Order never arrived but money taken. No one answering the phone. Terrible service. Would not use again. Gave up waiting

We normally go to the rose if we fancy a curry but in this occasion wanted to spend the evening indoors so decided to give bearsted spice a go for the first time in a long time, very dissapointed! First of all it was 15 minutes late and when I rang they would send it straight out, it turned up 10 minutes later Luke warm at best. We asked for mango chutney only to accompany the poppadoms as we don’t like any of the other stuff to which they supplied us with mint sauce and no mango chutney. The poppadoms were stale but the best surprise was finding a bone in my chicken korma …safe to say we won’t be using this place again!

Ordered our food at 5.05pm.confirmed at 5.10 . They never bothered contacting us. We could only get through by just eat. It is now 8.30pm on New Year’s Eve and still no food. An absolute disgrace and to think we have supported them and spent over £1000 pound in the last year. Message for you mo, I expect a full refund and apology for your disgusting service. Needless to say you won’t be getting our business next year.

Excellent Indian takeaway.I waited until having my fourth takeaway from here within the last 5 weeks to gauge how good the food and service were before leaving a review, to see how consistent it was. I had become dissapointed with my other local indian the standard of service and food wasn't great. I tried an alternative in town which was good, but kept messing up my order. This one however is excellent, prompt delivery and consistently great food.I have tried various dishes over the last four meals and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them.lots of flavour, always nice and hot on receipt, four different delivery drivers, all friendly and courteous. Highly recommended.This is now my first and only choice, thank you.

Placed a takeaway order tonight at 19.20pm and was advised 45 mins. Still waiting at 20.37pm and after several attempts managed to contact the, totally unappologetic restaurant who inform us the food is still sitting there awaiting delivery. We are approx 15 mins away so God only knows what time it will arrive but if it gets here cold it will be going straight back. Wont be using this place again. Cant comment on the quality of food as ours hasnt arrived.

Ordered a delivery service tonight. It was lovely. Still piping hot, on time, very polite staff and amazing food. (husband did say there was too much food colouring in his masala). Having said that we were very happy. Definitely would order again.

We ordered a take away to be delivered and it was on time and very hot - excellent! I ordered chicken madras that was tasty, but the portion was quite small. My partner had prawn Bengal Delight, but neither of us really enjoyed it. The mushroom rice was good, as was the peshwari naan and onion bhajees but neither of us were blown away by the food.

I had a lovely curry other day. First time I used Bearsted Spice and now I think this will be my regular curry house. Highly recommended.

Have used this restaurant many times in the past and it has been fine But last week all I can say my wife and I have never had a Indian meal That did not taste of any think other than water the was no taste at all In all the dishes we ordered and based on this meal we will no longer be Using this takeaway again in the future.

I went to my uncle’s local Indian takeaway to pick up a take away. From the menu it looked promising, I’ve lived two years in Bangladesh so know good Indian (Bengali) food and I know what this type of food tastes like for a European taste. We ordered lamb Bhuna for my uncle. Genuinely it had no taste. It should be rich with spices and cooked for a long time to get nuanced flavours...it wasn’t. The lamb also wasn’t soft but hard and just no effort gone into the cooking I also ordered a prawn chili dish which I was expecting to be green but turned out pink...watery with again no taste. Overloaded with black pepper as a flavouring...just not nice at all. Prawns were small and horribly over cooked... Pilau rice came quite unlike pilau I have ever tasted...white rice with a few flecks of colour. The best thing was the papadums... Honestly I’d have given it one star but I gave two stars as this is not in London or has a big Asian community near by. Honestly though the owners should be ashamed to sell this food as good Asian food... it’s not...don’t eat there. Go to the chippy or Chinese next door....

At Last after living in our current house for almost 10 years we have found an Indian Takeaway that will deliver to us, which with winter around the corner is a great thing that most homeowners take for granted. This order was a trial run for us both in respect of the food, the online ordering system and also the delivery itself as a number of times when we have tried to get food delivered the problem has been that the delivery driver hasn’t been able to find our house. There was no such problem with Bearsted Spice, the online order system was very easy to use and in fact it was possible to place the order before they opened and ask for the food to be delivered at a specific time, due to the distance we live from the Takeaway there is a small delivery charge, but it is more than worth it as the food was delivered at exactly the time we requested without the driver having any problem in finding us. The food itself is priced in line with most Indian takeaways in the area, but is defiantly more tasty than most we’ve tried and also the portions are more generous although both my wife and I left clean plates. We will certainly be using Bearsted Spice again and I would recommend them to anyone else who lives within a 5 mile radius

An impromptu Saturday Night Takeaway with friends. This was the first time using Bearsted Spice as it is really too far from us to collect and we are out of their delivery area. Anyway our friends collected the order on their way over to us. The order was tomplete with some free additional sides thrown in. All of the food was hot and very very tasty in fact I would say this is probably the best Indian Takeaway I’ve had, so next time our friends want an Indian takeaway my wife and I will definitely be in.

This food from the place is consistently good and much better than can be obtained from the more expensive Delhi Spice Resturant nearby

Felt I had to review the exceptional service and food for this great little takeaway. The owner Mo never forgets your name and on every order he is meticulous to ensure it is correct, on the odd occasion an error has been made, he immediately takes control and remedies. I can't stress enough the quality of the vegetarian food we have ordered through this business, we have yet to find anything near the quality locally, I do also however recommend Singhs in Gravesend for quality which I feel is on a par with this little gem. Well done Mo, keep it up.

We have just had a superb Indian takeaway tonight from this takeaway. It was superb, the food was piping hot and was all cooked to perfection. The peshwari naans were amazing. I haven't had such a good takeaway for a long long time. Thank you.

We have tried other takeaways but always go back to Bearsted Spice they are very helpful Food is always good great vegetarian dishes and great choice for meat dishes

Ordered a large delivery and took about 45 mins. Perfect. Nothing missed off the menu either. Perfect. Price was good and being a Saturday night was overall very pleased. I had a Madras, it just wasn't to my taste buds.The Keema Namme was lovely. So Overall a good all rounder

Stopped off on my way home to pick up a meal, Excellent service by an English "frontman" polite and humourous, food cooked by young Indian guys. Absolutely lovely, piping hot and fresh, had to eat it in two sittings; ( love cold Indian). Top class.

We have used Bearsted Spice for a year but recently they have gone really downhill. Tonight they delivered the wrong meal for me and included prawns in a lamb meal. I am allergic to prawns. The vindaloo delivered for my partner was like gravy. When we called to complain the manager couldn’t have cared less, saying he was too busy to do anything and blaming any problems on his chef. He was rude and offhand. They have just lost a regular customer forever. Just awful. Avoid.

Placed V'day order at 5.45pm was told 3 dishes would not be ready unril 7!? Got there for 6.50pm & had to wait until 7.30pm!! Chicken Dhansak chewy tough & not hot!? Lamb Biryani £9.95 with one piece of Lamb!! Very very disappointing Valentine's dinner will never ever use again!!

I ordered for myself and family and was told a 30 minute waiting time for collection. Arrived at shop and had a further 45 minute wait. Very disappointing apology and unsatisfactory conclusion. There will be no repeat business.

I've tried a few indian takeaways while working away from home here in Maidstone, this is the one I always come back to. The food is really good, the vindaloo has an excellent flavour with heat, quite often you only get heat. All the other dishes I have tried have been equally as good. Staff always friendly and chat while I wait. Excellent takeaway.

I've been coming here for a number of years now and it's simply the best Indian takeaway in the Maidstone area. I order once or twice a week. It has amazing, fresh, flavourful food. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. My favourite takeaway.

Had a take away from here and it was restaurant standard very fresh and tasty I would defiantly recommend 100% will be ordering here again for sure :)

last week I ordered curry from here it was superb. Both of us enjoyed. my children love to visit this place.people are so nice, very polite.

Only ordered about 4 times in the last 12 months - takeaway service only. 3 out of those 4 occasions we got home to find food missing from the order. Went back - was told they'd make it up on next order. Never happened - but that's partly my fault as I forgot too ! Last order (last week), did it online - paid by PayPal - had it delivered. Food was average (and I'm not just saying that!) - it's average. Order delivered - I questioned the driver with 'is it definitely all there' - was told yes. Driver leaves, we unpack and sure enough the Onion Bhaji's are missing!!!! Now, I emailed them immediately and got an automated response. I thought hey I paid via PayPal - I'll go through the right channel. No response from the Takeaway. We're now a week later and still no response or reply. I'd go there myself but wasting my time - all I want is £2.95 refunded because of missing food - again!! Won't be using this takeaway again. We did have one nice meal - the first one - but the rest have been average.

Ordered food on a Saturday night took over 2hrs 40 mins to arrive. I was told by worker the food would be here in 15 mins, 35 mins later I phoned again spoke with the owner, he was apologetic on the phone about the 1st man making a mistake I had a long conversation with him explained my situation. He blamed the delay on the website I had used. He agreed it was not fair and explained if I wanted a refund to contact that website I placed the order with which I did for them to say he refused to refund me claiming he had given us free food which we did not receive it was a shame because the food was good apart from the chicken pakora they were more like a chicken nugget!!!!

This is the best Indian food I've had so far in the UK. Quality ingredients, quality made. If you are in the area and want Indian food, you would be foolish to not order here. Take away only, I'd eat at the curb to enjoy it again.

Lamb was not very tender at all, the online booking did not work either, nothing ready when i turned up to collect, the staff did not have any knowledge about my order.

Delivery took 2 hours after being told it would be 1. Food was cold and phone took ages to be answered. Very unhappy.

Just received my online order and I have to say that the young Ghanaian guy who's just delivered to me was the nicest guy! I think he must be very new because he didn't quite know what to do or say at first but it totally makes a difference to have someone so friendly and smiley deliver food to you! Usually the food here is good but whenever I order the chicken tikka it always seems to be tough like it's been reheated in the microwave. Apart from that though the mixed pickle is lovely and the service is good too

We had a weekend at the Great Danes hotel near Leeds castle outside of Miadstone, and decided to go for a Chinese. There was only 1 Chinese restaurant shown on trip advisor, which turn out to be close down. So after having a walk around the town centre. We could not find another Chinese or Indian we got back in the car and when looking for a restaurant. We found the Spice Usion at Bearsted. What a great place very welcoming staff. Lovely atmosphere, clean with great decor, and really tasty food. Will be going there again next time we are in the area.

Very good curry. a bit noisy from the attached pub but great food. Service on a friday night was a bit... iffy... but the food more than compensated for it.Must remember to book in advance as we were turned back twice now due to lack of room!

this is a little gem tucked out the way the food here is good value and tasty and they keep records etc so if you phone they know who is calling and your address etc give it a try

I live in Alington, Maidstone. I use to visit community hall behind Berated spice and one night I have tried there food which was excellent. The food was hot and tasty whereas I have tried quite a few restaurants or takeaways in Maidstone, I never found this kind of food before. They also do home delivery. Definitely, I will come back again and recommend to my friends and family.

I'm inclined to agree with the review titled "disappointing" - this used to be my takeaway of choice and I have had many very good meals from here over the years. Quite recently, however, it has fallen far and fast. I know that it isn't likely that you'll be getting yesterdays food that has been warmed up - but given the texture and flavour of some of the menu items I have to wonder. They have the look, texture and taste of re-heated food. In any case, whatever you order is going to be considerably under par - you'll be better off seeking a take away from somewhere else.

This is our favourite Indian takeaway. The menu is quite varied and the food is of good quality. We like to try different dishes on our visit and we are always pleased with our choice. The staff extremely polite and attentive amd there food is not greasy and oily as some indian in Maidstone. Definitely we gonna recommend our friends and family.

We've been ordering take aways here for years and they have generally been ok to good although have gone downhill recently. Having ordered tonight (and waited the required 35 minutes) we went to collect our order, paid for the food and only then were told they'd run out of rice. Asking for our money back, prompted additional rice to be found (apparently from someone else's order). One meal (chicken tikka kurma) was good fine. One (chicken saag) was disappointing with very dry chicken which had obviously been cooked some time ago and one (king prawn biryani) surprisingly contained chicken too, was cold and lacked the usual vegetable curry. Sadly I think we will be finding another venue to buy our curry in future.
