Too bright & Freezing cold in there & small portions, will not be coming back

Very good would recommend large portions hot towels many choices to choose from and customer service is very good staff is very kind fresh food!!

the meal was fantastic i had the Rogan josh and nan bread , i haven't tasted a curry like that for years , bread came nice and thin and crispy just like i ordered its got to be the best Indian around Maidstone

Brought my daughter here over Christmas as we fancied a curry and not disappointed. We’d had a takeaway which was fine, but eating in was better. Lovely fresh food, great choice and good VFM in our opinion. We’ll definitely be back to our new local Indian Restaurant

First time ordering a takeaway from here. Food was ok however, the popodams were burnt and onion bajia starter was a little over cooked. Shame they don't do a set menu

Went here to eat in the other day to give it a go as had heard some good things. I was left feeling very disappointed I got the chicken jalfrazi and it was the blandest curry I’ve ever tasted it had no flavour at all! The rest was ok but not amazing I won’t be returning.

Had a lovely take away last Saturday .it was one of the best Indians I've ever had .lovely and hot and fresh .only live down the road . definitely would order again .compliments to the chefs

It was our anniversary this week end we chose Spice Lounge which is usually very good to get a take away. We and my son had lamb tikka starter, which was so dry and over cooked we could not eat it. The overall quality and quantity was not as good as previous times used to be good value for money but not now. I know cost of food has gone up, but if the quality and flavour is there you can excuse a drop in quantity. Very friendly staff though.

I have just had the best experience. Anhar and Attiqur were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. I tried a different dish to what I normally have and it was delicious. I couldn't reccomendad this place enough.

Being served by snails would be quicker! The service was so slow that we ended up being sat at a table for 3 hours and only managing a couple of popadoms while we pursued the menu and a single course. I appreciate that it was New Years Eve and we were a table of 15, but the kitchen just couldn’t keep up with the demand of restaurant food orders and take away. We had three young children in our party whom were really hard work as they were hungry and bored waiting and quite frankly so were we. In the end we had to chase 4 times for our meals and then had to wait 40 minutes for the bill in order to get the kids home to bed. I’m quite sure without the nagging we’d have been there for hours more! The food was tasty but certainly not worth the wait or price. £55 per couple for 1 course and 3 drinks!

Food was delicious but restaurant was very bright...I prefer the lighting from before that was more muted. Staff very friendly and the service was great.

My whole family Love a takeaway from the spice lounge. Always a great welcome and food is lovely. The Naga is a top hot curry ! and I love the onion bhaji. Im GF and have had no issues from the spice lounge. Haven't Dine'd in for a while now - but when we had it was always a top service . Car park can be a little busy at times esp with the new Tesco store onsite.

A pleasant meal. My fellow diner had a tandoori dish which he enjoyed. My vegetarian curry was less impressive. It was tasty but contained what looked like a lot of cabbage rather than a variety of vegetables. Service was extremely slow. Very good papadum platter to fill in the waiting time.

Horrendous Customer Service - the restaurant forgot to add our rice on our takeaway. When we called we could barely understand the very irate man on the end of the phone who said we had to go and pick it up or get a refund. We couldn't collect and how do you eat a curry without rice? The man would take no responsibility despite it being their error and refused to help us and was just very rude and shouty. Really unimpressed and will never use this takeaway again.

We are very lucky to have this gem or a Indian restaurant close to us. Always fresh, fragrant and perfectly prepared foods. No nasty food colourings, lots of fresh ingredients. Staff are very friendly and prices are good. I recommend the dhansak and Bhuna

First time to order here, wasn’t massively impressed. Had to add spices to my own food to make it taste like a decent curry. Majority of food had hardly any taste to it. Probably should’ve stuck to my usual Shamrat!

Tho the food was good the service was very slow, had a long wait this evening and noticed other tables the same, I ordered a drink when I started my main and was nearly half way through when my husband had to go to the bar and see why it was taking so long, it had been left on the bar and forgotten, he had to bring it himself .... .we won't be going back

Nice food with some different dishes that are not on most menus. Friendly and welcoming staff with food and drink served within a timely manner. The only thing we feel was lacking was some level background music. We will certainly be returning though to try out more dishes

Really good food and social distance tables really good but the state of the seating was off putting. The staff also had their face coverings below their nose which wasn’t good. Not sure I will be back.

First time I have been to restaurant and was very impressed. Staff were very professional and attentive without being over the top. Food was hot and tasty with decent size portions. Disabled person within the group had no issues regarding access. Would thoroughly recommend!

Glad to see the Spice Lounge re-open its doors. All efforts have been made to practice good social distancing by cutting capacity by half, so tables are quite far apart. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Good to see tables and chairs being wiped down when finished with, and readily available hand sanitizer by the entrance. The food was delicious, as usual, with the Bangla chicken being our favourite this time around. Recommended!

Really good, Covid safe restaurant. Well spaced out tables, plenty of anti bac, felt safe to eat here. The food is delicious, hot and fresh. Without a doubt the best Indian Restaurant around.

Visited spice lounge 14 07 20 arrived we were asked to sanitise hands and explained to how the Resteraunt was operating very important for our safety at moment staff were very attentive food was 1st class will definitely visit again

Had 5 main dishes plus rice ,naan breads and onion bhaji and everything was delicious and hot. Can’t wait to eat from here again

My family of 5 got a takeaway from here during the Covid-19 Lockdown. It was really delicious, and they were following sensible social distancing measures. We will definitely eat here again!

The most amazing curries every time .,., and the staff are wonderful and friendly

This was a fair trek from Tunbridge Wells but worth every mile driven. The poppadoms were crisp, the curries tasty and the service superb. Wheelchair access is level from the carpark through the rear firedoor or up a single small (estimate 5-7cm) step into the main restaurant.

Service From the waiting staff was very good but the food was the worst I have ever eaten in an Indian restaurant the chicken was dry no moisture the only decent thing was the naan bread please don’t waste your money by going to this restaurant. If you think this restaurant is good you must have very low standards.

Good food, great service, value for money.

We went mid week having not visited for a while and were not disappointed. The range of dishes available is large and the prices reasonable. All the food is nicely presented and very tasty. Mid week is quieter than a weekend but the service and food is just as good.

Midweek it is usually fairly quiet, consequently the service is very attentive. It did fall a little short of it's usual high standard but only in one respect, the main course chicken tikka was overcooked and rather dry, otherwise everything was very good.

It's never a good evening when you're just left waiting. Table booked for 7, get to table at half 7, don't get to order food for some reason until 8, get the food at 9. 20 minutes left with the desert menu then another 10 to get the bill and left another 20 minutes before coming to take our money. The food was fine, nothing to write home about but no complaints. It's not cool to keep people waiting like that, other people were complaining, I wouldn't go back.

Ordered a takeout, went to pick it up 90mins later as advised and they hadn’t started our order, so had to wait another 20 mins. When we got home the food was lukewarm and the lamb was chewy. They used to be very good.

OK at best... Food was a little greasy, a little bland, service was pretty slow and curt. Would I recommend, probably not; would I go back, unlikely!

Visited this evening. It seems that all the Indian Restaurants serve the same onion sauce with every curry.I would love to be able to taste a curry were actual spices are used.I had a Balti the like I have never eaten before it was so sweet. Please start investing in good spices and using them in the production of your dishes. The restaurant is well set out and could be excellent.

I am shocked that spice lounge gets a 4 star rating as the food is terrible. When you go to an Indian restaurant and can not even smell the food cooking then alarm bells ring for me.( microwave food comes to mind)I have never had tough chicken before but that’s what we got. The pilau rice was off white with no flavour, koftas tough, in-fact all the food we ordered was horrendous. I was surprised that so many people use the place as in my opinion they can’t cook...it seems like they get the food from the supermarket and then hot it up. Yuk. This is the first time I have ever been here and the last. What a waste of money....

Tried to book table for 7 pm but offered 7.30. By 7.45 we had our Popadoms and drinks but food did not arrive until 8.50 pm. Told Manager was never coming back as last two visits the service has been appalling - his response “that’s your opinion Madam”. This establishment needs to decide whether it is a Takeaway or a Restaurant! Oh there was no problem with drinks being served - the waiter must have asked us about 4 times if we wanted more drinks

I'm gutted that my local Indian restaurant has now closed, as the site is going to be turned in to flats.It was a cracking restaurant, with attentive staff, excellent service and the food was super.Such a shame to see it closed now! Thanks for all the good meals!

Fantastic evening, as always at the Spice Lounge! Best Indian food in the Maidstone area, lovely atmosphere & staff. Very sad that it is closing at the end of this month! Will be very much missed!! Where is the chef going!!!

Possibly the worst Indians I’ve ever had. Chicken was hard and dry, lamb chewy and the madras was like soup.

Never had a bad meal, always beautifully cooked and great service !

Very poor food did not enjoy our meal at all, the meat madras was very tuff and grizzly and could not eat it had to throw it away , chicken lazzat was to sweet , sorry but it was the worse Indian food i have ever had, and will not be using them again

So disappointed with the experience here last night. I am not a fussy eater by any means however this was tasteless food with underwhelming service and bill didn't all reflect the menu prices. I ordered a few dishes: samosa / onion bhaji / sag alloo / lamb tikka patia / chicken tikka / pilau rice (nice) and peshwari naan, so I tasted quite a selection however it was one disappointment after another.. even to the point where the second coke was not cold (no ice) and flat. Food was generally bland and meat was tough in each dish. The chef has to brush up on his skills. We weren't asked once how the food was even when we left more than half of it including the full dish of sag alloo! And I didn't even bother asking for a take away box. The restaurant itself is nice and it's close so I was hoping to find somewhere I could visit again but that won't be happening!

This was a great find that was suggested by a friend! The food tasted lovely, the customer service was at a good standard, me and my friends all left satisfied. The portion sizes are very good, and the price point is not too steep. There was a lot of choice on the menu which left me confused as I can be indecisive when it comes to food, but I felt my choice was great! Would visit again!

Not as good as it used to be I'm afraid

Usually the food is good but this time it was very disappointing. Both starter and main were lacking taste and the service was very slow. Our waiter was also rude, abrupt and inattentive.

Very efficient Restaurant serving good quality dishes and a very good professional service. Service is unhurried which is great if you're out for an evening chatting with friends, as we were on this occasion.

Avoid like the plague! Expensive,crap food. If you are young and complain about the flies in your drink and on your ‘meal?’....they see you as no threat and rudely insinuate that you placed them there! I’m not bitter....I’m just being honest. Save your money....the Indian takeaway in the same village is far superior.

This place seats probably 80 people, mostly large groups. If you want a nice meal out avoid this place. Food fair at best, miserable waiter, he was tipped £50 from my group (the bill was split 9 ways) and he didn’t give a hoot! Not even a thanks. Bland flavours I’m afraid as it’s mass produced on the kitchen production line.

Simply sublime, really good range of choice, and delicious execution of the meal, will be coming back shortly

First of all, quality of food and service was excellent. The icing on the cake for us was that they have full access for wheelchair users. I advised them when booking that one of our party was as such, and they had prepared our table by removing chairs in advance of our arrival, and placed us very close to the disabled toilet. I recommend that anyone with reservations about such access need have no concerns. Well done to all, there's a good chance that you will see us again. I suggested that they make a point of this on their website. I hope they do. David, Birchington.

Nice venue, good service, great food , reasonable prices ! Tried a few in and around maidstone with this being one of the best !

Googled the spice lounge the times state 12-2:30 on Sunday for the buffet. We turned up at 1:50 and were turned away as they were tidying up. Disappointed as we even checked the times that morning before we planned our day.

Eaten here several times now and the food is authentic and delicious on the palette. Service is Fair to Good, depends on how busy they are. A little clumsy with drinks having been dropped twice right at our table covering two of us with alcohol. Servers can be a little on the unhappy side - I know they were busy but a smile doesn't cost anything and goes a long way - especially when you've been soaked twice by two different servers. A bit on the expensive side, but, the food is good - so you get what you pay for. Will we go back - yes of course and probably for many years to come.

Superb food and excellent service. Sunday lunch was wonderful. Buffet was lots of dishes, all piping hot.

Perfect atmosphere, staff and above all...food

We decided to take our boys for a little treat for their first time to an Indian restaurant, we have been many times and enjoyed the food and service, but this time we was in the conservatory and we found the service very slow and the food was not on a hoy plate we had a duck tikka masala and it was quite tough. We would have had dessert but because the service was so slow we decided not too, think we will stick to take away, so sorry guys but usually the service and food is 100% or if not higher

First visit with friends following recommendations. A warm welcome by pleasant and attentive staff. The menu was varied and the atmosphere was convivial. The food was well presented and tasted very fresh. Generous portions and flavoursome dishes, made this a memorable visit. Will certainly return.
