Me encantan los jugadores de cricket y he estado viniendo aquí durante muchos años. Hace poco tuve un asado aquí un domingo. La comida es increíble. Una vez que vine, habíamos luchado por conseguir un asiento para tener mi asado. Pero Emily, trabajó muy duro para que nos sentáramos. Realmente se esforzó por llevarnos a algún lugar para comer. Es muy buena en su trabajo y claramente un activo para ayudar al bar y la cocina a funcionar bien.

Went here for a last minute roast and it was absolutely amazing, ordered the roast lamb and it fell straight off the bone. Service and staff were great, reasonably priced as well which is a plus, would have happily paid more. Will be coming back!!

After a seriously dissapointing experience at the edge.. Bouncer was sound; directed us to the lovely spacious garden. Guinness on point. Will return.

Really nice few pints before the football last Saturday,beer was great,only small complaint was my food order went missing but when it came it was very nice

A hidden little gem. Went in for one drink with some girlfriends, and ended up.staying most of the day. They had a live band, staff were friendly, and even the owner was so kind and welcoming.

We came into the Cricketers today and had a wonderful Sunday roast and some amazing pints! Special mention to Emily and Sam who were both so welcoming!

Absolute lovely local in the heart of Bedford Place! Managed to fit us in for a roast fairly last minute as a previous booking had fallen through at a pub that will remain unnamed, super understanding over the phone and at the bar. Server dealt perfectly with my family and myself being awkward with stuff like not having one of those silly Erdinger glasses (great selection of beer nice to see some Belgium stuff in the fridge) and the cask having issues but still being polite and apologetic with my impatient father. Awesome roast dinner as well, cheap and cheerful but didn’t feel so, been drinking here for a while on the open mic Mondays for the cheap cask pints but definitely will come back for a Sunday roast sometime soon!

The best bar in Southampton, both for the atmosphere and the variety and taste of the drinks

Qué gran hallazgo, estábamos teniendo un día de cerveza padre e hijo y comenzamos en los jugadores de cricket. Nos dieron la bienvenida cuando entramos y encontramos todo el personal amable. Había una buena elección de cerveza de verdad también. Todos tuvimos el cerdo asado y todos comentamos lo bueno que estaba, en mi opinión, posiblemente fue el mejor cerdo asado que he tenido! Definitivamente volveré.

Went to CRICKETERS because my friends had a nice experience there before.10/10: for was amazing. Staff polite, respectful, DOG LOVING. atmosphere is chilled

Gluten-Free roast! Gravy is incredible and I love the lamb.

I love the cricketers!!! Always a banger, great food and a very strong drink selection. Can get very busy on the weekend but has good offers during the week for those who want to visit a pub midweek. Expect live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Staff are lovely, can't go wrong.

Great place for drinks for night outs and meals during the day!

Vino aquí de nuevo varias veces este fin de semana, fue excelente siempre. El filete de hierro plano de hoy era muy bueno, normalmente tengo la rutina de filete que también es increíble, así que fue un buen cambio. 10 / 10 recomendaría!

El Cricketers Pub ofrece un ambiente cálido y acogedor junto con una comida excepcionalmente cómoda. Su poutine de filete es un punto destacado, con filete tierno y jugoso encima de papas fritas crujientes, recubiertas de salsa rica y cuajada de queso gooey. Perfectamente sazonado e indulgente, es un plato imprescindible que eleva la comida clásica del pub a la categoría gourmet.

This venue is an excellent place to get a decent meal, very good chef, lovely food well resented and served by very polite and efficient staff. Not too expensive either !

This is a true Southampton old school pub. It is a family friendly pub with all good food and drink you’d expect. I really love that they support local music artists in the area by having several nights with live shows. This is a proper neighbourhood pub with lots of history. Additionally, they have a veggie menu for our veggie mates!

The pub is good the beer is good the staff are good only problem is piped music well too loud for a pub of this size deafening actually

Nice food today Sat the 3rd August and nice vibe,very dog friendly,nice staff like the area relaxed atmosphere after shopping.

The food can't be faulted and I will continue to go, however the manager could do with some customer service advice, I have been maybe 5 times when she is there and it's always awkward, she won't allow me a tab the other staff do quite happily, she seems harassed each time. I'm a hospitality professional with an alcohol licence, so I always consider the easiest way to be served and pay first if needed, often paying for extra drinks and dessert first... When I asked basic questions as it was the Euro finals Sunday and I was eating early then going before the game, it seemed a burden to even ask...

Service was very poor but food was amazing albeit VERY slow on delivery.

The Sunday lunch at The Cricketers is absolutely delicious and I've yet to find another place in Southampton that does a roast as good as them. I always get the lamb roast and am never disappointed. The lamb is so tender that it falls away from the bone easily and melts in your mouth. The Yorkshire puddings and gravy are also to die for! If you are a dessert person and have space in your belly after the roast (the portions are generous), I would recommend following up with the chocolate fudge cake! Aside from the food, I always feel incredibly welcomed by the staff and the cosy atmosphere is perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon, even in the summer! But they have great outdoor seating for sunnier days too!

Great pub/find in Southampton. My wife & I visited the day before our cruise on Saturday 22nd June 2024. The best cheese board in the world. Will defo visit again next year.

This place was recommended by Dany our taxi driver when we mentioned we wanted to go to a pub. I understand why! I had the fish n chips and everything was soooo amazing! Chelsea was so sweet and helpful! I wish we were staying here longer just so I could come here a couple more times

We stopped in on the recommendation of our taxi driver, who Said that cricketers was the best pub in Southampton. After the friendly and wonderful service we received from Chelsea, I'd tend to agree with him. Everything was very tasty. So glad we stopped here for dinner and a drink.

Great open Mic night on Mondays, good atmosphere

Delicious and substantial roast at a very good price, and happy that my dog could join too.

Just went in for a quick drink and it is a nice little pub. Didn't try the food so can't really comment on that.

Rudeness of the barmaid kat was unbelievable, such arrogance with no understanding of customer service or peoples unseen illness, I would not recommend this pub and recommend Kat get some training in people skills

One of my favourite pubs in Southampton... The staff are super friendly and the food is really good too :) this venue hosts open mic nights multiple evenings a week and always hosts a warm crowd. Steak Poutine at £9.95 a real deal.

Live music on Monday and Fridays, had a great time. The Green beer is definitely worth a try!

Every time I return to Southampton I try to come to this pub to enjoy its excellent Sunday roast. In addition to the quality of the food and drinks, I was won over by the warm atmosphere of the place and the kindness of the staff. I'm Italian, I come to Southampton to visit my daughter and I always try to include a Sunday in my stay to be able to enjoy the Sunday roast at this pub. Always satisfied.

The best affordable roast in Southampton! My friends and I love coming here for a roast on a Sunday and then staying for the quiz in the evening. The roast is always amazing and the quiz is so much fun! The portions of meat you get are always large, I love to get the pork because it comes with stuffing :)

5/5 great music and atmosphere. Literally just lost my phone there 10 minutes ago, had a panic, went to a the bar staff and somebody handed it in to them. All sorted, all good, and ducking great music and service to boot.

Went here to escape Orange Rooms (I didn't book it, don't judge me). Was expecting a sedate old man pub (which is the vibe it's given when going past it in the day). Was quite lively, with all manner of people belting out Spice Girls and Queen. It was good fun. I'd consider going again. Didn't get food ofc so I can't comment on that.

I wanted to update my review after some time since I last visited. I have been to this place on and off for many years. Always received a nice welcome. It’s got a traditional style, award winning food, plenty of seating with stools and wingback chesterfield chairs. There’s also, an outdoor rear patio area with more outdoor bench seats at the front. There is also a high level of cleanliness throughout together with hand sanitizer’s available. I wish to pay tribute to “Kat” for this. And, more recently the outstanding fundraising for the people of Ukraine as well as providing supplies. I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a quick pint or a Sunday lunch. Highly rated.

Have eaten here a lot and have never had a poor meal, the Sunday roasts are just as good as you can get anywhere as are the steaks. The staff, Kat Huw and everyone are brilliant at what they each do, there’s a bloke called John who struts about like he owns the place but he pours a hell of a good Merlot. Highly recommend the Cricketers.

Cricketers is an amazing place to hang out with friends and have some food. I went there with some friends a couple of weeks ago and we loved the place. I was surprised that there was a band playing some rock music in there. It was awesome to listen to live music in a local pub. Me and my friends had a great time there ,so soon we'll be back. It's definitely, a must to go in Southampton.

Great food and attentive service at a price that’s easy on the pocket. Really friendly atmosphere and firmly rooted in the community. Sally and John are great hosts and have a super team supporting them guaranteed to make your visit a pleasurable one.

Cracking night, good beer, live music

We had a very enjoyable time here on Sunday. We ordered a variety of the the Sunday roasts (lamb, beef, vegetarian etc.) and found all of them to be very tasty. The staff were so friendly to us all and the atmosphere was friendly. I would definitely recommend!

What a great pub. Service, food, ambience, history is fantastic. Had a really enjoyable meal and beer in the heart of Southampton. This is our fourth visit and we have never been disappointed. Friendly staff and friendly customers.

SUCH a cosy pub!! Jazz night. Loved their performance, which was spontaneous and so incredible. One just knew that legends were gracing us with their presence.

We popped into the Cricketer’s whilst visiting Southampton before our cruise. The bar was busy, which is always a good sign!! We ordered food - fish & chips, and the Southern Fried Burger and both arrived well presented and were very tasty 😋 The bar were holding a wine tasting evening and John and Sal the hosts were ensuring all of the customers who were tasting and scoring the wine were having a great time. We were asked to join, but didn’t want a heavy night before setting sail the next day, but the very friendly hosts brought us a couple of wine samples to try anyway 😊 Great bar, excellent atmosphere coupled with fab food. Well done team Cricketers - we will be back !!

Always a great pint, and lovely to sit in the sun. Had the vegan nachos and they were SO GOOD, loads of jalapeños, loads of dips, was delicious. Facilities are clean. Staff are friendly, although service isn’t the fastest, and the prices arent the cheapest, but still good. Really great pub.

I went for Sunday roast with two friends this Sunday. The food was tasty and abundant. I’d add some greens though. The service good as well. Bravo.

Booked a table here for Mother's Day and thoroughly enjoyed our roasts and chocolate cakes with ice cream! Staff were very friendly and accommodating! Would definitely come here again!

We came for the Thursday steak evening as seen on Facebook glad we turned up I shared the steak platter and was glad I did plenty of Steak Chips and onion rings for two. The steak was cooked extremely well (med rare as advised). The fussy daughters had chicken gouging wrap and a Korean chicken burger and said they were amazing. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Will be back soon.

Spent the evening here with friends and family. We enjoyed the delicious range of steaks for an affordable price. Great music alongside watching the football. Staff were very friendly and happy to help.

Enjoyed a lovely drink in the sunshine on the outside benches before eating a delicious T-bone, chips and onion rings for dinner. Drinks during happy hour were cheap and staff were very welcoming! Will definitely visit again.

We Visited here on a steak night, wow. !! The food was spectacular and cooked to perfection and well presented. Other members of the party ordered from the normal menu and again the food was amazing. The staff were friendly as always and me and my family had a fantastic evening. Thank you

Really enjoyed the first vegan night at this very friendly pub. Food was lovely and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Wheelchair access was difficult, I needed help to get in and help to get to the toilet (I can walk a few steps with assistance), but once inside I could get around very well. Really hope they do another night like this one, or even better to put some of the things we tried tonight on the regular menu! The fish pie and the battered sausage were my favourite (our group of three tried everything between us, tapas style). Price was good too!

Went there works leaving do the other night and had an unexpectedly amazing time! Went in there for a couple before planning to move elsewhere, then ended up there the whole night! Live band were amazing and service was pretty rapid! Only downside was that there wasn't any food being served from a kitchen, however they had a massive range of crisps which saw us through! Highly recommend

Great venue, lovely staff and a good selection of pub food classics, draught cider, lager and ale. A great supporter of the local Music scene with a weekly open mic and regular live acts at the weekend.
