Very poor quality fish and chips , slither of fish, chips clearly had been sat around and batter was soggy

Soggy batter luke warm fish and chips , great advertising to lure you in but the food was awful. Fish was tasteless and the chips had clearly been sat around for a while

Great Chips, light but tasty Batter on the fish , all perfectly fried and presented. Owner appeared friendly and happy to chat. Highly recommend a stop whilst walking along the front 👍

Would not even rate this place it must be the worst chippy I have eaten at friend eat haddock no choice cod not available would has been a better piece out of a frozen packet from budget supermarket . Chips stone cold taste the oil felt sick rest of the 200 M towards the Pier take you pick and observation healthy looking fresh fish and chips sorry we stop at this place bad choice.

One young lady working hard packing up orders when I arrived, the other fooling around with the chefs while I waited patiently for 5 minutes. Some other customers came to the counter so she begrudgingly came to the till and took the newcomer's orders before mine. Poor service.

I went there with a friend for some fish and chips, we’re quite hopeful to get a nice once since it faces the sea - never again. Tasteless, skimpy and bad cooked chips , Fish also unfinished. Very disappointed.

On the pedestrian walk in front of the sea and beach I you want fish and ship to take away or to eat on the table, as a fast food restaurant They are good but not the best in town

We wanted traditional fish and chips by the sea, not a fancy sit down meal and this did the job perfectly. Unsure why everyone is annoyed at prices - we got 2 cod and chips (more chips than we could eat), mushy peas, curry sauce and 2 drinks for £26 which is the going rate most places in the UK! Will definitely be back when I revisit Brighton.

A pretty disappointing Fish & Chip in my opinion. I mean this is the only thing you do, so you better do it amazing. Soggy chips & soggy fish batter. £9.90 for a portion is a good price but the product was disappointing.

Visited on a busy, sunny Saturday, 9 July 2022. Service was quick & polite. Fish, chips, mini shrimp cakes were hot & tasty. Little side cups of mushy peas, garlic mayo, etc. were available & good. More tables would be helpful. All were full so we sat on a nearby wall by the beach. Worked out fine.

Me and my husband are huge fans of Fish and Chips, it's our favourite meal, over steak or anything. Really good to see linr caught Haddock and fresh chips. Tasted really good, only let down, when I asked for lightly battered, the staff serving said we only do it one way. Other than the staff would have given you rave reviews.

Ordered kids fish and chips, fish was battered with the scales still on it and the fish was full of bones. Especially for a kids portion you would think they could debone it. Couldn’t feed it to my kids.

A hearty tray with very good "homemade" fries, well-cooked fish (a little oily but that's inherent to fish & chips), fast and efficient service. Very pleasant to enjoy on the beach.

Greasy fish... kids fish fingers promise 100% cod... its more like a potato cake. Taste nothing like fish. Waited ages for it. I think there are better places to get your fish and chips from.

Took advantage of the lovely weather to visit Brighton for the day for my birthday, and we all enjoyed a fab fish and chips lunch on the beach in the sun. Good sized portions and great value - £8 for cod and chips - and made freshly to order. Well done on the eco-friendly packaging too! Covid secure with sanitiser available and in/out sections, along with special serviette dispensers. Really impressive for a small venue.

Cod & chips & regular fries for £17!! With curry sauce (heated in the microwave) Chips were old and hard not fresh at all. Was really craving a beach chippy all day & I’m left really dissatisfied.

Great location, tasty fish n chips, and super friendly staff! Perfect place for my first UK fish and chips experience, and right on the beach!

Food was good They got my order wrong twice and overcharged me. Staff member asked us to move, which considering we were waiting for our order, the comment of "really, come on?" afterwards in a rude attitude was uncalled for.

Visited yesterday and was so very disappointed. The fish (literally a sliver of cod) was absolutely minuscule for the £8.00 charge and the batter hadn't even risen off the fish. Chips were better to be fair. Won't be going there again, felt royally ripped off. Oh and don't ask for salt and vinegar....the amount of salt they put on was ridiculous...couldn't let the little one have any. Had to buy a separate bag somewhere else! Poor.

We decided to see how busy it was at Brighton beach and was pleasantly surprised at how well the social distancing was being managed. The young staff in the cafe were all polite and professional, unfortunately I was served by the older (still young to me!) member of staff who was just rude. When I asked politely for some more mayonnaise I got “you’ll just have to wait” as she walked off and then barked instructions to one of her colleagues to “serve that customer please”. I decided not to let her ruin my day and smiled sweetly as I left and I did get a reluctant thank you. The fish and chips were ok, batter a bit soggy and thin, fish not as fresh as I hoped but ok and chips a bit greasy and luke warm. I wouldn’t have bothered writing a review but after the poor customer service I felt i should.

i took my son dequavis to beach break and ordered fish. OH MY GOD absolutely brilliant im now a regular customer. LOVE IT

We used the Beach Break cafe to cater our wedding at a neighbouring bar. Frazer and his team couldn’t have been more helpful from start to finish. They even turned the ovens back on upon being told the bridge & groom had yet to get their food (too busy chatting!!!) So many compliments received about the food. Tasty and huge portions!!! Thanks

I’ve been going here for the last 2 years and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it every single time. The staff are amazing and the owners are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. The food is fantastic and everything tastes amazing. Loved it.

Having lived in Brighton all my life and trust me I have visited some good and bad restaurants/takeaways. My family and I decided to stop off at this fish and chip shop for lunch. We were so impressed, the fish was succulent and the batter was lovely, the chips were cut on the premises and overall we had a lovely lunch. Highly recommend, I will defiantly be returning.

The chips were like cardboard, fish looked like it was caught from Chernobyl, 10p for ketchup, the sausage in batter was like an offensive weapon you could kill someone with. Even the seagulls turned their nose up at the chips. Rank!!

Decided to go for a stroll and came across this lovely fish and chip shop. Ordered fish and chips, chips were lovely and fresh and the batter on the fish was lovely and crispy. Highly recommended.

So horrible service. I asked for a fish and chips in which was included a side. When I asked for it, the woman who seems the tenant just throw it on my face. I never saw that. Just don’t go there. There are many other places in the area that for sure treat clients as clients.

On opening the box, I'll admit to being a little disappointed. I thought the scampi looked soggy, and that there wasn't enough.

I visited here with my family and the fish and chips where the best I ever had, we only waited about 5 mins even know the place was really busy, the staff are friendly and the place is spotless and the lovely manageress give me another fish and chips for free after I dropped mine would highly recommend.

También se solicitó en forma bastante paternalista que les quería cocinar adecuadamente o no? ! Después de pedir hablar con el gerente dos veces descubrí que el error se cometió en su lado! No hay reembolso ofrecidos hasta que lo pedí! Incluso entonces, el gerente de una manera bastante grosera dijo que yo no estoy dejando que tienes todo gratis! Después de todo me ofrecieron patatas fritas, nuggets de pollo - sólo nos dieron dinero para nuggets cuando señalamos que me dieron me gritó que yo pueda tener otra porción de patatas fritas si necesitaba! No hace falta decir que me negué. Pescado y patatas fritas eran aceptables, sin embargo, prefiero gastar mi dinero en un lugar más bonito y más amable.

Great tradition fish and chips. watch out for the seagulls. Really good all round. excellent chips and great fish, hot and good batter. I thin one of the best on the seafront.

We visited Brighton over the weekend along with another family for a day out, and we all fancied some chips and came here. All eight of us (adults and kids) absolutely loved the chips, they were nice and chunky and not too oily at all. This will now be our source for chips each time we visit Brighton!Aside from the great chips, the staff are also very nice and honest. My wife went back for an extra portion of chips but forgot to get the change from £20. Having realised this about 3 hours later on our way home, we went back to see if the lady who served her remembered that she forgot to give her the change. Unfortunately the lady who served her did not remember, but Wendy (who seemed to be the manager) took my bank details and said if the till was over when they cashed up, she would transfer the £16.50 back to us. True to her word, the £16.50 was transferred back, so thank you again Wendy!!!Highly recommended.BL

Overpriced!! The cod and chips came, eventually, in a large, flattish box to make the portion look good. The fish, which must be the cheapest pieces of cod you can buy, was thinner than a fish finger! Chips were all sizes and not crispy. They charge £1.20 for any sauces and £2.50 for a portion of chips. The staff were very unfriendly and the service was slow. The guy looked half asleep. The only polite and friendly lady was the young girl who took the orders. There are plenty of other places along the front where you can get fish and chips. I certainly shan't be buying from here again and I advise you to do the same.

We went there to get some food to eat on the beach. We got a greasy, oily fish & chips (not many chips to be honest) and a scampi & chips. Scampi were the most horrible quality I've ever had and it was a portion sized for kids.....Everything was average prized but for the same amount of money you have plenty of choice on Brighton lido!

Hi. I have just come from a weekend in Brighton. I have been many times, however stumbled across a new Fish and Chip restaurant next to the fortune of war. Me and my family tried it and we were not disappointed. Fresh fish, great location for people watching and the staff were very friendly. A most for any visitor or local heading to Brighton. Love it. Would go as far to say - the best fish and chips I have ever had in sunny Brighton. Will be going back for sure.

I recently visited the Beach Break Cafe on the seafront in Brighton with my daughter and was really impressed with both the food and service, the Cafe is a lovely environment, very clean and fresh looking, there are some tables and chairs outside to eat your food at which is in a safe place for kids as it is on a walkway, my daughter played on her scooter whilst we waited for our food to be cooked fresh to order, which didn't take too long at all. The service was friendly and the staff are chatty and really accommodating making sure we had everything we needed like condiments and napkins, our food was delicious, we ordered fish and chips and sausage with cheesy chips with drinks, the food was hot and the drinks were nice and cold, perfect for a sunny day on the beach. There is lots going on round the area, beach shops and bars so it's a great place for people watching too. After lunch we went for a stroll and found a little sand pit, on the way back we went into the Beach Bar Cafe again to get ice cream! They really have everything you need here regarding the menu and refreshments, my fish was lovely and fresh tasting and portion sizes are good, we will definitely go back to this place, you can't go to the seaside and not have fish and chips, this place really does serve the best. Great place, great location, great service, great food.

After a day on the beach thought I would have a fish dinner around 5ish. After queuing for some time and made my mind to have fish cakes priced at £4.90only to be told that they had gone up to £5.20 on the till when questioned the guy behind the till said they haven't changed the price yet that's what you get take it or leave it (how rude)So I left and went else were ? the same when't for the fish fingers. So in summery the price shown isn't the you will pay the service is long and painful not a goo place to go. But will leave that one up to you there are plenty of chip shops around?

After finally navigating and parking in the Krypton Factor-esque Churchill Square shopping Centre Car Park in Brighton, it was with some relief that my partner and I were greeted by the warming rays of a Spring Afternoon. Following a stroll along the seafront, the siren like qualities of the Beach Break began to call us and we order two Cod and Chips. At £6.50 each they seemed to be priced about right, and despite being served in a slightly oversized box, the portion size seemed about right. The Chips were very tasty and the cod had that sublime texture and taste that always leaves one wanting more! Combined with the warm weather and washed down with a cold drink, it certainly was a timeless pleasure. Recommended!
