We came on a Saturday lunch time and had two of the munch box deals. Prices are extremely reasonable and the food is incredible. The staff are lovely and answered any questions we had. Definitely recommend the onion rings and the fries are great. We can not wait to go back again and try more of the menu. My partner got a cookie and said it was great. 5/5

We loved our breakfast here on Saturday! A gem for anyone who wants a breakfast they couldn’t make themselves at home! I had the pancakes which you could have a variety of toppings I went with orange and I’m so glad I did. Love when the pancakes have a slight crisp (means there fresh) and these definitely were! My husband had the crumpet with black pudding and a hot dog and he loved it! We got 2 sides and again they were amazing. Only downside was I couldn’t have a cappuccino due to no coffee machine BUT the filter coffee was lovely, hot and woke me up after being up with a teething baby in the night. Service was very good nice helpful staff! We also had tap water which was served in a huge flask (needed on the hot day) and I ordered a smoothie which was perfect! The menu changes often depending on season/ what they have in store and I love that idea creativity of the chefs/team is amazing!

Came to near kitchen over the weekend as I’ve heard great things about it and saw they offer a great gluten free range which it really was there was a great options! The food we received tasted absolutely amazing and one of the nicest gluten free burgers I’ve tasted the salt and pepper chips tasted great! Overall the food was 5* and the staff was lovely and friendly. We will definitely be coming again thank you!

Came here last week after hearing great reviews. We informed we had a gluten dietary restriction on our booking and at the table. When they took drink orders we asked for a karma coke not knowing they contained barley, luckily as we hadn't heard of them before we checked! We shouldn't have been given it. Then when our food came, my gluten free bun had mould on it and was harder than the table! My husbands was the same stale feeling, so not sure if it was the bun they use or they had the pack open a while?? It's times like this I'd rather places just use schars buns and charge extra. They have such a long use by date on them and are sealed in packs of twos. They changed it straight away but the new bun was just as rock hard. The burger wasn't what we ordered either as I ordered a classic but it was more of a sandwich with garlic mayo and leaf lettuce, that's no classic burger?! I'm so disappointed by this experience. Using poor ingredients is no excuse just because we have a dietary restriction. If you're not going to try, just don't offer it. I wouldn't recommend here for gluten free, the poor quality control concerned me and I couldn't enjoy the meal after that.

After hearing good things and having a great warm welcome by staff we was left disappointed by the food. I enjoyed my burger but my Mrs didn't enjoy hers. The chips had way too much salt on them and so did the chicken gravy leaving them un eatable .quite disappointing for £40

Amazing food. Cannot recommend enough!! I ate half the homies before taking the picture…I couldn’t wait 🤷🏽‍♀️ that isn’t the regular amount of sauce both dishes come with (I appreciate lots of people like less sauce). I always ask for extra sauce and blue cheese, I also always offer to pay extra on delivery for this as I know quality ingredients are not cheap. They have never once taken me up on paying extra and they have always kindly obliged to my request ❤️🐻 love this place ❤️🐻 Please make Yorkshire pudding wraps again 🙏🙏

I have travelled for work a fair bit to the US and had food tonight that could beat the burgers I have had over there. Wednesday night & the place was busy. Food was super fresh & great tasting. Clearly using quality ingredients & cooking them well. Wouldn’t have minded a beer but you have to fetch it from the establishment next door & didn’t fancy the walk.

One of if not best burger I’ve had in a seriously long time !! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was greeted on arrival by top noch bloke

Great place! The owner recommended a dish (Blue Buffalo Wings) based on my choices/comments and it was spot on! Very good food, reasonably priced and great service. Enjoyable conversation with the owner after eating also. Would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be back!

Despite the warm welcome and nice guy serving me at the desk the food was pretty dismal. My wife ordered a plain chicken burger and the photo speaks for itself. We ate in once and it was lovely but I just don't think takeaway is the thing for Bear Kitchen. Very expensive for what we received. Maybe look at reducing the prices or increasing the quality?

I've got to say that this was probably one of the best places I had ever eaten! The food was great, portion sizes perfect, and from walking through the door, we were welcomed and the menu was explained to us perfectly.

Went for the first time last night as a table of 7 and some of the group was a bit unsure because it wasn't something they would normally go for When eating out but what can I say the food was beautiful not really a big fan of burgers but that was the best burger I have eaten by far better than places like true reds bbq the service was outstanding too had to wait a little while for the food which is to be expected due to the place been full but was definitely worth the wait wasnt expensive either at all. Will defo be eating here alot more xx

My partner and I visited Bear Kitchen for brunch over the weekend, and it was fantastic. The butties and house fries were delicious, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back soon!

Delivery estimated 45 minutes on order, total delivery time was 1hr and 45 minutes. This is pretty ridiculous when people are hungry waiting for food. If you are struggling to complete orders in the time you’re estimating, change the estimated time to reflect this???? We would have collected when asked what the restaurant was going to do to rectify this the only comment was “there’s nothing they can do” Won’t order again food was average at best PIZZA FRIES are honestly so disappointing.

Been to bear kitchen a few times now eating in before going on Westgate run which is ideal. Also had a few takeaways. Food and service has been spot on every time. The missus has coeliac disease and Bear & the team are always more than accommodating for her. Staff are ultra on point, extremely polite, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about what they are selling. I tend now to go for the specials, as they do make some random, but obviously awesome creations. Keep smashing it guys

Amazing food. I think the best of this type of cuisine I've ever had. Beats all the big names such as Almost Famous, MeatLiqour, Reds True BBQ etc. Only issue was delivery took 1 hour and 40 mins, it did say approx 1 hour. The good news was it was still warm when arrived and I can only assume the long delivery was because of how popular this place must be

Came here on my birthday, just so happens to be the lad serving’s birthday as well! My partner is vegan and I’m not and there’s SO many options for both of us, really unique delicious choices of burgers, sides and drinks! Really very unique place would highly recommend!!!!!

One of the best meals ever, I had a specials menu vegan burger. Truly delicious. You must try the harissa fries too! The service was polite and they made a custom milkshake for me too. If I had one small nitpick it was a little bit cold in the dining room but not uncomfortably so.

The Gluten Free menu is full and expansive. As a coeliac disease sufferer I've had no issues since our visit, so no gluten cross-contamination. GF Burger I had was delicious, bread was actually pretty good for GF. Food could have stood to be hotter, but was in no way cold (was just getting there before I'd finished. Will definitely be coming back regularly.

Well, what can I say... We've passed this place hundreds of times and from the outside it looks very unassuming but today my wife and I decided to 'pop in' for a bite to eat. Well, the interior is deceiving, rustic and very clean. We were greeted on arrival and shown to a table where the guy (I suspect the owner) spent some time going through the menu with us. After some deliberation I chose a 'bear burger' slaw with harissa honey and orange fries on the recommendation of the girl taking our order, my wife had grilled chicken and sweet potato wedges. The food was absolutely delicious and the recommendation for fries was spot on. We don't usually have a desert but I felt we had to try one after the excellent mains, so we shared (I had no choice) a berry cheesecake sundae, I say shared as initially my wife didn't want anything but upon a taster of mine went on to relieve me of half of the sundae... So to summarise... this is an absolute gem of a place with superb staff and excellent food, give it a try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Googled somewhere to have a nice breakfast in Wakefield and we ended up here. Absolute gem of a find, the vibe of the place is amazing. The food was outstanding highly recommend the fried chicken pancakes with maple syrup. The chap who served us and spoke to us through the meal was passionate, engaging and a real breathe of fresh air made us feel extremely welcome. Will 1000% be returning!!!

Foods great, vibes good, only recommendation is the service difference from the owner (Great and could tell really cared) to the initial contact was a bit blunt, unwelcoming. Absolutely thrilled to come across this independent burger bar. We were a large party celebrating a couple of birthdays. The staff were fabulous, efficient and completely unflappable! Thank you. Do come hungry… portions are generous and delicious! Our party tried loads from the menu. Double burgers, chicken burgers, vegan burger, Greek Salad, fries and kids (cub) menu. Milk shakes too. I will definitely come back. Apologies for anyone else eating in the small restaurant on the day we were there. We were a bit loud. Although it did go very quiet when the food arrived and we all tucked in. Yum!

Fabulous burger restaurant on the outskirts of Wakefield. Lots of choice including vegetarian and vegan options. Staff are very friendly. Only soft drinks available, but you can bring in alcohol from the pub next door, who also allow you to park in their car park. Prices reasonable and everything prepared fresh to order.

There's so much to choose from and we all wanted to eat everything. The burgers were all perfectly cooked, I loved my spicy chicken burger and refused to share even a bite with anyone. Loved the frickles too. Generous portions of delicious food, great value, great vibes!

One of our favourite places to eat brunch! We have been eating from Bear Kitchen since it was just a little burger takeaway and it just gets better all the time. The menu is huge (possibly too big!) and everything we have tried always exceeds expectations. The nachos were surprisingly one of the best things we have enjoyed from there! The milkshakes are amazing too. The atmosphere and staff are really quirky (in a great way!) and very friendly and helpful.
