Highly recommend the half chicken

Friends joined me from further afield for breakfast last Sunday, we were suitably impressed by the ambience and the fact that children were pretty much under control considering the time of year! My friends said that this Beefeater was much better than their local and they would happily drive over to eat with me again. The food was impressive enough to draw comment also - very good. The service was excellent from entrance to exit. Sheila, our server, could not do enough for us. Couldn't ask for more or better. Overall a 5 star establishment and I'm looking forward to a return visit!

Had some lovely food here a few times this week! Not expensive at all, 2 drinks and a rib eye steak for less than £30. Ellie was a great barmaid!

Excellent breakfast and such good value with kids go free! It's too good to be true, an all you can eat breakfast. The bacon and croissants are the best I have tasted, the rest of the food is great too. The staff are often busy but very friendly. Our favourite restaurant whether it be breakfast or dinner. Please don't change, we love you!

After having disgraceful treatment from toby carvery in maidstone and turnd away, we found this little gem. Staff were instantly friendly and happy to see us a fabulous selection of food offerd and we went for 2 stakes and a cheeky pudding the two waitress one who served me and delt with me called Laura L (pay rise recomended) was fantastic and had outstanding customer service skills. Both were all smiles and chatty it was a real pleasure. Dogs are welcome but outside, and that was absolutely fine on such a hot day.

Friendly service, good food at a decent price

Busy place with good food, especially a lot of meat, but quite noisy. When you call for a reservation you get a robot on the line, funny but it works well 😂

So friendly, good atmosphere and keen to help and always lovely food.

Have used this beefeater for years

We popped in last night as a family of 5, great service from Jamie at the bar serving us drinks with a smile and took time to chat to us and made sure we kept topped up, Ellie served our food and again we couldn't fault her. Food was delicious 😋 and at a fair price. We will definitely be popping in again soon

Tonight, the food was excellent.

The Beefeater is a great place to go to for reasonably priced good food. They have a huge menu and some well cooked Steak, plus the do loads of offers and vouchers if you sign up to their loyalty scheme.

Incredibly friendly staff, very diligent when checking for my allergy which was amazing. Just had a lovely meal with a friend

Plenty of parking. We hadn't booked, but nevertheless were warmly welcomed within two minutes of arrival and shown to a table. Drink order taken straight away, and provided soon after, when at the same time we ordered our hot meals. These were delivered within fifteen minutes. Both meals were very enjoyable. Service was efficient, good humoured and friendly. As with anything these days, the prices have gone up, but for gammon steak, pineapple, fried egg, peas and chunky chips for £12 ISH, I can't grumble. Blue Light card holders need to provide a code number from their App.
