The delivery was fine but the food wasn't the best to be honest and it was like warm. probably wouldn't order from here again

No photos as needed to eat. Excellent food and service. Not rushed as this is what we like. Highly recommend.. hubby loved the chicken shashlik. Cooked to perfection 👌 👍

Have been eating regularly at the Spice Hut for many years. The service is impeccable with staff being very attentive. The menu is varied and food is fabulous. The atmosphere is friendly and very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Meat in 3 of the curries was dry. Overall flavour of the curry was nice but a little disappointing.

The staff and food at The Spice Hut are wonderful. Always a warm welcome, friendly and very attentive. We were a group of 7 with 2 kids (one of which a fussy eater) they were so kind and got the little one nuggets and chips so we had one very happy boy. The rest of us opted for banquet offer, such a great price. All good was fresh, hot and delicious. We couldn't ask for more.

Didn’t book. But got in straight. Away. Order came and was incorrect. And correct order came very soon, as if it was already cooked waiting. Waited a long time to pay bill. Food was average and service not great

Ordered 2 dishes 1 rice 2 naans and a few little side bits, poppadoms mango chutney onion salad. 44 quid. I wasn't allowed to keep my receipt from the delivery driver. The dishes were very stingy not a lot of chicken. The sauces were very watery and not a lot of flavour. Onion Bhajis I got two. This place is taking advantage of people. It's a rip off. And they don't take any pride in cooking there own cuisine, bland. I would stay well away

Amazing food. Went with family on Friday night the service was really good, they treated us if we visited their family home. the food was amazing too from biryani to curries it was excellent. Being a Bangladeshi myself i can approve the local punters are getting quality food from this place which is rare nowadays.

My family and I often come to the curry house and to put it lightly we are never disappointed, wether we are getting take away or eating in the food is always delicious with many different dishes ranging in spice and really their is something for most people. It has a nice atmosphere and is great for just a general dinner out or for a special event. Would recommend to anyone in the area who enjoys delicious India food.

I visited the Spice Hut to order a takeaway a few weeks back, and it was one of the best Indian's I've had in a long time. I used to be a regular visitor to this restaurant many years ago, but I moved out of the area. We loved the takeaway so much that we returned for a meal in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and welcoming. All went out of their way to make our son enjoy this experience. We ordered Meat Thali's as these are something we can never find in any other restaurants. These offer such a great selection of food and just the right amount in each dish. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavour! I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often, but having an occasional treat still works for us. I highly recommend this busy/popular Indian. All customers seemed to know the staff and owner, so it was clear this is a highly respected and regarded place that many frequently return to.

Took a very long time to be delivered and once delivered food was pretty cold.

I hadn't been here for a very long time. I'm happy to say the food is as delicious as ever. They catered very well for our table of 13. Especially as there was another large party upstairs and a couple more large groups downstairs. No idea how they managed to serve so many big groups so well. Parking is easy as there is a pay and display almost opposite on Wheeler St.

Great food and delivery. Did have a problem though with Just Eat app taking the payment from my bank but not placing the order so had to reorder and raise dispute with bank to get money back.

Had lots of great meals from spice hut, have always been a chosen place for a curry, service is generally good aswell as wait times and some great food from this place , the last time was however let down a little as the wait was longer than normal for our mains (the restaurant was busy but just as busy as normal), what did let it down for us was when the food came out one of the rices looked a little more sparse than normal and the man serving the food had in fact got rice in his beard , I do not want to throw the accusation out but it definitely let the service down

I am no stranger to this restaurant and have never been disappointed. Last night was fabulous. The restaurant was very busy yet the food was just amazing, especially the salmon tikka starter and vegetable biryani. Sides and nam bread delicious. It was very kind on the pocket and seamlessly hosted by the long term proprietor and his experienced and friendly team. A triumph!

Great service with a wonderful carpet. I had had a terrifying premonition involving battery hens the night before so I was completely enchanted by the painting of "5 eggs on holiday somewhere in Africa or Brazil. Ideal those with a love of chilli and fine art

Just had a takeaway from here for 2 people the total cost was £34.00 the food we received was terrible my wife’s chicken dish The meat tasted like wood makes me wonder if the chef tastes his cooking my dish was not much better turned up over 45minutes late don’t order takeout food often but would not recommend this place to any one.

Order was meant to arrive between 1900-1920 then said delayed till 1930. Arrived at 1955 in end and was cold. Also had to ring restaurant twice. Food tasted nice once we reheated it

Been going to the Spice hut for over 13 years and in the last few years their service has gone out of the window. Waited for 2 hours for them to deliver our food and for the third time in a row they forgot one of the main dishes (this order was only for 2 people #2mains2rice). Whoever is checking the deliveries before they get sent out, needs their eyes tested and some serious training on reading what is on the order tickets because there is a huge communication breakdown. Bye bye Spice hut, it was good while it lasted. Hello Al Amin.

The place, unfortunately, has a bit of an ex-seaside guesthouse breakfast room about it but once you get past that you will see that looks are immaterial (at least in terms of restaurants) as the star of any restaurant experience is indeed the food, which is very good here, delicious and generously served. The staff were attentive, although the French waiter, golden standard - omnipresent when needed, invisible when not - they were not but they were most accommodating and refused to charge me for a drink ordered after the bill was settled...which was cheap I thought...they also offered the rest of my party a gratis libation. Al lin all, a great first experience here

Generally it’s nice from here but the last order was so bad I had to leave a negative review. The chicken was tough and dry, the little amount of sauce I did get was watery and the poppadoms were stale. I ordered 3 curry’s and all 3 were thrown in the bin.

Not the greatest. Onion bharjees were overcooked (burnt) and had been "flattened" (squashed) in transit. Marsala sauce was very average - like tomato puree with some curry powder added and not cooked through properly.

We were staying in the town for the weekend and booked a table here for 8pm on Saturday night. We were eventually seated at 8.30, starters arrived at 9.15 and main courses just before 10pm - we weren’t the only table that seemed to be waiting too long for food, we heard others question it too. The restaurant was busy & staff doing their best but there seemed to be more takeaways/deliveries going on than looking after customers actually in the restaurant. Food was lovely when it arrived

Food delivered quickly, nice and hot. Everything was absolutely gorgeous. The lamb in the dhansak was so tender, to die for. Only ever eaten in, this was the first and certainly not the last time I order takeaway

Hadn't been here in years and thought give it a try as used to be one of the best around ..not great I'm afraid....we booked but we seemed to be plonked and packed in tight with other tables. Very hot and bright (not very relaxing) burnt and tasteless onion bhajees...quite disappointed to what it used to be like. Sorry

Arrived early and was nice and hot! Tasty food. Couldn’t fault it.

Food was good but service a little random. Some dishes got mixed up or weren't quite what were ordered but nice enough. The Tuesday night banquet option kept the price down and the drinks kept it up (as usual 😏) but an average £28 per head including about 2 pints each is reasonable. We took our own atmosphere with a party of 16 for a retirement celebration. I don't think we overran the restaurant and were separated from the main area enough to enjoy ourselves and preserve the privacy of the other diners. I'd recommend, just make sure of your order requirements and keep the drinks down. It'll be a good time.

Last week I received a shrimp curry instead of king prawn madras. This week a sag aloo arrived when I ordered sag paneer! Last week 35 minutes late, so some improvement. Used to be the best in town but standards have slipped.

We visited the Spice Hut for a large family meal on a busy Saturday night. This was my first visit to this highly recommended restaurant and it certainly lived up to its brilliant reputation. The staff we so friendly and excellent all night, and the food was out of this world, the best Indian we had had for a very very long time. Once again we would like to thank everyone from the Spice Hut for a great evening and we highly recommend that you visit, absolutely outstanding Restaurant.

We had a party of 9 of us on Saturday evening all though very noisy from the next table of young people I cannot fault the food and the service we had and the waiters were very friendly and cheerful.

2 hour wait and when delivered it was terrible value for money. £53 for 3 people should have been a feast. Half portion trays delivered. Average food. Disappointed.

Ordered for 7:15, no food or update at 7:40 called promised it would be 10-15 min. 20 min later someone drove past even though the name of the house is lit up. When we got it it was tasty.

Biggest rip off going. Payed £53 for THREE PEOPLE. That’s £18 per person. At a stance, that seems like a reasonable price for a seemingly good restaurant. But the portion sizes were ridiculously small. Just finished eating and I’m still starving. But don’t let this distract me from the fact it took 2 hours to deliver. Poor service, poor meal sizes, ridiculously expensive for average food. Won’t be buying from here again….
