Had the most delicious warm cheese scone plus a beautiful piece of cake (victoria sponge with fresh cream, raspberries and lemon curd - a winning combo!). Really friendly staff who made us feel really welcome, we sat in the really nice outdoor area. We will definitely be back :-)

What a lovely find while walking in the area. Never thought I would find a tearoom in such a picturesque village but there it was . Nice setting in the centre of the village . Inside and outside seating. Polite and efficient young staff. Look forward to going again one day.

We have just returned from a wonderful afternoon tea. It was fabulous. The serving of warm fruit or cheese scones is more than one is usually offered. We were served by the fabulous Tamsin who sadly was leaving today. I'm sure she will pass on lots of good advice on how to make the experience really special. Thank you for a delicious afternoon.

We went here for afternoon tea to celebrate my Mum's 70th with a large group and it was lovely. We had a room of our own which was tastefully decorated. The soup was thick and hearty, the sandwiches and cakes delicious. It was a shame the tea came out afterwards but we had prosecco in the meantime. The staff were lovely and the price was reasonable. We would definitely visit again.

Had a lovely time at Beardsleys, this is my third visit and I have too say this place is a hidden gem. The food is excellent, I had the ploughman's which was very filling and well presented, I was going to have cake afterwards but I ended up taking a slice home for later I was to full to attempt it. Service was excellent as usual, tea and food arrived promptly. Staff were polite and friendly. Will definitely be returning soon.

Nice place to have a coffee, initially very difficult to interact with the staff though, we had to ask another customer what we should do to get served. Eventually we did make contact and the lady was helpful but unsmiling and unwelcoming. A ‘hello’ would have been nice, but it was straight in to ‘have you booked?’ This lack of friendliness didn’t spoil our time there, but seemed to be indicative of her own dissatisfaction. Which was sad. We enjoyed our time there, and the food and drinks. The single toilet meant there was some waiting around though, so I’m glad I wasn’t eating in the room where the loo was! Shall we go back? Not sure. There are other places who do seem pleased to see their customers.

I went to Beardsleys with my friend on a week day afternoon, my first visit there after other friends told me how nice it was. I agree with their findings, it was very quaint and the food was lovely. One of the young ladies serving however us gave off an air of disinterest and never smiled. I even mentioned it to her, at which point she did smile (possibly with embarrassment), but then went back to how she appeared initially when serving us later. That regrettably will be what will stay with me when I think of Beardsleys and what I’d say if anyone asks how it was. Such a shame, as the service is just as important as the food and venue I feel.

What can I say? The afternoon tea here is EXCEPTIONAL. I have had many an afternoon tea but this was by far the best; the cakes were cooked to perfection, in fact the satsuma sponge is the best cake I have ever eaten. The savoury treats were very tasty, and the sandwiches lovely. The only thing that was a little let down was the service, but the food was just amazing. Couldn't fault the baking! Bravo.

I arrived yesterday with my daughter excited to enjoy a coffee and cake together. We found a table, after about 8 minutes a young lady with blonde hair came into the room to clear a nearby table, I tired to make eye contact with her but sadly none was returned never mind any acknowledgment or direction as to how we ordered. My daughter then said maybe we need to go up to the counter in another room, I then did this and again although there were several members of staff in the kitchen area not one made eye contact or helped me, in fact I was totally ignored again. I got the impression they were very busy so no one wanted to engage me. We left and sadly won’t return even though we’d heard good things.

What a fantabulous tearoom!! Three of us were looking for a place to have afternoon tea and used the powers of Google to search for the best ones in Leicestershire. Beardsley's was quite high up in the list of "Ten best places to have afternoon tea" so I called and booked a table about 4days in advance. We had viewed their photos and reviews online and were thoroughly looking forward to going. Due to some traffic issues we were running a little behind schedule but called ahead to let them know and they were very helpful in their response. Upon arriving the building was really lovely, and filled with lots of pretty vintage items you could buy. Sadly we didn't have enough time to stop and browse but we will be back to do so! Our afternoon tea was served promptly and looked so pretty, teas and coffees served in vintage tea cups and saucers and I fell in love with the super cute little knife for the scone! We had a fantastic selection of cakes and sandwiches and the scones were really big, with a good portion of clotted cream and jam, everything was delicious. Attention to detail makes a huge difference and this wonderful tearoom got it spot on. Super friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food means we are already planning a return trip. Thank you ladies

But I have to say, there are a couple of waitresses who could do with smiling - they make you feel as if you are an inconvenience! I know I'm not the only person to feel like this, and so I won't be visiting for some time now in the hope they read this and realise there are lots of places to go for a cuppa - with staff that actually want to serve you in a polite way! So do yourselves a favour and smile!

We were taken to this tea room for breakfast this morning and what a delight. Beautifully decorated and furnished, there was a choice of delicious breakfast options ranging from mueslis and croissants to bacon, eggs and avocado. We went for cooked and it was all excellent. But as much as for the food, the place is worth a visit just for the atmosphere and decor. All the cutlery and crockey for instance, is beautiful old fashioned pieces. The place was filling up with families and after only three weeks, it has obviously become an important community meeting place. Unusually, there is also a little shop attached to the tea room selling local craft foods and trinkets.
