Food was great, service was perfect and we had a great view out over the river and Maidstone.

Staff are so nice, food was absolutely amazing, didn't take too long to come out. Wonderful atmosphere, very welcoming. Good prices too and it was just an amazing experience overall, would definitely recommend and will be coming back again!

Worst service ever from this place, slow over an hour late delivery and not hot when it arrived. We use these a lot shame for them because we won't be returning.

Food is absolutely glorious, and a pleasant (if someone's very busy) atmosphere. My wife has several serious food allergies and the restaurant manager could not have been more attentive. Not a particularly cheap evening out, with cocktails, but well worth it.

If you’re looking for Thai in Maidstone then this is the place to go. The ambience of the restaurant is great, and everyone is very warm and welcoming from the moment you set foot in the door. You go through the bar to get to the restaurant, and the bar looks a really nice place for a drink. The restaurant is on the upper level and overlooks the river Medway. The decor is very tasteful and only adds to the atmosphere. We had a mixed platter starter. It was all really good. The only minor criticism was the Tung Thong chicken balls; they were a slightly odd texture. Leaving that aside, the chicken satay, spring rolls etc were all lovely. For main I had green curry and someone else had a massaman curry (which I also tried!). The sauces were all of a very tasty, high standard. The chicken was well cooked. The sticky rice was a great accompaniment. I was full up by the end. All in all, a great dining experience.

Be very careful about their carpark, they don't have any sign on the actual thai orchid restaurant upstairs to login the car registration number. (only a small screen on the downstairs pub which i thought it is a separated business) I was the customer on 21st May 2023 , paid a lot money for drink and food. But got a their carpark fine £170 ! Rang the restaurant, they don't want to help, and then call again, they never answer my calls anymore. What a horrible experience!

Staff are very slow has to keep reminding them of order. I asked for water with 4 different Staff before we received it

My partner and I have just eaten here and we’re very disappointed. We have always enjoyed the food here but today the food was mediocre, service really slow considering the restaurant was no where near as busy as it used to be.and overpriced. Such a shame and we will not be returning.

Really amazing food and lovely people serving. We tried the Thai green chicken, Thai red prawn, lamb massaman, pad Thai, sea bass and each dish was delightful. The views are to match, fully recommend.

Went for my birthday and I absolutely love Thai food however, the lamb was not edible as there was so much hard fat that I could not chew it. My wife had the duck which consisted of mainly skin and fat. So so disappointed as it looked lovely online. Personally, I could not recommend this to anyone

Literally just left the place and now back at our hotel. We are stuffed! Delicious food, lovely staff, and value for money. I was worried, as I had read previous reviews here after booking.... All I can say is I had nothing but a gorgeous early dinner, and fantastic service. We asked for everything to be brought out as and when it's ready, so the mixed starter for 2, Thai prawn crackers, crispy duck pancakes, and special fried rice. I had a Pina colada, and my hubby had two ice cold beers, delicious!! Very reasonably priced, and staff were attentive. Keep in mind we dined at 5pm, and it was not busy, but due to the excellent food, I can imagine that it could get a bit overwhelming for the staff... So be kind, it's worth the wait.

Sadly I have to give this a 3 star even though the food was great. When we arrived it was just thumping pub music blaring up the stairs. don't get me wrong it was good music but when you go to a thai restaurant you don't expect dance music bass thumping through the floor and up the stairs. Unfortunately they are extremely short staffed with only 3 workers covering food orders and the bar. We waited 25minutes before we could make a drink and food order, this was after getting staffs attention and being told twice "just 2 minutes and we'll be with you". The food was the saving grace as it was good food. I won't be coming back for the simple fact of seeing people arrive and get served before me even after getting staffs attention is just not acceptable. I always give places a chance as people can call in sick and throw the rota out the window but knowing the service to expect i'd rather try another place in future.

We used to enjoy dining out here on a Sunday afternoon until quite recently. Service can very often be slow, and although the Sunday Buffet was great value at £17-18 per person, Thai Orchid have put their prices up significantly. So much so that it is no longer feasible to visit anywhere near as often as before.

Compared to the Whitstable branch this is sadly quite bad, we arrived at 5.30 and at 7pm only had starters which they got wrong! Only one lady appears to take orders and the other waiting stuff look scared of her! Curries were lovely however, pad thai was burnt along with the spring rolls! More waiting stuff required, ones which can also take orders! I fear this restaurant may be going down the pan if they don’t adapt! We were not the only ones unhappy!

Beautiful views, food was wonderful - asked the staff for recommendations. Really enjoyed the piña colada mocktail. Crispy sweet chilli duck also amazing. Lovely place to go for dinner.

Have been to Thai orchid a few times for dinner but had our first go at the Sunday buffet this weekend. It’s not set up like a traditional buffet, you’re able to order 2 dishes each at a time, as many times as you would like. I thought this was such a great way to do it. We definitely wasted less food and it meant that every dish came out fresh and was so full of flavour. There’s a really good variety on the menu and you can go back to starters even if you’ve moved on to mains. We ordered some extra prawn tempura with our mains because they were so delicious! The staff were so helpful and friendly and really quick with plates and bills. The only feedback we would have was for our in laws. They aren’t amazing with spicy food and would have liked some kind of indicator of how hot the dishes are 🙈. Not a problem for us but I think some might not be ready for the spice levels! Proper, fresh Thai food, for £20 a head. I think this is due to go up to £25 a head but the quality would still be worth it, for sure.

What a shame, been here countless times before and always recommended to friends. Today will be the last time. Managed to get a discount off the bill, but it was not an enjoyable experience in any way that you'd expect it to be

I want to love this place, we have been there a few times. The food is very good and plentiful but we waited nearly an hour for our starters, in fact one of the waitresses came up and asked us if we enjoyed our food and was surprised to see that we hadn't received it. The mains came out quicker. It was a Friday night, and it was busy but we saw people getting served who had ordered after us. It is also very noisy as the DJ from the bar downstairs started up. Note to self: go during the week next time, if my husband agrees to go there again.

The owner of the restaruant is clearly very bias. They way she treats certain customers ia very different to how she treats others. I was made to feel unfortable and unwelcome. Do not come here if you value good customer service.

Booked a table for 7:30pm, at 8:30pm was still waiting to be seated. Went upstairs to Restaurant to check on progress, was told table would be 5 minutes, it wasn't ! Restaurant also stank of Body Odour. Decided to leave, won't be returning.

Nice place for Moo lrata feeling like go back to Thailand once we ate there, the owner pretty noce recommended to have Moo krata there during Sat-Sun

Food was very late and didn't taste like authentic pad Thai. The green curry was very watery. But reasonably priced. I would suggest improve the food and service and increase the price. Cutting price and cost is not always the best route to go

We love this restaurant, the food is extremely good, the staff always seem friendly and happy, serving us with a smile everytime. Nothing is too much for them. I highly recommend the Sunday buffet.

Beautiful and serene atmosphere to dine. Food was very fresh and delicious. Customer service first to none and not received that good service in a long time. Prices a bit on the high side but will compensate that with the quality of good and service. I'll be visiting again and again. Thank you for a good night and a very nice delicious meal.

Amazing view with even better food and service. There was politeness all round! Their Thai Green curry had the perfect amount of kick to it. So fragrant and delicious. Well worth the money spent!!

The environment was good,price was okay, but It was very very slow and only one lady takes the order, 3 of us only can order 3 dishes every time and waited very long time for next chance to order them. The Thai curry was too sweet. I wouldn't go there again.

Not well organised, inadequately staffed. Waited too long for our starters and mains orders to be taken. Nobody in our party was happy about the quality of the food or presentation. Service wasn't good with the exception of the young lady at reception downstairs and the friendly Barman.

Ordered a vegetarian platter that had prawn toast!!! When pointed out to staff, hardly any acknowledgement of the mistake which is pretty serious. No service, had to chase for food and drink. Didn't leave a tip and probably won't book again.

The food and service was flawless, some of the best food I've ever had, the servers were so attentive, the food was serves fast and quality you got for the price you paid was unbelievable. I will definitely go back!!! I've given a 3 star for atmosphere however as the restaurant was a little dirty with our table being sticky and old food on the floor. But don't let that stop you, I can't wait to go back!

Good night at our friends birthday party

Came for the first time and had the Sunday buffet upstairs. Was pleasantly surprised at how fresh everything was for a buffet, as they come around to ask what you want and everything is made to order. Highly recommend the pork skewers! For under £18pp this has been a great find and we will be back

We decided to celebrate my son's birthday as we have been here before. Food is nice but service is terrible. We spent an hour waiting to order our 2nd starter and being serve. In fact, myself and family is waiting whilst writing this review. Everytime you get a staff to request to order, they refer us to a lady who just appears to be overwhelmed. I could.understand that the place is busy but why just limit the ordering to one person. This is a ploy to delay the food output. Bearing in mind that it is Sunday evwning, they should anticipate this possibility that it could be hectic. As much as i try to understand, this whole experience has taken it another level of wait all you can buffet. The mere fact that they have the audacity to ask us to move our table to accommodate another guest. I will never go back to this place. SO PEOPLE, IF YOU LIKE TO WAIT FOR YOUR MEAL, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. I would.never come.back to this place again.

Absolutely brilliant, it was busy and load due to a big party, so we can put that aside. The staff were all very nice and the food was amazing.....Sunday buffet was extremely good value for money. The food had clearly been cooked fresh which is so much nicer than normal buffet food.

Waited over an hou and half r for starters. Resturant is more concerned with parties downstairs rather then the restaurant. Service is non existent. Awful never recommend going.

1st time visit for both my friend and I, and it didn't disappoint. Service was really good and the food was beautiful. We went at lunchtime but chose not to have the lunch set menu, which is an amazing £8.95 for 2 courses! It was my friends bison we wanted to have the choice of the full menu. It was amazing, and we will definitely be back!

Every single element of every dish was superb, even down to each of the vegetables in the rice! Absolutely fantastic food. A thoroughly enjoyable meal from start to finish.

Went to buy takeway parked my car on there car park and get charged by the civil enforsment for parking there. Have tried to explain but unfortunately no luck. Otherwise the food is kind of okay.

No labelling food. Mixing veg with chicken. Several different rolls, duck, veg and chicken mixed up. Have no idea what we eatting. Rice missing and vegetable dish has chicken in it. Shocking. Ruined whole evening dinner.

It was on my birthday and my partner and myself decided to have some Thai food and since we have visited many times before and was always treated well it was our first choice and it was a very good choice.I did enjoy my birthday that day with my partner we had nice delicious food will always go back as long as they maintain the high standard like we have always experienced from them,a lovely team,thank you so much for looking after us.

We visit probably once a week due to the locality, even if it is to visit friends in the bar downstairs. It was 6pm on a Friday so was quiet, the service and food was excellent as always. The extra dry chilli offered for our pad Thai really made a difference mainly due to liking my food spicy.. Will ask for the chilli again next time I have the very tasty dish….👏👏

We have been frequently the Sunday Buffet for the last 3 plus years but over the last few months our visits have been less frequent due to the poor service. We enjoy the food as it’s made fresh and there are a few favourites on the menu. Some dishes do become quite ‘samey’ but there’s always something for everyone. The service is shocking though. The older lady who I think is the owner runs a tight ship. She doesn’t delegate some of the pertinent tasks like order taking and bar tending to her floor staff and there’s never enough staff to cope. We never see the same staff so I assume she has a high turnover which doesn’t surprise me because she can be quite curt and rude to them. The staff are always so friendly and lovely but if you chase an order or try place an order they have to revert to her. For a buffet, although you can ‘eat as much as you like’ past your 3rd order (portions are small) it becomes more and more difficult to get her attention. Today we were there for 2 1/2 hours and gave up even though we weren’t yet done. Also there was no beef at all today which did restrict what my husband could order because he doesn’t eat seafood. Unlikely to go back.

Can’t give it no stars!! Went there to use the taste card, emailed and asked waitress if we could use it and all was ok until the manager refused to take it after we had eaten on the grounds that it was a Friday night!! Massive rip off!!

Good food, repeat servings reduce waste. Singha beer on tap. Parking opposite at public car park ok. Allocated slots full so used public car park. Had to careful how many Singha had :-)

A great restaurant, fantastic service, amazing food and extremely good value for money. Was there 14.12.22 with Maidstone HMCTS on a business lunch and everything was perfect. Thank you to the staff. Everything was exceptional.

Amazing food every time and fairly priced. I've been here 3 times already, after being back from Thailand now for about 6 weeks. The food here is authentic Thai, incredible and delicious. It's not always on the menu but I always ask for Thai sticky rice and they always bring it. I will definitely be back again soon. Usually a few items on the menu that are vegan.

The food was ok, I mean, it was edible. Despite calling on a Tuesday and leaving a voice message on the answer machine asking to book the following evening under meerkat meals, when it came to pay they didn't want to honour the meerkat meals. The answer message said someone would get back to us, they never did. The lady who came over was abrupt and rude and said that we should have told the.member of staff who took us to the table that we had the voucher. She then back tracked and said the lady that showed us to our table should have asked if we had any vouchers. All in all an unpleasant experience. I will never eat here again.

Party of 6 we were all very happy choosing to dine at Thai Orchid. Amazing food really lovely flavors and very generous portions. Service was very good everyone really friendly. Hot plates and food served hot. Nice beers also thought the price for the meal and drinks was very good. Only slight criticism was personally think would have been nice to have dimmer lighting, bright lights didn't create ambience. Kudos to the chefs. Highly recommended.

A large party (14) on a Saturday night in a fairly full restaurant and they coped very well. Portions bigger than expected, making for good value. Food was delicately spiced, very flavoursome and delicious. A bit noisy, although we probably contributed a lot to this! Plentiful parking at Lockmeadow nearby and free after 18:30.

I ordered a pan fried chicken dish (Nam Prik Pow) and sticky rice. The chicken dish arrvived with no sauce and the rice was completely stale. I called to have it re-delivered. What they sent me was a container of sauce and another stale brick of rice. This has happened to me twice now with this place. Used to have it regularly but will now never touch this place again. Don't know whether its under new management or something but the place is abismal.

It was a lovely atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was nice and hot large variety of different dishes to choose from. Also It was my sisters 26th birthday and they gave her a birthday cake. Which was really lovely. Since our initial visit we have gone back a second time. The food is that good

今天試Thai Orchid午餐，真的唔錯，叫了set Lunch，頭盤的蝦多士蝦肉和多士份量好平均，春卷內的粉絲又非常多，之後叫了Green curry chicken rice，Green curry內有很香椰汁味，最重要服務好

Food was good but not exceptional. Had Thai green chicken curry which a waitress said was hotter than the red but in fact was very mild. Red curry was too sweet. No gluten free menu was available on request but senior member of staff able to advise once waitress aware that her understanding was very limited. Having said this, staff were efficient and friendly. No bottles of Prosecco available, selling individual bottles at a higher price instead. Price reasonable.

1st time trying today Very tasty food, went for the Sunday all you can eat. Had 2 starters then a main with noodles and because I was greedy tried another main. Left with a very full belly Decent size portions Wasn’t particularly busy tonight so food was served quickly. Price for two of us £55 and that was with two alcoholic drinks each Definitely going again

Down for a surprise party and decided to pop in for lunch. Nice little restaurant. Giid choice for lunch. Price ok as well. Had a lovely meal. Hopefully be back for an evening meal as there is more of a choice.

I really enjoy Thai food but sadly not today. I ordered a Pad Thai with chicken but immediately could taste something unpleasant. I was lasked if I'd had Thai food before as there was nothing wrong with the Pad Thai. I asked to change it to something else, a Green Curry. I then waited for alomst 30 minutes. It was ok, but lacked depth and infusion of ingredients to make it memberable. When the bill came the waiter left both dishes on. I asked if they wanted me to pay for both and he said he'd check with the chef. He came back and said there was nothing wrong with the Pad Thai and it must have been the way I tasted it. He thanked me for the feedback as 'it made a difference'. I didn't see how. So a disappointing meal and even more disappointing customer service experience. I doubt I'll spend another £50 at Thai orchid, Maidstone.

First time at The Thai Orchid. Amazing, friendly service. Staff super helpful, smiley and generally friendly. Wonderful food and delicious cocktails. We ordered a few different dishes (everything looked soo amazing, we couldn't decide) and just dipped in. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation. The crispy duck was absolutely delicious! There was a lovely view of the river, would be very romantic in the evening I think. We booked for 4pm and was quiet. Will definitely be returning.

I can't emphasise how amazing of a place this is. The deals here seem too good to be true because the food is phenomenal. The staff are really helpful and patient when explaining deals and they really do act like they want you to have the best time. I can't wait to come back- any celebration will be an excuse to return with friends and family!
