The steak was well cooked and enjoyable, however the service was excellent in particular from Sharlotte, many thanks.

We went for breakfast for my daughter’s 16th birthday. There was 15 of us made up of a mix of from ages 5 to 74 and we all found plenty to eat and Sophie was so helpful and accommodating when I had to add more people to the booking each time, she was also on shift the day we came in and was again very helpful. Thank you Sophie

We have stayed in the attached Premier Inn many times and always have our evening meal at the Beefeater, a venue we regularly took our, now grown up, children to. Good food, service and value. David P, our server, was excellent.

Good food and excellent atmosphere and service was pretty quick. It’s my local so good around. Good deals on the food and drinks as well.

Friendly and helpful staff and good food too. Lots of free parking available and colouring and crayons to entertain the children.

Stopped at the Balmoral for lunch on a Thursday. We had not reserved a table and were pleased that our party of three adults and three children could be accommodated. Two of our party chose meals from the lunchtime menu and one from the main menu. The Ribeye was very tasty and the Halloumi burger went down well. One guest felt a little let down by the Spinach Lasagne and the Sticky Toffee pudding. We were very well looked after by Donna and Robyn who were particularly attentive to the young children in our party. Thank you both for looking after us so well!

Well if you like slugs in your salad then go to this place. Wife had a live white slug in her lettuce !! On complaining the young waitress called for the manager. She came up to see what the fuss was about and said she was sorry this had happened and we were not going to be charged for the meal. Just the my wife’s. She then proceeded to tell us that the company follows procedure by washing all salads before dishing them out. I’m sorry have a drink on the house, sorry come back another day for a complimentary meal for the four of us. But no. I then wrote to the head office and put my complaint to them. A couple of weeks later I get a reply sorry this is happened but you are welcomed back ! What, you must be joking, to have a live slug in your meal, and get nothing except sorry, but don’t pay for your wife’s meal. She never ordered a slug, let alone alive one. So anyone going to this place for a meal beware, slugs on the menu but no charge, and don’t think your going to get a free round of drinks, or complimentary meal ticket for your group, you are very much mistaking. I guarantee this will go unheeded, and if it does, beware, I will post the photo of the 1/2” white slug.

Again the Balmoral was very good, we sat at our usual table and spoke to other regular people at an adjacent table. We like having Donna as our server, the meal was up to its excellent standard and the service was very good as it always is. Thank you Donna and the Balmoral.

Apart from an excellent steak (and crunchy chicken wing starter) nichola was really friendly and helpful as we had twins and a little girl,nothing was too much trouble so apart from great grub it is great customer service which made the meal that more enjoyable. ps everyone enjoyed there food too.

Our food was dished up, I had a steak special, 3 types of steak. The fillet was so chewy I couldn’t eat it ! When was fillet tough. My wife had a salad with chicken, however there was extra meat, a 1/2” white slug on the lettuce 🤮 Called the waitress over, who in turn got the manageress, she apologised but then proceeded to tell me that all salad is washed before dishing up. Yes, of course. Said she would not charge for her dinner. Did she want something else, would you when you could have chewed on a live slug. Didn’t offer a free drink or come back for a free meal. I wrote to the Beefeater management but no letter of apology or anything else.

We love this restaurant. Food is always excellent but it is the staff that make it special. We only visit twice a year when travelling down from Cheshire but the staff remember us and that is true Customer Care. In particular, a lady named Sophie who we were lucky to have her look after us again. She treats my Mum of 91 with respect and she has such a friendly demeanour. She is certainly an asset to this restaurant. We will look forward to dining again in October.

Excellent breakfast, staff and food first class. Shout out To Mikey the chef. Absolutely rate this beefeater. Had an evening meal last night which was also first rate.

Had a breakfast here just this morning and have to say it was top notch. All the food was freshly cooked, the service was wonderful, have to name check Lisa. Forever smiling. I'm still stuffed now. Will definitely be back 5 stars 🌟 :)

A friendly greeting and a Fantastic breakfast buffet , with poached eggs brought to my table by the lovely manager Lisa . Plenty of Continental foods to choose from and hot and cold drinks. Great value for money will most definitely be coming back.

Four of us stopped over at the Premier Inn and had breakfast here before heading off on a cruise. Mykie cooked the best breakfast I've had at a Beefeater. I made a point of heading over to the kitchen and thanking her. Our waitress, Kally, was also brilliant, going above and beyond to make sure our visit was a great one. Thank you to a great team. We will be back!

The best service we’ve had for a very long time! We were there to celebrate our daughter’s 7th birthday and both Donna and Nicole could not have been more accommodating! They went above and beyond to make her feel special and absolutely made it a memorable evening. We’ve had a really tough week after losing a family member and honestly it’s things like this that just make people’s days/weeks/months; you never know what somebody is going through. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by the sirloin steak. I can still taste the flavour in my mouth 3 hours later. I kept thinking would I be allowed a 2nd portion but one has to discipline ones self. I shall definitely be going back. Best Steak I've had in a long while. To top it off Meghan the waitress came and Sang me Happy Birthday. Very Good would definitely recommend this Beefeater.

First weekend away since lock down ended and stayed at the Premier inn attached to this Beefeater.The meal Monday night was fantastic with great service from the service team, especially Meg, Nicola and Sian.Breakfast Tuesday morning was nice and hot and my wife loved the poached eggs.Chantelle was very good and attentive, smiling all the time. would love to go there again when we are down that way.

I am staying at the attached premier inn. The food was good and the service was excellent. The starter was trash can nacho’s which were nice but messy to eat. The main was a double cheeseburger which was decent.A special mention for Meg, Nicola and Sian as the staff were friendly, attentive, and the service extremely efficient. Thanks again all staff.

First night of the lockdown restrictions easing and we were attending a family funeral the next day so whilst staying in the Premier Inn next door we booked for evening meal and then breakfast. Faultless IMO friendly reception, shown to a clean, nicely segregated table, attentive waiting staff, food was good, all in all great VFM. Will definitely stay again when visiting family.

This was our first meal out since lockdown restrictions lifted and it couldn't have been any better. We received a lovely welcome from the staff and our waitress Donna was very efficient, friendly and helpful. I ordered the sirloin steak which was cooked beautifully, it melted in the mouth, and my partner had the mixed grill which was delicious but he couldn't finish as there was so much on the plate! We will definitely be back as this restaurant is local to us, we had a lush meal which was very good value for money.

We were greeted back by Sam and Donna Head of House and waitress like long lost friends which added to the fact I was meeting up with a friend for the first time in several months. The food was excellent and seemed to be larger in quantity. excellent service and a real welcome back.

Went here for Dinner and was hoping to get a good burger and my god they did not dissapoint! A waitress (Chloe) was very kind and willing to help. Of course the food came very quickly too, I didn't have to wait for long at all! Would totally recommend!!!

We came here for lunch , ordered steak and cheese sandwich with side of chips looked great when it arrived ate the sandwich first absolutely delicious followed by the chips as I got to bottom of plate sitting underneath was a dead fly. Absolutely disgusting made me feel sick. Spoke to waitress who apologised and said would take off the bill , that was not the point this should never have happened .totally ruined my lunch

I visit the Balmoral regularly with friends and family. We always ask to sit in Donna's area as she is our favourite waitress. All of the staff give brilliant service and are always friendly, but we have got to know Donna over the years and she always makes time for a little chat with us. The food was lovely, as described, fresh and hot.

Came here yesterday to celebrate saying yes to the dress! Megan was so friendly and made us feel so welcome it really made my day. Food was tasty and was very good value on the lunchtime menu.

Came in for a meal last week. Was told there wasn’t any tables in the restaurant but was offered a table to eat in the bar. Food was good but Ebony and Sophia provided brilliant service to me and the family. Will deffo be coming back again.

This is a strange time (Covid 19 limited) to write a review but, putting that aside, we had a good experience in our local Beefeater yesterday evening. We had pre-booked a table and despite having our masks on we were recognised by the waitress at the entrance.We were shown to our table and given the menus and the waitress (5062 Donna W) asked if we would like a drink, (nothing unusual there) but then she said "same as last time a large New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and a large Malbec?"We were amazed. and throughout the evening she maintained a quiet but attentive and friendly approach to us and all the tables in the area.The only thing that we did note was that the menu is now significantly reduced in content now. But that is true of most places

Today we were served by Jane and Donna. Absolutely lovely service, fantastic food could not fault anything! So thank you for a lovely lunch today. We will definitely recommend and will be returning.

My son and I chose the Balmoral due to it being 5 mins walk from home. Always a friendly welcome especially from Donna Jane Nicola and Sam. Love the friendly chatter and great service from these lovely ladies. The food was good and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Thank you once again. X

We ate here on the 1st October and the waitresses we had were very lovely! I’m not sure of their names but they were young and both blonde. We always love Beefeater’s and enjoyed this one as much as our local one. It was warm and welcoming and food was great. I had a Cesar salad which was good and my partner had a burger which he also enjoyed. Then for dessert we had meringue kisses which are delicious!

We came here after enjoying a previous experience. The staff were friendly. Our server Megan was great! Food was good, one of the nicest veggie burgers around. It also felt safe as Covid 19 measures were taken seriously by all.

I have been here more times than I care to mention with the family.Today we went again. Sian was her normal smiley, busy, friendly self.Nicole was also as friendly and helpful as ever.There are some new staff who appear to be doing well but it was lovely to have Sian and Nicole looking after us.Our food appeared quickly. Mine was absolutely perfect. Everyone else was very happy with theirs too.We will be back and very happily so.Thank you as ever Sian and Nicole.

We went to the Balmoral beefeater tonight for a meal. What a fantastic place to eat. Food was really gorgeous. But we both found Chantelle and chloe were such lovely ladies that helped us. A great credit to the company. Nothing was too much trouble. Made our visit extra special. Well done ladies.

we stayed at the PI last Thursday and had dinner in the Beefeater, we were served by Chloe, she was very friendly and professional, the meal was very tasty.Because of Covid, we were told by the government we had to wear face coverings, 2 people came to the desk wanting a table, not wearing face coverings, Chloe was very firm but polite, she said no mask no service, which made me feel a lot safer.Thank you Chloe

I was staying over the way in the premier inn so popped here for some food. They have a track and tarave system in place and screens up everywhere which is great really. They allowed me to take my order back to my room and wrapped it for me to keep it warm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was great and good value.

A stop over in the holiday inn on a Saturday night so we walked across to grab some food. What a treat. The burgers we had and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The onion rings were very tasty and the drinks were good too. Friendly staff, great food, friendly staff. Lovely place to visit.

Food was amazing, service was fantastic. We've been coming here for over 13 years. This was our first family meal since March. Nicola was our server and we love her. She explained how things now work, took the extra time to explain to our little boy to. I was really impressed with the whole Covid 19 set out a d the new one way systems. My only complaint is was a shame that the manager didn't stick to the one way system, but was very quick to tell customers

Megan was fantastic, the service was exceptional.We were greeted promptly with a warm welcome. COVID-19 procedures in full effect, new screens everywhere, very impressive.Place was clean and presentable.Manager James greeted us upon arrival and explained the new procedures and processes.The food was hot and tasty. Drinks were prompt. The family and I fully enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommended.

The positives - I was staying at the Premier Inn next door so was very close. The covid organisation was excellent in every way. The staff were brilliant, friendly caring careful and efficient. The building was ok - good and well maintained toilets good.The negatives - The food dreadful. Expensive for what was on offer having visited 6 different restaurants in the area this was the most expensive and the worst. A few miles away I had a meal that was absolutely brilliant and cheaper. A burger on a long plate with a few dreadful oven chips on the side is not worth £12.99. A ceaser salad at £11.49 should be better than a handful of packet lettuce / green leaves and a few pieces of chicken !! Some time ago I decided that Beefeater wasnt for me and was a poor place to eat and sadly this has reinforced that opinion. Thats the last ever. A shame because the staff were working so hard and were so caring.

We had the lovely Lauren serve us tonight! When asking the manager her name, she told me she was leaving :-( Lauren is a great asset to the company and will be missed! Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Balmoral for a lovely Breakfast. We visited on Wednesday 5th August, the restaurant was busy but everyone was socially distanced with an organised one way system in place. The staff were rushed off their feet due to their work load being tripled as everything is served at the table now. The staff were fantastic, welcoming, polite, professional, absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and fantastic value for money as 4 of us had breakfast for less than £10 with the eat out to help out scheme. Would definitely recommend!

Well as we try and get back to normal... If we canLast night ( Saturday 1st) we went to our local Beefeater the Balmoral Beefeater in Southampton well done everyone, fantastic and very safe. We were taken to a table via a one-way system, screens between sensibly distanced tables, table service fordrinks, and throw away paper menus. Saw staff in disposable aprons andgloves thoroughly cleaningtables between visitors too.Cutlery was brought withmeals, along with sachets of sauc/salt/vinegar. We'lldone all staff, veryimpressed and will be back

Excellent personal service and food always great. All of the staff are always friendly and helpful and never overbearing, but in particular our waitress Nicola goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we have the best experience. Would highly recommend

Popped in for a meal. Sat in the bar area, bar staff was really friendly. Katie went out of her way to clean the table, provided cutlery and assisted with our vouchers. Very bubbly and polite. Will definitely go back and would recommend.

We have visited this place a couple of time’s. We have had varying degrees of success there. We enjoyed it the first time we went. We travel to get there it’s an hour for each of us. Having had a good meal the first time we went back. Each time we have visited there has always been something not available. From the menu or parts of a meal not available, either the sauce or the actual meat. Because of this we have found somewhere else to meet up.

We were served by Donna who was super lovely. Interacted with our little one as well as us and definitely made up for slow service regarding receiving our food. Food was mediocre but honestly, absolute asset!!

Stayed at the PI attached for 2 nights, and all our meals including breafast we had to complain about.1st evening 4 of us ordered our food, only to be told 10 minutes later that 1 item of main course was not available, so re look at the menu so ordered Steak.the food arrived my husbands fish & chips were cold and my streak was so grissley that I could only eat about a quarter of it.Breakfast the next morning can only be discribled as a mass bundle, total chaos, items running out all the time no hot water to make tea, no tea bags, the list goes on!our 2nd night was even worse ordered drinks to be told they have run out of 2 items that we wanted to order, food arrived chicken which again was cold and sent back!While we were eating 1 employee decided it was a good time to start hoovering the upper landing! No where in the restaurant is draft free, we had to eat with our coats on.I would never eat here again

We walked in as a family without a reservation at around 6pm in midweek. It was busy but we were easily accommodated. The place has had a big face lift (not sure when) but it is now the typical modern looking beefeater range. There is a travel lodge at the back so it picks up a lot of traffic from there. Parking can be tight when busy.The menu is good and has a wide selection of choices. The usual burgers and steaks plus plenty others. Main courses are in the range of 8 to £20. Burgers are a little on the pricy side in my opinion at £15 but that seems to be common these days. We had a gluten free member with us and this was easily accommodated with their own menu. If you eat before order before 6;30 you can eat off the super saver menu. A more limited menu but main courses range from 5 to £8. You can add a starter for £2.79 and a dessert for £2.80 in my opinion this is a bargain. The 3 course is enough for anyone and excellent value. I recommend the sirloin steak for £1 extra. Also recommend the refillable softdrinks. When busy service can slow a bit, but they were apologetic. Overall very pleased. Happy family. My only criticism is the tables by the door are drafty. Don't sit there.

I come here more often than care to admit. It is a Beefeater. Menu is standard. The quality is less standard across the country. At the Balmoral the food is great and the service is excellent.Plenty of parking. Ready access from West Southampton, Romsey, M27.

Live local and pop in for a meal after work and it was just okay.If I hadn't had a 40% discount voucher I might have been more annoyed about the food as it was all just warm and the chips were a total let down.Dont think we will bother going back as you can get better meals cheaper without a discount voucher.

We eat at the Balmoral about once a month. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is always lovely. We would like to give a special mention to Meghan who always goes out of her way to make our visit special. We always look forward to our next visit!

I visited the Balmoral with 4 of my friends for a little christmas get together. The food was lovely, especially the steaks - cooked to perfection. The staff all seemed very cheerful and always happy to help. There was a great atmosphere.

This restaurant is typical pub grub. The food is consistently fine and not overly priced. If you sign up for a Beefeater reward card there are plenty of vouchers and offers to make it worthwhile. One thing that is good here are the waiting staff. Even though it’s usually pretty busy and they work very hard the staff are cheerful, friendly and professional.

Normally love this place but tonight it was not good. Had to wait ages to place the drinks order, when they arrived cherry coke given to the wrong person, then that persons drink never arrived. Asked twice, eventually arrived!! When placing food order, told only had 1 sauce out of 4 for the steaks! Starters were lovely, my main course however, was not. I had festive burger, dry as anything, asked for extra chips, never arrived! Asked for water, never arrived! Had to get up from table and chase up drinks because they never arrived!!! Puddings, the chocolate bomb never melted, it was still frozen! Chocolate brownies cold in the middle! When we got the bill, charged for the wrong wine, an extra sauce, that was one of the sauces they never had!!!
