Great experience eating at this restaurant, the mood is good with a few classical songs playing in the background. The Green Curry is slightly spicy and definitely an item to try (especially with rice). The Pad Thai is also great, I ordered the Pad Thai Prawn. The Thai milk tea is sweet and gives a tropical feel. The staff were friendly and I will definitely come back whenever I crave Thai cuisine

We tried to give a second chance after they failed to delier a takeaway which was six years ago. Today they put us right next to the kitchen, then servers started kicking my chair constantly never apologised. I asked to move to another table she said will do in a minute. Then our food arrived, I reminded to change she then showed me the other chair at the same table. The whole time the staff were too loud and careless. So second chance has failed too, never again even though the food was good.

A very disappointing experience this evening. Although it was relatively busy, it took ten minutes to even be acknowledged. After being shown to our table, it took another fifteen minutes before anyone asked about drinks. When we informed the waitress we were ready to order food, she replied, "my colleague will be over for that." Thirty minutes later, there was still no sign of our drinks, no apology, and our meal order had not been taken. There is no excuse for such exceptionally poor service. While the atmosphere is pleasant, the service was so lacking that it completely ruined the experience.

Venue is so pretty and comfortable. Service is great and staff are very nice. The food is good and great value.

I've reviewed before and gave a poor rating due to extremely slow service during the Sunday Buffet and staff looked and sounded miserable . We we've been a few times now after a long hiatus and I must say they have turned things around for the better. Service was fast and friendly, food brought out freshly made and quickly. Food is unreal and great value at £25 pp. Would highly recommend.

This restaurant was a great venue for dinner overlooking the river. The lady who took our drink & food orders was well organised, polite and efficient. The food is first class, the starters were outstanding. Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant.

Hugely disappointing. Stir fry veg and tofu with pineapple missing the pineapple and only two pieces of tofu. The tofu massaman was even worse … not sure how long the tofu had been left out. Tiny pieces that were just about inedible they were so chewy, and only one potato. Worst takeaway I’ve had in a longtime. Lovely staff and quick service, but not good enough.

First time at this establishment . Family of 12 had an excellent time celebrating a 21st. Food and service were excellent and good value. Wine list is offering only a small choice but very good for the price in what you could choose. Decor and feel of the restaurant were lovely. This place needs closing down, the meal they served us was by far the most horrendous meal we have ever tried to eat. The team members seemed like they did t want to be there as no interest in giving good service. The wine list was straight from the shelves of Asda. The place empty with the exception of three drunk and noisy homeless old men. We will most certainly not be returning.

Fantastic place to eat! Situated on the river in Maidstone. It's a lovely venue for great Thai food. My Wife had the Thai Green and myself the Thai Red, both delicious! It's really good value too. The staff were lovely and very friendly. Can't wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu!

The food is fantastic and it's priced very reasonably. We went as a couple and sat upstairs which overlooks the river. All the staff were friendly and served us very quickly. I would highly recommend getting the orchid platter for two and the crispy duck.

The food - moo ka ta, som tam, drinks - was delicious, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere overall was perfect. It was worth coming from London. Wonderful place.

Worst service ever from this place, slow over an hour late delivery and not hot when it arrived. We use these a lot shame for them because we won't be returning.

Food is absolutely glorious, and a pleasant (if someone's very busy) atmosphere. My wife has several serious food allergies and the restaurant manager could not have been more attentive. Not a particularly cheap evening out, with cocktails, but well worth it.

Ordered for 6.15. Called the restaurant to ensure they had seen the note to remove egg from the Pad Thai. Order arrived at 6.45 and had egg in. Restaurant agreed to recent and said it would take 25-35minutes to arrive. Ended up taking another 45 minutes. Food arrived soggy (original order) and swimming in oil (replacement pad thai). I would not order from them again.

If you’re looking for Thai in Maidstone then this is the place to go. The ambience of the restaurant is great, and everyone is very warm and welcoming from the moment you set foot in the door. You go through the bar to get to the restaurant, and the bar looks a really nice place for a drink. The restaurant is on the upper level and overlooks the river Medway. The decor is very tasteful and only adds to the atmosphere. We had a mixed platter starter. It was all really good. The only minor criticism was the Tung Thong chicken balls; they were a slightly odd texture. Leaving that aside, the chicken satay, spring rolls etc were all lovely. For main I had green curry and someone else had a massaman curry (which I also tried!). The sauces were all of a very tasty, high standard. The chicken was well cooked. The sticky rice was a great accompaniment. I was full up by the end. All in all, a great dining experience.

Just moved to the area and saw this impressive restaurant the other day so I decited to try my favorite Thai food today.Veggie tempura was very greasy almost cold and not fresh.Pad Thai was tasteless and full of shredded carrot and what makes a good original Pad Thai is lime and coriander which was not in there. I also ask to make my food spicy but that was not the case at all.Maybe they have there own way of cooking it but it was very disapointing.Will not reorder or go there again.

Driver can’t find my address in the town centre. It is unreasonable! And the delay made all the foods cold and dry. not recommended to order delivery from this restaurant.

Really disappointed with the order from there. Completely get it was a Saturday night however order was 35 minutes late meaning waiting 1 hour 35 for an order. Food arrived stone cold. Completely ruined my birthday meal.

I can't explain how hot this food was. It was like it was cooked and then put in my mouth!!! Incredible tasing green and red curry. Will deffinately order again!

Unfortunately yet again food ordered was not food delivered No Pad Thai Chicken and no Massaman Curry Very expensive for what we actually received will not bother again which is a shame as we have been ordering from here for some years.

Be very careful about their carpark, they don't have any sign on the actual thai orchid restaurant upstairs to login the car registration number. (only a small screen on the downstairs pub which i thought it is a separated business) I was the customer on 21st May 2023 , paid a lot money for drink and food. But got a their carpark fine £170 ! Rang the restaurant, they don't want to help, and then call again, they never answer my calls anymore. What a horrible experience!

My partner and I have just eaten here and we’re very disappointed. We have always enjoyed the food here but today the food was mediocre, service really slow considering the restaurant was no where near as busy as it used to be.and overpriced. Such a shame and we will not be returning.

Really amazing food and lovely people serving. We tried the Thai green chicken, Thai red prawn, lamb massaman, pad Thai, sea bass and each dish was delightful. The views are to match, fully recommend.

Went for my birthday and I absolutely love Thai food however, the lamb was not edible as there was so much hard fat that I could not chew it. My wife had the duck which consisted of mainly skin and fat. So so disappointed as it looked lovely online. Personally, I could not recommend this to anyone

Literally just left the place and now back at our hotel. We are stuffed! Delicious food, lovely staff, and value for money. I was worried, as I had read previous reviews here after booking.... All I can say is I had nothing but a gorgeous early dinner, and fantastic service. We asked for everything to be brought out as and when it's ready, so the mixed starter for 2, Thai prawn crackers, crispy duck pancakes, and special fried rice. I had a Pina colada, and my hubby had two ice cold beers, delicious!! Very reasonably priced, and staff were attentive. Keep in mind we dined at 5pm, and it was not busy, but due to the excellent food, I can imagine that it could get a bit overwhelming for the staff... So be kind, it's worth the wait.

Messed up the evening by delivering so late. This restaurant cannot seem to get it right: in the past they have delivered early by up to a hour.

Sadly I have to give this a 3 star even though the food was great. When we arrived it was just thumping pub music blaring up the stairs. don't get me wrong it was good music but when you go to a thai restaurant you don't expect dance music bass thumping through the floor and up the stairs. Unfortunately they are extremely short staffed with only 3 workers covering food orders and the bar. We waited 25minutes before we could make a drink and food order, this was after getting staffs attention and being told twice "just 2 minutes and we'll be with you". The food was the saving grace as it was good food. I won't be coming back for the simple fact of seeing people arrive and get served before me even after getting staffs attention is just not acceptable. I always give places a chance as people can call in sick and throw the rota out the window but knowing the service to expect i'd rather try another place in future.

We used to enjoy dining out here on a Sunday afternoon until quite recently. Service can very often be slow, and although the Sunday Buffet was great value at £17-18 per person, Thai Orchid have put their prices up significantly. So much so that it is no longer feasible to visit anywhere near as often as before.

Compared to the Whitstable branch this is sadly quite bad, we arrived at 5.30 and at 7pm only had starters which they got wrong! Only one lady appears to take orders and the other waiting stuff look scared of her! Curries were lovely however, pad thai was burnt along with the spring rolls! More waiting stuff required, ones which can also take orders! I fear this restaurant may be going down the pan if they don’t adapt! We were not the only ones unhappy!

Have been to Thai orchid a few times for dinner but had our first go at the Sunday buffet this weekend. It’s not set up like a traditional buffet, you’re able to order 2 dishes each at a time, as many times as you would like. I thought this was such a great way to do it. We definitely wasted less food and it meant that every dish came out fresh and was so full of flavour. There’s a really good variety on the menu and you can go back to starters even if you’ve moved on to mains. We ordered some extra prawn tempura with our mains because they were so delicious! The staff were so helpful and friendly and really quick with plates and bills. The only feedback we would have was for our in laws. They aren’t amazing with spicy food and would have liked some kind of indicator of how hot the dishes are 🙈. Not a problem for us but I think some might not be ready for the spice levels! Proper, fresh Thai food, for £20 a head. I think this is due to go up to £25 a head but the quality would still be worth it, for sure.
